Sanyo SK-7S Space Saving Toasty Oven, Silver

  • 1 . Supercute . CONS : 1 . Ridiculously Difficult To Clean - - I am by NO means a clean freak , but I am fairly meticulous about runaway food on the counters , floors and in appliances . It is super hard to adequately clean this appliance with just a rag / paper towel and a quick swipe . The design / construction only allows for half the crumbs that fall to actually land in the crumb tray . The racks partially pull out when the door is opened ( WITH the door ) , and since most crumbs drop when placing items in and out of the toaster , the rest land on the door ( which , basically , serves as an extender to the crumb tray ) . You CAN'T remove the racks ( they're somehow attached to the door and move in conjunction with it ) so all the crumbs that fall on the door through the rack STAY there . Even when you jiggle , shake , and knock it over the garbage or sink . You need to somehow squeeze your hand in between the door and bottom rack or THROUGH the rack to try and dislodge all the crumbs . There's also a little lip on the door , where glass meets metal , and this creates a little crevice for all the crumbs to get stuck in . THEN , there's the space between the door ( on the bottom ) where it meets the rest of the toaster - - whatever crumbs are loose and DO fall from the door on their own land on THAT ledge and not actually in the crumb tray . It's just poorly designed ( for cleaning ) all across the board . 2 . It's Just A Toaster - - All it does is toast ! And unevenly at THAT ! It burns rolls , especially , where the element reaches through the racks . Despite the thin gridding on the rack , toasting to more than a golden color leaves a grill-type mark on the bread as if GRILLED . I've experimented with items and the toaster turning the dial to top & bottom with things just on the bottom or top , top for things on the bottom and vice versa , and , of course , used it as intended ( top & bottom when toasting items on top and bottom ) . Items almost always get burned on one side and nicely toasted on the other ; there's no happy medium . ( I have never used the Bagel's Best setting . ) If you want things evenly toasted , you need to flip halfway through to ensure so . 3 . Not Much Of A Space Saver - - It's got the same basic width and depth measurements as a regular toaster , though , SLIGHTLY more compact , but still only houses 2 pieces of normal-sized bread ( 3 if you cut one in half and divide between the two racks ) . I don't see how this item is any way more advantageous than a regular toaster . ESPECIALLY when it costs DOUBLE the amount ( according to an Amazon product search at time of review ) and as much as a regular toaster OVEN which both toasts AND bakes . 4 . The Timer Will Run Without Electricity - - For any energy savers out there , this is for you . I try to unplug whatever I can when not using it since items continuously use up energy even when not in use if still attached to an outlet . I do this with the toaster especially since it's easy to unplug and not used often , but a lot of times I forgot to plug it back in when I stick bread in there . The timer knob will still tick away , falsely giving the impression that it's plugged in , on , and heating your bread . Only til I come back 10 minutes later and see my still cold bread do I realize what I did . A small thing but VERY annoying , ESPECIALLY when you come back expecting to find warm crisp bread in there . Bumm-er ! 5 . The Provided Trays - - WHAT can anyone do with those things ? They're SO small and shallow , I can't imagine them having any actual , functional purpose . For anyone looking to this item , I'd suggest saving your money by getting either a regular toaster or investing a little more for an actual toaster oven which will , no doubt , serve you much more diligently than this thing .
    • 001 4  We bought this toaster oven from Amazon about 6 months ago . We were looking for something that could handle more than a standard toaster but not as complex as a lot of the other toaster ovens ( which could practically replace your full sized oven ) . This space saving design looked ideal . My initial disappointment came when I realized that there wasn't any temperature setting , just settings to specify how many of the heating elements you want used . Granted , this was probably somewhere in the description and I just failed to absorb that , but it just seems that a toaster oven should have more precise temperature settings . Nonetheless , if you work with it you can sort out how long to cook small items ( e.g . french fries ) and it does toast very well . But , I have to give it a low rating because the elements only intermittently turn on after only 6 months of low level use . Spend your money more wisely on a traditionally , high rated brand rather than this model which was a great concept that just does not perform .
    • 002 4  At 950 watts and with a footprint of less than 1 sq ft , this is especially suited for a studio apartment or for a kitchen with limited counter space and a limited number of electric circuits . It's also a true gem to put in a guestroom breakfast bar , or a vacation cottage , if you are lucky enough to have either one . It works well for an elderly relative in assisted living . ( Contrary to what the technical specifications state , this appliance does have an automatic shut-off feature . The timer shuts off after 15 minutes . ) As a toaster , it's relatively slow but it's versatile . E.g . , it handles bagels better than a regular toaster , warms up pastries nicely , and you can toast on only one side . On the down side , toasting anything DOES take longer , as another reviewer noted ; this may be because it has what appear to be light bars instead of metal heating coils or rods . So , no , it's not a down-sized equivalent of an oven , or even a