Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition

  • 027   I haven't been into street fighter since super nintendo . Having picked this one up I felt right at home . The game is fast , the interface is good , the multiplayer is awesome , and the streetpass feature is kinda cool . The 3d affect is very pronounced and makes the health bars and time float off the screen and the characters pop out . The only way to understand is to play yourself . The touch screen is utilized very well , allowing you to pre-assign any move or combo you choose to 4 different buttons . this is useful to pull off those impossible moves whenever you want . You would think that this takes away from the game , but it doesn't . If you are a hardcore fan that knows every move , you can opt to play against people that don't use these handy buttons , giving you a fair advantage . The 3ds has the worst launch lineup i can remember ever seeing , but this game shines above the rest . this is the only game that is worth 40 dollars until zelda , resident evil , and mgs 3 come out . get it !
    • 117   This game was my first on the 3ds , the online is awesome , smooth like the xbox360 , the touch buttons make it easy to pull off moves , so your hands dont get as sore , best fighting game on the 3ds , cant wait for dead or alive .
    • 149   i was a bit skeptical about buying the 3DS but the day before it launched i played this game at a local gamestop and was amazed . The 3D was well done and looked awesome ! sure the backgrounds don't move like in the PS3 version but i barely find myself looking at that . instead i focus on the awesome 3D this game pulls off . to buy this game i traded in my super street fighter 4 for PS3 and now i play this when i want to play street fighter . the online is great ive play about 40 online matches and have never experienced lag . its fun and entertaining for people who arent so great at the game they have a new button layout that makes it easier to pull of pro moves .

  • 030   Great game to get with your system launch even if you are a beginner with fighting games . The game does nicely to ease you into the fights by giving you the ability to perform super and ultra combos with one button mapped to the touch screen . A lot of fun to be had with tons of un-lockables and characters to master .
    • 055   This is a great game to play at launch . It is pretty much the console version of the game . It has some faults like static backgrounds and no leaderboards but the game makes up for that in other areas like the gameplay of it . It plays like you would want it to play on a handheld . It is fun and engaged gameplay .

  • 045   Just got this game , i can't put it down . I started out with my favorite character dhalsim , and in arcade mode you can fight each character as it moves to fighting locations around the globe . I love how they did the 3D effects . The fighters of course are in 3d , the fighting background is farther back , and the points and things are up at the top level . The cut scenes flow well and introduce each character . Sure , the characters are small , but this is a DS LOL . It's perfect . I like how while you're walking around it can challange others with the game . Also game play over internet allows you to fight with people around the world . Need more battery life LOL , i'll be playing this for hours .
    • 159   A must for 3DS owners . Got it today and played the heck out of it . The 3D effects are perfectly balanced and give the game a depth that you can't experience any other way . Don't pay attention to the haters . You'll enjoy this game .

  • 067   This game is such an awesome piece , especially being portable . I am a fanatic when it comes to street fighter and having this game on the 3ds is pretty legit . Everything is really smooth and gameplay is fantastic though only two things that brings my happiness down . First , the 3d is pretty much useless , nothing is interesting about it . Second , is the controls . Since I'm a good street fighter player , playing the game without a controller is really complicated . Hope for the 3DS to make a controller for it or something .
    • 021   This game is a great addition to the 3DS , it looks awesome in 3D and I'm loving the figures you can collect and use to fight against each other with Street-pass . You can either purchase coins to spin the wheel to get more figures or you can earn them through fights and arcade mode . Every character in the story mode / arcade mode has a story of their own . Blanka says he's doing it for his mama , to make her proud ! I really can't stress how much I love the street fighter game series .
    • 177   I got this game for 15.00 since I bought a 3ds it's a great game and I'm enjoying every minute of it

  • 081   excelent . this game is excelent . dont need to say nothing more . if u have a 3ds u need this game .
    • 147   I've been a street fighter fanatic since the super nes / genesis and i played all of them up to this version of the super street fighter 4 and i must say never have i seen a perfect port of this game that looked so good and played so smooth as i do with this version . Sure it won't match up to the all powerful ps3 / xbox 360 version but that doesn't make it a bad game . First of all i did notice a couple of minor things on this version like the background where the people don't move and far as i've seen the difficulty has toned down a little bit compared to the ps3 / xbox 360 version which is a pretty challenging game in my opinion anyway it is . And also on the ps3 / xbox360 version everytime u went to the match screen the map raises up before it announces the destination and on the 3ds version the map just stays the same . The good thing is that all the moves and backgrounds as well as the character are all there . well to my knowledge it is lol . The gameplay is fast paced just like the ps3 / xbox 360 version was and there are no lag times between the battles . Now if all this minor stuffs hinders you from buying this game then i would just stick with the console versions but if your not and your looking for a great fighting game to go then i will highly recommend this game bc this version of the game is about 95% like the console versions and it is totally worth the money to get . i never regretted this game at all : )
    • 198   This is the worst fighting game ever created , shaq fu was 50 times better ! i have owned it for 3 hours and have almost ripped the top screen off of my 3ds in frustration ! don't buy this game . Even if you are the most hardcore street fighter fan ever , just dont waste your hard earned cash on this electronic devil spawn . There is a glitch in where 13 of the characters cannot defeat the final boss Seth no matter how good you are . it is one of the most unbalenced games i have ever played , and i've played MW2 . i am hopefully going to be taking this back tomorrow and writing an email to capcom to atleast balence it out a little more . I was so dissapointed by it . : - (

  • 098   Street Fighter 4 3D edition is an awesome demonstration of the power the 3DS has . Not only is this a good fighting game for a handheld IT IS A GOOD FIGHTING GAME PERIOD . As a fighting game purist I was worried about the shoulder buttons ( yuck ) and the touch screen making the classic street fighter experience a pain . The Shoulder buttons are useless as you might imagine as the shape of the 3DS makes them hard to press in the heat of battle . The touch screen special-move shortcuts may seem cheap , but for someone who has been playing Street Fighter since 1992 the tiny controls can get frustrating with any handheald , but the touchscreen shortcuts remedy this and are almost a necessity to do a simple dragon punch or fireball ( moves that are easy as pie on a joystick on a full sized console ) but definitely doing Guile's Flash kick Ultra combo is pretty much impossible without the use of the touch pad . The options are cool and the game comes with all of the costumes that cost $ on the console . The gameplay is slightly different due to the shortcut buttons but once you play 2 or 3 matches you forget your on a handheald and still get that awesome street fighter experience . The Online play is where the game really shines , it has great consistency finding matches ( Wish I could say the same for the PS3 / XBOX360 versions ) and the lag is minimal / nonexistent . This game is the best launch title , and probably the best game of the year for 3DS .
    • 022   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Wow , where do I start ! ? First of all , graphics : AMAZING ! The over the shoulder dynamic look is a fantastic feature . The figure collection feature is alright , fun to trade with friends . I kind of think of the trading like collecting something like pokemon cards but just on a Video Game and trading them with your friends . I recommend this to fighting fans , because I really think this is the best portable fighting game that I have ever played from DS to PSP . I never had played a Street Fighter game before but , when I seen it I just knew that . I had to have it . My favorite character that I feel is more easier and good for practice is Cammy the blonder haired woman with the army suit / one-piece bikini type of outfit . I really do like that you can change the outfits to regular , alternate one , and alternate 2 and even better , you can change the colors . I always like to have my own self expression through colors so this really helped . Now , I havent tried out the online fighting but it sounds really nice . I would like to find out if you could use the microphone to conversate with the person you are battling with . So overall , this is a really nice game and the 3D feature of the 3DS makes it even better . If you know anything about the online battling feature , please do tell me , would be much appreciated .
    • 084   I purchased this game along with PES 2011 3D as launch titles for my brand new 3DS . Although this is the lesser of the two , it still provides countless hours of fun . There are about 40 characters , each with their own story mode . There is a brand new 3D mode and Wi-Fi . There are even medals and trophies to collect so that their is replayability . The graphics are pretty good and the 3D effect is quite noticeable . If you like fighting games and have a 3DS then pick this up .
    • 174   I can't believe I'm saying this but this port of Street fighter 4 is the best instead of the X360 / PS3 counterparts . When I bought my 3DS and game I thought the whole 3D thing was a joke and the graphics would be as crappy as the 3d affects that you would see on a 3D hallmark card in the birthday section . But to my surprise , the graphics are actually as good as the console games ! The only slight difference that may not be a big deal for some people is that in some levels ; for ex : The Burger joint level , the cars don't bounce in the background and the viewers don't yell or cheer for you durring the fights . Like I said , not a big deal since they never do anything special in the X360 or PS3 ports . Besides Graphics and gameplay online fights , there is literally no difference . The only MAJOR POSITIVE difference in the game is that on the bottom screen durring fights you can actually tap a character's special moves and Ultra combo moves . This to me is the real reason why it deserves 5 stars . I hated trying to do the ultra combos in the x360 version , they seemed impossible to perform even when I spent 40 bucks on a arcade pad ! Many gamers may argue that it's cheating , but hey if everyone is aloud to use it , i'm not complaining ! My only complaint about the game is when you play online there are 2 different fights to try : 1 . Versus mode 2 . 3D versus mode DO NOT TRY 3D VERSUS MODE ! ! ! ! I seriously had a hard time trying to fight in the game because the camera is aimed at a weird angle . It's the dumbest idea capcom has ever come up with . I don't mean to gripe but seriously , try it once and once is all you need . So in conclusion this is the best Launch game for the 3DS and I plan to keep it forever . It would be cool if game tournaments use the 3DS version than the console version . IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE !

