However , change the strap for a silicone one , and you have a $200 dive watch that you can live life in and not worry about ruining . First off , it looks great on the wrist . I leave it on at the amusement park , while washing the car , and the pool / beach . If you are in or near reading glasses range , it's very readable , and the light is great at the movies , et al . When yo have kids , it gets whacked on the crystal a lot , but so far , no scratches . You could spend a lot more , but why bother ?

I replaced the plastic band immediately with my own black leather
20mm band with a chrome buckle , since the plastic band buckled on
the last hole on my large wrist . To take the plastic band off I had
to carefully slice the band off by the pins with a razor blade ,
in order to get to reach the pins .
This is a large heavy watch . I wear it on my right hand so the knobs
don't dig into the back of my hand . With a good leather band this watch
looks great . The bezel , crystal , face and case are all top notch .
The backlight is activated for 3 seconds when you press the top knob
and is very bright . It's very easy to read the hands on this watch
day or night .
An amazing thing about this watch is the accuracy . When you unscrew
and pull out the knob to set the time , the second hand stops , so you
can synchronize the watch to a clock exactly to the second .
I set it to my cable box clock and it has only gained 3 seconds in a month .
I checked it every day , and it took ten days to gain a single second .
I would have still been happy with this watch at twice the price .
015 4 This is a nice looking watch for what it costs . It seems robust and looks good if you like things a little flashy . The band does reflect the price point though . It's stiff plastic and I found it unwearable . You can change it for a silicone rubber band ( much more comfortable ) for not much money , which was worth doing for me . Can't really go wrong for the price .

The band doesn't bother me either . . . it's not leather and is not supposed to caress your wrist .

032 4 I've just had this watch for a couple of days , so I can't really speak for it's accuracy at this point , but otherwise it really is a rather impressive piece for around $50 . This is a thick solidly made watch with a rather heavy feel to it , and the 2 LED super illuminator feature is a pretty cool alternative to the Timex indiglo , although LEDs would probably pull a little more drain on the battery over time . I also would like to agree with all the other reviews stating what a piece of cheap plastic the band that comes with the watch is . I replaced the one on mine as soon as I had a chance . Big improvement . Over all though this is a nice solid built Manly looking watch whether your diving or not .
009 4 My 14 year old son asked me if the watch was a James Bond watch . I said , no , just a cheap , good quality watch . The watch has kept very accurate time , durable , good looking . I did change the strap and now like it even a whole lot better . Dollar for dollar you just can't beat the quality for the price you pay !

093 4 I purchased the Casio MDV102 - 1AV Divers watch based on the reviews I read . I agree its a good watch for the money . I totally agree the band is terrible . I wore it one day and promptly ordered a silicone band for it . It is much more comfortable and being its a straight band , it allows you to turn the bezel much easier than with the original band . I already have put a small nick in the domed crystal , a recessed flat crystal would be better . I like the look of the watch . It keeps good time and the two LED lights are really bright as stated in other reviews . Easy to see at night . I gave it four stars for the horrible band and the domed crystal but still well worth the money I paid for it .
116 4 This watch is worth every penny you pay for it . It keeps track of time well , the LEDs at the 12 and 6 positions are a great idea and the watch is very easy to read in any light condition . It's a bit on the small side when compared to other dive watches . I substituted the original plastic band which I found uncomfortable with a Zulu band and now the watch sits well and comfortably on my wrist . The only criticism I have is that the watch is way too shiny , something that doesn't show in the online photos . I think it would have looked better if it were more subdued or even if it had a sandblasted finish .

The two LEDs are bright enough that I can use it to keep from stepping on the dog in a totally dark bedroom . I have had no issues with the watchband discomfort that others have reported . The time-adjustment and light knobs are rather large and I notice them hitting the back of my hand , but I still wear the watch while playing golf . If you want an expensive looking , functional dive watch at a reasonable price , this is the ticket .

My favorite feature is that fantastic LED brightness . I travel quite a bit and use the watch to find my way around in a dark hotel room . It works amazingly well for that . I replaced a Timex with indiglo that was not nearly as bright , and not as good looking or seemingly well made as this watch . I couldn't be happier with my purchase .
042 4 I bought this watch about 3 - 4 months ago and it is great . The light lights up my hallway in the middle of the night like a flashlight . It really is like having a flashlight with you at all times . Very nice if you ask me . The only thing that bothers me about this watch is the band . The body of the watch is kind of bulky yet the band is kind of narrow . Doesn't really match . The band should be considerably wider . Not to mention the fact that the end of the band constantly pops free of the loop that is supposed to hold it down . I was actually online shopping for a new band when I decided to swing on through Amazon and write this review . If anyone has this watch and replaced the band with something else I would love to hear which band you chose . I would buy it again though . . . . . great value !

The other two watches cost 3 times as much ( around $150 ) ; however , I find myself favoring this watch the most . This watch looks good dressed up or down , I have had it since xmas ' 09 and so far no accuracy issues . Like others have mentioned the Led light is bright and comes in handy at night .

I swapped-out the band for a Maratec zulu watch strap . The only thing I would change about this watch would be the thickness . With a dress work shirt on it can be difficult to get it out from under the cuff to check the time . But most of the time it is not an issue . Highly recommended .

Which would be an automatic ( self-winding ) , mechanical day / date display , and with battery for illumination / indiglo .
That way I'd probably get 5 - 10 years between battery changes and have the advantage of
being able to tell the time in movie theatres , 3AM in bed , etc . That would be perfect but it doesnt exist . Have been using G-shocks for many years and between frequent battery failures ( best to buy a new watch ) , watch band failure ( best to buy a new watch ) , and just sometimes the internal computer going screwy ; I even tried the ones with a 10 year battery and they were no better . I figured my avg . cost per year for these was running too high and it was time for a change .
I miss the rotating bezel type of watches and these cheaper electric rotating bezel dive watches have some disavantages over more expensive ones . The * crystal * on this one is domed and above the bezel ; open to much scratching , typical on this level of watch . It could be better at least . . . . flush with bezel ( Timex Expedition Dive Style Watch ) . It has great illumination which makes me worry about battery life . I surf am left handed ( wear the watch on right arm ) so having the light button on the r.h.s is a bit of a negative due to the way I store wax bits while inside my wetsuit which normally presses against the crown and light button on other dive watches , potentially draining my battery . I find the date display adequate , it would be nice to have a crystal magnifier on a flat crystal recessed below the bezel . A noted negative is that the rotating bezel only turns counter clockwise . I noted no other negatives . The band is typical & comfortable , as opposed to hard and uncomfortable . I purchase Fall 2009 so I obviously can't comment on reliabilty and battery life yet , so I'll give it 4 stars at the moment.Best value in its price range !
001 4 As someone else commented , this watch is reminiscent of the Omega Planet Ocean watch , as worn by Daniel Craig in the latest James Bond film . I wouldn't call it a knockoff , it just has a similar style to it . For under $50 , it's a solid , attractive , and classically masculine watch , and definitely fills the role I purchased it for .
It even features a Bond style gadget ! The illuminator button on the top right activates ( 2 ) very bright LED lights behind the 12 and 6 positions . . . the LED's stay lit for a couple seconds and are very bright white . . . . you could easily use this watch as a flashlight in a dark room . The watch also features a screw down crown , which I think is a nice high-end feature for such an inexpensive timepiece .
Unlike almost every other review here , I had no problems at all with the strap . . . Mine is very soft and comfortable . Not sure if Casio changed it , or if I just have different tastes , but really , I find the watch a pleasure to wear as is .
Sure , this watch is no Omega or Rolex , but for the money , I think it's a solid , attractive , and functional piece , that packs a hell of a lot of style into an affordable package .