toaster oven . The temperature control is set in the vicinity of 375 F . You can't broil , but you CAN bake just a few cookies . Whether you use one of the refrigerated rolls of cookie dough , or make your own batch of cookie dough , you can freeze the left-overs or divide the whole batch into in pre-cut portions . Then bake 2 - 4 cookies while you prepare dinner . ( What an aroma , to have them fresh ! and no temptation later . ) You can also let the kids / grandkids take out a portion , and bake them . A bonus is that the Toasty also makes superb English muffin pizza - - no soggy bottoms , like in the microwave . I also like it for melting cheese on toast . It also reheats a single slice of pizza very nicely . About replacement pans and clean up : You can buy one of the thinner style silicone baking liners ( be sure it's 100% silicone , with no fillers ) for a small pan and cut it to size for each of the pans . Clean up is VERY easy then , and since the liners are reusable , it's cheaper in the long run than lining the pans with aluminum foil . If you are , or have , a handy person around , you can also custom trim a couple of unglazed baking tiles to make your own little pizza oven . SUMMARY : Downside is that it's slower than a toaster , more limited than a toaster-broiler oven , and a tad pricey . But it's small and it's cute ! NOTE : To find a silicone mat without fillers , just bend it . If it turns white , the mat contains fillers , and it should not be cut .
    • 003 4  Innovative out of the box design . . . good quality ( so far ) , this new generation toaster oven exceeds my expectations . This Super Toasty - Bagel Best does indeed toast bagels excellently as well as bread , etc . Design saves counter space and offers more flexibility in heating things up . Only drawback : no temperature control . Heating is done by timer so you go by the timer times in the guide and go with that . Also you have a lot of glass so if you see something getting too brown you can quickly turn it off . Contrary to other reviews , I think it toasts just fine , thank you .
    • 004 4  Good looking , compact , fine for toast . However , with no thermostat one can only bake by time , and careful observation . I don't think it should be called a toaster oven , given this deficiency .
    • 005 4  Our counter space is at a premium , so this was perfect for our kitchen . The darkness setting is a little fidgety ( I have to keep an eye on it when I'm toasting ) , and there's less cooking space , but for the two of us it's fine . I snapped off one of the handles from the first one ( they ARE just plastic ) , but when I went shopping for another type to replace it I didn't find anything else that met our needs .
    • 006 4  These days , it's hard finding a simple toaster oven . Most of them are huge , have convection capability and complicated digital displays , etc . Not the Sanyo Toasty . I like it because it's very compact , tall rather than wide , and looks good in my retro kitchen . My husband , on the other hand , thinks it looks like something your dentist would use to sterilize drill bits , but he's getting used to the Toasty's offbeat design . It toasts bread and bagels just fine . Yes , there's no heat setting and others have complained about that . That drawback doesn't bother me . As long as you're not looking to heat up large or long items , the Toasty is fine .
    • 007 4  I like the size of this toaster oven - - it does not take up much counter space . I dislike the slowness of this item for making toast - - takes more than twice as long to toast bread as my old toaster did . Also , it is not really a toaster oven , as it does not have oven temperatures for baking . It seems to be designed mainly for toasting or heating things up .
    • 008 4  This review is from : Sanyo Space Saving Toasty Oven ( Kitchen ) We don't have a lot of counter space and we used our old toaster oven mainly for toast . So when replacing it I considered getting a regular toaster . Still , it's nice to be able to reheat pizza or fix fish sticks in a handy little toaster oven . Then I saw this one - - it has a small footprint ! It gets great reviews ! Can 42 people be wrong ? So I got it , and I was keen to like it too . But here's the low-down - - my list of pros and cons , when compared to a regular toaster oven or toaster . Pros : - - It has a smaller footprint than a regular toaster oven . Cons as a toaster : - - It takes 5 full minutes to toast bread . - - No cancel button . The only way to stop the oven when the timer dial is still running is to unplug it , and annoyingly , the timer will keep ticking . ( Opening the door doesn't stop it . ) - - You cannot figure out a toast darkness setting once and for all - - your preferred setting for your usual type of bread - - and then just start it . The timer dial does show darkness settings , but they're not too precise . So I end up having to watch the bread . ( But yes , the toast comes out perfectly fine . I did give it 3 stars . ) Cons as a toaster oven : - - You cannot set the temperature . - - The timer dial maxes out at 15 minutes and turning that dial is the only way to switch the oven on . So even for fish sticks that need 20 minutes , you have to go back and re-set it for 5 extra minutes . ( As for baking a small loaf of banana bread . . . forget about it . Anyway , the loaf pan wouldn't fit . See next point . ) - - The shelves are too small to fit a large slice of pizza , you have to fiddle with the slice to fit it in . So it's not really an oven at all , just a toaster into which you can put things horizontally . That's a useful feature , of course : you can make nice open faced sandwiches with melted cheese . But if you want to do more than that , this oven will annoy you . Stick to a regular toaster oven , and if counter space is an issue , just get one of the small ones .

