Casio Men's MTG900DA-8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch

  • 053 4  Solid masculine watch . Perhaps larger than expected , but wears comfortably . All functions operational . No winding , no regular resetting required , very convenient to use .
    • 034 4  this is a very good watch and it is always the right time and hold very good againts drops and bumps .

  • 069 4  This watch is supposed to update each day and synchronize ( by radio wave transmission ) to the most correct time possible by synchronizing with the Atomic Clock located somewhere in Colorado . There is a button on the watch you can press in order to see the last time the watch has successfully synchronized . When I received the watch new in the package I checked and it had not been synchronized for about 6 months . I tried to do a manual synchronize process which did not work . I left the watch out on my dresser so it could synchronize automatically and this attempt also did not work . So , the first day out of the box , the watch did not synchronize with the Atomic Clock . Apparantly the watch just needs a day to wake up and get used to it's new home , because it has operated flawlessly ever since . I love the watch , it's look , it's easy to read and it's comfortable . Maybe the cardboard box it comes in reflects radio waves ? I don't know . Other than day one of my ownership , the watch works great !
    • 004 4  I love it . I have a number of watches most far more expensive than the G-Shock . The G-Shock is the ultimate watch - no winding , no battery , self setting , always accurate . Will be buying more for family and friends at Christmas or birthdays .
    • 010 4  Aside from being heavier than any other watch I've owned , it does exactly what I wanted in a watch . No problems and works fine .
    • 013 4  I love my new watch . I love that the battery recharges itself . Just reurned from London and loved how easy it was to go to London time on my watch and still see what time it was in Los Angeles . I hghly recommend this stong , sturdy and efficent watch to all .
    • 015 4  I have a very physical line of work and have put this watch to the test it has been dropped , dragged , and many other things . It has even dove in the swamp with me . I also wear it outside of work , to go out and such . great watch , if it breaks tomorrow i would buy another .
    • 018 4  My kids gave this watch about two years ago as a Father's Day gift . I have worn it everyday at work and never had any problems with it . I love that it sets itself and runs on the sun . But my favorite feature is at night or in the dark when I bring my wrist up to look at my watch , it automatically turns on the back-lit display making the time easy to see . Great feature . the watch is tough too . I've dropped it numerous times with no problems and no scratches on the watch face . Great watch !
    • 019 4  It is everything that I expected to be . The manual that comes with the watch is too small to read ; however , a readable version is readily available at the Casio site for downloading .
    • 028 4  I really enjoy my new watch . It was no problem getting it set to the correct time zone . I do some mechanical work and feel that it is a very rugged watch which can stand some abuse .
    • 035 4  The watch works well , but is as thick as a brick . I could not tell from the pictures how high off my wrist this watch would set . It will not fit under most men's long sleeve shirts .
    • 037 4  This is my second one . The battery in the first failed at the 5 year point . Buying a new battery plus shipping and professional installation approach $55 . A new one for $20 more is well worth it . This is a great value and product . I highly recommend this watch .
    • 040 4  This watch keeps the perfect time . . . . time after time ! A bit big , but it takes a beating and keeps on glowing ! I wish the price wasn't so high when I first bought it ( I paid over $100 ) .
    • 044 4  This is a Great Watch ! I purchased it for my husband who is very hard on watches . He is a fisherman , and every watch he has ever had eventually gets water inside it even though it is supposed to be waterproof . So far this watch is actually waterproof . With the solar feature , hopefully it will stay waterproof because it will not have to be opened to replace the battery .
    • 045 4  I bought this watch for my son's birthday . It combines legendary G-shock reliability with the convenience of atomic timekeeping and solar power . The bracelet , though not solid link is very comfortable and it is very easy to size .
    • 049 4  This is the second watch I have within 3 years . The time is very accuracy and it is very strong but the problem is after one year , it looks cloudy from inside , and it is the same as the previous one . I think water went through and sometimes I can not see the time . Also , the price is too much . I do not recommend any one to buy it
    • 055 4  This is a good watch for active people , that want an atomic watch , solar powered watch and a heavy duty watch . I iove it's price and quality . I always was either a Timex or Casio owner , for a watch .
    • 056 4  The watch is pretty much what it's described to be . I've had it for a couple of months now and it looks and works fine so far .
    • 072 4  Very rugged , yet stylish weekend watch . I love to wear this all day long . Accurate time keeping , tough solar that never seems to need a charge . I wish Casio made more G-shock watches with a metal bracelet like this one . This makes it look more dressy compared to the resin band G-shocks which I wear to the gym mostly . I would recommend this to my best friend .
    • 074 4  I got this watch to my husband for Christmas and he loves it so much . He wears it all the time evern when he is taking a shower or sleeping .
    • 079 4  Watch does everything it says it will do . Honestly I though it would be a little heavier . I like a heavy watch ! The only ding is the last links of the band are not metal but a resin or something . Besides that I love the watch and I recommend it highly .
    • 084 4  The watch alarm sound fails to work . A question to Casio was not much help . I don't plan to use the alarm function anyway , so I'll just live with it .
    • 085 4  I love this watch . I has all the features I want in a watch . It is accurate , tough , and does not need battery changes . It has the time , day of the week , month and day of the month in an easy to see display .
    • 089 4  This watch is a mans watch not for kids , the watch is big as many other people have stated but very comfortable . The watch appears to be very well constructed and probaly has more features than I will ever use but they are there if I ever decide to read the large manual that comes with the watch . The watch does run big and I will have to take mine to get a link taken out of the banad for it to fit correct but casio planned for that I guess as they placed removalable pins in the band for this reason . I have only had the watch for a few days so can not give a complete opinion yet but so far it is a great watch , very perfessional looking .
    • 091 4  Just a great watch for me . I don't like metal bands but this one is confortable on my wrist . I like not having to set the time and mine will set with Colorado even while sleeping without having to place near a window or take off my wrist . I highly recommend this watch .
    • 098 4  Watch was a good value . Very high quality , set and working right out of the box , Needed magnifying glass to read instructions though to figure out how to set alarms . . . .
    • 100 4  I bought this watch for my husband's birthday last month . He likes it very much . It is nicer looking than in the picture and it has lots of functions . My husband loves gadgets , so this watch suits him well . So far , the watch works well .
    • 105 4  I am totally satisfied with my purchase . I was quite amazed at the speed of delivery . I received my purchase within four ( 4 ) days . Four ( 4 ) days from U.S.A warehouse to a Post Office in Barbados is unreal .
    • 106 4  I bought this as a present for my autistic brother , who is a fanatic about accuracy on time . This makes him happy , not only because its accurate , but also because it supplies the day of the week and date as well . It makes me happy because its durable and can withstand the shocks of his job , which is very physical . This was very moderately priced for all that it does and was well worth the money .
    • 109 4  The Seiko G-Shock is the perfect watch - never needs winding - never needs batteries - never needs setting - waterproof to 650 feet and shock resistant . All for less than any other watch I own . A real bargain . I love it . Buying another for my son on his first Father's Day .
    • 117 4  I had the cheaper black model , which I loved , but after 9 months it started dying , and would not fully charge , even after leaving it in full sunlight for hours . I sent it to Casio for repair , which was covered under the warranty ( 1 year ) . But six months later , it started dying again . I sent it in to Casio again , but they wanted $87 to repair it , even though it was the same problem . So I bought this one , in hopes that it will last longer .