Just wanted to add , I've had the watch for some time now , and I still have no problems with the strap . . . again , not sure if Casio changed it out , or if I'm just in the minority , but I think it's quite comfortable .
Also , another positive feature is the luminosity of the watch . . . after a normal day's wear , I have no trouble seeing the watch in the dark , and don't even need to use the LED function to tell the time . They used two colors of luminous paint as well . . . a light blue for the markers , and traditional green for the hands , which is kind of neat . All in all , I still can't believe this is a sub $50 watch . Great deal !
004 4 Received this watch recently and so far am impressed . The important facts are :
1 ) It looks much nicer in real life , than the pictures here show . It looks very classy and just looks great .
2 ) The LED light is outstanding . I don't know how much it will affect battery life though . Shouldn't be too much since it's an LED .
3 ) The band it came with is thick rubber ( like a gshock ) and I am a little disappointed in it's feel . I'll probably try to find a better band . Despite the band , I still gave it a 5 star because the watch itself is gorgeous and bands can be replaced easily enough .
BTW , this could be a great ( and cheap ) gift too . It's really really nice looking .
012 4 I own a few more expensive watches so I wanted an every-dayer . This is far more spectacular in person . Solid build and quality . Have owned it for a few months and banged it a bit , no scratches and great timing , to the marker - I was amazed due to the price . The precision is on point . I have gone swimming & fishing , worked on a few cars , hiked , hand washed dirty laundry , u name it and exposed it to gasoline and oil , no issues .
Note , I replaced the band with a Seiko , well worth it due to the uncomfortable feel of the stock band - the one it comes with , that's the only drawback . But for the price , no question . I would easily pay double the amt . for this timepiece . Thanks Casio .
014 4 It's true about the watchband being pretty bad , ( it's rock hard plastic ) but this is easily solved . I went to Longs Drugs and bought a Timex Sport Collection-Replacement for Casio-Water Resistant B - 36 replacement band ( 22mm ) . $5.95 . ( maybe Amazon carries them ) . VERY soft and comfortable band that is also a flatter profile and looks better . I'm a landscaper and wanted a tough waterproof watch , that's easy to read at a glance , yet sharp in appearance . This is a major guys watch . Today's watches are getting to be pretty gimmicky and silly looking , . . . . and I wanted just the old classic design , like this one . I've had it for over two weeks and it keeps perfect time , . . . matching my much more expensive Pulsar dress watch . Very pleased . Thanks Amazon . Many thanks to the other folks who posted their feedback too , . . . . . it encouraged me to go for this one . You were right . It's a quality timepiece at a stunning price . The dial light is outstanding and the glow in the dark aspect of it ? , . . . . well , I hate to use a cliche word like cool , . . . . but it is .

This is the watch I chose and I'm glad I did . Not only that , but it's actually a really nice watch ! Looks great and keeps perfect time . As a vegetarian , I even like the band . : )
Not sure how this would work for you if you're a serious diver or have a need some atomic-clock level accuracy , but I feel it will work just fine for most people .
026 4 I've had this watch for a couple months now . The time keeping is within specs , mine is running about 5 - seconds fast per month , well within the + - 20 seconds per month listed by Casio . One feature I'll mention that I didn't see in the Amazon description or other reviews is the quick set date . I think that is a huge feature for a watch at this price point . The quick set date means that you can change the date on the watch without having to advance the hour hand past 12 midnight . I was very pleased to discover that when I received the watch . It is a very handsome watch . The matte black dial and white hands and markers make for very easy reading . The case looks and feels very solid . I like the band as well . The band material is stiff , but it feels robust and suits the watch quite well . The curve of the band where it meets the case looks good . I have no comfort issues with the band . There are a few minor issues with the watch . As another reviewer mentioned , the second hand doesn't line up exactly with each second tick on the face . Also some of the indices on the bezel don't line up with the face markers while some do . Now these are really minor offsets ( less than a quarter minute ) , and the reason I noticed them is because the watch looks so nice I kept on looking at it . The glowing markers last through the night , they're faint after 7 hours or so , but you can see them if you hold the watch up close to your face , that is of course if you don't want to use the light which I wouldn't suggest holding up close to your face to activate in the dark , it's really bright .
I bought the watch based on the pictures on the Amazon website and all the positive reviews , and on having many Casio digital watches in the past . I am happy with my purchase
038 4 This is a fantastic little watch . Casio have definitely produced a winner in the sub - $50 segment . My Invicta & Seiko dive watches might be bit more expensive and have fancier automatic compared to the Casio's quartz but they don't look as good IMO . Casio even added a touch of flair with those nice Marlin logos inside the dial and at the back . The white LEDs ( activated by the knob at 2 o'clock ) are bonkers bright and blue / green lume is pretty good , though not as bright as the lume in some Seikos . Of all the sub - $50 watches that I own , this is by far the best .
The only negative bit about the entire package is the crappy strap . It looks useless in front of the case and dial . You'd be better off replacing it with a NATO style strap for 5 - odd bucks .
040 4 Okay , for the price , you can not go wrong . This is a great watch ! It looks great and the only con about this watch is the band . The band is uncomfortable out of the water and after you been in the ocean especially , the skin begins to soften and the band really seems to dig into your wrist . I had my band replaced the minute I got the watch for $20.00 at Sears with a silicone rubber band .
I would recommend this watch to amateur divers / swimmers out there .

043 4 Let me start by saying I own MANY , MANY watches . I also have a prefrence for the divers style . Having said that , this Casio is my hands down favorite ! ! ! The size is perfect for any wrist size , as its not a huge watch as is the bigger Casio analog / digital divers and its not women sized by any means . Like everyone has already stated the twin led lighting system provides a super-bright clean white light that is bright enough to use as an emergency flashlight . While thats great , its also great that most times you won't NEED to use it because if the face is charged for any length of time the hands and hour markers GLOW very well for hours and look very nice in the Blue / Green combo .
O.K . , now for the one and only complaint that makes it a 4 star rating-and its minor if you have other watches to swap out . . . . . The ban is by far the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE of ANY divers bands ( they all tend to be on divers ) I've ever worn . I swapped it oout with an old Timex Expedition flat and very comfortable black rubber band .
The other Casio Big divers analog / digital combo watch that reatils for $100 - well this watch is FAR BETTER that that . This glows for hours , that glows for maybe 10 min . This watch has the Suepr LED lights , that has NONE . THis watch has a more classy / expensive style , that looks very outdated / boring . This has a very durable UNCOMFORTABLE band , that one also but NOT nearly as uncomfortable as this one . It is an easy swap-out fix .
If you are looking at this watch and others I think you'll agree you'd be hard pressed to find a better watch for the money . Its classy / sporty and very functional in any lighting condition . Gets noticed by people such as me who are into watches ! ! I can't believe that Casio priced it lower that some of the other diving styles-crazy ! !