    • 010 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) This toaster is definitely a space saver . There are a few things you need to know to get great food out of it though , for toast I turn the oven on before I get the bread out so that it is at a good temp when I put the slices in . If you want to bake something or toast a baguette sandwich just use the bottom burner . I like how the shelves come out when you open the door , it makes retrieving your food so much easier . All in all , it takes a few tries to adjust to this toaster oven , but it makes up for the initial awkward period by being so cute and small . I'm very happy with my purchase .

    • 012 4  Great for cooking frozen treats , french fries , cheese nuggets , etc . , without having to heat the oven . Very convenient for limited counter space . Does a great job for bagels , special settings . I have since given this for 2 house warming gifts .
    • 013 4  * * Before I go further , I must preface my review with the fact that I've used toaster ovens most of my life for toasting , not toasters , and my last toasting implement before this one was , indeed , a toaster oven . For the life of me , I cannot understand what all the 5 - star reviews are about . This item is just a glorified toaster - - a poorly designed one , at that - - and can't do anything a wide mouth toaster couldn't do . The name toasty oven is completely misleading since it implies that it is a toaster oven , which , no doubt , was NO accident and carefully named by the company . A far as I'm concerned , it's useless across the board since one can toast bread on a stovetop skillet more evenly than this can do ( as I did for months before my boyfriend purchased this without my knowledge ) . I would not recommend this to anyone , for any reason , unless they were making a purchase strictly based on aesthetics . That is basically the only pro I can see , as listed below . PROS : 1 . Supercute . CONS : 1 . Ridiculously Difficult To Clean - - I am by NO means a clean freak , but I am fairly meticulous about runaway food on the counters , floors and in appliances . • 014 4  The best surprise is the evenly toasted crunchy surface of the toast with just the right amount of moisture left in the center of the bread . I also am very pleased with the design . It looks like a little proofing box for rising dough . Very unique .
    • 015 4  I have purchased 6 Sanyo Space Saving Toaster Ovens - four toasters for other people that made a point of saying they wished they had one . I like the even toasting , they abiity to make open-face sandwiches , and the ability to toast or heat food with a variety of thicknesses . I own two toasters - one in a vacation rental in Fl and have had several people ask where they can I get THAT TOASTER . I wish it came in more colors .
    • 016 4  This replaced the same model that we used with no problems for over 5 years . We wanted a silver model to match the kitchen appliances . This a great toaster and does an outstanding job toasting nut . Can't beat it for size and usability .
    • 017 4  We've had the super toasty for about one month . Very good for our needs . Toasts very well , evenly and quickly . Perfect small size for our counter . Matches well with our black and chrome applicanes . No temperature setting is the only drawback . But we don't miss that much .
    • 018 4  Other reviewers stated this oven made ' perfect ' toast . They were right ! Fresh cut Italian bread . . . beautiful . Muffins . . . perfect . The timer on the toaster takes a little getting used to , but once you find the right time needed to make the toast the way you like it , it's great . Fits in a small space and actually looks ' cute ' . The crumb tray comes out easily and you can choose to use either the whole oven or just one of the three elements provided . The trays pop out when you open the door . . . no more digging out burnt toast from a regular toaster !
    • 019 4  I absolutely LOVE this toaster . It's the 4th one I'm purchasing , and it's not because they break ( the original one I purchased 18 years ago still works beautifully ) but rather I love it so much that I purchase them as gifts . It takes up less than a square foot of your precious kitchen counter space and it's clean design and roomy interior is perfect for toasting anything from bread to bagels to pigs in a blanket ! It's efficient use of volume is perfect without cluttering up your counter . . . a real bonus in NYC !
    • 020 4  I have this toaster oven since 2005 . . . it's used daily and have NEVER had a problem with it ! I LOVE IT and have recommended it to so many people over the years , because countless guests to our home have asked me about mine . I bought a Sanyo when they first came out about 10 years ago and only got this one in silver because we moved and the old one didnt go with my new kitchen . I gave it to a family member and it STILL WORKS just fine ! I highly recommend it because it takes up much less counter space than traditional toaster ovens . It's simple to use & easy to remove what you've cooked - - the trays are designed to pop out when opened so you don't burn yourself as well as easy to clean . Toaster ovens are designed for small & / or individual portions . Don't expect to cook a turkey in it : - )
    • 021 4  I love this Toaster as a toaster . It fits on my small counter just great and that is what I was looking for . As a toaster oven it's not that great . If you want a toaster oven that heats frozen pizzas , or other frozen items this is not for you . The timing is to unpredictable .
    • 022 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) Our first experience with this toaster oven was in a vacation rental and we really liked using it . I ordered one as soon as we got home . We like the size . it takes up much less counter space than the normal wide ones I had seen in the past . It has three burners and you can select them through the four settings on the selector knob . There is a mode called Bagel Best which just heats the middle burner so you can put each half of a bagel facing the burner and toast both halves at once . We use it to toast / heat up many different items . The unit works quickly and the darkness setting on the knob is calibrated very well . The first unit I received from Amazon was damaged ( broken burner tube ) , but Amazon replaced it VERY quickly . All in all I'd say this is an excellent toaster for reheating / toasting small items . We love it .

