JanSport Wasabi Core Series Backpack, Black

  • 015 4  this is a great backpack because first it is roomy without being too large on your back i mean i'm a girl and that is the last thing i want . i chose the black one because it is really nice and doesnt get durty as fast as the other colors . i'm the only girl woth the backpack at school while everyone else has the same north face or the same springbreak jansport . the shipping was fast it took 3 days instead in of 5 and it was free i would definetely recommend this product
    • 002 4  Backpack is light when empty , yet strong to curry the load of books to school . Side pocket for bottle very handy . Top pocket for CD player or small easy to reach items such as keys , very helpful and practical . I like the base of the backpack being dark color so it doesn't look dirty from use .
    • 014 4  I really wanted a waterproof backpack for my daughter because it rains alot in Maryland where she is at college , but when it really pours down rain , the books and stuff inside still get wet . Otherwise it's a good backpack .
    • 016 4  This is a very comfortable and roomy backpack . It is not heavy and has plenty of storage and a clean look to it . Easily worth the purchase !
    • 023 4  This backpack is perfect ! You absolutely get more of your money's worth considering that I got it for less than the regular price .
    • 025 4  Thank you for an on the money description of this backpack , not only a great deal , but my son 14 loves it and that is exceptional in itself ! ! Kids today are very picky and fashion concious , this was great , mailing was fast also , Thank you ! !
    • 027 4  Good and exactly like the description . I just feel like the straps keep on moving around , or the backpack is crooked .
    • 029 4  I really like this backpack a little bit bigger than i expected but still satisfied .
    • 037 4  My daughter loves this backpack . The seller was prompt and the price was very reasonable . It came earlier than expected too ! We were so happy with the quality of this item that we purchased a second one .
    • 038 4  The best backpacks ever ! And they are warrantied to last . Won't buy any other brand .
    • 046 4  Great backpack for work . lots of room and very durable . The material isvery heavy and will hold up for years .
    • 050 4  this backpack is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute i bought this to use for a diaper bag on the simple fact it nicer looking than the old diaper bag the hospital gave me and is of better quality

  • I was anticipating the burnt orange that some reviewers pointed out ( as opposed to the design's barn red description ) and I still like it a lot . The only thing that sort of irks me is the strange combination of black ( the zipper grabs and top loop for dragging it around ) and brown ( the straps and lining ) . . . but that doesn't make it any worse of a backpack . My con : I wish this bag had individual slots for pens and pencils , but it instead has a 3.5 wide X 6 high pouch next to a 6.5 square velcro-closeable pouch ( in the middle compartment ) . While this is very spacious , I personally do not like things shaking around ( assuming you have it in small quantities ) . Other potential cons : I haven't really tested for it yet , but overall the material is very smooth and likely durable ( as higher-quality backpacks go . . ) , but I would prefer to have some more lining on the bottom of the backpack and also on the side to protect from moisture seepage ( from the bottle holder ) . I occasionally have an icy bottle of water there , and though I don't have anything super-valuable in my bag nor do I think that a lot would get through the material , I'd feel more comfortable knowing that it's thicker and more resistant to leaks . Also , as the middle pouch is very , very deep ( and spacious ) , I can see problems occurring where something will get smashed from the main compartment being at capacity since that pouch goes THAT far down ( and sort of under ! ) .
    • 001 4  I just bought this yesterday for school , and I love it . The straps make it easy on your back for heavy loads , which is definitely a good thing because I'm in high school ! It's big enough for all my books but not too big to be awkward . It'd be nice if it had more pockets , maybe one for a cell phone , but that's not really a problem since all I really carry is books . And the color's nice - that's always a plus .
    • 003 4  Pros : 1 . Not too bulky but big enough for the normal high school and college student . Rough estimate of carrying capacity : 3 big yellow phone directories . 2 . Has 4 compartments , including one for portable music device . All the smaller compartments are easily accessible , which is what most people should want of smaller components . 3 . Water proof . 4 . Straps are comfortable . I like this backpack . I've not detected any flaws yet . I usually use it to carry my 15.4 inch laptop + charger , a binder , 1 or 2 books sometimes + my lunch . I bought this backpack for $ 25 at amazon.com . Shame they've increased the price .