  • 087 4  I bought this watch about a week ago . I love it ! I had a Casio G shock that I bought in 1996 , I just recently broke it to the point I was un-repairable , it was a plastic / rubber watch , not the metal like this one , but besides replacing numerous straps because of them snapping after being caught on something , and replacing the battery only once , I was stuck on Casio's G shock line . So I researched for about 2 months and thanx to the reviews on amazon I decided on this one . The metal looks stylish , and hopefully won't snap as easily as the plastic one which I had before . I have already taken this watch in the lake , pool , and work It is truly a everyday watch , I only remove it for sleep and showering . The manual did take awhile to get through and to understand all the functions , but other then that and having to have the band re sized to fit . I have had no problems .

    • 090 4  I have had this watch for almost 10 years and it has never needed a battery or any maintenance whatsoever ! It is durable as can be possible . The chrome and glass have not scratched or peeled at all . The plastic part of the wrist band has faded some but not enough to look bad . I wear the watch all the time and never take it off for fear of loosing the best watch I have ever had . Everyday it shuts down to update the exact time . After this long the time is still EXACT ! The watch goes to sleep when it is not moved thus saving battery power . In my experience this is the absolute best watch in the world overall . I have had many others to include Seiko and Bruen . This is one beats them ALL ! Dar
      • 022 4  THIS WATCH DOES ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING THAT MY CASIO MEN'S G-SHOCK SOLAR ATOMIC WATCH # GW700A - 9V DOES AND HAS ALL THE SAME FEATURES . I PREFER THE GW700A - 9V BECAUSE I THINK THAT THE RESIN BAND IS MORE COMFORTABLE AND EASIER BY FAR TO ADJUST AND IN MY OPINION IT JUST PLAIN LOOKS BETTER . I'M TIRED OF DEALING WITH METAL WATCHBANDS THAT HAVE TO BE SPECIALLY ADJUSTED WITH SPECIAL TOOLS AND THEN STILL MIGHT BE TOO LOOSE OR TOO TIGHT . ALL TIME-KEEPING AND OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THESE TWO WATCHES ARE IDENTICAL . Casio Men's G-Shock Solar Atomic Watch # GW700A - 9V

    • 095 4  This seems to be a rugged , accurate , and trouble free watch . Easy to read numbers . I replaced my 15 year old Timex and so far it seems like a winner .
      • 039 4  the watch was just as it was advertised and just what i wanted , thank you very much.I am very satisfied .
      • 048 4  The only thing that I don't like about it is the raised rubber around the display .
      • 096 4  It is just as promised . Although I am not sure what the time memory stamp is for . And of course the Amazon price can't be beat .

    • 103 4  Very sturdy watch that requires no maintenance . I've had mine for over 3 years with no problems . If it weren't so heavy and bulky , I'd have given it 5 stars .