    • 024 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) We've been very pleased with this toaster oven after using it for a month . It toasts better than our previous toaster oven , takes up less counter space , and the ding when the toast is ready has been more useful than I thought it would be . Because of the narrow size , the racks cannot hold as large an item as a standard toaster oven , but that hasn't been a problem for us as we generally use it for toasting & reheating . ( The first product we received was defective - one of the heating elements was cracked - but Amazon quickly & efficiently replaced it ) .

    • 026 4  Great toaster , makes bagels just like the bagel shops ( crisp on the inside and soft on the outside-assuming you cut the bagel in half of course ) . Easy to make toast , however , it can only do two large pieces of bread at once , one on each rack . I had to put felt pads under the feet since the feet material made little black marks on my white corian type countertop . Easy to clean crumb catcher - just empty it a lot since it is a simple small pull out tray . DON'T try to take out the racks to put in the dishwasher like the pamphlet says is possible - or your toaster is toasted . We like ours a lot and it is well constructed and doors and racks glide in and out effortlessly . I may buy a couple more for my daughters to use too .
    • 027 4  I had one of these for years and cried actual tears when the lower element died . This is one of my favorite appliances . . . so space-efficient it could only have been designed by a woman : ) So excited to see it again ! I'll definitely be getting another one soon .
    • 029 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) Love this toaster , been using one for the past 15 years . Quick , perfect delivery . This was a no brainer , not a better toaster any where . I just do not see them in the stores anymore . Try one , you will never go back to your old toaster . • 031 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) Short in stature but big on service . . . great for bagels , pizza , burgers , grilled cheese sandwiches and more . Toast , grill , heat , melt - this appliance delivers what the wide-guys do in a narrow , upright format . I love this appliance !

