I would have perhaps even put up with the inconsistent and fuzzy images ( as I have it near my PC and mostly only ' listen ' to the TV ) , but the TV only responded to the remote intermittently ( same with my satellite remote programmed for the SHARP TV ) which I found very odd . You would think it would either work , or not work ! I have a SHARP 19sb14u with the titanium tilt base I got at Cost * o a few years ago which I like much better . It has a fine picture and nice remote . This unit was very cheaply made with a non-tilting ( and shorter ) base and a chintzy remote . I gave it 2 stars for the decent sound ( a bit better than the 19sb14u ) and the super low price . But back to Amazon it goes . I'll look for something else .

Really good picture - - didn't test side viewing because we have it set up angled in corner so that all views are good and has no outside light interference . I do agree with other complaints that the volume seems low on some programs , but I find that true with my other HDTVs on certain shows , so I think it must be in the broadcasting or something . 060 4 This TV was exactly what I was looking for ! I am using it for my PS3 / Wii and also as a monitor for my laptop , and it works perfectly for all 3 ! Be prepared to do a good bit of tweaking of the picture settings , but once you do the image is sharp , clear & vivid . Colors really pop . I read some complaints with the built-in sound , but it sounds fine to me when listening at it at a low to medium volume . It has a digital output if you want to connect it to external sound . I only had one very minor complaint , not enough to knock anything off of my rating but worth mentioning - there is no headphone jack on the TV . Otherwise , I couldn't possibly be more pleased with this purchase !

- Picture quality - really amazing for such a small inexpensive TV . I don't have a cable box for this TV . . . just plugged it into the ' analog ' RF cable that comes into my house . Once programmed the built-in cable tuner picked up 6 full HD channels as well as 80 or so analog std def . The analog 480i signals look ok , even in stretch mode . The full HD chanels ( 1080i and 720p ) are extremely crisp and clear . My main concern was about pixialtion while watching sports . None of that at all . Smooth action all the way as if you were right there . LCDs really have come a long way .
- PC connection - I initially used an analog VGA cable . I had to play with some settings in Windows 7 and adjust the TV a bit . The EDID information was not broadcast to my new Dell computer . Windows 7 only saw this as a generic PnP monitor so getting the correct resolution was a small challenge . ( Needed to ' unhide ' some resolution choices in hardware manager ) . Picture was perfect nonetheless . I then ordered an HDMI cable . Picture is the same quality but the computer actually recognizes this as a Sharp TV and now gives full list of resolutions . In addition you can also push your computer audio output through the TV if you want .
- Minor complaints - The manual is not clear but it does give you 4 favorite channels on the remote . Cool feature but the manual is worded almost like you can have 4 per button or 16 of them . Not a big deal . - There is one audio output on here and it's just a 1 / 4in headphone jack . I plugged my computer speakers in the jack but there is a noticiable hiss at low volumes . Same goes for the headphones I tried . It's too bad b / c the audio that comes from the on board speakers is OK at best . Good enough though I suppose for a compact TV .
Botton line - If you want a small HDTV with an awesome picture , buy this . Don't expect much from the speakers and use an HDMI cable if you intend to hookup to your PC . Keep in mind that there is only ONE HDMI input .

The sound and picture quality are good and I like the overall appearance of the TV . I would recommend this TV to others . I have had this TV less than a day and I consider this my best purchase from Amazon . It took me a total of 15 minutes to have the base attached , cable hooked up , and programed . I had looked at RCA , LG , Vizio , Samsung and several others and I am very happy with my choice . I have a small apartment and my TV sets on a rolling tv cart so I can move it back when I am thru watching it . So , I was impressed with the large base and stability . The TV I had before was a Coby 15 inch , and while that is a good TV , it can't compare to this one . I would suggest adding speakers to your purchase . I had ordered Altec Lansing speakers from Amazon before and they work perfect with this TV . The speakers hook into the headphones jack on the back of the tv and you still have a headphone jack on the speakers . The appearance of the tv is great and the size is just right . I had looked at 19 , 22 , 24 , and even 26 . I am sure glad I choose this size .
006 4 My father was recently hospitalized and is now spending much more time in bed than before . Moving the large TV into his bedroom was not an option , so I purchased this from a local retailer . The following notes are after a couple of days usage .
Pros : this is a very compact unit and is not too heavy . It fits on a hospital bed table ( like this one :
Hospital Overbed / Over Bed Top Table Computer Tray
) . This allows his caregivers to move the TV to easy viewing distance and is a real plus . I was concerned that the unit would be unbalanced , but the weighted base is more stable than I originally imagined . It seemed like it took a long time to find all the channels on his cable system during the initial setup , although I have not done this often enough with other TVs to judge . Finally , the basic controls are on the left side of the unit , and the TV can be operated without the remote .
Cons : The remote is not designed for use by an older person with declining eyesight . The controls on the side have no contrasting labels , only labels molded into the black plastic , and unless you have good lighting , it is difficult to use them . In my fathers case , the caregivers will probably be the only ones who can operate the TV .
One additional point , which was a pro for my situation . The plug is two-prong polarized , which works with my father's very old electrical wiring . A three-prong plug would have been a problem for me .
In our case , I placed the unit near the riser for the over bed table . This left a lot of space for other things if needed .
Recommended for anyone who wants a decent quality , small footprint TV .