    • 006 4  This backpack is great ! What I love the most about it is that , while it has a lot of depth for vertical storage , it is not very thick . I had an older , larger Jansport backpack which was nice , but carrying a few notebooks , binders , and a textbook or two felt awkward in such a big space . This certainly isn't for those of you who lug around every textbook you own for a whole day . I can EASILY fit my 15.4 Dell Inspiron Notebook in the main compartment ( with a fairly bulky notebook sleeve [ Pinder THIN ] , too ! ) , and there's still room for a couple of textbooks too . On the color : I was anticipating the burnt orange that some reviewers pointed out ( as opposed to the design's barn red description ) and I still like it a lot . • 008 4  I bought this to take on a trip abroad which included daily use , hiking , and luggage carry-on . It worked great for all applications . It's very comfortable , even with heavy loads , and has so many pockets I can't remember where I put everything ! It held up great too . I really like the small pocket for MP3 player at the top , and the mesh on the side for a water bottle . I used both of these a lot !
    • 009 4  The backpack is very nice and seems to be resistant . I tought it was completely black , because I couldn't see the back side of the product in the picture . The only bad thing , is that it was sent in a huge box , and as I live outside the U.S . the shipping cost increased significantly , even more expensive than the product itself
    • 010 4  I've purchased the Wasabi backpack for a two weeks trip around the United States . The backpack is great , lots of storage , nice and cool design , and it is made to last . If you're putting too much weight on it and carry the bag for along time , you'll start having a pain in the your shoulders though , due to the curved design of the straps . But overall , I am satisfied with this backpack .
    • 011 4  I got one of these to replace my last jansport which developed a hole in it . I was amazed how much the build quality has improved . The straps have nice padding , the fit is pefect , it seems to have more pouches and storage compartments than my last one as well . Basically super comfortable , great fit ( easy to adjust straps ) , durable , everything you could ever hope for . Super pleased with this purchase . Highly recommended .
    • 013 4  I like this bag so much I got two . There are enough compartments and room for everything I need for daily and recreational use . The top pocket I keep my usb drives , point & shoot digicam , mini usb cable , mp3 player , etc . The main compartment I keep my laptop and any other papers / documents . The smaller compartment I keep the laptop power supply , cds , network cable , small external hdd , etc . In the bottom pocket I have hand sanitizer , hand lotion , keycard , lip balm , tissues , tylenol , etc . I've used this bag daily for the past 3 years and it hardly shows signs of wear .
    • 017 4  The straps on this backpack are too wide ( almost twice as wide as my old COMFORTABLE Jansport ) and cut weirdly into my neck / shoulder . Without even putting anything in this backpack it hurt me to have it on ( I guess it hit a weird pressure point in my neck or something ) . From reading other people's review it must be a great backpack to some people , but to me it was awful . Sure , it looks cool , but I'd much rather be comfortable than cool . Also it seems to be much more cheaply constructed than my old Jansport . I bought one in 1998 , and the material just seems thicker than that of the new Jansports . Also , the zippers on this pack seem to catch the inner lip easily ( A problem I didn't have with my old Jansport ) . Because of all of this I'm returning my backpack and looking for a new one AGAIN .
    • 019 4  Its very light , nice looks ( blue in color ) and spacious back pack . . . I use it for my office and also when ever I go for some outing . . It can hold all the essential things that I need . . I like this bag a lot . . very much recommended .
    • 031 4  I really like this backpack . I was replacing my old backpack that I have had since freshman year of high school . ( I'm a junior in college now ) I wanted something that could hold my books , had side pockets , and was cute . I've gotten several compliments on it about the color scheme . With nothing in it , the backpack is very light . Some backpacks are really heavy just by themselves . I really like the zipper at the top that is supposed to hold your ipod . I don't really use it for that ; I use it for my cell phone and it works great . I also like the front zipper pocket . It's easy to get to things that I use often . The middle pocket has a velcro pocket in it and I find that useful for holding things I don't want sitting in the bottom of my backpack . I like the side pocket on it too . It is large enough to hold my coffee thermos without it slipping out . I had a problem with it falling out with my old backpack because the side pockets were a little too small . This backpack won't hold a laptop though . Don't buy it for a laptop unless you have one of the really small ones and have a case for it . There's no laptop pocket . Yup , overall , I really like this backpack .