      • Atomic Clock setting : I never have to set the time . EVER . This atomic clock searches for a signal at the same time every day to ensure correct time setting - even knows when DST is on or off . There is even a signal indicator so that wherever you set it when you come home , you know it has a good ( or bad ) signal and will be able to set itself come sync time . You never have to set a THING ! Battery indicator : This thing relies on solar power . It sat in a dark gift box for 2 months and when I opened it the battery indicator was at medium . After setting it on a window sill for a day ( in Michigan in DECEMBER , where days are only something like 8 hrs long ) , the battery was at full - and hasn't gone down to medium ever since . Auto-off and Auto-light : When it's too dark for too long , the display actually turns off to conserve battery . When you press a button , it turns back on for a minute or so . It can also sense tilt , so when you bring the watch up to an angle to check the time , the light comes on automatically ( feature can be turned on / off ) ! This is a great feature . Just the natural motion of you checking your watch makes the light go on . I always find myself tilting my watch up and seeing the indigo backlight come on while in the movie theater and then giggling - it's almost as if the watch is reading my mind by knowing that I want to see the time and it's dark ! This feature is very smart , as it will actually NOT work when it's light out to conserve battery - another thing you never have to worry about ! Mode1 - time : your standard time display - hr / min / sec , date , day . You can choose between 12hr and 24hr time . Mode2 - alternate time zone : useful if you travel a lot . It displays the alternate time zone in big numbers , and your default time zone is in small numbers at the bottom of the display - so you always know the time difference in case you want to call home ! Mode3 - Time record : I haven't found a use for this yet . At any time throughout the day , you can press the time memo button . This button records the current time / date down to the second and then stores it ( in mode3 ) . You can then switch to mode3 and review all your recorded times ( up to 30 of them ) . I have not found a use for it yet . I guess if you wanted to keep track of when the sun sets every day or at what time you arrived to work - this would be a useful function for you . Mode4 - alarms : this thing has 5 separate alarms ! This is very useful to me , especially since I like to keep an eating schedule ( if you've ever tried Eating for Life , then you know what I mean ) . There are alarms 1,2,3,4 , and SNZ . The SNZ is my morning alarm clock . It goes off every 5 minutes for a duration of 30 minutes . You can press a button to snooze the timer ( just like an alarm clock ) . Then the rest of the alarms are set for when I need to eat . It works perfectly if you need daily reminders for pills , injections , etc . Mode5 - stopwatch : your standard stopwatch function . It can be stopped so you can write down a recorded time while the stopwatch is actually still operating , then once you recorded the time you can go back to the stopwatch and stop it again for record if you need to . The watch itself does not record these times , you would have to write it down . One feature I like is the fact it displays the current time on the bottom of the display so you don't have to ever switch back and forth .
        • 001 4  I surveyed vast field of digital choices before getting the watch a month ago , and I'm well satisfied . Most digital watches ( as opposed to analog with hour and minute hands ) are ugly , IMO , so my surveying has mainly been frustrating . I found a nice line of digital Casio Edifices , with big digits and glimmering colorful faces , which served for a while , but has apparently been discontinued a year or two ago , and my last one quit working two months ago . I bought this watch , grimacing at the price , just because it wasn't particularly ugly and had big digits , but it exceeded my meager expectations . The manual was a bit of a slog - it took about 20 minutes to read , but well worth it . The features are outstanding - about 5 alarms , one of which can be set for snooze alarms , the expected stop watch , easy access to Greenwich Meridian Time , markers for noting times , a backlight , waterproof enough for scuba diving ( not that I dive ) . The special features include checking with a radio signal daily so the time is always correct ( important for catching my buses and winning arguments about what time it really is ) , solar power ( so run-down batteries should never be a problem ) , and backlighting that turns on when one turns one's wrist ( surprisingly convenient ) . A nice touch is when one cycles back to the time , the watch gives a different unobtrusive beep . There are other features available on other watches - tape recorders , flash drives , altimeters , compasses , but none that sound remotely useful in the long run . I had to shorten the well-built wriststrap by 5 or 6 links , a little tricky , but any watch shop could do it in 5 minutes . If you want a big , full-featured , easy-to-read and operate digital watch , this is the one , and I've surveyed most of them . Post originally written mid-January , this added 2 - 25 - 07 : I've found there might be problems with battery life , or maybe it is just the Seattle winter . I've had to leave my watch sometimes under a light when the power get low , and changing the battery can only be done by Casio , according to one watch shop . Also , the price on the watch is coming down quickly to more reasonable levels . I still like it a lot , despite having to juice it up from time to time .
        • 002 4  I've had this watch almost 5 years now , so I thought I should sit down and write a quick review of it . I'm the kind of person that tends to break a lot of watches , so it's amazing to me that this watch has lasted this long at all - although the buttons and part of the front bezel have been beat up pretty good . First , the things I really like about this watch are : 1 ) Because it sets itself off of the atomic clock in Denver every night , it is completely accurate - the longer I wear it , the more I find myself setting all the other clocks I use by this watch . As a reference , I live in Austin , TX and have never had a problem getting a signal - it also picked up the change in daylight savings when congress decided it needed to change the dates ( thanks to the atomic clock ) . 2 ) The solar power is also a great feature , I've found that it sits on full power from about March through November each year . Once the days get noticeably shorter , it tends to settle on the second highest battery setting until spring . This doesn't impact the performance at all , but it does give me an idea how much sunlight I'm getting . 3 ) This thing is completely waterproof and very tough . Believe it or not , I actually throw it in the dishwasher when it gets dirty and it comes out sparkly clean . It's been through some beatings that would have completely destroyed pretty much any other watch and it still works perfectly . 4 ) I really love the auto-backlight feature . It's very convenient not to have to push any buttons to see the time at night . 5 ) I also like how easy it is to adjust the time by just changing the timezone whenever I travel . This wouldn't be complete without a list of things I don't like , so here they are : 1 ) I really wish this watch had a countdown timer instead of the databank feature . I've found the databank to be pretty useless , but I think I would use a countdown timer quite a bit . 2 ) Going back to the dishwasher theme , this watch does tend to get pretty dirty since it has some large recessed areas . The reason I even tried the dishwasher in the first place was because it was kind of a pain to clean any other way . Overall , I really like this watch and would recommend it to anyone . If I ever do manage to break it I will definitely be replacing it with another one of the Atomic-Solar G-Shock models .
        • 003 4  I bought my Casio MTG900DA - 8V over four years ago , and I was surprised to find it still being produced and sold by Casio as I browsed Amazon's watch selection . Overall , I think it is a great timepiece , and I have never regretted buying mine . But , you will notice that I only gave it four stars , because like anything made by man , it isn't perfect . Here's the scoop : Pro's 1 . Superb accuracy . I live near Atlanta , Georgia , which is probably close to the limit of this watch's radio reception range . But even here , my watch will sync with the atomic time station over 99% of the time . But as another reviewer said , you will probably have to experiment with locations within your house where you leave the watch for its overnight radio sync process . 2 . Not just water-resistant , this thing is waterproof . I have worn mine while doing all kinds of nasty chores , including mowing , weeding and related dirty jobs . And when I get in the shower afterward , I just leave the watch on so that it gets a good clean-up , too . Never a problem . 3 . Very tough . Again , I've worn mine doing some pretty harsh work , including using a chain-saw , axe and hammer . Never a problem . 4 . The solar power is great . Some people may think that solar power is a gimmick , but here's the deal : since you should never have to replace a battery , your water-resistant ( or waterproof ) watch will stay that way . All my previous watches , including some pretty expensive ones , lost their water-resistance after they had a battery change . ( Casio does say that their rechargeable batteries may need replacing some day , but mine are still going strong after more than four years . ) Con's 1 . This watch is BIG . It is about 15mm thick and is about as big around as the old-style silver dollars . If you have a small wrist , this watch may not be for you . 2 . The band and SOME of the bezel appear to be stainless steel . After four years , the stainless steel parts of my watch still look OK , even after the hard life my watch has had . But , the stainless steel band is connected to the watch with a big final link that appears to be made of some type of plastic ( or resin as Casio likes to call it ) . This plastic has held up well , but it has faded in color somewhat . Also , there are what appear to be anodized aluminum parts decorating the four corners of the bezel . The anodized surface of the aluminum has begun to wear off , leaving these aluminum parts looking somewhat mottled . Conclusion 1 . My Casio MTG900DA - 8V has had four years of very hard use . It is as accurate as ever , all the features work as advertized and I am still wearing it every day . 2 . But keep in mind , if you give it the kind of rough use that I have , it will probably develop some cosmetic issues . 3 . If you are looking for a rugged , super accurate digital timepiece , look no further . This is the one .
        • 005 4  Reliable , easy to read day or night . After 4 - years of abusing my Casio MTG900 on / under water , clearing land , etc . on the east coast of FL , plus timing food on my grill , here is what I think a prospective buyer should know . ( 1 ) When EST & DST change , I leave my Casio out in our screenroom to make sure the WWV time signal from CO activates a change ; aways works . Small time updates are received regularly while I'm wearing it outside . ( 2 ) Be sure to carefully save the instruction booklet ; you'll want to utilize other functions sometime . ( 3 ) Most important , when you initially remove excess band links & pins , carefully preserve them with your booklet . Nobody sells those spring-pins and it is just a matter of time before you will catch the band on something , bend a link pin , and urgently need one of your saved pins and / or links . Easy to fix using a tiny eye-glass screwdriver to retract the pin's spring , and a magnifier to spot the etched pin orientation arrow .
        • 006 4  This is my second Casio G-Shock watch . I have had several other Atomic watches before buying a Casio and they were cheap plastic and didn't last long . My first G-Shock lasted over five years and finally the back lighting quit working , then later I had to start charging it frequently by placing it under a lamp to keep it working because the battery was getting weak , but it was still working . I am a Scuba diver and had used this watch on several dives without any problem . I decided it was time for a new watch and I liked the idea of a metal band instead of the plastic one I had so I bought the MTG900DA and am very happy with it . It looks good with the silver band and works well . The band is well made and came with extra links so it could be made smaller if needed . It took me a while to figure out how to remove some of the links , but a search on the net took me to a site where others had posted how to remove the links to get the band to fit their wrist .
        • 007 4  Atomic watches are highly-accurate quartz watches which are synchronized each day with a time signal broadcast from the definitive U.S . Atomic Clock in Ft . Collins , Colorado . Thus , all atomic watches are always accurate to within a fraction of a second . Atomic watches also adjust automaticaly to and from daylight saving time and therefore are very convenient as well as highly accurate . Casio G-Shock watches are also very rugged and the solar powered models , such as this one , never require battery replacement . With atomic accurary , solar power , and G-Shock ruggedness at a quite reasonable price this is a terrific watch .
        • 008 4  my last watch was a g-shock , I bought it in 1996 . It claimed to have a 10 year battery , well the battery finally died , 13 years later . I mountain bike , motocross , surf , skate & more , I never take off my watch . That g-shock has taken some pretty big hits & never gave me any problems , ever . Oh the stories that watch could tell , anyway , I immediately searched for another & bought this one . the 900da - 8v , it's a bit larger than my last one , but I like it , the numbers are easier to read . The bezel is actually chrome , the picture makes it look like a matte stainless , however , it looks better in person & even better on my wrist . Thanks Casio , for a watch that can hang . i dig it , you should too .
        • 009 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) Aside from being heavier than any other watch I've owned , it does exactly what I wanted in a watch . No problems and works fine .
        • 011 4  Received my watch a week ago and love it ! I printed the manual from the Casio web site . . . . it's easier to read . I initially placed the watch under a desk lamp for about 4 hours and it has never gone below the mid charge . In fact , I deceided to place it on the night stand beside the bed and it goes to sleep and is still fully charged in the morning . I live in southern New Jersey and the Atomic time set works every night , even on the night stand , about 5 feet from a window that faces south . The watch has many bells and whistles , however the alarm is useless . Unless mine is defective , the watch is so well sealed that the beep is almost inaudible and I shure wouldn't depend on it to wake me up or signal an important appointment . The band is a bit difficult to remove links but it can be done . My wrist is small and I had to remove a few links but it fits fine now and looks great .
        • 012 4  This watch has been great , personally I wanted a watch that I would never have to set or change to Daylight Savings Time twice a year . And I never wanted to have to replace the battery either . This watch has been great on those accounts I wake up on the day after the DST change and the watch has corrected itself ! ! Great convienence ! It also tells you when the battery is charged up . I bought a Citizens watch that was quadruple the price and solar powered ( not Atomic though ) and in the instructions it said if your watch starts acting erratically you may want charge it by putting it in bright light ! ? ! Are you supposed to do this after you miss the important mtg when you figure out you expensive watch is not working right ? ? ? ? This watch tells you where you are at as far as battery strentgh . Only complaint is that the dark grey pieces are plastic and they wear a bit and change color . Also once in a while it gets a little condensation inside the watch , but it goes away within a few hours and it works perfectly so it hasnt affected the performance . I highly recommend this watch if those cosmetic things dont bother you and keep in mind they took a few years to develop . It looked great for quite a while . EDIT : I have no condensation in the watch at all for many many months , it only happened once or twice . Wear it in the shower every day . Great watch ! ! !
        • 014 4  I purchased this watch for my dad for Father's day . . . with it's features , I figured the watch would be a great conversation piece for him . His only complaint was the wrist band was too big , and when he called customer service to ask how to adjust it , the customer service person said it could take up to 3 days for him to receive the e-mailed instructions . Of course , when you have a new gift , you don't want to wait 3 days to use it ; he actually received the e-mail the next day . Otherwise , he seems to love the watch and usually mentions it when we talk on the phone . He found out accidentally about the light up feature when you look at the watch for the time and he seemed really tickled by that . He told me the watch adjusts itself every day . I would definitely say the watch was worth the money . On a side note , I was horrified to learn that Amazon included the receipt in the box with the price even though it was shipped to an address other than the billing address !
        • 016 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) I've had mine a few days now and it works perfectly . Mine gets updated from Colorado every morning at 5 : 03 AM just like clockwork ; = ) . . . Had to take it to the local jewelers to get a couple of links removed for $7.00 but now it fits well as is very comfortable on the wrist . The LCD numbers are very easy to read and the face shows just valuable information . The only thing not so great about this watch is the alarm volume , its to low to hear unless you have the watch next to your ear , so if you want this for using as an alarm clock forget about it . I love mine and would recommend this to everyone .