Great picture quality , and the sound really fills the room ( huge improvement on the previous television that was flooded out ) . Very sleek looking casing to the tv as well , very stylish and modern looking .
My only complaint for this tv is that the tilt is not adjustable for the stand , so it has to sit straight up and down - and for the particular spot I have it in , this is not a good angle . I just put a pencil under the front of the stand to tilt it back a little bit and it looks fine . Can't even notice th at the pencil is there as the stand covers it well .

Yes , some say it takes a short time to actually turn on ( it does ) but for the HD picture and sound I don't mind a bit . Set up was a breeze and then the TV took care of the rest ! It sits in the corner of my kitchen very nicely and I would recommend this to anyone .

I'm using this TV in my office so didn't need much . . . but I got a lot more than I expected . Although the size and slight tinniness to the sound stops this from being a primary and only TV , it's absolutely perfect for an office , kitchen , or other backup TV in the house . I'm loving it !

035 4 Nice tv for the money overall . Its light and has a sharp picture . It takes some playing around to figure out what certain buttons are for and how / when to use them . This is not a television for a large room but works great in a medium or small bedroom , etc . If you're looking for a LCD television that won't cost a bundle , this is a wise choice . I wanted a affordably priced LCD television for the bedroom to replace a bulky CRT I'd used for many years . And I found one with this Shar tv . It had better reviews than some others I'd looked at and , so far , I have to agree . The picture is very good and there's plenty of adjustments , so making changes is simple . Being hearing impaired I was surprised at how well I could hear this tv compared to my older one . Set up was simple although the product manual is not very user friendly . . . confusing and unclear in spots but the average person should have no problems figuring things out on their own . The remote isn't ideal but it's adequate .

I replaced an old tube style TV in my bedroom with this tiny gem . First off , it looks so tiny , however , it was just the adjustment from a huge box , with the same screen , to a tiny panel , with the same size screen . The TV is very bright and looks awesome . I hooked it up to an upscaling DVD player and it looks amazing . The TV weighs about as much as a loaf of bread . It is not feature rich , however , that's fine with something this size . The base screws on easily . Had it up and running in about 5 minutes flat . The picture is very clean and crisp . No issues at all . Sound seems more than adequate . I don't know how much sound output you need for a TV that will be in an office or bedroom , anyway . Very pleased with this little TV . This is the third Sharp brand TV I've bought , and once again , very impressed . It's not all the bells and whistles , but it certainly does more than adequate .

With only 1 month of use , this TV is exactly as described and what I wanted . I am very happy with the purchase . Good picture , good sound . I just got this TV in the mail yesterday afternoon , and I wanted to try it out right away to make sure it worked ok . This is first TV I have bought mail order . Everything seemed to work ok , and I didn't even have to read the owner's manual to set it up . It was very easy to use , and all of the ports worked great . I can't wait to see if I will be able to pick up local channels when we are camping . I bought this to replace another Sharp TV just like it but that one didn't have HD and wasn't digital . This new one is lacking suffcient sound in the digital channels only , and I can't get some of the digital channels that I can get on a 37 inch Sharp Digital HD TV I have . Maybe it's the tuner . I have owned other Sharp products in the past and they were always very reliable . Even though this TV meets my basic needs , I'm a little disapointed in this product .

I gave this thing a shot because the reviews weren't as bad as those for most of the small lcd Tvs out there . I would have perhaps even put up with the inconsistent and fuzzy images ( as I have it near my PC and mostly only ' listen ' to the TV ) , but the TV only responded to the remote intermittently ( same with my satellite remote programmed for the SHARP TV ) which I found very odd . You would think it would either work , or not work ! I have a SHARP 19sb14u with the titanium tilt base I got at Cost * o a few years ago which I like much better . It has a fine picture and nice remote . This unit was very cheaply made with a non-tilting ( and shorter ) base and a chintzy remote . I gave it 2 stars for the decent sound ( a bit better than the 19sb14u ) and the super low price . But back to Amazon it goes . I'll look for something else .

This TV was exactly what I was looking for ! I am using it for my PS3 / Wii and also as a monitor for my laptop , and it works perfectly for all 3 ! Be prepared to do a good bit of tweaking of the picture settings , but once you do the image is sharp , clear & vivid . Colors really pop . I read some complaints with the built-in sound , but it sounds fine to me when listening at it at a low to medium volume . It has a digital output if you want to connect it to external sound . I only had one very minor complaint , not enough to knock anything off of my rating but worth mentioning - there is no headphone jack on the TV . Otherwise , I couldn't possibly be more pleased with this purchase !