As previous reviews stated , the band could be better quality , but the watch itself is DYNAMITE . Accurate ( as checked with my Waveceptor ( calibrates via satellite three times daily ) that I wear for work ; durable , and expensive looking . . . . without a close-up view , no-one would know it's a Casio . Have received many positive comments , and expressions of disbelief when the make and price were disclosed . The LED illumination is unbelievable as well . Very satisfied , I recommend it highly !
051 4 i like my watches and concerned for taking my nice watches under water ( even if they are water safe ) . therefore , i purchased this inexpensive watch to take on vacations and to use in the pool and hot tub . it was a smart decision and has held up nicely while under water . i recommend this watch . it has a nice look and accurate . i did switch the band because it was very stiff and i personally didn't like it . i purchased an inexpensive rubber watch band at my local mall and it is great . i will probably purchase a zulu band for this watch . anyway , i recommend the watch to use for water sports .

This watch is highly reviewed with the only flaw noted being the stiff band . For me the band has not been a problem .
What I love about this watch is that it looks great , keeps perfect time ( unlike the Swiss Army watch ) , is easy to illuminate for checking time during the night , and is very easy to read at a glance .

The only complain i have is the rubber / plastic band , it's not very comfortable and too hard , more than my dive watches ! ( these are hard enough but not this hard , you can buy a different band ) . Also , you have the option to buy this model with a stainless steel band but it will be heavier .
The screw down crown is a good feature in this kind of watch .

077 4 Same as the others were saying about the band . It is very uncomfortable , especially at night when you may have your hands under the covers or sleeping on your arm . The band really digs into your wrist . It isn't so much that the band is made out of hard materials , as it is that the under side of the band isn't smooth . It has really sharp and deep ridges in it .
I'm really bummed because this is one of the best and toughest looking dive watches on the market . I've had dive watches my whole life , and as far as looks , feel , and build quality goes , this watch is great . That being said , I am not a diver , and the backlight is way to bright for me as well . Probably perfect if you are truly going to use it as a diving watch ( as it is intended ! ) and not just an everyday watch like me . I turned the backlight on early in the morning in bed , and it nearly blinded me ! It is not a soft glow like the timex indiglow . Instead it is 2 bright LED lights that are basically uncovered .
Again , watch is perfect for temp . diving , but not for everyday wearing , unless you have skin of leather . Super looking watch at a great price . I ended up buying another timex dive watch with an orange face , and while it is much more confortable and has great looks , it has cheaper black paint on the face , and it is already coming off after a month . The Casio is made of solid metal face that is nice and heavy duty , so I think it will be much more scratch resistant .

I find the watch band to be comfortable and the functions of the dive watch are easy to use . It reminds me of the Rolex GMT dive watch which I have owned in the past . Its style is almost identical . I have had it almost two months now and it has kept perfect time .

I own a couple of more expensive dive watches and was looking for a cheaper version to wear for yard work to not have to worry about any scratches it may pick up , this one does the trick . For $50 it is a very solid watch . I would agree with other reviewers that the strap is the weak point of this watch , if I were planning on wearing this often I would definitely want to change it but for occasional use it will do just fine .
From a distance it definitely looks great , up close I would not agree with reviews that make it sound like it compares to the likes of a luxury watch . The bezel is busy with information and the curved glass makes it appear to me that the face is sunken down into the watch . The pictures here make it appear that the face is jet black with contrasting white text , minute and hour markers that really ' pop ' . In reality the face is more a very dark grey and the appearance is more bland and less contrasting .
However , I didn't buy this expecting another Submariner and I am very happy with the watch . The bezel action feels very solid and it has kept very accurate time so far . The only other dissapointment I have is the short lasting luminosity of the dial , however the light is so powerful this is really a non-issue . You won't find better for $50 !
102 4 I thought I was going to be temporarily relocating for work , so I decided to get myself a watch for daily wear that wasn't as dressy as my current Kenneth Cole one .
When I got this watch in the mail ( very quickly ) , I took it out and it looks exactly like the pictures indicate . I tried it on , and felt that it was extremely stylish - I'm a picky guy . I was concerned about the band , but have not had any issues unlike many other customers . I like the ability to turn the topring , which I didn't find difficult . The marker at the 12 , the offset date and the marlin make this watch look like it's more expensive than it is ( always a plus ) .
I have not worn this watch for swimming , diving or in the shower yet - but I'm confident in its abilities to withstand the water . If I have any issues , I'll edit this review in a heartbeat .
Basically - to get a functional and stylish watch for $50 . . . always a good deal .

I wanted an everyday beater , because it's so inexpensive I can afford to buy a replacement if I destroy it ( unlike my other watches ) . I also , like several other reviewers here , agree the actual product is much better looking in person than in the pictures . I find it hard to believe this is a sub - $100 watch . The timekeepings is accurate , the LED's are very bright , setting the time / date was very easy , I didn't need to look at the instruction booklet . The Casio ( mystery substance ) band however , sucks . I'm keeping it as a back-up , but I highly recommend the Modena 22mm rubber strap several other reviewers have mentioned here . Amazon offers this watch , and this Modena band , as a bundled purchase . I wore the watch for two days , then switched out the Casio band for the Modena . . . a GINORMOUS difference ! ! ! The Modena band classes this watch up , it's comfortable and it has a sturdy , secure stainless steel deployment clasp in place of a buckle . All of my expensive watches have bands with deployment clasps . I gave five stars for the watch , because that is what I was buying , after all . Bands can be changed on a whim . Buy this watch , you won't regret it .

144 4 I have had a different Casio style dive watch for about 15 years now ( three different ones as they needed replacing ) . You know the one with with the LCD display at the bottom - I have had a gold faced one and several black faced ones . I love that watch . But I kept breaking them . The band would fall off the pins and it would happen only when I was standing over concrete . POW ! The hands would come off the axle . As my eyes haves started to get worse because of age , I found that I didn't really need the digital display anymore - too small . Besides , everyone has that watch now . So I started looking for a different watch .
I came across this watch and really like the face . As others have mentioned , it has its failings . The crystal is beveled outwards which makes it prone to scratching . The crowns aren't protected by the casing like my other Casio . The bezel is difficult to turn and requires my finger nail to turn it . I wish the face was dark black vs the darker shade of gray that it is . Also , the date is difficult for ME to read unless I have my glasses on .
With all that said , it is a handsome watch and it is keeping great time . I have had more people comment about it than my previous Casio - probably because it just isn't that common of a watch . Haven't had any problems with it but I have only had it for about a month .
But with all the stuff I would change if I was making the watch , I quite childishly find myself looking to see what time it is even when I already know . I really like the look of this watch .