    • 033 4  I got this backpack to replace my very old Jansport that finally bit the dust . Although I was skeptical because I loved my old bag dearly , I was very pleased when this one arrived . The hot pink color is fun but still goes with most everything . The bag is big enough for all of my textbooks and notebooks , and even my laptop . It has enough pockets to keep the ephemera required in daily life on campus accessible ( phone , keys , iPod , pens , calculator , umbrella , trashy novels , etc . ) The water bottle holder on the side is really nice and fits a Nalgene-type bottle perfectly .
    • 034 4  Bought this for my daughter , who is going to college . Great size , and great appearance . Arrived quickly .
    • 035 4  It's really perfect for my 5 ' 9 tall self , and it looks really sharp . It's also very durable as far as I can tell . . . it will probably last 4 years in my possession .
    • 039 4  It was my first semester in College , well only this summer . The backpack is great in all aspect . well if i'd say the negative , it would be the straps , kinda too bad . but it's ok still .
    • 040 4  so . . . I got the red backpack knowing it would be burnt orange . And it's such a great color . I love it . There are great deep pockets all about just when you need to find them . People tell me how great my bag is and ask where I got it . There's room enough in this bag for a short weekend trip or to use as a day to day school bag . Fit's my laptop great ( although it doesn't have laptop specific padding if that's what you're looking for ) . Just to let you know , if there isn't anything in the bag , or if it's really light ( which I wouldn't imagine happening too often ) , the straps at the back of the neck might be uncomfortable . But this is a total aside since the truth of it is that this bag is awesome !
    • 041 4  I love this bag . It is the right size and not over the top with the pockets . The audio player pocket is not too ergonomic but this is a small minor problem compared to pros of the bag . When i went to school the next day i noticed that 3 other classmates have the same bag in different colors . Now i wish i had gotten the navy one . Everyone was in agreement . They each love the bag .
    • 045 4  Good looking bag that hauls plenty of stuff . Comfortable straps and the three compartments are great for separating gym clothes ( back section ) from office files ( middle section ) and personal items such as wallet , make-up bag , keys ( front section ) . I've even used it to carry home groceries ( two-mile walk ) with no problems .
    • 047 4  A good product . Great for everyday use . It was meant to be gift for my sister and she loved it .
    • 048 4  I bought this for my upcoming trip in a month , and so far so good . I love the look of it . Its great in size , but not bulky . I'm a little girl so that's nice . I had ordered the white and pink , but when I received it , I got white and green . The white and green is what I really wanted , but had trouble finding it . But other than that everything is great !
    • 049 4  I wish they wouldnt change good models . my previous model was like a superbreak but also had a large ipod zipper compartment on top where i stored my cell phone , wallet , etc . the old model also had compressions straps for when you're not carrying stuff and a waterbottle slot sort of like the air vital but with a small useful rear pouch . anyway , this one is okay .

    • 004 4  This review is from : JanSport Wasabi Core Series Daypack ( Sports ) I bought this for my husband to carry his laptop computer and other stuff when commuting . It's surprisingly better than we expected . with MP3 player pocket , and it's not that big like other Jasport bags . Besides , the 15.4 in laptop is perfect in it . Might buy one more for my son .

    • 018 4  I have always had great experiences with JanSport , but not with this bag . Yes , there is a lot of space , but i find myself digging into the pockets just to get my cell phone or my ipod out for my daily commute . I also love red backpacks , and I loved how vibrant the color was on the Amazon page . I was extremely dissapointed when the bag arrived and it was more orange than red . The straps are also rubbing up against my neck and the plastic clips that hold the straps in place are to easy to adjust . Meaning , if i hit them by accident when taking off the backpack it messes up the settings . My old JanSport was also made of thick , durable fabric , this is like waterproof , windbreaker material with annoying zippers .