Location is the top of our refrigerator which caused a problem . The TV does not tilt up or down and the viewing angle up and down is terrible . So much so that I had to buy a ceiling mount for it . With the ceiling mount in place I can tilt it down so the viewing is just fine . I really didn't feel like returning the TV and finding another one . Even if I did the tilt probably wouldn't have been low enough .
I purchased a small amplified HD antenna and A / B switch and I do get a few HD channels but the signals are not strong . I currently don't know if it's the antenna or the tuner in the TV . I have a high performance 52 Sony HDTV in the family room that gets strong signals with a non-amplified antenna . I used that antenna on this TV and got nothing . And you can't find a Sharp 19 LCD HDTV like this anywhere else for this price . I was a bit wary ordering a TV online , but Amazon has proved once again that it can ship anything well and securely . And once I attached the TV to the stand , it took only about 10 minutes to set the TV up to my cable and begin enjoying it .
The only other thing I'd note is that the TV stand is NOT adjustable as I'd assume it would be . However , the default angle its set at ends up being great and it only darkens slightly when viewed off to the side or from underneath ( as I was doing situps ! ) . The picture is just really good on this and you can make the screen pretty much as bright as you want . Overall , a great buy !

I bought this Sharp to bring Formula 1 into my den . It is fed by Time Warner cable through a cable box . After removing the excellent packaging , making a few simple connections , selecting input 3 , and connecting external speakers to the headphone jack , I enjoyed brilliant color , razor sharp images , and more sound than I need . 5 star because delivery was on schedule and after a few days nothing has failed to live up to the Amazon description .

The picture is amazing , and the sound does not seem as if it is coming from inside a tin can , which is often a problem with smaller LCDs . It has a very nice , clear , and full sound to me . The volume level at what I think would be a lower volume , is actually quite loud . When I am standing on the other side of my kitchen , I have no problem hearing or seeing it . I mounted it on one of those arms that swing out , so I can view it from either side of the kitchen . I have never turned the volume past the midteens . It is that loud .
I am very pleased with this TV , and the free shipping was amazingly fast . I ordered it on a Sunday evening , and it was delivered on Tuesday . Thanks , Amazon !
082 4 I was looking for a small TV mainly as a backup to my large one when it is unable to pick up the satellite dish signal , especially during dangerous weather . I got an inexpensive antenna from Wall Mart , attached it with no problem and it picks up all the local channels in this area .
I am very pleased with this TV and have had several positive comments from friends about the picture quality . I am a grandmother with very little techinal ability and I was amazed at how easy this set was to program . I also like that the screen can also be used with an computer . I would recomend this Sharp TV and am very pleased with my purchase . I went to several local stores and could not find anything of comparable value or quality . Thanks Amazon ! !

This is a great TV . Very easy to set-up . I did A LOT of comparison shopping between sites online and products in the stores . This was by far the best deal ! You won't be disappointed by this TV .

I placed this order on behalf of my 92 year old hearing impaired mother . Following order placement and before delivery I WEB searched reviews and became concerned that the speakers would not be loud enough . Pleased to report this suggestion is not a problem in our experience . Mum sits close to the set and listens comfortably with volume to spare .

It is a pretty good tv being I thought I was ordering a Sony , I asked my husband if it was ok to order this Sony and got a sharp . Woops - ( now he won't let me live it down LOL ) He doesn't like the picture-he thinks everything is distorted . Other than that it is a pretty good tv .

This little 19 television is perfect for a small bedroom or other small room . I hooked it up to my DVR from ATT and get High Definition at 720p . I'm looking for a larger model for my family room . Good product .

overall a great tv for the bedroom . if used other than a bedroom set you will not be happy with the audio of the tv . There is no provision for external speakers either .

Excellent value . Setting up the color took some practice and manipulation , but finally very satisfied . Delivery very quick and excellent packing . LCD's are not viewable from side angles , and screen is grey rather than black when TV is off , but otherwise it's a great buy .

Great tv for the money would have given it 5 stars but picture is a little red and must be adjusted manually and the speakers are a little weak.I can live with that as it is very sharp and clear , and an easy menu .

Small enough to sit under kitchen cabs , but picture big enough to be enjoyed within 12 - 15 feet . In fact , it's sitting on top of the direct tv box . Really good picture - - didn't test side viewing because we have it set up angled in corner so that all views are good and has no outside light interference . I do agree with other complaints that the volume seems low on some programs , but I find that true with my other HDTVs on certain shows , so I think it must be in the broadcasting or something . Anyway , great price from Amazon ( $167 ) for this quality . Shipped within a few days , very lightweight and easy to move around . Has HDMI port which makes it real easy for set up .

No matter what you do the picture wouldn't stay.Couldn't bring in channels , had hard time with just the normal channels.The remote is frustating . The sound & channel button are next to each other , you hit one when you wanted the other , plus if you didn't hit the dot button it wouldn't go to the right channel.At times the on & off wouldn't work .
Amazon was nice about the returning it.I like Amazon ! The tech . said it was in the tuner.Have to send in to fix .

I thought this would be a much better product based upon the reviews . I have seen much better values at Costco lately , including LED displays , built in DVD player and 22 screens .
Two things I really don't care for is the lack of a tilt-able screen and the fact it doesn't work right with my computer . I know a lot about computers and this device won't play nice with it . If you are going to offer PC and TV , why not picture in picture ?