        • 020 4  The G in G-Shock stands for Girlie because that is what this watch is . I have had this watch for over two years . All the buttons to activate the modes and run the stop watch have broaken in half and have fallen out . I sent the first watch in under warranty for this problem . In less than a year the buttons were all broken again . It takes a real stupid person to design such a good watch and then outfit it with easily broken cheap plastic buttons . The weak link is what is going to break and it is the buttons with this watch . There is no excuse for this in a $100 watch .
        • 021 4  I've become somewhat of a Casio collector over the years , with a 3 G-Shocks , a Waveceptor , and a Baby-G watch in my collection . They really are great little pieces of machinery . My latest G-Shock was the one blemish in my collection , as the minute hand stopped syncing correctly with the atomic watch , and if a watch can't give accurate time , what use is it ? So I decided to go back to digital . I've had this guy for two weeks and I'm very happy with it . It looks very Star Trek , in a good way , with excellent build quality . It's a pretty manly watch though , and it's huge and heavy , giving it a substantial feel . I'm a pretty skinny guy but I think it still looks good on my wrist . The body itself is not all-metal , but plastic . It's ok ( hopefully it doesn't discolor over time or get scratched up ) . The buttons are easy to press , which is something G-Shocks sometimes struggle with . The most important part of a watch , ignoring all of the bells and whistles , is how effortless it is to tell the time . This watch has one of the best thought-out displays that I've seen on a G-Shock . All of the useful information is instantly visible , with the time in large digits and the date visible at the top and bottom . The charge level is at the top and the signal level from the central atomic clock is visible at the bottom . The display light could be brighter , but it works well enough and has a dedicated button ( good ) . The atomic and solar features work very well . I bought this at the store and it was medium charge , which worried me , but I left it out in direct sunlight for a few hours and it went up to full and hasn't gone back since . I've heard complaints that the battery wears out but we'll have to wait and see on that - I've had my other one for 3 years with no problems . The atomic feature is also very good . I happen to have a mountain range between me and the signal source so I sometimes have to manually sync the watch from an open area , but leaving the watch by the window overnight is usually enough to connect and get the correct time . There's a world time mode on the watch for when you're traveling ( don't use it ) , and 5 alarms including a snooze , as well as an hourly time signal . I usually sleep through it so I don't use it as my primary alarm . The stopwatch displays the current time as it's running , which is a nice touch . I wish that there was a countdown timer feature , or even a feature that counted down the days till a certain time ( eg end of school , birthday , etc ) but those are hard to find so I don't think it's a deal breaker . There also is a Time Record feature . Just hold a button and it records the current time ( up to 30 entries ) . Initially I thought it was rather useless but it seems mildly useful now that I've thought about it . Possible uses include making a note of when you put coins in a parking meter , a timestamp when you take your medication so you know later in the day not to take it again , etc . I even used it to see when the movie actually started , after the ads , and when it ended , so I could see how long it actually was . In summary , I'm happy with my purchase and highly recommend it to anyone who likes to geek out with their timepiece . I keep looking at my wrist and admiring my watch , to the point that some people wonder if I'm bored and trying to peek at the time . : ) I'll update this review in the future when I see how it wears down . Hope this review helped .
        • 023 4  I've had this watch for over 6 years , and I can't really find anything negative to say about it . As for time keeping , it is really amazing . If you keep it by a window before you go to bed , it will receive a signal from the atomic clock in Boulder , Colorado . It corrects any slight time flaws that occurs with the watch during the day . As a result , when you wake up in the morning , the time on this watch is COMPLETELY ACCURATE . It is the clock used to measure all types of schedules . For example , when I take the railroad , I check the train to see whether or not it arrives exactly on time . I also like the fact that the watch is solar powered . Not having to replace any battery is really a pleasure . Even without being in bright sunlight , the battery's strength is always on full . Lastly , this watch is not only stylish , but seems to be very rugged . It is not a dress watch , but it a perfect watch for every day use . Anyone that wants complete accuracy and good looks would really like this watch .
        • 024 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) Great watch . A little on the big / heavy side , need the G-Shock though . I have worn Timex IronMan for the past 20 years or so . I need exact time , and the atomic works great . Solar is great too , effortless , accurate time . The GMT zone is nice , need it at work . I don't use the auto-update , ( 3 times a night ) I have gone for five days without an update and it is still on time to the second . So I manually update it every few days . Buttons are a little difficult to operate , but once setup , hardly ever touch . There's a time snapshot log which helps me keep track of completion times . Couldn't find a better watch for work .