162 4 not to be overkill , here are the essentials . Beautiful timepiece , as others stated , much more so in person . You would think , as others have , that this is a $100 or more watch comparable to the Citizen and Seiko diver watches I also wanted . But I needed an everyday watch to wear as opposed to my other nicer timepieces . This watch feels sturdy , solid and well built , despite being made in China , guess they hold their factories to high standards . A few quick tips as others said , buy the watch repair tool to remove the band and buy the Seiko 22mm band . It fits nicely , but use the old pins for a better fit . The Seiko divers band is much much more comfortable and nicer in my opinion . Great watch , would buy again in a heartbeat . Many compliments on the first day .
update - months later and still going strong . The Seiko diver band is great . Only issue is the fact my wrist , on occasion , gets schafed from the band or the buckle . unsure . Happens 1 a month .

I did not find the strap as bad as many have described . Just keep it a little loose and it is fine .
Many previous reviewers have said the good things about this watch so I won't repeat . However , I still want to say the following two items .
The LEDs , of course , are the gems of this watch . Do not afraid of using them because the battery in this watch is cheap and easily found .
The rotating bezel has 120 ( smooth ) clicks ! ! ! You can go and try some much more expensive watches and they will only have 60 clicks and not this smooth .
The second hand is where it shows the lack of refinement . It does not match tick to tick to the dial but that is common in even much higher priced watches below $1000 . It does not affect the time keeping because it still ticks 60 times per revolution .
I am getting other variations ( different dial color , bracelets , etc ) of this watch if I can find them .

204 4 I have to say that this is a very nice watch . It is well built , has a rugged feel and look to it and just looks cool . For the price you can't go wrong . I actually like the band it comes with and feel that it is comfortable enough . Casio does not offer this watch with a stainless steel band . As the others have stated , the ( 2 ) LED lights are the brightest I have ever seen on a watch . Two other nice features are the screw down crown and 200 meter ( 600 ft ) water resistance . The caseback is of course a screw down type also . The watch is built solid and made of stainless steel . I know my watches and for under [ . . . ] shipped , this is a great deal .
Update : It's been over a year now ( 13 months ) and this watch still keeps perfect time ( around + 1 second every month ) . It has also proved to maintain it's water resistance being exposed to cold and hot water every day . I wear this thing all the time . It has become my favorite watch . It has definately been put through some rugged wear at work . For those of you reading through these comments considering on buying this - you won't find a better deal for around 50 bucks or less . The original rubber strap feels and looks just fine after a year , and if anything is more comfortable than when I first started wearing the watch .

I bought it along with a dressier Casio Men's Slide Rule Bezel Analog Chronograph Aviator Watch # MTP4500D - 1AV and this one is definitely my favorite . Both are great values and serve different purposes , but I find myself wearing the divers watch more often ( even in more formal situations ) . Great overall size and feel and the styling ( with the black rotating dial ) is reminiscent of much more expensive timepieces .
Other reviewers have knocked the rubber band , but I have no problem with it . I like the way it is molded to fit right up against the dial and I don't think the watch would look as good with an aftermarket band . I have found it to be comfortable and easily adjustable .
The light is brighter than any that I have ever seen on a watch . The only surprise was that it really doesn't help you see the date ( due to the way it is recessed ) .
I would highly recommend this watch . . !
208 4 I have just recieved this watch today . i was pretty excited about it for the last couple days so i had read all 15 reviews for it here on amazon so i kinda knew what to expect .
after inspecting my new watch i must say the quality is very nice , it feels SOLID not cheap , and it looks very classy as well . perhaps overkill for my day job i dont mind .
it does have features of a high end watch thats for sure , the screw in crown and the screw back case is a nice plus . Of course you already know this by now .
the bezel rotates in one direction only , i personally prefer a bi-directional . . but its ok . the quality seems good on the racheting action of the bezel . there really isnt any play in the gearing of it . its very tight .
The other reviewer was right , its so tight that spinning it with your fingerpads is hard at times . . . however i do it easilly because i grip it the right way .

the mineral crystal is a beautiful dome , i personally prefer this type of crystal , not only for looks and class , but they tend to hold up even better against shock . its science really just research having a collision with a dome vs a flat ppiece of glass . . . so dome faces are TOP NOTCH IN MY BOOK
I use the bezel as a stopwatch , and i use it at least 3 times per day . Of course my concern is wearing it out . . . but i would assume that it is designed to be used a lot.it doesnt feel like its going to wear out , and i have seen cheap watches go years and years . . . this one should last and last and last . . . however . . . i suppose a watch shop could also repair such a simple thing as a rotating bezel anyway .
the luminescent hands and markers seem to hold their glow , once your eyes adjust im sure you will be able to see the time all through the night with these . the blue markers and green hands certainly does stand out . ( however , once your eyes adjust and the light of the markers dies down a bit . . it will all look green )
but if your still having trouble i must say the 2 LEDs on this watch make seeing the time in any condition an easy task . they are BRIGHT . . . . FLASHLIGHT BRIGHT . . . im NOT kidding with you .
TH BAND is my big complaint . . i will be upgrading it soon to a 22mm silicone band ( also on amazon ) because the factory band is VERY stiff , . . and . . . in all actuality . . it is uncomfortable . . it seems durable . . but still . . it rubs your skin the wrong way ( no pun intended )
its also the type of material that cracks over time.i just glanced down and am seeing quite a few red marks on each side of my wrist because of this band . ALSO take note that i put the band on loose not tight to try to avoid this from happening . . . . . looks like im going to need that new band soon . .

215 4 My wife got me this watch on sale at a department store for less than the Amazon price . I needed a everyday beater watch and this fit the bill . As another reviewer said , the styling is a lot like an Omega Seamaster Diver's watch . It keeps good time and the dual LED illumination is very bright ; very , very , bright . It has a screw down crown , a uni-directional bezel . It is supposedly water resistant to 200 meters , so swimming and snorkeling should be no problem . The large face is very clear and easy to read . For less than $60.00 , I really have no complaints , well , except for two . First , the lume on the dial and hands is very poor quality , but this is not an issue because of the LED illumination . Second , the band . I have a G-shock that I wear quite a bit and I am used to Casio resin bands but the band on this watch is horrible . I replaced it almost immediately with the
22mm MODENA Light Pattern Italian Rubber Watch Band w / Deployant / Deployment Buckle / Clasp
. It is a much better band , very comfortable and much better looking than the Casio band . That is the only reason that I haven't given the watch five stars .
217 4 This watch rocks , but after 2 days of normal wearing , I found some scratches on the surface of the watch which is not normal for a mineral finished surface . I found it kind of confusing as my other cheap watches are having even more durable surfaces than this watch ( just glass surfaces ) .
Yes , the band is one of the main downside : hard to wear , uncomfortable , and takes quite a time to dry once wet .

