  フランス人やドイツ人には，jazzが好きという人が結構いるようです．大昔，私がこの世にいなかったころでも，天才ジャズ・ピアニストの バド･パウエル なんかはパリで活躍していたし， デクスター･ゴードン なんかも，パリで録音を残してます．あと，有名なフランスの映画監督 ルイ・マル がとった「 死刑台のエレベーター 」のサントラは マイルス・デイビス が担当しています．映画「 シェルブールの雨傘 」の音楽で有名なフランス人の作曲家・ピアニスト， ミッシェル・ルグラ ンなんかはジャズのアルバムを何枚も出してます．（何枚かもってます．）それから，御茶ノ水の某フランス語学校で，フランス語を習っていたときに感じたのですが，年配のフランス人の先生はかなりの確率でジャズ・ファンだったような気がします．こんなことを思い出したのは，itunes radioで，ジャズの局をいろいろ適当に探していたら，なんとフランス語のジャズ局を見つけたからです．radio jazz plus(smooth jazz sans frontiers en francais) です．（もっとも，ドイツ語の局もありますが）わりとスタンダードなジャズもやりますが，fusionや近年のいわゆるsmooth jazzもかかります．とにかくｂｇｍとして最適です．基本的に，子供が寝てしまった夜中，ヘッドホンで聴いてます．いい感じです．クラッシックもロックも好きですが，ジャズも中々捨てがたいですね．考えてみると，私が過去に買ったｃｄで一番多いのがクラッシックですが，ロックとジャズは，ほぼ同じくらいでしょうか．考えてみると，気分的に歌詞がわずらわしく感ずるときは，ジャズをよく聴いている気がします．

  昨日は、吾妹と夜、恵比寿に映画を見に行くことになった『縞模様のパジャマの少年』という、牧歌的というかメルヘンチックというか、そんな題名の映画である イギリス映画で、監督はあの『ブラス！』のマーク・ハーマン監督だ ただし、メルヘンどころか舞台はナチス時代のドイツ 強制収容所の鉄条網越しに、ともに８歳の収容所所長の息子とユダヤ人の少年が密かに友だちになるのだ そこにいたる周到な筋立てと単純ではない人間描写や重厚な映像は、さすがイギリス映画であり、『ブラス！』の監督だ 子どもたちの演技がまたすばらしい どうやら戦局の悪化とともに、強制収容所は絶滅収容所に変えられ、ガス室による大量虐殺が始まろうとしている その悲惨の中で、映画は終幕に近づく 所長の妻で少年の母は、夫の「仕事」の真実を知り、絶望する せめて子どもたちを、そこから遠ざけたい ついに、夫を残して母子３人の引越しの日がやって来る 少年は、家族の目を盗んでユダヤ人の少年に会いに行く そして、想像を絶する悲劇の中で映画は終る僕たちの観たこのジャンルの映画では、ルイ・マル監督の『さよなら子供たち』（1987年、フランス・西ドイツ合作）と並ぶ、秀作であった ナチス（それに追随、熱狂するドイツ人）とユダヤ人の関係を、戦前の天皇。軍国主義支配層（それに追随、熱狂する日本人）と朝鮮人・中国人などとの関係に置き換えてみれば、他人事ではない そういう想像力を働かせるだけの深みを持った、反ナチ映画であるとはいえ、原作は若いアイルランド人であり、映画もイギリス映画である 登場人物はすべて英語で話す ドイツ人もまた、こういう小説や映画をいまだ作りえていないようだ それもまた、他人事ではないだろうそんな深く重い映画とまでは思わず、その前に短時間で短い距離を走っておこうと、走ったのである ３日前と同じコースを、さらにスピードを上げて走った 前回は、１．３キロのコースを２３分で３周したのだが、昨日は２１．５分弱だった ほぼ５０代の頃のスピードに戻ったかもしれない 爽快感が残る元来、僕の筋肉は短距離とか跳躍の瞬発力向きであった なんだか、こっちの方が性に合っているのかなあ そんな迷いが生じてきそうだ