        • 026 4  I've been wearing this watch for six months strait . - No wear showing on the watch body so far , which speaks well for the cosmetic durability of it's plastic bits . The watchband's SS bracelet clasp is showing moderate signs of wearing off the matte finish , but is really barely noticeable . - Crystal is deep set enough to prevent scratches , which is great . - Buttons are easy to find without looking at the watch due to them being recessed well into button frames , which also prevents them from being pushed accidentally . - Like most modern G-Shocks , the menus are easy to navigate without having to reference the manual . - The Atomic Clock sync works well and doesn't seem to have any problem getting a signal indoors on the West Coast . - The Auto-light feature ( rotate wrist and light turns on ) is a bit too sensitive and wears the battery down way to fast to use , unless you work outside all day for daily full recharges in sunlight . - If you don't use the auto-light , the battery stays at full charge with just daily exposure to indoor lights . - The watch sits pretty high on the wrist , but doesn't get caught on anything due to it's ergo designed corners and edges . - The stainless steel band and watch-back stays nice and clean : no stinky-watch syndrome ! The SS bracelet has no rubber to wear off and the latch is strong , durable and well designed . . . very fast to take off but has never accidentally un-clasped . And last but not least , the numbers are really large and easy to read both indoors and out , making for a fast time check and good for veteran eyes . There are no useless LCD graphics on the watch face , just a big time in the middle , with the day above and the mo-day date below . Some G-Shock models have gone way overboard with useless LCD stuff and poorly designed faces . . . this is one of the best I've seen from Casio . If the Auto-light feature was a little less sensitive and the light itself didn't suck all the juice out of the battery when set to Auto-light , I'd have rated this watch with 5 - Stars . - Highly Recommended ! ONE YEAR UPDATE : Watch is still going strong . silver coating over the plastic light button ( bottom center ) has started to wear off , but the grey color of the plastic doesn't make the watch look too bad . Battery Recharging is still flawless , Atomic clock sync is still flawless . It's really tough to beat these Casio Atomic / Solar watches !
        • 027 4  I've had this watch for about four years now and it is definetely the best watch I've ever owned ( I'm 72 yes old and have owned lots of watches ) . The pros of the watch are : 1 . It is very accurate . It sync's itself with the national bureau of standards 4 times a day . 2 . The time and date are always correct regardless of the number of days in the month , whether it's leap year , weather it's daylight savings time or not . I've never had to change the time in 4 years . 3 . The watch and band are rugged . 4 . My body chemistry tends to corode a watch that is not stainless steel including the bezel . This watch is mostly stainless steel but some parts are made of a plastic resin . There have been no wear or corrosion problems during the 4 years I've owned it . 5 . I like being able to CLEARLY see the time , date , and day of the week at a glance . 6 . The battery lasts long becaused it is recharged by a solar cell on the go . So far I have not had to replace it . 7 . I like the night light feature for reading the watch in low light . Cons of watch : 1 . I do not wear the watch to bed at night because I toss a lot and this causes the night light to turn on a lot during the night . I actually use another watch at night . I don't know if turning the watch on by tossing at night would drain the battery , but avoid it as a precaution . 2 . While the battery lasts a long time because it is always being recharged , my jeweler informed me that when it does fail it costs about 10X what a normal battery costs to replace . Bottom line is that I definetely would buy another Casio solar powered atomic watch when it comes time to replace this one .