086 4 We bought this watch for our boys to use for diving . They have since used it as an everyday watch as well . It worked very well for diving . They could see underwater what they needed to because of the illumination capabilities . The numbers and digits were big enough to see easily . We also liked that it had a movable bezel so that they could set it to the time they entered the water and keep track of how long they were diving - an old fashioned backup to the computers . They like it for everyday use as it is not that heavy a watch . I gave it a 4 only because the watch is still new , it has only been used on 6 dives , but it feels like a very sturdy watch that will last them a while . The band is pretty sturdy as well . One son did complain that the band dug into his arm a bit , but I think that should soften with time .

The heavy made resin band is very comfortable and with the number of holes in it is easy to fit to one's wrist size . I do not feel tortured by it . . . I have even slept with it on 3 times . It feels like all my other G-Shock watches . This may be because I have a relatively small wrist , and this is one of the few watches that fit me out of the box . . . without adjustment or replacement . Having the band tightened down where the watch does not move back and forth on your arm , will cause the band to bother you . However , you do not have to wear it so loose on your arm as to have it drop to your wrist every time you put your arm at your side . . . for it to be comfortable . My suggestion . . . order the watch first . . . wear it a few days . . . then see if you want to replace the band . Note that the replacement bands are squared at the watch end , and the Casio bands conform to the watch casing , providing a very clean look . By the way . . . the watch itself is wonderful !

I would realistically give the item a rating of 4 1 / 2 stars but that's not an option . I have just recieved this watch today . i was pretty excited about it for the last couple days so i had read all 15 reviews for it here on amazon so i kinda knew what to expect .
after inspecting my new watch i must say the quality is very nice , it feels SOLID not cheap , and it looks very classy as well . perhaps overkill for my day job i dont mind .
it does have features of a high end watch thats for sure , the screw in crown and the screw back case is a nice plus . Of course you already know this by now .
the bezel rotates in one direction only , i personally prefer a bi-directional . . but its ok . the quality seems good on the racheting action of the bezel . there really isnt any play in the gearing of it . its very tight .
The other reviewer was right , its so tight that spinning it with your fingerpads is hard at times . . . however i do it easilly because i grip it the right way .
very good quality precision like .
the mineral crystal is a beautiful dome , i personally prefer this type of crystal , not only for looks and class , but they tend to hold up even better against shock . its science really just research having a collision with a dome vs a flat ppiece of glass . . . so dome faces are TOP NOTCH IN MY BOOK
I use the bezel as a stopwatch , and i use it at least 3 times per day . Of course my concern is wearing it out . . . but i would assume that it is designed to be used a lot.it doesnt feel like its going to wear out , and i have seen cheap watches go years and years . . . this one should last and last and last . . . however . . . i suppose a watch shop could also repair such a simple thing as a rotating bezel anyway .
the luminescent hands and markers seem to hold their glow , once your eyes adjust im sure you will be able to see the time all through the night with these . the blue markers and green hands certainly does stand out . ( however , once your eyes adjust and the light of the markers dies down a bit . . it will all look green )
but if your still having trouble i must say the 2 LEDs on this watch make seeing the time in any condition an easy task . they are BRIGHT . . . . FLASHLIGHT BRIGHT . . . im NOT kidding with you .
TH BAND is my big complaint . . i will be upgrading it soon to a 22mm silicone band ( also on amazon ) because the factory band is VERY stiff , . . and . . . in all actuality . . it is uncomfortable . . it seems durable . . but still . . it rubs your skin the wrong way ( no pun intended )
its also the type of material that cracks over time.i just glanced down and am seeing quite a few red marks on each side of my wrist because of this band . ALSO take note that i put the band on loose not tight to try to avoid this from happening . . . . . looks like im going to need that new band soon . .
THis watch looks beautiful , you would NEVER be able to tell it was 49.99 shipped . .
There is a youtube video of a review of this watch , also a video of a guy who modded this watch with a sapphire crystal . I called my local watch shop and they told me it would run about 100 bux , but they would put a sapphire crystal in it .
Believe it or not it might be worth it . . . this watch is THAT nice .
All in all . . . its extreme value ! im happy with it . .

It's true about the watchband being pretty bad , ( it's rock hard plastic ) but this is easily solved . I went to Longs Drugs and bought a Timex Sport Collection-Replacement for Casio-Water Resistant B - 36 replacement band ( 22mm ) . $5.95 . ( maybe Amazon carries them ) . VERY soft and comfortable band that is also a flatter profile and looks better . I'm a landscaper and wanted a tough waterproof watch , that's easy to read at a glance , yet sharp in appearance . This is a major guys watch . Today's watches are getting to be pretty gimmicky and silly looking , . . . . and I wanted just the old classic design , like this one . I've had it for over two weeks and it keeps perfect time , . . . matching my much more expensive Pulsar dress watch . Very pleased . Thanks Amazon . Many thanks to the other folks who posted their feedback too , . . . . . it encouraged me to go for this one . You were right . It's a quality timepiece at a stunning price . I have had this watch for a month now and I am very pleased with it .
I replaced the plastic band immediately with my own black leather
20mm band with a chrome buckle , since the plastic band buckled on
the last hole on my large wrist . To take the plastic band off I had
to carefully slice the band off by the pins with a razor blade ,
in order to get to reach the pins .
This is a large heavy watch . I wear it on my right hand so the knobs
don't dig into the back of my hand . With a good leather band this watch
looks great . The bezel , crystal , face and case are all top notch .
The backlight is activated for 3 seconds when you press the top knob
and is very bright . It's very easy to read the hands on this watch
day or night .
An amazing thing about this watch is the accuracy . When you unscrew
and pull out the knob to set the time , the second hand stops , so you
can synchronize the watch to a clock exactly to the second .
I set it to my cable box clock and it has only gained 3 seconds in a month .
I checked it every day , and it took ten days to gain a single second .
I would have still been happy with this watch at twice the price .