  • 100   okay so when the 3ds first came out my eye was glued to street fighter 4 . I really enjoy this game even tough i need to get use to the way of playing this game . The controls are great only gripe is the controls that require anlong and dpad shifting are tricky to use for me atleast . Online is a blast it takes like 3 sec with my connection to find a macth which is nice and easy . Graphics are superb and not any framerate issue single player online if you have a so so connection you might see it . I reccommend this product to any one interesting
    • 090   This was one of those games during launch week that actually - stood out - , the 3D effects are stunning and the new angle also was a treat . Spotpass feature was okay , not that mind blowing but hey , something beyond StreetPass no ? Overall , as a non-fighting game enthusiast , this was a fun game - - wouldn't be able to recommend these to non-fighting game players as the excitement dies down easily , especially when you have no one you know to play with . Online is great however , and can be amusing for a while .
    • 169   Recently picked up a 3DS , got this game due to the lack selection but turned out pretty neat . I wasn't disappointed with the 3D at all . Once you get bored with single player just pop on some Internet VS action ; it gets very intense at times haha . Also they have a player grading system so when playing online you don't end up getting whooped by pro's . Which makes for more enjoyable online game play .

  • 134   I have not played the other versions of this game , hence i cannot compare , but as a stand alone product , i got to say it is a great game . The controls feel very natural , and the graphics are decent . Needless to say , the 3d effect adds a lot to the graphical aspect . I did not notice any of the framerate issues that i have been reading about . Another big point i want to mention is how smooth the online play is . I have not had any problems at all . No lagging , losing connection , or any other issues that i have come across on other consoles . I am very happy to have gotten this as my first 3ds game.It doesnt just make justice to the street fighter series , but it also gives a peek at what the 3ds can really do .
    • 087   Very nice first 3DS game for me . Loving the graphics and dynamic camera mode is sick . Would have liked to see the backgrounds animated , but the fighting is solid . I would recommend this to anyone who has a 3ds and likes arcade fighters or just wants a good first game .
    • 123   the game is very good , the graphics are the best into the 3DS , the sound are very good too . The mode online it is very good but the gamers online are always best with me . The bonus game work very well and is very funy

  • 180   I haven't played a new Street Fighter game since Super Street Fighter Special Champion Edition on SNES . I figured I would try the new one . It sucks and I am confused as to why people say this is the best launch game for the 3DS . Clearly , the 3DS didn't haven't a single good launch game , but come on , Bust A Move is way better than this . Street Fighter 4 is just a recycled fighting game that is trying to be other fighting games that seemed to play similar to Tekken on Playstation , but not as bad with the strange combo system . The controls are OK if your hands are tiny . The screen size really doesn't work for a fighting game like this . Basically , the idea of playing a fast paced fighting game like this just doesn't work on handheld systems . Also , this game is supposedly 3D , which I guess it is if you play on shoulder camera mode which to me is very awkward . This game was just a real struggle to play . I gave it 10 minutes and then shut it off , never to be played again . A lot of fighting games suffer the same fate , they are fun for a little while until you get good at them , then afterwards , you can literally only play them for about 10 minutes and get bored of them . Don't buy this game unless you are obsessed with Street Fighter . There are better games on the Nintendo 3DS and better games to come .

    • 129   This game was a lot of fun to play . I haven't played a fighting game since Super Smash Bros . Brawl , and I'm not exactly very good at them . I've played the console version of this game as well , but I prefer the 3D Edition . Not only is it in 3D , but there are many new features exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS . I enjoyed playing the arcade mode of this game , but I didn't like the fact that there was practically no story . I watch a short clip scene , fight a bunch of people , another clip scene leading to rival fight , fight Seth , watch another clip scene . There's practically no story except for the rival fight . Each character kills Seth in the end , including Seth . The gameplay is well suited for the 3DS . The brand new C-Pad , which is new to not only Nintendo but all video games , is very easy to move for all the moves that characters can use . And if you absolutely suck like me , you can use the touch screen for easy attacks . You can also turn on expert mode to make the touch screen not something only for noobs . So yeah , overall , this is a great game .
    • 137   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) This games is the best selection for the Nintendo 3DS since launch . It's packed with a lot of characters and the 3D effect on this game won't disappoint you . Actually , the 3D effects actually makes the game appear to have better graphics than in 2D mode . The controls are very nice with the mini joystick , and it really makes you realize the great build quality of the 3DS game system . It's a very fun game , just as you would expect from a good Street Fighter game . Playing multiplayer , to me , is the most fun aspect of the game . My friend and I found ourselves playing for hours learning new tricks and strategies . Overall , it's a fun game with great graphics especially with the 3D feature . Not bad at all for a mobile version of the game .

  • 196   I live in the boonies . I don't get fast Internet and I'm too far away from people to use street pass . When I got this game I thought it was a game with a story and organizational pyramid of fights like the games of old . The problem is this game is basically all online or wireless play . Does me no good and I saw no review or synopsis that said this . Maybe I missed it . But this game sucks for me because it definitely docent compare to previous titles that had a structure and a game attached to it . This is from a person who played and loved the very first Street Fighter .
    • 157   Capcom did an amazing job porting Super Street Fighter 4 from the console versions . While the background animation did take quite a hit , everything else in the game is intact . In fact , I'm so focused on the action , the static backgrounds didn't bother me at all . I did face one issue that may not be an issue for others . When playing online , the game lagged and froze during game play . Sometimes it would work better if the 3D is completely turned off . It could just be my WiFi or opponents WiFi connections . Overall , great game !
    • 200   This ssf4 is pretty nice on the 3D with great graphics but the thing I hate is the gameplay . I use the analog stick and I feel like it doesn't respond so good when I'm trying to execute a move with akuma . Game play also feels a bit slow - . - il play this game a few more times to get use to it but overall its good .