    • 033 4  In looking for a space saving toaster oven in stores , it was impossible to locate something that was affordable . A quick search on Amazon yielded this little beauty , and I was quick to scoop it up since no outside store seems to carry it . I was impressed right out of the box . The size is amazingly compact , yet it packs a punch when heating up pizza , sandwiches , french fries , even chicken nuggets that the kids love . The fact that it does not have a heat control has not negatively affected performance , since the three toast settings of light , medium and dark are fine for the average bagel and then the longer times can be used for the items mentioned above . It takes a bit of getting used to in terms of the top and bottom heating rack , you have to remember to always use the top tray for toast if you want both sides toasty , and even still one side is always a bit less browned , but I am for the most part thrilled with this little appliance and highly recommend it for anyone looking to neaten up their kitchen counter tops , or for students in dorms , studio apartments , or offices . Very well worth the money . I hope it lasts a long time .
    • 034 4  We received the smaller version of this toaster oven as a wedding gift 19 years ago . We used it almost every day , and it still works great . But over a couple decades , the white finish yellowed and the inside of the glass got some scorched-on stains from stuff we left in too long . For several years , I've tried to find another , but couldn't . I had assumed they had quit making them Recently , I tried again and found this one . It's a little larger , but still fits in roughly the same space . The ticking of the timer is a little noisier than the older model , but I like the Bagel Best setting that lets you toast only the cut side of a bagel . Acts well as a mini-broiler , too . Personally , I like the stainless steel finish better than the white . It's an unusual design , but one to which we've become quite accustomed . I'm very happy to have found it .
    • 035 4  This is the best toaster oven we have ever had . I am so glad I found it on Amazon . It makes great toast , better than the expensive DeLonghi we returned after trying this one . I hope they make it forever , cuz when it dies I want to replace it with another just like it . It takes up very little counter space , doesn't get real hot on the outside , is really easy to clean . Just a great product . I wonder why they don't sell these in stores ?
    • 036 4  This is my third Toasty . Yes , it is not perfect , but I really think it is great . After setting a tortilla on fire and my toaster , which in flames I threw out on my deck , I knew I needed something I could see visually to what was happening . After the first purchase I then bought one for my sister for her Birthday and then recently one for my other sister . If you are doing big jobs this may not be for you , but for a single or double user it works out very well for toasting and broiling small portions .
    • 037 4  We are on our second Toasty and are about to order a third . Our tiny kitchen in our tiny bungalow has minimal counter space , and this seems to be the only toaster oven that doesn't gobble up space . It toasts just fine and we see no need for anything more .
    • 038 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) I had my previous Sanyo Toasty Oven for about 3 years before the timer broke . I could not find anyone who could replace / repair the timer , so I purchased a new Sanyo Toasty Oven . It takes up less space than other ovens , it is great for toasting bread , muffins & bagels , and the color matches my decor .

    • 040 4  I can't understand why this product is not more popular with people with small kitchens who do not have space for a regular size toaster oven and a toaster . This takes up no more space than the average toaster , but it also allows you to heat things that cannot go into a vertical toaster .
    • 041 4  Absolutely the best toaster oven . This is my second one . I used the first toaster for over ten years ; it's still working-I just wanted a new color !
    • 042 4  This is our third SK - 7 toaster oven . We use ours daily . They seem to have a useful life of around 10 years and then the elements start to flake out . Very compact and versatile , given the size . In a small kitchen they are a life saver . Highly recommend !
    • 043 4  We have one of these ; it's over 10 yrs old ! Works great , fast , unlike micro , it will brown . Nothing like for reheat'g pizza ! ! ! It'll do this single slice at time , but works great for frozen waffles . Would give one to everyone I know if could afford it .
    • 044 4  We do like the small footprint in our small NYC kitchen , but this toaster takes its time ! When I set the dial on the darkest , it takes well over 5 minutes and the toast is still very light . It takes about 8 minutes total to get it toasted , not dark even , just medium . Also , there's no way to turn it off , so if you want to take out the food prematurely you just have to let it sit there empty and wind down .

    • 047 4  My old toaster oven is getting dirty and worn out , so I was looking for a replacement . After doing some search and reading , I decided to gett this space saving oven . It fits a piece of toast nicely . The design is simple . I tried not to get the complicated digital ones , because the more complicated it is , the easier to break . Overall , I am very please with this purchase .
    • 048 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) This Sanyo Toasty toaster oven is a replacement for one purchased at least 15 years ago . We liked it because it takes very little counter space and does an excellent job of toasting . We bought a new one because , after remodeling our kitchen , we wanted the shiny silver model . ( One of our sons is getting the old white one for his new house . ) You can toast on the top or bottom separately or both at once . Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver You will love this toaster !