I've had this watch for a couple months now . The time keeping is within specs , mine is running about 5 - seconds fast per month , well within the + - 20 seconds per month listed by Casio . One feature I'll mention that I didn't see in the Amazon description or other reviews is the quick set date . I think that is a huge feature for a watch at this price point . The quick set date means that you can change the date on the watch without having to advance the hour hand past 12 midnight . I was very pleased to discover that when I received the watch . It is a very handsome watch . The matte black dial and white hands and markers make for very easy reading . The case looks and feels very solid . I like the band as well . The band material is stiff , but it feels robust and suits the watch quite well . The curve of the band where it meets the case looks good . I have no comfort issues with the band . There are a few minor issues with the watch . As another reviewer mentioned , the second hand doesn't line up exactly with each second tick on the face . Also some of the indices on the bezel don't line up with the face markers while some do . Now these are really minor offsets ( less than a quarter minute ) , and the reason I noticed them is because the watch looks so nice I kept on looking at it . The glowing markers last through the night , they're faint after 7 hours or so , but you can see them if you hold the watch up close to your face , that is of course if you don't want to use the light which I wouldn't suggest holding up close to your face to activate in the dark , it's really bright .
I bought the watch based on the pictures on the Amazon website and all the positive reviews , and on having many Casio digital watches in the past . I am happy with my purchase

This just arrived in the mail for me today . I immediately took it out of the box to set and begin wearing it .
My first impression is that it's got a great weight and looks a lot richer than what it costs . I own 10 + watches from different manufacturers ( Tissot , Orient , Victorinox , Timex , Suunto , Citizen , etc ) and the weight of this watch is really better than others it might be compared with . My Citizen Echo Drive BM8180 ( also purchased from Amazon ) is more expensive but feels markedly less substantial than this watch .
The finish on the watch looks top notch . The strap lines right up with the lugs of the watch and sits nicely against the bezel . The bezel itself also turns easily but not cheaply . For a $50 price point , I'm amazed at the apparent quality of the bezel !
The Super Illuminator function is pretty fantastic . When the top crown is pressed the dual LEDs come on and then remain on for 3 seconds after letting the pusher go . Nice feature .
The screw down crown is also a really great feature for increasing water resistance .
There are only a couple points of concern for me . These are minor , but being a watch snob , they definitely stand out . The first is the second hand . As others have mentioned it's slightly off from the indices on the face while ticking . The second concern is setting the watch . When the minute hand is lined up with your upcoming minute and you push the crown in at the 00 mark , the mechanism seems to kick the minute hand in reverse by about 1 / 4 minute . Easily overcome by forward setting the minute hand , but it took a little getting used to . Also , you need to push the crown in with a fair bit of force . It feels a little spongy until it clicks in . Finally , again as others have noted , the band is the most rigid I've ever encountered . I'll give it a week or so to see how it goes , but I'm already thinking about a replacement band or NATO .
Overall first impression , tremendous value for the price ! Definitely worth more than what I paid . Do yourself a favor and pick one of these up .

I've just had this watch for a couple of days , so I can't really speak for it's accuracy at this point , but otherwise it really is a rather impressive piece for around $50 . This is a thick solidly made watch with a rather heavy feel to it , and the 2 LED super illuminator feature is a pretty cool alternative to the Timex indiglo , although LEDs would probably pull a little more drain on the battery over time . I also would like to agree with all the other reviews stating what a piece of cheap plastic the band that comes with the watch is . I replaced the one on mine as soon as I had a chance . Big improvement . Over all though this is a nice solid built Manly looking watch whether your diving or not .

Okay , for the price , you can not go wrong . This is a great watch ! It looks great and the only con about this watch is the band . The band is uncomfortable out of the water and after you been in the ocean especially , the skin begins to soften and the band really seems to dig into your wrist . I had my band replaced the minute I got the watch for $20.00 at Sears with a silicone rubber band .
I would recommend this watch to amateur divers / swimmers out there .

I bought this watch about 3 - 4 months ago and it is great . The light lights up my hallway in the middle of the night like a flashlight . It really is like having a flashlight with you at all times . Very nice if you ask me . The only thing that bothers me about this watch is the band . The body of the watch is kind of bulky yet the band is kind of narrow . Doesn't really match . The band should be considerably wider . Not to mention the fact that the end of the band constantly pops free of the loop that is supposed to hold it down . I was actually online shopping for a new band when I decided to swing on through Amazon and write this review . If anyone has this watch and replaced the band with something else I would love to hear which band you chose . I would buy it again though . . . . . great value !

Purchased this watch as a replacement for a Pulsar Diver's Watch , after reading many reviews and comparison shopping . VERY sturdy , well-built watch , and more than comparable to Diver's watches for 5 - 10 times the cost .
As previous reviews stated , the band could be better quality , but the watch itself is DYNAMITE . Accurate ( as checked with my Waveceptor ( calibrates via satellite three times daily ) that I wear for work ; durable , and expensive looking . . . . without a close-up view , no-one would know it's a Casio . Have received many positive comments , and expressions of disbelief when the make and price were disclosed . The LED illumination is unbelievable as well . Very satisfied , I recommend it highly !

i like my watches and concerned for taking my nice watches under water ( even if they are water safe ) . therefore , i purchased this inexpensive watch to take on vacations and to use in the pool and hot tub . it was a smart decision and has held up nicely while under water . i recommend this watch . it has a nice look and accurate . i did switch the band because it was very stiff and i personally didn't like it . i purchased an inexpensive rubber watch band at my local mall and it is great . i will probably purchase a zulu band for this watch . anyway , i recommend the watch to use for water sports .

Watch is great stylish inexpensive dive watch .
havent used it for diving yet , but expect no hitches there .
just wanted to say that the band comes loose from the strap that holds it down when buckled . that is , it remains buckled , but the slider strap moves up and the excess band wags free .
most people recommend trying another band and it's not too big a problem , but just worth noting . had to dock a star for that . it can be annoying at times .

Good watch for the cost . The LCD light is great , but can cause battery drain . Use light feature sparingly . Bezel is hard to turn initially , but am sure will become easier with time . Good value , but not for deep diving .

Of the many watches wqith a rotating bezel I have owned over years , this is the only one where the bezel stays where you set it . The dial is very easy to read in daytime and at night . The heavy made resin band is very comfortable and with the number of holes in it is easy to fit to one's wrist size . Having owned it for a month or so it has kept exact time as checked by my atomic clock .

I bought this watch last Nov . through Amazon after my Swiss Army Watch finally frustrated me enough to toss it .
This watch is highly reviewed with the only flaw noted being the stiff band . For me the band has not been a problem .
What I love about this watch is that it looks great , keeps perfect time ( unlike the Swiss Army watch ) , is easy to illuminate for checking time during the night , and is very easy to read at a glance .
I'd buy another in a heart beat .

I was really pleased with this watch .
It is really solid and has a hefty feel to it . . not that it is overly large , but just feels well made and rugged .
I was especially pleased with the lighting function , when you hit that button it lights up the dial like no other watch I have seen . THe numbers and hands contrast well with the black face so it is really easy to read the time under any condition .
the watch is very comfortable and looks good . Definitely looks like a much more expensive watch .

If you are looking for good-looking water sport watch for a great price , this is it . I have had mine about a year with no issues . I think it looks great , and it can take plenty of abuse . I swapped-out the band for a Maratec zulu watch strap . The only thing I would change about this watch would be the thickness . With a dress work shirt on it can be difficult to get it out from under the cuff to check the time . But most of the time it is not an issue . Highly recommended .

Bought this nice looking watch based on other reviews . Price was right about 2 weeks before Christmas . Note that price is up now . The illumination isn't really as bright as I expected . It's unique and quite nice . The expected wrist band really is that bad . I don't know how anyone can wear it without putting it over the wetsuit sleeve . I suppose it's meant to be worn that way . Anyhow , I will be replacing the strap with a new one .