The only reason I needed to replace the watch was that it had a plastic band that finally broke , and the part is not available any more . Repairing it probably would have cost almost as much as buying a replacement , and I also wanted to get a second , dressier watch anyway . My new watch has a good-looking stainless steel band that was easy to shorten , using a small eyeglass screwdriver . Its functions are identical to my older watch . One of the most convenient features is the ability to instantly switch between time zones when traveling . The hourly and alarm chimes are also useful , as is the automatic light that briefly illuminates the face when it is dark , if you simply twist your wrist up . If my experience with its earlier clone is any measure , I expect the best from my new G-Shock . It looks great and I no longer have need for a second watch .

        • 036 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) This is my second one . The battery in the first failed at the 5 year point . Buying a new battery plus shipping and professional installation approach $55 . A new one for $20 more is well worth it . This is a great value and product . I highly recommend this watch .

        • 041 4  . . . especially for the price ! It can be as easy to operate as you like . . . It was set to Eastern Standard Time and switching back and forth to Daylight Savings Time right out of the box , and it does synchronize with the Fort Collins clock most nights . It also appears to be easy to program for different options . I haven't tested its water resistance below about 3 meters , and I haven't gone motocross racing since about 30 years before I got it , but I'd be real surprised if it didn't meet the water and shock resistant promises it gives . It's a little bulky , but that's because of the aforementioned resistances . A fine value !
        • 042 4  One thing that is lacking is the ability to at the single press of a button , be able to check another time zone of your liking . If you are a pilot and need to know GMT it would be nice to have that option . You can find the time in GMT , but you must scroll through many time zones to get there and then back . Other than that it is a great watch .
        • 043 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) This is a Great Watch !
        • 046 4  I wanted to get some experience with the watch before I wrote this . The watch came charged enough that my regular usage got it charged completely in no time . It usually sets all 4 times but sometimes misses the 5 : 00 setting . I really like the light that comes on when you tilt your wrist . So far the watch has worked flawlessly .
        • 047 4  This is my second G-shock , atomic , solar watch . The first one lasted about nine years . I like the accuracy and that is the reason I bought another one . The watch is a heavy watch , so if you are looking for thin , this is not the watch for you . The only problem , and it is a significant problem , is adjusting the stainless steel band , i.e . , removing the required number of links so that the band fits . I remembered from last time , so I took the watch to a jeweler to have the band adjusted . The jeweler took the watch and proceeded to attempt to adjust the band , but after about ten minutes he gave up . That left the project to me . It took me about 2 1 / 4 of hard work with many , many , many failed attempts to finally succeed . I think I finally learned how to do it in a reasonable amount of time - provided I get the right tool - a Spring Bar Removal Tool . They are inexpensive and I strongly recommend that you get one when you order your watch . I attempted the removal with a small flat head screwdriver , which did not work well at all . Here is how I would attempt the link removal if I have to do it again : Next to the clasp , you will find a spring bar hole that is not covered . Except for the other end of the clasp , all the spring bar holes are covered . I suggest that you bend a paper clip and use the clip to push the spring bar down . Once the bar is down , work it out of its hole . You should then be able to remove it and disengage that link from the clasp . Now you need to remove the number of links you need to size the band . These spring bars are covered , but there is a small opening . As you look at the spring bar , you will see that it has ridges . The idea is to use the spring bar tool , which has a small V at the end to push the ridge on the spring bar down . Once the spring bar is down , work it out , and you will have disengaged the link or links . Now you need to reattach , the last link to the clasp . You insert the spring bar in the chamber and press the top down using the tool . Now you work it so that it is aligned with the hole and springs into place . Good Luck !

I'm not certain on the length of battery life , ( I believe in my reviews of this model it was stated on one site that 5 years could be expected ) I would be pleased if it did last at least that long . As far as negatives , I bought it here and within 2 days , its price dropped to $68.00 . the only other negative isn't really signifigant given my small wrist , but the band needed to be shortened at a jeweler . With a wrist measuring 2 1 / 2 wide , and a 2 dial , it is BIG . but great to read .

A very good value !
        • 059 4  I've owned this watch for over ten years and I wear it pretty much every day . I wear it when I workout , swim in a local pool , swim in the ocean , work in the garden , do carpentry , go to work , do yard work , and just about everything else . This baby sets itself every night when I sleep so I don't need to set it . I've never had to replace the battery I've never had any problem of any kind with it . I can't think of anything else I've ever owned , let alone a watch , that has been this durable and reliable . If and when this baby ever wears out , I'll invest in another one . Oh yes , one other important thing is that this watch looks cool as hell . It looks and feels like a man's watch .

At first it didn't pick up the time signals but I found that if I left it flat ( i.e face upward rather than on it side ) it updates every night . I don't use the alarms and stop watch functions so I can't really address them . It's great to have on the second time without having to reset it all the time . I wish it were easier to remove band links but that is a one time problem .