    • 052 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) Looks good . Takes little space . But limited options . 15 minutes max time . No option to turn it on without the timer . Basically it is just for toasts .

    • 054 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) My mother bought this toaster in white more than 20 years ago . It was working fine , but she'd painted it several times at the top , and the paint looked shabby . She didn't use heat resistant paint , and it started to crack , so I decided to buy her a new one ( the same thing ) only in silver . She thought that perhaps the stainless one was stainless steel , and athough when she called the manufacturer they told us that it was stainless , it's not . It's painted , same as the white one . We never did figure out why the silver model cost less than the white , but we were happy to save some money . Our old white toaster is in the garage as a spare . There's nothing wrong with it , other than the paint cracking and looking dingy . We could have kept using it indefinitely . If you want a workhorse that's space efficient , multi-purpose , long lasting and cost effective , this is the one to get .

    • 056 4  This review is from : Sanyo Space Saving Toasty Oven ( Kitchen ) Perfect for all those small jobs like grilled cheese , frozen pizza , bagel pizza , etc . Fills the gap between your bread toaster and the full sized oven . This one replaced my 20 plus years old Sanyo oven . I was so satisfied with the first one , I bought this replacement . Same nice quality , Sanyo did not cheapen the product . Works well , has a small footprint , and beautiful styling that fits well into your kitchen .

    • 058 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) It is compact , neat , and provides more flexibility than a conventional toaster , at the price of perhaps a slightly longer toast time . It does the job , and does it well , but it is a toaster , not much of a toaster oven . Dislikes : ( i ) It does not shut off automatically when the door is opened . ( ii ) It has a clockwork timer that has several toasted-ness settings - you need to ignore those and learn to mentally calibrate it yourself . Not hard , but you need to know . ( iii ) It gets hot on the exterior . So if you find yourself reaching behind to pull the plug ( did I mention there is no auto-shutoff ? ) , be careful . All that said , dagnabit , I like this thing !

    • 060 4  I live alone now in a rather small house . This is exactly the kind of toaster oven I need . I experimented a bit making toast before giving my regular toaster away . Some give it a negative mark for having no thermostat the user can set . It seems to heat up to about 375 degrees and the only control is time . This suits me fine . I am not good enough of a cook to fiddle around with different heat settings . So , as you can see , I am giving it an upcheck from the point of view of an old coot living alone who needs something simple to warm up his grub .
    • 061 4  I first purchased the Sanyo Toaster Oven approximately twenty years ago , and I loved it . It is tall and takes up much less counter space than the conventional ones . My trusty toaster was white , and over the years it got a bit discolored - but I never once had a problem with it working . I just purchased a new Toasty Oven from Amazon - at a great price of $50 with free shipping - in the silver color and retired my old white one . The new one looks and works the same way my old one did , and I am very happy with it . I use it mainly for toasting bread . If you need a basic toaster , I would absolutely recommend this one .
    • 062 4  I wanted a small toaster oven that has great performance to fit in a small space on my kitchen counter . I have been very happy with this toaster oven , except if I want to turn off the oven fast when I see toast getting too dark . Then , it is a struggle to move the button to the off position without feeling that I am going to break it . But , I am still getting used to the toaster settings and soon will not need to worry about turning it off too soon if toast is getting too dark . It toasts evenly and works perfect for our needs . I would recommend this little space saver and my friends were impressed on the amount of counter space it saves . They are going to order one now !
    • 063 4  I just read an unfavorable review and feel the need to chime in here , in defense of a great appliance which I heartily recommend , and would buy again in a heartbeat . I bought mine well over a year ago and have had no performance issues with the toaster at all . True , it doesn't have specific temperature settings , but between choosing one's combination of burner elements to use and the timer function , pretty much all bases are covered and there's no lack of versatility . Mastery of this little machine is achieved within , like , just a couple of toastings . Looks may not be everything , sure , but everyone who visits invariably remarks and asks about my toaster . It's just that cool-looking , no bull . The usual toasters you see at Target or wherever are bulky , shoddily built , and poorly designed . I adore and endorse my wonderful Toasty , without any reservations whatsoever . Call me a Toasty fanatic . I am .
    • 064 4  a great purchase ! love the design and very functional . works well as a toaster but could use some refinement as an oven toaster . its oven-like capabilities are limited . there are no oven temperature settings . you wind the time module and let it run .
    • 065 4  Just bought this toaster 2 months ago and have it is just perfect for our apartment space . It's not slow at all not sure what some people meant in the customer review . It is small and at times we have to cut up the bread to fit ; but that's okay . Design is cute too . But bottom line ; efficient . In one review I read someone had this for 12 - 14 years - worth getting one .
    • 066 4  I love that this toaster / oven is so compact . . . BUT oven is misleading . It is just a toaster . There are no temperature controls for an oven setting . I have tried to find ways to get around this but failed . If anyone can inform me as how to use it as an oven , I would appreciate it . Also , it is NOT ver easy to clean . The racks are not removable making it hard to clean the inside of the oven or the racks .
    • 067 4  I really like my Toasty . I purchased this toaster because we needed one that would fit in a narrow space and this worked perfectly . We've used it for a variety of toasting and it seems to do the job well . Also , the color is nice . Its a lighter matte silver than normal and its easy to clean . The only down side is that its a tight squeeze to put 4 pieces of some of the larger pieces of bread in at a time , but it does work . Also , the toast turns out just a tad dry , but I think that's pretty typical for a toaster oven . Good deal , especially if your counter space is limited .
    • 068 4  I love this vertical shape that really saves space in my kitchen . It is small but powerful enough to work as toaster oven .
    • 070 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) had mine about a month now . . . use it mainly for toasting-excellent ! . . . even , predictable heating from the three quartz elements . Also been using it to heat up tamales wrapped in foil . Seems to stay remarkably clean if you use the provided trays to catch any drips . Crumb tray does its job - simple to remove and replace , just slide out and slide back into position . Love the way the racks move outward with your food when you open the door so you're less likely to burn your fingers.I could probably bake a potato in it if I really wanted to as long as I were willing to turn the timer dial 5 - 6 times . . . lol ! Highly reccomended .