It is just as sturdy as it looks , and the light that Illuminates is no joke . In the middle of the night it can light up an entire bedroom well enough to see where you are going . The date calander is located at the #4 marker instead of the usual #3 marker . Took a little getting used to that . Good weighting and a comfortable wrist band make for a great fitting watch .

Keeps good time and it's beautiful . 200m so it's ok to use it in water just be careful not to use the light button underwater . Don't know if anyone used this below water but other than this light button , should be ok .
Speaking of light , this has two leds that can illuminate a keyhole or the next few steps in a staircase , it's that bright and strong ! ! ! Great !

The only complain i have is the rubber / plastic band , it's not very comfortable and too hard , more than my dive watches ! ( these are hard enough but not this hard , you can buy a different band ) . Also , you have the option to buy this model with a stainless steel band but it will be heavier .
The screw down crown is a good feature in this kind of watch .

Well nobody makes my ideal divers watch !
Which would be an automatic ( self-winding ) , mechanical day / date display , and with battery for illumination / indiglo .
That way I'd probably get 5 - 10 years between battery changes and have the advantage of
being able to tell the time in movie theatres , 3AM in bed , etc . That would be perfect but it doesnt exist . Have been using G-shocks for many years and between frequent battery failures ( best to buy a new watch ) , watch band failure ( best to buy a new watch ) , and just sometimes the internal computer going screwy ; I even tried the ones with a 10 year battery and they were no better . I figured my avg . cost per year for these was running too high and it was time for a change .
I miss the rotating bezel type of watches and these cheaper electric rotating bezel dive watches have some disavantages over more expensive ones . The * crystal * on this one is domed and above the bezel ; open to much scratching , typical on this level of watch . It could be better at least . . . . flush with bezel ( Timex Expedition Dive Style Watch ) . It has great illumination which makes me worry about battery life . I surf am left handed ( wear the watch on right arm ) so having the light button on the r.h.s is a bit of a negative due to the way I store wax bits while inside my wetsuit which normally presses against the crown and light button on other dive watches , potentially draining my battery . I find the date display adequate , it would be nice to have a crystal magnifier on a flat crystal recessed below the bezel . A noted negative is that the rotating bezel only turns counter clockwise . I noted no other negatives . The band is typical & comfortable , as opposed to hard and uncomfortable . I purchase Fall 2009 so I obviously can't comment on reliabilty and battery life yet , so I'll give it 4 stars at the moment.Best value in its price range !

083 4 To begin with , I don't dive at all but my primary watch is a Rolex Sea-Dweller , received as a company longevity award a few years ago . I own several much less valuable watches , just for variety , and bought this Casio Sea Analog Illuminator specifically to take on my recent trip to the Philippines , where a very valuable watch can be a theft target . I was attracted by the water resistance , the ruggedness , and the understated good looks of this watch , and when it arrived I was impressed also by both the comfort and the attention to detail , as well as the illumination feature . Upon arriving in the Philippines , one of my relatives was so taken by it that he asked me to make it a gift to him , which I did . Before departing Cebu I fired up Amazon.com and had another one waiting for me when I got off the plane back home . I love my Rolex - don't get me wrong - but I wasn't about to be without this little gem for the days I just want a light , comfortable , masculine watch which isn't too big for my small wrist . When the two LEDs are on it looks like a piece of diving equipment that should be underwater - really neat . I gave it four stars because the band could be better , but it's not bothering me as-is . I love the look and feel of this watch . The band isnt so bad as many reviews have stated but i got a metal band to replace it anyway because I like metal bands over rubber . My main problem with this watch is that the second hand stopped working correctly after less than a week of having it . It was stopped in position and shook back and forth as if it was caught on something . This has been happening periodically so I am returning the watch for a replacement . Hopefully mine was just defective as most reviews seem to be favorable and Casio has always done it up right and made great watches .

I have owned this watch for about a year now , and have over 70 dives on it-fresh and salt water down to 100 ' feet . It has performed flawlessly . I wear it now as my only watch , and for the money , it can't be beat . I just wash it off when I get out of salt water , and it keeps on working . The illumination features works in poor vis and deeper depths . If I ever break or lose this , I'll replace it with the another of the same type .

I thought I was going to be temporarily relocating for work , so I decided to get myself a watch for daily wear that wasn't as dressy as my current Kenneth Cole one .
When I got this watch in the mail ( very quickly ) , I took it out and it looks exactly like the pictures indicate . I tried it on , and felt that it was extremely stylish - I'm a picky guy . I was concerned about the band , but have not had any issues unlike many other customers . I like the ability to turn the topring , which I didn't find difficult . The marker at the 12 , the offset date and the marlin make this watch look like it's more expensive than it is ( always a plus ) .
I have not worn this watch for swimming , diving or in the shower yet - but I'm confident in its abilities to withstand the water . If I have any issues , I'll edit this review in a heartbeat .
Basically - to get a functional and stylish watch for $50 . . . always a good deal .

I read the reviews and ordered the watch along with 2 of the replacement bands mentioned in other customer reviews . First of all , the stock band is fine . . . I do not feel tortured by it . . . I have even slept with it on 3 times . It feels like all my other G-Shock watches . This may be because I have a relatively small wrist , and this is one of the few watches that fit me out of the box . . . without adjustment or replacement . Having the band tightened down where the watch does not move back and forth on your arm , will cause the band to bother you . However , you do not have to wear it so loose on your arm as to have it drop to your wrist every time you put your arm at your side . . . for it to be comfortable . My suggestion . . . order the watch first . . . wear it a few days . . . then see if you want to replace the band . Note that the replacement bands are squared at the watch end , and the Casio bands conform to the watch casing , providing a very clean look . By the way . . . the watch itself is wonderful !

I bought this watch based on the reviews I read on Amazon . I wanted an everyday beater , because it's so inexpensive I can afford to buy a replacement if I destroy it ( unlike my other watches ) . I also , like several other reviewers here , agree the actual product is much better looking in person than in the pictures . I find it hard to believe this is a sub - $100 watch . The timekeepings is accurate , the LED's are very bright , setting the time / date was very easy , I didn't need to look at the instruction booklet . The Casio ( mystery substance ) band however , sucks . I'm keeping it as a back-up , but I highly recommend the Modena 22mm rubber strap several other reviewers have mentioned here . Amazon offers this watch , and this Modena band , as a bundled purchase . I wore the watch for two days , then switched out the Casio band for the Modena . . . a GINORMOUS difference ! ! ! The Modena band classes this watch up , it's comfortable and it has a sturdy , secure stainless steel deployment clasp in place of a buckle . All of my expensive watches have bands with deployment clasps . I gave five stars for the watch , because that is what I was buying , after all . Bands can be changed on a whim . Buy this watch , you won't regret it .