  • Guile players taking advantage of the no-charge glitch , Zangief players who no longer have to perform his difficult double circle controller motions to pull off his 75% damage ultra . Blanka and Honda are probably the worst abused characters . They also have a no-charge type glitch , allowing players to do specials and recover from hits instantly . Those glitches coupled with Capcom's kiddie autoblock option makes some characters practically 100% unbeatable . Basically , what we end up with is a beautiful , fun game where you are required to fight 2 or 3 cheaters for every one fair match with someone who is more interested in fun than ringing up 20,000 battle points . Don't get me wrong , I've had alot of fun with this game . . . but I have also shut off in the middle of a match after playing 7 different E . Honda players who do nothing but instant suma stomps over and over . If you don't find that annoying too , then you're probably one of the cheaters . Sorry , but you are . Hopefully , Capcom will patch the holes in this otherwise fantastic game before the ship sinks and SSF4 fans look elsewhere for their fighting game fun . And to you wannabes who think you're SSF4 gods because you push one button over and over . . . you're not really winning . True victory is winning with skill . . . and panache !
    • 008   I am a big Street Fighter fan , and I hate to say that this version of the franchise is broken , but it is . I realize it is a portable version and so there have to be some allowances made , but I am very disappointed that the kiddie controls are being so ridiculously abused by so many pathetic wannabes . There is the option to play with pro controls , and set your internet matches to play with like-minded enthusiasts , but whenever I tried to do that , I could find very few other players to battle with , so you're basically stuck playing these scrubs . You know who you guys are : Guile players taking advantage of the no-charge glitch , Zangief players who no longer have to perform his difficult double circle controller motions to pull off his 75% damage ultra . Blanka and Honda are probably the worst abused characters . They also have a no-charge type glitch , allowing players to do specials and recover from hits instantly . • 106   A great rendition of the venerable fighting game series , SSFIV3DE allows fighting game fans to get their knocks in on the go . The controls are better than was expected , especially for a hand-held game , and the online match-ups were relatively lag-free . The character models are amazing - it's clear that the 3DS is more powerful than the DS . To be fair , the 3D aspect seems a bit gimmicky , and the backgrounds are completely static . Overall , a solid , must-have game for the 3DS , especially if you're a fighting game fan .

  • Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Graphic : 8.5 / 10 I picked up 3 games ( this guy , monkey ball and ridge racer ) with friends and this one definitely has the best graphic . At least it looks pretty close to the console version . Animations are fluid and the colors pop out . Backgrounds are details too but please note that all moving objects , such as lava from volcano , monkeys in jungle and npc on the streets are all non-moving now , due to the capacity cut I think . The background is only a pasted picture , which is not essential to a fighting game but sometimes does feel annoying . Game play : 9.5 / 10 Very solid . In fact , as solid as the console version . The frame rates are good for the most of time , and the hitting feeling of punches and kicks are outstanding . You got the full roster of the console game which has 35 characters and the balance are made well . By balance I mean every character has his / her own strength and weakness and there's no such a character that way stronger than others . It is a matter of your skill . Talking about skill , it must be mentioned that the lower screen can be set for 4 moves . If you have trouble memorizing the move combination or using a hard move , you can put it in the lower screen , and simply touch that grid , your character will make that move . This is a controversial setting but given that 3ds is just a small handheld , I do like this setting because I don't have to mess up with the analog pad too much ( plus , my little cousin can now use those move too , lol ) Sound : 9 / 10 Better than I expected . The upgrade of sound from DS to 3DS is obvious , and the game includes almost all sound effects from the console version such as the yells when your character do a move ( hadooooooooooookeiiiiii things like that ) . 3D function : It works for most of the time , you have a good sense of depth . There are clearly 3 layers : the HP bar and other icons , your fighter , and the background . There is an extra viewing angle which is 45 degrees behind your fighter . This angle gives even better 3D effect but you probably will just use to experience the 3D because it makes you very difficult to judge the distance between you and the opponent . Often times you think your kick can hit your opponent but you can't . In my opinion it is not necessary to use 3D for a 2D fighting game though , and street fighter is NOT the best to show off your new naked eye 3D devise . I think monkey ball is the best one . Other note : If you have big hands ( as one of my friends ) , you may find using the L and R keys is a little hard . It won't be a big issue in other games , but for a fighting game you need very good timing and precise actions . My friend and I are at about same level in console version , however , he SUCKS in 3DS version because his fingers somewhat stuck in the LR keys , hahahah . Another note : Please take care your eyes . I had my cousins , parents , girlfriend ( too bad it is not plural ) and some other friends try the 3D , after about 25 mins they all felt some level of eye strain . Please do not use the 3D effect for a long time and don't play when you lay on bed or in a dark room . I haven't had a chance to test online multiplayer yet , but overall this is the strongest launch game for sure . There are some sacrifices here and there comparing to the console version , but overall it worth the money .

    • 043   I'm not going to take a lot of your time here . This game is great if you are even slightly interested in the Fighting Game Genre . Need to know more ? Okay . This is Street Fighter 4 , the most recent entry in one of the worlds most famous arcade fighting series . Its packed to the brim with well balanced characters and tense challenging gameplay . If you are looking for a deep single player experience however you would be better off going in a different direction . This game is at its best when playing against friends or online against people of similar skill level . Speaking of skill level , this game can be very intimidating for people who are new to fighting games and luckily the developers threw in some features that help ease the transition . This feature is Lite Mode . It allows for players to program specific moves into one of four squares on the touch pad that when pressed activates the move . Veterans are probably lamenting this addition but they needn't worry as you can filter out lite users if you so desire when setting up online matches . This is not a simple port of the iOS version of the game . It is beautifully rendered in 3D with all of the features of the console version intact minus some very minor changes . If you have any interest in street fighter or fighting games at all this game might just last the lifespan of your shiny new console . Pick it up , its good stuff .
    • 052   Not at all a dumbed down port . Great graphics , great online play , dl content from the console version , great example of the 3DS ' potential , and worth your money . The only annoying part were the controls which aren't the game's fault .
    • 070   I got this game because it looked like something fun to play when I am bored , without many expectations . I have never played a street fighter before this , but it looked kind of interesting . Needless to say , I am hooked ! It's a very addictive game , with lots of characters to choose from . First off , if you are looking for a good story , then this is not for you . Each character has their own little story played in the beginning of the game , but those stories are very vague and I am still not clear on the main purpose of the game . Here is what I got out of it : There is an evil corporation called S.I.N . , run by this guy named Seth . The corporation is hosting some sort of fighting competition , and each character has their reasons to join and defeat Seth . Unless you play as Seth , in which case your goal is to defeat this one woman character ( can't remember her name ) . Not sure how correct this interpretation is . But the story is not really the point of this game , the main point is to fight ! What I liked about this game is that for me , a newcomer , it is really easy to pick up and play without much learning . There is a tutorial type thing in the game that teaches you the moves , but I didn't really find it necessary . But while it's easy to play , it's hard to master . You can't go into the hardest mode without some practice ( at least I couldn't ) . Also learning all the special moves takes some time . I like that about this game , because it makes you want to keep coming back and playing more to get better . The pictures of the game don't really do the graphics justice . I love the graphics of this game . This is one of the only games I play on my 3DS with 3D on , because it adds a lot of depth to the game , with out causing my eyes to strain like some of the other 3D games . Also , I love how colorful the game is . Some people have complained about how the backgrounds don't move in this game , but in the end of the day you don't look at the backgrounds while you play , you look at the action . The game has two view to play it ; you can choose to face the action from the front or from an angle . While viewing it from an angle is a nice perspective , I found viewing it from the front easier to work with . I really like this game , and I don't regret purchasing this at all !
    • 071   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) This game is hands-down the best fighting game ever created for any hand held system out there . The 3 - d effects are subtle , certainly do not get on the way , but add a lot of dept . After a little while the novelty wears off and you just switch the 3 - d off , specially if you are playing for more than a few minutes and want to hold the unit in different angles and positions . Game modes and alternate costumes are great too and not difficult to unlock . I like playing against human opponents and tend to get tired of HvsC ratter quickly in any of these games , but thanks to online gaming I can find a challenging opponent on the go quite often . The game looks almost as good as the console ( in my case x-box 360 ) version ; Very little was sacrificed . The sound is amazing with headphones on ! All the moves and characters fromt he console version are there . The only thing I didn't like about it is related to personal preferences and the Nintendo 3ds itself ; I am used to fighting games using full-sized controllers , and the 3ds pad and buttons do not feel fashioned for fighting games , but otherwise I think the moves come out alright ( I only hope my 3ds pad / buttons don't break prematurely ) . At less than $20 , if you like fighting games , I think it is a great addition to your library . I hope my opinion helps !