        • 062 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) So far , I really like this watch ! As other reviewers have said , it is a rather big watch , and to my way of thinking at least , rather heavy , but not so much as to really be an issue . I have a small wrist and had to take six links out of the band ; that was not really too difficult , as the band is well designed for such adjustment . Use a small jewelers screwdriver and a bit of patience and you will be fine . The band is quite well made , and the push button clasp is very easy to use . I think it will give good service for many years . I have not used any of the alarms or any of the other bells and whistles on the watch . I bought it for the solar battery charging and WWV time update capabilities . I live rather close to Boulder , CO , so there is no issue with getting a strong time signal . Thus far , the battery has stayed fully charged according to the meter on the watch ; even on days when it does not get many hours of bright light . I like the fact that the watch goes to sleep at night ; if I don't put in on right away in the morning it stays sleeping until well into the afternoon since the place where I keep it at night is somewhat dark even on bright days . I don't use the back-light much at all , and I don't have the automatic back-light feature turned on , so I suspect that helps keep the battery fully charged . The little manual provided with the watch has quite small print ( I actually had to use a small magnifying glass to help me read it , however your eyes might be much better ! ) , but it contains what I think are clear instructions for all settings / operations of the watch . The items really important to me on the watch display are big enough to be easily read . For the things I wanted from it when I bought it , this watch is the best one I have ever owned . If it lasts as long as some of the other reviewers have stated it will , it will have been a six star purchase .

        • 066 4  Beautiful watch can be worn hiking , rafting , exercising ( although a bit uncomfortable while running ) , scuba diving , skiing , or dressing up ! This watch looks formal , but is very tough . I wear it everywhere while doing everything . I've dropped a hammer on it , I've scraped it up against wood and rocks . It's been buried in sand . There's nothing this watch can't handle - and I can't even see any scratches on it ( i'm not kidding ) ! I've got 2 ' nice ' watches sitting at home which I broke ( Swiss , Fossil ) - one of them fell off the counter and the other just stopped working . This G-Shock looks the same as all watches , cost the same price ( probably cheaper ) , and survives much more than those things ever could . Here are the features of the watch : Atomic Clock setting : I never have to set the time .
        • 067 4  I bought this watch when it first came out 4 years ago . It is the most accurate , trouble-free , practical watch I have ever owned . . . and I've owned them all , from the first LED watches ( remember them ? ) to this LCD wonder . You NEVER have to set it , it's gets the WWV time signal 99% of the time even in South Florida ; and I don't even bother to take it off my wrist at night when it searches for the signal . The other casio watches I've owned had a rubber band that breaks after a couple of years use . The stainless steel band of this watch is the way to go . It's big , easy to read and the solar cell battery stays charged even being indoors most of the time . . . . no batteries to change ever ! Over the 4 years this watch has been banged , bumped , soaked in both fresh and saltwater and been diving in the ocean . It's tough and like a timex ( sorry ) it takes a licking . . . . If you are looking for a tough , waterproof , extremely accurate , set & forget digital LCD watch . . . this is the one to buy .

        • 070 4  I purchased this watch back in September 2003 as a replacement for an old Seiko that was dying on me . The price was right and I wanted a watch that had the ability to sync with the atomic clock , so timekeeping would be accurate . Now , going on 6 ( + ) years , this watch has not let me down . For the very first time , I had the battery level drop below 4 bars . Several hours in the window and the charge level came right back . Winters in Michigan take it's toll . It is big , but not overly . I have a tough time wearing it under cuffed shirts . For the price and the features , I recommend this watch to anyone who is looking for a solid performer .
        • 071 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) Very rugged , yet stylish weekend watch .
        • 073 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) I got this watch to my husband for Christmas and he loves it so much . He wears it all the time evern when he is taking a shower or sleeping .
        • 075 4  This is a strong recommendation and a review for the watch that I own and love , Cas io's G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch # MTG900DA - 8V . I bought mine around two years back . Let me go over the features of this watch in the order I appreciate them - This watch is tough . I have had this watch while I was on hikes , on the beach , in the office . It has taken a lot of hits , but the scratchproof glass and the steel body still look beautiful . - The watch has big , beautiful , functional display . The main display tells you the day of the week , the month , date , as well as the time . - The watch has atomic timekeeping , which calibrates the displayed time with radio signals to ensure a high level of accuracy . This is useful only if you are in USA . The watch is accurate to within a second . - The watch has data to show time in 29 timezones . You can keep 2 timezones on this watch simultaneously . This feature is useful if you have family or clients in different timezone than you . - Nice , bright backlight for easy viewing of time in dark places . - It is waterproof upto 600 feet . - It is solar powered . Bye bye changing batteries . - Lastly , it is stylish . It is big , made of steel and has a bit of grey on it and it looks stylish with jeans and t-shirt .
        • 076 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) The watch would be perfect for me if it had a countdown timer , set it for ten minutes and an alarm goes off .
        • 078 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) Watch does everything it says it will do . Honestly I though it would be a little heavier . I like a heavy watch ! The only ding is the last links of the band are not metal but a resin or something . Besides that I love the watch and I recommend it highly .
        • 080 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) I bought this watch as a gift for my hard-to-please 80 year old father-in-law . He prefers the functionality and durability of Casio watches , which is what drove me to this brand . The MTG900DA - 8V feature set sealed the deal . It's been about month now and I haven't heard a single complaint - that's a huge positive rave . The first thing you'll notice is that it's ready to go as soon as it's taken from the box . No fumbling around with settings , the time and date are simply always correct . The display is easy to read and the functions are intuitive . There was one minor issue , though . The well-made metal band was too large for Harry's wrist and it wasn't obvious how to remove some links to make it right . A quick look on the net fixed that , and my 16 - year-old son ( better eyes than me ) had no trouble removing the extra links . ( Gasp - I think he used a steak knife ! ) I removed one star from the rating for the inconvenience ; Casio could have easily included a simple graphic illustrating the band construction in the instructions . Overall , great functionality at a great price .