    • 072 4  great product . . . our second one . . . the first only lasted 20 + years and still worked but the outer finish was worn and discolored . . . . extremely handy appliance . . . .
    • 073 4  Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver I made this purchase on looks alone and because the Toasty Oven takes up so little counter space . This toaster oven is perfect for my small kitchen . I love the way it works and especially because you can use the top , middle and bottom shelves independently .
    • 074 4  I had a Sanyo toaster-oven for so many yearsI couldn't remember where I got it . It just got that very old look and wanted to replace it ( even though it still worked ) . I looked up Sanyo toaster-oven and up popped the exact item I was looking for . I was suprised to see that it was coming from Amazon . I plac ed my order and got it ( shippinng free ) in a few days . It is absolutely perfect in every way .
    • 075 4  My kitchen is small . There are only two of us in the household . This item is an excellent space saver . For toast , quick melts , and warm ups this oven does the job .
    • 076 4  We're moderately happy with the toaster oven . It's small so it doesn't take a lot of space on the counter , and it does a fine job of toasting bread and English muffins . However , it is very very slow . It makes it a little difficult to time having your toast ready at the same time as your eggs . It also is really just a toaster - - so small it'd be difficult to do any frozen meals , etc . Truthfully I haven't tried anything but toast though .
    • 077 4  I bought this for the space-saving feature , which is terrific ( and it looks good ) . I expected a toaster oven but it is really only a toaster - - it could use a little more power so that it would toast more quickly , but eventually it gets the job done .
    • 078 4  This toaster is great ! It's a real space saver with big toaster power . This seller is wonderful too . Packed with care and received quickly and safely ! A + to all !
    • 079 4  This toaster oven has plenty of rom and does just about everything in the way of toasting and / or baking . It is small enough to be stored away and yet takes up little counter space when in use . It can cook on one or two shelves and gives a ringing sound when it has completed its job . It is ideal for a kitcheen with little counter space and for use in the office . It has two shelves and two separate toasting / baking ranges . It even has a cooking timer that rings when its job is done .
    • 080 4  This review is from : Sanyo SK - 7S Space Saving Toasty Oven , Silver ( Kitchen ) this does not do a very good job . I am very disappointed based on the reviews I read . I may toss it out soon .