    • 111   By far the best game for the 3DS on release . The 3D is there , but not as good as games like Dream Trigger . The graphics are great though . Spent many many hours playing around with the Street Pass figures and the online game play . The only flaw that I can find is spammers and leavers during online play , but that was to be expected when purchasing a fighter .
    • 145   ok , so i purchased this game on day 1 launch , and havent grown bored of it yet ! This game features so many things to do , that sometimes it seems that you wont be able to get to everything in a single sitting . Between story mode , Figurine mode , online , local , friends , there is always something to do ! New to Street Fighter ? dont know if you will be able to compete online verse those master players ? That was me before i purchased the game , but this game really does a good job at letting beginners learn the basics , and the lite controls are a dream to people who cant always remember the combos . Now , after playing the game for a while , i seem to be a worthy competator ! My only downsides i have are simple , but are not big things that should take too much from the game . First , the story mode . This mode can hardly be called a story mode because it is very short , and can be completed in 1 sitting . Now , since this isnt the only feature available to play the game , it is fine , but for people who dont have WiFi to play online , you may grow bored if you are too good at the game to loose . Second , the online spamming . Now , Capcom cant do anything about that , but it does grow to become VERY annoying sometimes when the other player just corners you and kicks you , or punches you , or whatever floats their boat until you are dead and the get 50 more points to add to their 10000000000000 for spamming ( exageration ) Overall , i gave this game a 5 / 5 stars becasause it is the best launch game available day 1 . BUY THIS GAME ! ! ! ! !

  • Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) The 3DS launch has been lacking at best in terms of software , especially if you are a hardcore gamer . While games like Pilotwings and Nintendogs may appeal to you if you haven't played any other versions of Nintendogs on the original DS , the vast majority of the launch titles have been rushed and aren't worth the time to play . However , one rehash that the 3DS has is actually better in some ways than the console versions I played . I didn't like Street Fighter IV on the Xbox 360 . I thought the Xbox 360 controller was horribly tailored for a fighting game ( though , the PS3 controller is MUCH better ) . That's one reason why I like Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition so much better than its console counterparts . Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition is a port of Super Street Fighter IV , with a few new additions and changes here and there . Super Street Fighter IV was a version of Street Fighter IV that included new characters and modes , but the core gameplay remained the same . There are still issues here . Spamming attacks is an easy way to win matches online . In fact , it's incredibly easy to spam attacks and pull off victory after victory ; those that actually try to play the game by pulling off combos and timing attacks will get annoyed . In the regular side-scrolling mode , any projectile attack can be spammed nonstop thanks to a new feature using the 3DS's touch-screen that I will get into a bit later . In the new 3D mode , which is characterized by the fact that it uses an over-the-shoulder camera , simply crouching and using heavy kicks makes it almost impossible to lose . Which ends up for a very annoying experience . However , when an opponent is found online that doesn't go for cheap victories , the fights are immensely satisfying . While the 3DS's design makes the controls a tad frustrating , at the same time , the unique capabilities of the 3DS also makes the game less frustrating and more entertaining . The touchscreen is used to hold four different and powerful combo attacks . While pulling off combos on the Xbox 360 requires a lot of patience and practice , hitting an opponent with an ultra combo is just a tap away . Because of this , there are a lot more ultra and super combo attacks in matches , but they never make the game feel cheap . It's easy to block these attacks , and pulling them off successfully requires precise timing and skill , even when using the touchscreen . Personally , I love the touchscreen implementation . I'm sure many fighting game enthusiasts will still insist on learning all the combos and such , and thankfully online battles can be filtered to not include those using the touchscreen to help them in battles . However , the touchscreen is a double-edged sword . Unfortunately , going from the touchscreen to the face buttons can be a bit of a clumsy process . What is really annoying , though , is when people abuse the touchscreen in online matches to spam attacks and make the experience so frustrating . There are a ton of characters available to play as in this game , as is expected , as it includes the entire roster from Street Fighter IV as well as the new fighters added in Super Street Fighter IV . Each character has their own storyline in the arcade mode , which I found to be a lot more enjoyable this time around thanks to the easier controls that the 3DS provides , and a lot more balanced than the online modes . On top of that , the characters also have their own trial modes that challenge players to pull off specific combos and such , just like the console versions of the game . And if that wasn't enough , each character has multiple variations of statues that can be won through a mini-game called figure roulette , with a total of 500 figures waiting to be collected in the game . Now , what about the 3D in this 3DS game ? Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition doesn't do anything all that spectacular with the 3D , but it's the most polished 3D experience on the portable that I've played yet . There was never a ghosting problem ( where objects and characters in the game break out into doubles ) that I experienced , and the game never bothered my eyes as many other 3DS games have . I play this game with the 3D on max the entire time . Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition has a sort of layering effect going on with the menus , and the words that flash on the screen before and after fights seem to pop out . The fighters seem to stick out of the screen slightly as well , especially when they are facing the screen . At one point , Ken pointed at the screen , and his hand and arm were clearly extended farther out of the screen than his body . The 3D also makes the fights look rather cool . It looks like a couple of action figures are battling it out inside of a diorama or something . Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition doesn't use the 3D in the most creative ways , but it does manage to do the 3D better than any other game I have played on the system to date . The overall visuals are rather nice . The cel-shaded character models look nice , the framerate is mostly good ( gets worse with 3D enabled ) , and the cut-scenes during the arcade mode are nice . On the downside , the background people and objects during battles are static and never move . At all . It's not a big deal , but it seems like the 3DS may already be getting pushed to it's graphical limitations . I've spent quite a few hours with Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition , but I decided to write this review when I realized I no longer had any ambition to regularly play it . That's what SSFIV3D's biggest problem is going to be : the staying power . Yeah , there's a nice amount of modes , and the multiplayer modes certainly bolster the replayability , as does the achievement-like medal system - - but the game is bound to get extremely repetitive . After playing through the arcade mode with a few characters , playing through it a bunch of other times with all the different characters just for cut-scenes gets extremely boring . The same goes for the trial modes , and any other single-player modes . The online multiplayer will keep people coming back , but I imagine that many will use SSFIV3D for short bursts over a period of time . Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition is one of the more solid launch titles for the Nintendo 3DS . The multiplayer is the best part about the game , easily , and while the other modes will be fun for a while , they do grow old quicker than they should . The balance in the game is still broken in my estimation , but overall , the improvements here are mainly positive ones . Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition is a lot of fun , and I imagine those who haven't played Street Fighter IV or Super Street Fighter IV on consoles will be able to enjoy it even more .
    • 004   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I find it odd that the very first reviews give this game one star for reasons that are either misinformed , or at the very least , informed by a bias toward another aesthetic . For example , one review suggests that Arc System Works ' Guilty Gear franchise is the paragon to which Capcom should aspire . The review goes on to suggest that the added content should have been in the original Street Fighter IV , but what's odd is that the Guilty Gear series is the very definition of milking a franchise - - and this process continues with the Blazblue series . And the missing moves argument is equally questionable . Parries are systematized solely for SF3 series for a reason : The gameplay is designed around them , while SFIV focuses on , well . . . Focus moves . Introducing the entire myriad of all moves in past iterations would be like throwing every ingredient in the kitchen into the stew - - it'd make a foul mess . Another one star review suggests that the game is a direct port of the iphone App . As a long-time Street Fighter enthusiast and owner of both the iPhone app and the 3DS versions , I can say , authoritatively , that 3DS version is far superior in terms of graphics , features , and playability . Although it features static backgrounds , the game redeems itself through genuinely well-modeled polygonal characters that manage to resemble ( if not duplicate ) those in the console versions of the game . This is a feat in and of itself , given the complexity of the character models ( and the robust character selection ) . Alternatively , the iPhone app's characters are prerendered sprites and , while pleasing to the eye , pale noticeably in comparison to the 3DS version . The 3DS version also offers a new dynamic , over-the-shoulder mode that , while gimmicky , creates a new gameplay experience . The 3DS version offers costumes , battle figures , and other extras lacking in the iDevice iteration . And there's the 3D , which is genuinely good - - particularly when executed in the standard perspective : It adds tremendous depth and makes the characters appear like action figures come alive , duking it out in a dioarama . While not ideal given only four face buttons on the 3DS , the buttons themselves lend an obvious intuitiveness to the game that's far more appealing ( imho ) that the unsatisfying mashing of a touch screen ( one can use in the 3DS version , too , though the touch screen is primarily for beginners executing traditionally complex moves with a simple touch of the bottom screen ) . For hardcore SSF4 players , the 3DS version is the best choice if you want to get a few rounds in on the go . Though it is $40 , the game is a port of its console big brothers , bringing over 99% of the frames and accuracy of the hitboxes . The 3DS will likely be hungry for software of a while - - Nintendo is gearing up for big releases later this year like Kid Icarus and the Starfox and Zelda remakes . In the meantime , SSF4 is a great game to keep you busy .