        • 083 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) The watch alarm sound fails to work . A question to Casio was not much help . I don't plan to use the alarm function anyway , so I'll just live with it .
        • 086 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) I bought this watch about a week ago .
        • 088 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) This watch is a mans watch not for kids , the watch is big as many other people have stated but very comfortable .
        • 092 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) Just received this watch today . Nice looking and BIG but I'll get used to it . It has everything I've wanted in a watch . My only complaint is in the shipping methods . USPS started it and handed off to FedEx SmartPost . FedEx then transported it to So . Calif & gave it back to USPS for delivery . I know that Super Saver shipping takes a bit longer but it seems like every time the pkg . changed hands we lost another day of shipping time . I think it would be better to have one carrier handle everything . USPS is great and not too expensive for a small item like this . FedEX is ok also but usually costs more . Once the shipping started I could not track anything . USPS didn't even recognize their own tracking # . . . Much confusion . I received the pkg on the scheduled date but I'm not happy about the shipping methods . The watch rates a 5 star but shipping dropped my rating to a 4.5 . Update 7 / 11 / 09 Had to remove two links from the band , I prepared for this task by buying a link removal tool . Didn't need it . This band has spring loaded pins at every link . You need only a small jewelers screwdriver to release the pin at the arrow on the inside of the band . A nice surprise . Make sure you reinstall the pins with the spring end at the arrow . This is a fine , well designed timepiece that has it all . Art

        • 099 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) I bought this watch for my husband's birthday last month . He likes it very much . It is nicer looking than in the picture and it has lots of functions . My husband loves gadgets , so this watch suits him well . So far , the watch works well .
        • 101 4  I've had this watch now for about a month now . So far I'm happy with my purchase . There's not much more that I can say about the watch that hasn't already been said . Just wanted to add another positive review .
        • 102 4  I just bought one of these because I got tired of being unable to adjust the time or use the feature buttons on my old analog / digital watch ( they had gotten crudded up with skin oils and dirt ) . The first thing you note about the Casio is that it is big ( thick ) and heavy . This is not a delicate or subtle time piece . The second thing you notice is that ( unless you have huge wrists ) you have to take some links out of the band , there are no instructions for doing this packed with the watch , and the on-line brochure at the Casio web site has no instructions either . Your best bet is to go do a search on the internet where kind individuals have posted the non-obvious instructions . It is not hard to do , but neither is it easy . After you do it a few times , you get good at it and only use a little bad language when you do it . Anyway , once done , it's done . Beyond those few things , the watch is very nice . The display is easy to read . You can momentarally turn on the pretty blue back-light by flicking your wrist , it picks up Denver well ( I am in Michigan ) each night , the battery seems to charge fast . . . even indoors , the crystal is mineral and hard , the housing / band is mostly stainless ( with a little gray plastic ) , the buttons are fairly easy to use , set up is easy ( once you down-load the good instructions from the Casio web site ) , the band is handsome , day and date are reasonably large . The multiple alarms are nice , as is the stop-watch . A count-down timer would be nice , but it's not there . Well worth the seventy bucks I paid .
        • 107 4  I've owned this watch over a year and I really like it . After a couple of months of searching all Casio G-Shock atomic / solar watches , this was the ONLY one I liked in this price range . The metal band is a big plus , as I don't like leather or resin . This is a big watch , and it is a little heavy , but it feels very comfortable on my small wrist . Some people complain about the small print on the manual , but I have no trouble reading it at all and I'm retired . The manual recommends placing the watch in a window so it can receive the atomic clock signal , but at home I just place it near an exterior wall , about 18 inches below my window and it calibrates itself every morning , like clockwork : ) However , I did have trouble receiving the signals from some motel rooms while traveling . The watch retrieves the signal from Fort Collins , CO , every night , at either 2 , 3 , 4 , or 5AM . To do that , the watch must be kept motionless for about 5 minutes or so , during any one of those times . Note : For graveyard shift workers , the watch would not pick up the signal unless the watch is removed from your wrist each night and placed near a window . Also , the volume of the alarm is almost totally inaudible on mine . If that feature is important to you , I'd test it first . Some people ( not me ) might be intimidated by all of the features available , and the amount of reading necessary after the initial purchase . But once you get past that point , you'll never have to adjust it again , not even for leap year . My highest recommendation ! Unless you own the atomic clock in Boulder , Colorado , you cannot buy a more accurate time piece for any price .
        • 110 4  If you are looking for a bullet proof Casio G-Shock , this is not the watch for you . I've had several Casio G-Shocks over the years and love them . This one was my daily watch until it's face went blank . The service department repaired it for $50 .
        • 111 4  This review is from : Casio Men's MTG900DA - 8V G-Shock MT-G Atomic Tough Solar Watch ( Watch ) the watch is everthing that you wrote about it in your description of it . the only problem i had with it a small one at best , the glass gets dirty . it's fun when people start talking about the correct time and i tell them my solar atomic watch says it is , within one second , you can't argue with that . i wish the airlines would use it .

        • 113 4  I purchased my Casio MTG900DA a few years ago . I try to be cautious with it but as I am naturally clumsy , it gets it fair share of abuse . It runs great . I grinded it against the bricks on the outside of my home when climbing on the ladder to clean out the dryer vent , but it looks no worse at all . I have yet to scratch the mineral glass . I downloaded the watch user instructions online as a pdf file . I can enlarge the instructions to easily read the manual . . . no small print problems for me . I do have trouble sometimes effectively trying to push the buttons because at times some button pushes seem ineffective or not registering while at other times they push fine . I recently went on a 12 day cruise to Alaska , and we changed time zones a few different times from EST . A button push and I was always in tune with the local time . I do not worry about leaving my watch close to a window . In fact , it is in my bookcase top shelf every night about 12 feet from a window with shades , but its time is right to the second . Every few weeks I may do a manual receive to update it's atomic time , but usually find out it was already accurate . I also check it a few times weekly online with the atomic clocks . I enjoy the numerous stopwatches it offers , as I time everything . . . every day to work . . . stoplights , shortcuts I may take on back roads or at restaurants for the time to receive my meal from when I ordered it ect . I also set all the clocks on the stoves , microwaves and clock radios to it , and try to set them exactly to the second so they all change at the same time . Silly , but hey , whatever rocks your boat . The multiple and easy to set alarms are great as well , specifically if I have an important meeting at work and I am not near my desk for Outlook to remind me . If you have anyone whom you would term anal-retentive ( I mean that in a good sense ) , as I pride myself on my attention to detail , This would make a wonderful holiday gift . Only four stars due to the difficulty in mastering all the features as well as the buttons sometimes being hard to push , this watch is still a keeper and a favorite by far .
        • 118 4  The watch is great , but Amazon frequently suggest a tool to adjust the band to be purchased with the watch . The tool is for drifting the pins out of the band . Not only do you not need this tool , if you use it on this band you will most likely jack up the band and the tool . What is needed to adjust the band is a small flat screw driver . The watch uses spring loaded pins ! Save yourself the $ $ and the frustration .