    • 007   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I am a big Street Fighter fan , and I hate to say that this version of the franchise is broken , but it is .
    • 009   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I haven't played the previous Street Fighter games but I have enjoyed the Tekken series . So , Street Fighter is a new game for me . After watching some Youtube videos and reading some of the negative reviews here I was a little worried I might be disappointed with this , but I gave it a shot . Well , the Youtube videos certainly don't do any justice to the actual game . It looks way better than what you see on Youtube . The characters really do pop with very rich colors and the 3D looks really nice . I'm enjoying the game very much . It's visually stimulating like most of the games are for the 3DS . I did notice an occasional slow frame rate during some combos , but nothing to cry about . I think this is a good solid fighting game . It's not quite as fluid as the Tekken games but it's not a big deal . . . the action feels the same . It is visually better than I expected ; gameplay is pretty much what I hoped for . . . but nothing more . It satisfies my fix for a fighting game like I had hoped it would . The 3D characters are marvelously crisp looking and you really do sense depth which really adds to the appeal of the game . I'm happy I bought it . : )
    • 011   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Until the PSP launched , we did not get many good fighting games on portable systems . The systems just couldn't handle the games , they didn't have enough buttons , and so forth . On the PSP , there were many - Street Fighter Alpha 3 , Tekken 5 , Guilty Gear , Soul Calibur , etc . Add Super Street Fighter IV 3D to the list of great fighters on portable systems . In fact , this might be the best one . The best thing I can say about this is that it feels like Street Fighter . The controls can get rough , but the moves work . The combos work . The pace of the fights is correct . This * is * Street Fighter IV . Compare it to the Street Fighter IV for the iPhone - that doesn't feel right . The pace is weird . The iPhone game plays like an old portable fighter would , odd and off-putting but with the same characters and moves . The 3DS game is the real deal . This even has all the same modes . Arcade mode is the same , and includes the car / barrel minigames . The AI seems to be the same as the console ) version too . There's local multi , a training mode ( with similar setup options as the 360 / PS3 version , and a challenge mode with the same challenges as the 360 / PS3 game ( which could possibly be more challenging due to control ) . There's even online play , though it is all funneled through the ranking system . There are no replays or spectator modes , which is understandable . Control in this game takes some getting used to . Both the circle pad and d-pad are competent , but the d-pad is a little more precise . You can set moves to the bottom screen , which helps for ultras and the like . It's not as good as a joystick or controller , obviously . But like I said , I was able to do all of the combos I normally do on the 360 / PS3 version . The graphics are the most noticeable downgrade . For one thing , the backgrounds are un-animated bitmaps . It's not a big deal , since you don't pay attention to the background during a fight anyway , but it is there . The game also runs at 30fps in online or 3D mode , which is significant , but as I said , the game is very playable . Turn off 3D in the options and you get a full 60fps in 1 - player . The characters look amazing in this game - very close to the console version , and animated spectacularly well . This is where the computing power went and it shows . I gave this game five stars not because it is perfect , but because it retains everything that makes SSF4 such a fun game . Not just that , but Capcom did a good job of taking advantage of the 3DS ' capabilities - the 3D effect is subtle but nice , dynamic 3D view ( with the camera behind your shoulder ) is a nice novelty , and there are even StreetPass functions . Awesome game !

The 3DS edition had much to prove and does it quite well . It takes advantage of the 3D-effects of the 3DS , which makes the experience even better . I had to play around with the 3D settings in order to find the right balance for me to the point where it wasn't overbearing . Online is another animal and can get competitive at times . New users will be able to understand the game mechanics and won't have to look too much into learning the move set . There are four moves that are already set on the bottom of the screen for new users to use ( since the moves can be difficult to learn ) . Score Breakdown : Presentation - B + - Figurines add to the experience , which can then be used to set-up your own line up to be used in Street Pass . Graphics - A - - Looks great as a launch title for the 3DS . 3D effect is great . Sound - A - - One of my favorite parts of the game . The sounds are just fantastic and explosive . Gameplay - B + - Fantastic fighting game that appeals to both the casual and hardcore players . Lasting Appeal - B + - Collecting all of the figures will take a while and many others . Online can be very competitive for some . Overall - 8.5

    • 016   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I'll start off by saying that until I got this , I had never owned a Street Fighter game , in fact the only time I sat down and played one was a looooong time ago . ( I didn't even know what I was playing , I was like 6 ) I have always been a Mortal Kombat and Soul Caliber fanboy and didn't really give much credit to other games . I bought my 3DS without any games mostly because I didn't have any money for games . After awhile I decided to buy this as it seemed to be the only one worth checking out in my opinion . I do not regret buying this at all , and in fact this game has turned me into a full blow Street Fighter maniac . SSF IV 3D is a significant portion of my time each day and has entertained me unshakingly . Gameplay : This is a very smooth fighter , and very balanced . Button mashing does not pay off here as you will probably just end up jumping around and doing weak punches . You can really learn a character and develop a technique that is beyond knowing a few basic moves ( Mortal Kombat generally has that feel to it ) . Timing and attack choice really have weight and can make or break you when trying to pull off combos . Some characters do seem to have a few unfair advantages ( Bison can fly across the map and dart right back to the other side , Adon can pinpoint you if he is close enough ) but overall it is very well balanced . Highly offensive characters ( Juri , Blanka , Sakura ) tend to be in tight spots when they are not attacking , and defensive characters do well in the pocket . Graphics : From what I have seen from a bit of browsing the graphics are noticeably toned down from the console editions but for a handheld they look amazing . The 3D looks very crisp in the menus and such but because this is a fighting game you will probably give the system a fair amount of shaking , causing you to quickly drift in and out of the sweet spot . I usually play with the 3D on , but don't feel like the game is detracted by having it off . Dynamic view ( over the shoulder ) makes the 3D effect rather intense , but I dislike it because it causes most of the screen to be your character . Replay : It's a fighter , if you are getting this you probably have a * very * high expectation for replay value , and this game delivers it well . I tend to change characters around a lot in most fighters to give it a fresh feeling , but with SSF IV I played a collective 4 hours in a row with Juri and didn't get tired of it AT ALL . ( I've also done the same with Cody , Ryu , Ken , Guy . . . you get the picture ) If you are already a SF fan I'm sure this game will deliver just what you expect . If you aren't , I suggest you give it a try . I wasn't a fan but I really love the series now , I've gone back and played a few of the classics and older editions and love them the same . If you are new to fighters this is probably the best out there to get started with . In summary : Don't miss out on this , get it on whatever system you have ! Doesn't have to be on the 3DS !

    • 024   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I sold my Ps3 version to get this one and I do not regret my decision . This is the most accessible fighting game out there and it really shines with the 3DS features . Here's a small breakdown : controls are near perfect ( touch screen buttons add different strategy to your gameplay ) , sounds are identical to the console version , graphics are absolutely amazing ( the static background characters do not hinder the experience . . . at all ! ! ) , difficulty level was actually dumbed down ( I'll have to play on expert to get the challenging feeling from the Ps3 version ) and the 3D effect is subtle but really cool . As for online . . . look . . . this is a competitive game and as for any game of this type you will find spammers , glitchers , campers and overall cheaters so don't let that take away your decision in buying this game . It's worth every penny .
    • 026   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I haven't been into street fighter since super nintendo . The 3ds has the worst launch lineup i can remember ever seeing , but this game shines above the rest . this is the only game that is worth 40 dollars until zelda , resident evil , and mgs 3 come out . get it !
    • 036   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Big upfront disclaimer : I do not typically enjoy fighters . Whenever I try one out in an arcade or at home on a console , I am a button masher . Therefore , I am unable to appreciate the subtle nuances of the game , and just take it for face value . As such , I initially shied away from this title , despite the glowing reviews it was getting . But my girlfriend let me borrow her copy , and I must say , I was impressed . The developers did a good job of making this iteration of SSF4 very pick up and play accessible . I can button mash to my hearts content , and in easy mode , I do just fine . Yes , I'm admitting it , I typically play in easy mode . . . and darn-it-all , that's how I like it . I may lose a round or two , but I always win in the versus CPU matches , and frankly , that's just how I like it . I wouldn't pay $40 to continue losing ; That's just not the kind of gamer I am . Having super special moves mapped to soft buttons is also great for a non-hardcore gamer like myself . I don't have the time or the desire to learn the special moves , memorize them , and painfully try to execute them in-game , so this is ideal . I realize this might offend hardcore gamers that have stuck with fighters , and particularly the SSF franchise for years , but for me , it is a welcome addition . Some other things I was pleasantly surprised by : Arcade mode let's you progress through the game as if you were standing in front of the cabinet , but you can modify a setting to continually search for online opponents in the background . When one is found , your arcade progress is interrupted and you begin a fight with your new , real opponent . When one of you decides you're done with that , you get dumped back into where you left off in arcade mode . This is just way too convenient and makes arcade mode a real , diversified joy . And last , converting step coins into figurine purchases is neat . I'm still overall mystified by the whole concept , but I imagine if I had a bunch of StreetPass success , this would be a killer little side-story to the overall experience . Shockingly , the thing that most turned me off the most , was the 3D . In side-view , it's almost useless . In dynamic view , it's a bit more fun . But after a few hours of playing , my eyes adjusted and simply didn't notice the depth any longer . Perhaps , due to the nature of the game , I spent so much time focusing on the foreground , that the depth going on behind me was just wasted . I kept checking the depth slider to ensure 3D wasn't off , because I was almost certain that it was . That's how accustomed I had become . And the most difficult part about the 3D ? This is a fast-paced fighter . Whether you're a button-masher like me , or a sincere pro , you're going to be twisting that analogue stick and pounding out combo's like nobodies business . Which , naturally , makes the 3DS tip about slightly . Given the 3DS ' very narrow 3D viewing angle , I constantly found myself peering through blurry , ghosty images , only to realize that my last move had caused me to nudge the 3DS out of it's optimal position . Then my brain had to devote a CPU cycle or two to correcting this , which caused me to lose focus on the game itself . Eventually , I opted to try to ignore that as much as possible , to ensure wins in the game , which left me with a bad impression of the 3D overall . This game doesn't need 3D to be good . It's good all on its own . The 3D is just a one-trick-pony . The major marketable selling point . Your mileage may vary , but I believe that SSF4 : 3D edition is a nice little gem in a world of superfluousness .

    • 050   I'd buy this one again . the cover of the box is neat . . . has a lil 3D gizmo on it . The gameplay is fun and the 3D effects are really good . I don't normally pick fighting games . I was in a fuss over buying this game or the starwars games for 3Ds release titles . I don't regret this game purchase . This is a good one for when I'm in a feisty mood and want to use well times attacks to maim my opponents . Makes me hopeful for a Mortal Kombat 3D ! I think they've burned these fighting genres into the ground though but thats just me . . like I said I'm not really a fighting genre type of guy . This here Streetfighter 3D is still a good title . Have fun !

Great graphics , great online play , dl content from the console version , great example of the 3DS ' potential , and worth your money . • 059   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) The 3DS launch has been lacking at best in terms of software , especially if you are a hardcore gamer .
    • 060   The 3DS launch has been lacking at best in terms of software , especially if you are a hardcore gamer . • 061   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) This is one of the two games I picked up for the 3DS at launch ( along with Asphalt 3D ) and it is a lot of fun . I haven't played any SSF in a long time , but this was quick to pick up . I'm a big fan of the customizable control layout ( per character in Lite mode ) and I'm sure I'll start using the Pro layout once I've gotten a hang of the game . It probably doesn't need stating , but the graphics for this game on the 3DS are awesome ; the over-the-shoulder mode makes great use of the 3D . This game is definitely worth picking up for some great on-the-go fighting .

    • 063   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I know what your thinking ; Why should I purchase a port that I already own ? Do Nintendo and Capcom think I'm stupid ? A straight forward port it is , but Nintendo knows its present and potential market very well . Looking beyond the 3d gimmick and unimpressive battery life the 3ds is far from perfect . With this being said , there is impressive hardware at hand with some beautiful software to match it . This port is simply powerful and gorgeous . SSFIV : 3D Edition is the reason I purchased the 3ds , money well spent . . . Content ( 5 / 5 ) Same as its Big brother counter parts . Off the top of my head I noticed all characters have alternate costumes included , also they have their own version of Medals ( Trophies ) . It has a weird street pass mode with action figures , it's cool at first but soon you'll forget about it . Story ( 4 / 5 ) We all know each of our favorite characters have there individual stories . They are very well constructed and although simple , the animation is effective in showing its point . Graphics ( 5 / 5 ) The transfer from the home consoles is simply breath taking . There are few suddle changes in some of the stage backgrounds ; most notable would be motionless sprites . There is an exclusive feature Dynamic View which utilizes the 3d effect very well , it also gives you a slight over the shoulder view . Pixilation is minimal , the only place I noticed it was on the energy bars . This port is not in HD but the 3D effect will quickly make you forget that . Sound Effects ( 5 / 5 ) The 3ds has a surround volume setting which shows off all the clear sound effects and background music . Overall it's no different from the other ports . Game play ( 5 / 5 ) Dynamic view matches will be the only thing I'll focus on , it being the exclusive feature . At first it feels clumsy and awkward but after 10 - 15 min of game play it will feel as natural as the standard 2d - 3d fights . Controls ( 4 / 5 ) We can't compare this to a duel shock 3 or 360 control but the single analog stick is a piece of art . I prefer the analog stick with 3d versus matches . When it comes down to the standard view I still prefer the d pad . Replay value ( 5 / 5 ) The online support is as good as the home consoles . Few features are missing with the most important parts present . It seems easier find ranked matches ; it gives you the option of rematch after every fight . The online mode will keep you busy for months or years to come . General View : I'm not promoting the 3ds . Everyone has there preferences , I just wanted to point out that this is the reason I initially purchased the 3ds and I am very happy with my purchase and port . If you are a fighting game fan and have a 3ds then this is a must have in my books . Best street fighter port up to date !

Using the joystick just doesn't feel natural for some reason . That's my Only complaint . I absolutely loved this game on PS3 and this version is as good for sure . The online is smooth , the graphics look pretty great , the 3d effect really pops and looks good . . . I just personally didn't care for how the 3ds felt as a controller for this title and I felt the screen special move buttons were a bit unresponsive .

    • 091   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I must say , I had fun with this game , specially online . The graphics are really , really good . Probably PS3 graphics on a handheld . The gameplay is great , just like the old games ( SSF2 ) . Super Combos and Ultra Combos are MUCH more easy to execute with a touch of a button . But what really surprised me was that everything was here from the console versions : graphics , gameplay , online , moves , characters , BACKGROUND . PROS Great graphics . Great artwork . Great gameplay . Touchscreen makes it easier to play . Online . Figurine collection . 35 character , a few new ones . Good customization . Lite and Pro button configuration . Over the shoulder 3D ! CONS Background are just pictures , not animated . Online SPAMMERS ( I was able to get all the characters at least to C rank and higher , and only had about 69,000 something of Player Points ( PP ) until I got tired of GUILE , E.HONDA , RYU , KEN , BlANKA , HAKAN , EL FUERTE , been heavily used by spammers , who the only thing they use is Sonic Boom , Sumo Smash , Hadoken , Rolling Attack , Oil and Habanero something ) . Can be a bit tricky to use L and R buttons to execute moves . 3D can get annoying .

    • 099   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) okay so when the 3ds first came out my eye was glued to street fighter 4 .

    • 124   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) There isn't a whole lot of must have 3DS games at the moment but the port of SSFIV is a great edition and stands out on its own . It takes advantage of many functions of the 3DS . To start that off , the 3D looks good in the game . It really gives a new visual impact . The backgrounds are not as rich as the console ports with more static characters but its nothing that can draw you away from how it looks . It looks good . Another unique thing is the ability to obtain coins by walking around . You will obtain coins that you can use to gather trophies that you can use to fight other people that you have the game and SSFIV . These trophies are characters that have their own stats . Its a pretty unique feature . Besides two of the new features they also have a over-the-shoulder mode , I don't think anyone should get too excited about it . Its nice to see a game take a new perspective in fighting games but this mode is pretty bad in judging distances . Now as like the console versions , the gameplay feel no different . I had no difficulties and to make things easier they added two special moves and the super and ultra on the bottom touch screen for fast access to pull off . Everything else is there from the cut-scenes , the bonus levels , and there is a online mode to go against others . Lag wasn't a major issue and finding people wasn't too difficult . If you want a portable version of Street Fighter , this is the way to go . If you want it for just more Street Fighter , there is DLC for Super Street Fighter IV : Arcade Edition with 4 new characters , battle saves , and such . There will also be a standalone version . Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition plays like you would expect . Its just as fun and visually stimulating .

Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition plays like you would expect . Its just as fun and visually stimulating .
    • 126   There isn't a whole lot of must have 3DS games at the moment but the port of SSFIV is a great edition and stands out on its own . • 130   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Out of all the games that launched with The Nintendo 3DS , Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition was the first game I bought for the system . While I've never , truly , been an avid fan of the series ( except for the EX + @ series ) ; this game surely changed my feelings on that . What amazes me most about SSFIV : 3D is the fact that it has everything that I loved about the EX + @ series and ups the ante . Not only that but it's pretty close to the console experience of SSFIV ( by pretty close meaning some cuts were made to bring SSFIV : 3D to the 3DS , after all ) . By and far , Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition is the best portable fighter released on the system , thus far .

    • 139   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I picked up SSFIV today and I have to say I'm impressed . The 3D graphics work really well - both in the side view and the 45 degree over the shoulder view . It does a fine job of showing off the 3DS technology . Fighting games are normally not my thing , but this got the best reviews of any launch game so I had to try it . I have 2 other 3DS games and SSFIV uses the 3D technology better than those games ( Madden and Rayman 3D ) . I have yet to use the Street Pass features but the normal game play is fun . I liked that it accommodated my lack of fighting game abilities by tagging the special moves to the touch screen . I think it kind of levels the playing field for those of us that aren't dedicated button mashers . As I get more time with this game , I will try to update the review .

    • 146   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I've been a street fighter fanatic since the super nes / genesis and i played all of them up to this version of the super street fighter 4 and i must say never have i seen a perfect port of this game that looked so good and played so smooth as i do with this version . Now if all this minor stuffs hinders you from buying this game then i would just stick with the console versions but if your not and your looking for a great fighting game to go then i will highly recommend this game bc this version of the game is about 95% like the console versions and it is totally worth the money to get . i never regretted this game at all : )
    • 148   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) i was a bit skeptical about buying the 3DS but the day before it launched i played this game at a local gamestop and was amazed .
    • 152   This is probably the strongest launch title in 3DS , for obvious reason . The franchise is just strong . But beyond the name , the quality of the game is overall lived up to the name . Graphic : Very beautiful , especially the character model . It's almost as good as the console graphic ! However it's the background that's taken the hit . Mostly I have no problem , but it's sad to see the background completely static ( yes , all the animal , people on the background are static ) They look decent , and they are all 3d modeled , but seem them static makes me feel like the background are like wax house . . . 3D effect : looks great . It's a very interesting feeling though . Because of the scale of the system , the character and the static environment makes me feel like I'm looking at a miniature model house . Don't get me wrong , it looks nice and interesting . Another thing is that because the nature of this game , I think many prone to shake the system and tilt it often because of all the moves that ppl need to pull out . But when that happen , the 3D effect will suffer due to the small sweet spot of the system , not the game's fault though ) Sound : Good for most part , if you played the console game , you know what it's like . It's pretty much the same . My only complain is that There's no option to switch to Japanese Voice Over . But I think that's due to lack of card space . I truly hope there can be a voice pack later on to able to download into your system . GamePlay : Pretty much needless to explain here . The only thing I can comment here is the control . I find d pad much easier to use than the analog stick . The button layout will force you to use L and R , but I actually custom my keys on the touch pad too and I find it easier to use than L and R button ( since I can use thumb for them too ) Internet play : Versus and 3D Versus , 3D versus is just using the should camera for match . While looks cool , I find it hard to play cuz it's harder to judge the distance . So I go with Versus . I played a few match . While most of time it's not bad , it lags a bit for me . Sometime the game will stuck for a second or two . Or the game will delay what I input , which is kind of expectable for online play , especially wifi bandwidth . Conclusion : A very solid game needless to say . With a lot of content . I personally will take out some of the less popular characters and use those space for animation background and Japanese VO , but that's just me though . If you own a 3DS , it's probably a no-brainer to have this game . It'll give you hours of fun and some quick satisfying game play on the go !
    • 155   I own the PC version of Street Fighter IV , I also happen to have a 3DTV ( a Samsung 3D Ready DLP to be precise ) , which I also have iz3d driver so that I can play Street Fighter IV in stereoscopic 3D . But I have to say that I am playing the Nintendo 3DS version a lot more then I did the PC version , and that is saying a lot ! This is primarily because of the Figure Points and collecting figures , not just to see and collect them but to be able to do Street Pass battles , something that can't be done with a PC game . In fact I wish they would add something similar to the PC game . For the 3DS , this is my most played game , my second favorite game ( second to AR Games ) . The stereoscopic 3D effect works well for me , especially during the fight scenes . It isn't as realistic as my PC is , and for cinematics it seems to lose some of the depth ( flatten out ) . But as a side note , I did an experiment with taking screenshots of stereoscopic 3d games on the PC and converting the screenshots to MPOs so I can view them on the 3DS , and I found that with smaller screens , that the 3D effect can fail ( and possibly hurt your eyes ) if you try to make it too realistic . So it seems it is better to keep the 3d effect rather shallow . I believe the reason for this is because your eye focus is at 10 to 12 inches , so if you try and put something on the screen that looks like it is greater than a couple of inches , your eyes can strain trying to focus past the display .
    • 158   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) A must for 3DS owners . Got it today and played the heck out of it . The 3D effects are perfectly balanced and give the game a depth that you can't experience any other way . Don't pay attention to the haters . You'll enjoy this game .
    • 162   I played this game with 3d up and the game quality low due to limitation of the 3DS capabilities but the game plays smooth when 3d is off . frame rate is slow with 3D but the game overall is easy to play but lack good quality that gives you the feeling that your actually experiencing 3D

    • 172   One of the best games of it's time has been re-invented for the 3DS . I've always liked Street Fighter and this has to be the best portable version ever ! You have to remember that your playing this on a portable system and you can't expect the power and performance of an arcade system . That being said , you almost forget that your playing on a portable system . Aside from missing background animations , I don't see any issues with this game . It's very tight and plays just as fast and true to the Street Fighter name . Remove the 3D aspect and it's a great game . Turn 3D on and it's that much more vivid and deep . It really is amazing for a portable system .
    • 181   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Well , you don't have any options but to play in slow mode and I'm not talking about internet lag . Just by playing the arcade mode you will know what I mean . It's slow , which makes the game unbearable to play . I'm a big Street Fighter fan but this game is a big disappointment . It has potential of being a good or maybe even great game , but what's the point of playing a game if you have to play it in slow mode ? I bought DOA today and I'm glad I did . I can FINALLY play a fighting game in normal pace .
    • 184   As a player who likes fighting games , I had to try this when I got the chance . Street fighter 4 for the nintendo 3DS is a great game and fun to play , but only if you're a new to the series and havent played any others on console or in an arcade . The game itself is true to the SF series , but my biggest issue is gameplay . Being able to set moves to the buttons on the touch screen kills the old school gameplay I'm used to . In the past , if you wanted to do a shoryuken , or hadouken , you either were a pro with the D-Pad / analog , or arcade stick . Now you can just press a button and spam the same moves seamlessly . Though they do prevent you from over using a certain preset move , it just still seems to easy to me . I'd like to have seen all the moves preformed by the analog stick instead of having touch screen controls along side . Graphics are great , not as amazing as the console's but still excellent for a portable hand held game . Over all I guess it still is fun , but different since I'm used to an arcade stick on console . This will just be a fun game while on trips and vacations , but at home , I'll stick to the console where ti takes true skill to pull off moves .

    • 191   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Super Street Fighter IV is the only launch game I purchased for the 3DS and the only reason I purchased it is because when I preordered my 3DS through Amazon they rewarded me with a 25 $ discount on any of the launch titles . I was disappointed that this wasn't a generic game discount that can be used for any game until a certain date , but I won't bother complaining about gifts . It may sound unfair to the 3DS version of the game but SSF4 has become played out for me . On the Playstation 3 I own both the original ( vanilla ) version and SSF4 . The PS3 version has superior controls , graphics and online play obviously . Not only that but it has the support of the trophy system which adds replay value . The 3DS version adds 3D of course . The 3D in the game isn't too impressive and doesn't add much to the gameplay . Also the controls are much more difficult on the 3DS and to combat this they made it so you can use the touch screen to perform certain moves but that feels like cheating while it's also difficult to hit the touch screen when your fighting . The 3DS launch was incredibly weak and this is a game I purchased only because I had a discount and didn't want to waste it . I'll probably try to trade this in on Amazon and get a gift card to use on Ocarina of Time when that comes out .

I use the analog stick and I feel like it doesn't respond so good when I'm trying to execute a move with akuma . Game play also feels a bit slow - . - il play this game a few more times to get use to it but overall its good .

  • Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) This is my first foray into the Street Fighter series since I played II on Super Nintendo way too many years ago . I am actually rather surprised that it maintained its 2D feel rather than switching to a more three dimension space like Tekken . For this reason , it might not be the best to show off your brand new 3DS . The graphics look excellent overall but the 3D has a simple , layered look that doesn't really add anything to game play . Though while it is not , in my opinion , a true 3D gaming experience but a 2D game dressed up w / a 3D effect , this is simply a blast to play . The small controls are a bit awkward and special moves can be difficult to pull off w / the more-comfotable-to-use analog stick but this is made up for by the fact that the touch screen is converted to four easy buttons to pull off some more difficult control combination . I was skeptical of this feature at first but it really adds much to the ease and fun of playing this that I'd call it a necessary evil at worst . I hope other fighting titles include it as well . In the end , this plays as good as any full-sized console fighter in the palm of your hand and it has stunningly sharp graphics to boot . The strength of this game is definitely in the actual playing of it . And really what more could you want out of a fighter ? The stories in arcade mode are kind of silly and the cut scenes are a bit too long so I find myself skipping them even on players I haven't played before . One thing I would have liked to see was something like the story mode on Soulcaliber where you get different and varied challenges to work your way through . That would have improved playability as a single player game . However , this game's main strength is it's internet vs . mode . I wouldn't mind this having been fleshed out more , maybe w / leader boards , chats and all the bells and whistles but there is something appealing about mashing the A button a few times and finding yourself fight a random person from across the world . It's just like arcade mode . You fight a match . You fight another match . It's simple but addictive . If you are looking for a straight forward fighting game w / great graphics , you can't go wrong w / this . That it's 3D and you can take it anywhere is just a bonus .
    • 025   I sold my Ps3 version to get this one and I do not regret my decision .

With 2 different control settings to cater to the veterans and new comers , you're bound to find a control that works ( unless you're only accustomed to an arcade stick ) . The 3D effect is used nicely , though I prefer to keep it off for the 60FPS buttery smoothness .

    • 166   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) This game is as good as fighting games get outside of a full console / arcade version with a fighting controller . Not much more to say about it than that . The 3DS specific things are great add ons , but fundamentally this is the console version with flat backgrounds . In 3D , the characters become miniatures fighting in a 3d arena behind the screen . In 2D , they have fantastic resolution .

You can either purchase coins to spin the wheel to get more figures or you can earn them through fights and arcade mode . Every character in the story mode / arcade mode has a story of their own . Blanka says he's doing it for his mama , to make her proud ! I really can't stress how much I love the street fighter game series .

The game does nicely to ease you into the fights by giving you the ability to perform super and ultra combos with one button mapped to the touch screen . A lot of fun to be had with tons of un-lockables and characters to master .

    • 033   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I don't normally like fighting games because they get extremely repetitive after the 1st 5 minutes . This is a good thing on a portable like the 3DS because it means I can do a fight one night a week and still be okay when going online to fight people . I personally didn't like SFIV on the bigger consoles but on the 3DS it rocks . Buy it .
    • 041   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I'm not going to take a lot of your time here .

    • 044   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Just got this game , i can't put it down .
    • 049   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I'd buy this one again . the cover of the box is neat . . . has a lil 3D gizmo on it . Have fun !

    • 068   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I got this game because it looked like something fun to play when I am bored , without many expectations .

    • 096   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Street Fighter 4 3D edition is an awesome demonstration of the power the 3DS has .

    • 110   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) By far the best game for the 3DS on release . The 3D is there , but not as good as games like Dream Trigger . The graphics are great though . Spent many many hours playing around with the Street Pass figures and the online game play . The only flaw that I can find is spammers and leavers during online play , but that was to be expected when purchasing a fighter .

    • 127   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) This game was a lot of fun to play .

It looks pratically like the console version except just smaller and on the go . I mean the graphics look amazing and this game is amzing Nintendo did a great job on the graphics . The game play plays like a street fighter game some-what . And the controls are really fun . All in all buy this game .
    • 144   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) ok , so i purchased this game on day 1 launch , and havent grown bored of it yet ! ! ! ! !

    • 153   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I own the PC version of Street Fighter IV , I also happen to have a 3DTV ( a Samsung 3D Ready DLP to be precise ) , which I also have iz3d driver so that I can play Street Fighter IV in stereoscopic 3D .

    • 156   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Capcom did an amazing job porting Super Street Fighter 4 from the console versions .

    • 168   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) Recently picked up a 3DS , got this game due to the lack selection but turned out pretty neat . I wasn't disappointed with the 3D at all . Once you get bored with single player just pop on some Internet VS action ; it gets very intense at times haha . Also they have a player grading system so when playing online you don't end up getting whooped by pro's . Which makes for more enjoyable online game play .
    • 170   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) One of the best games of it's time has been re-invented for the 3DS .

    • 173   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I can't believe I'm saying this but this port of Street fighter 4 is the best instead of the X360 / PS3 counterparts .

    • 178   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I haven't played a new Street Fighter game since Super Street Fighter Special Champion Edition on SNES .

    • 183   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) As a player who likes fighting games , I had to try this when I got the chance .

DOA Dimensions is a lot better smoother and fun . I bought street fighter then put it up for trade a couple days later .

    • 194   Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) I live in the boonies .

    • 197   This review is from : Super Street Fighter IV : 3D Edition ( Video Game ) This is the worst fighting game ever created , shaq fu was 50 times better ! i have owned it for 3 hours and have almost ripped the top screen off of my 3ds in frustration ! don't buy this game . : - (