This watch is worth every penny you pay for it . It keeps track of time well , the LEDs at the 12 and 6 positions are a great idea and the watch is very easy to read in any light condition . It's a bit on the small side when compared to other dive watches . I substituted the original plastic band which I found uncomfortable with a Zulu band and now the watch sits well and comfortably on my wrist . The only criticism I have is that the watch is way too shiny , something that doesn't show in the online photos . I think it would have looked better if it were more subdued or even if it had a sandblasted finish .

I am very happy with this purchase . This is one of three watches I purchased in the last year and also the least expensive . The other two watches cost 3 times as much ( around $150 ) ; however , I find myself favoring this watch the most . I purchased the Modena silicone band w / deployment buckle to replace it and it is WONDERFUL . The watch itself is great and I'd give it 5 stars . This is the 1st watch ever I've purchased without checking it out physically at a store . And I loved it the moment I opened the box . The clean design and seemingly robust construction ( only time can really tell ) suits my taste . Many reviewers complain about the band but it doesn't bother me at all .
As a watch lover ( I own other sport watches from rolex , oris , tissot ) , I agreed with another reviewer's disappointment when I found out the second hand did not match tick to tick to the dial . I have had a different Casio style dive watch for about 15 years now ( three different ones as they needed replacing ) . You know the one with with the LCD display at the bottom - I have had a gold faced one and several black faced ones . I love that watch . But I kept breaking them . The band would fall off the pins and it would happen only when I was standing over concrete . POW ! The hands would come off the axle . As my eyes haves started to get worse because of age , I found that I didn't really need the digital display anymore - too small . Besides , everyone has that watch now . So I started looking for a different watch .
I came across this watch and really like the face . As others have mentioned , it has its failings . The crystal is beveled outwards which makes it prone to scratching . The crowns aren't protected by the casing like my other Casio . The bezel is difficult to turn and requires my finger nail to turn it . I wish the face was dark black vs the darker shade of gray that it is . Also , the date is difficult for ME to read unless I have my glasses on .
With all that said , it is a handsome watch and it is keeping great time . I have had more people comment about it than my previous Casio - probably because it just isn't that common of a watch . Haven't had any problems with it but I have only had it for about a month .
But with all the stuff I would change if I was making the watch , I quite childishly find myself looking to see what time it is even when I already know . I really like the look of this watch .

A very elegant and good looking watch . I especially love the black dial .
It is well constructed with quality materials and workmanship . I use it as an everyday watch and love it .
Water resisitant , but dont wear it while having a bath or doing the dishes .
The dual LED acts a flash-light in dark places and to find things inside a car while in motion .
I am glad I got this watch at Amazon , instead of searching it in a store .
There have been several complaints about the strap etc . The fact being that the
strap is good and very comfortable . It is made out of hard rubber and feels soft and sturdy .

not to be overkill , here are the essentials . Beautiful timepiece , as others stated , much more so in person . You would think , as others have , that this is a $100 or more watch comparable to the Citizen and Seiko diver watches I also wanted . But I needed an everyday watch to wear as opposed to my other nicer timepieces . This watch feels sturdy , solid and well built , despite being made in China , guess they hold their factories to high standards . A few quick tips as others said , buy the watch repair tool to remove the band and buy the Seiko 22mm band . It fits nicely , but use the old pins for a better fit . The Seiko divers band is much much more comfortable and nicer in my opinion . Great watch , would buy again in a heartbeat . Many compliments on the first day .
update - months later and still going strong . The Seiko diver band is great . Only issue is the fact my wrist , on occasion , gets schafed from the band or the buckle . unsure . Happens 1 a month .
Overall couldn't be happier and it's now my everyday go to watch . Still looks beautiful and still get many compliments . Has run a second fast , no worries on my part . Precise to the second marker . thankx casio , I'm a believer and now my cousin bought one along with the Atomic . those are cool but not my style .

as my Seiko Orange Monster . As for the controversial resin band , I find it more comfortable than the rubber strap on my much more expensive Seiko diver . Although the buckle end of band is rigid , it is nicely contoured to fit the curve of the wrist so that the watch hangs comfortably . The LED lights are amazing , although the instructions caution that using them often will shorten the life of the three-year battery . I'm not a diver , but I find the Casio diver a sporty , sturdy watch . I wear it while cycling .

I have to say that this is a very nice watch . It is well built , has a rugged feel and look to it and just looks cool . For the price you can't go wrong . I actually like the band it comes with and feel that it is comfortable enough . Casio does not offer this watch with a stainless steel band . As the others have stated , the ( 2 ) LED lights are the brightest I have ever seen on a watch . Two other nice features are the screw down crown and 200 meter ( 600 ft ) water resistance . The caseback is of course a screw down type also . The watch is built solid and made of stainless steel . I know my watches and for under [ . . . ] shipped , this is a great deal .
Update : It's been over a year now ( 13 months ) and this watch still keeps perfect time ( around + 1 second every month ) . It has also proved to maintain it's water resistance being exposed to cold and hot water every day . I wear this thing all the time . It has become my favorite watch . It has definately been put through some rugged wear at work . For those of you reading through these comments considering on buying this - you won't find a better deal for around 50 bucks or less . The original rubber strap feels and looks just fine after a year , and if anything is more comfortable than when I first started wearing the watch .

I have just recieved this watch today . i was pretty excited about it for the last couple days so i had read all 15 reviews for it here on amazon so i kinda knew what to expect .
after inspecting my new watch i must say the quality is very nice , it feels SOLID not cheap , and it looks very classy as well . perhaps overkill for my day job i dont mind .
it does have features of a high end watch thats for sure , the screw in crown and the screw back case is a nice plus . Of course you already know this by now .
the bezel rotates in one direction only , i personally prefer a bi-directional . . but its ok . the quality seems good on the racheting action of the bezel . there really isnt any play in the gearing of it . its very tight .
The other reviewer was right , its so tight that spinning it with your fingerpads is hard at times . . . however i do it easilly because i grip it the right way .

the mineral crystal is a beautiful dome , i personally prefer this type of crystal , not only for looks and class , but they tend to hold up even better against shock . its science really just research having a collision with a dome vs a flat ppiece of glass . . . so dome faces are TOP NOTCH IN MY BOOK

Of course my concern is wearing it out . . . but i would assume that it is designed to be used a lot.it doesnt feel like its going to wear out , and i have seen cheap watches go years and years . . . this one should last and last and last . . . however . . . i suppose a watch shop could also repair such a simple thing as a rotating bezel anyway .
the luminescent hands and markers seem to hold their glow , once your eyes adjust im sure you will be able to see the time all through the night with these . the blue markers and green hands certainly does stand out . ( however , once your eyes adjust and the light of the markers dies down a bit . . it will all look green )
but if your still having trouble i must say the 2 LEDs on this watch make seeing the time in any condition an easy task . they are BRIGHT . . . . FLASHLIGHT BRIGHT . . . im NOT kidding with you .
TH BAND is my big complaint . . i will be upgrading it soon to a 22mm silicone band ( also on amazon ) because the factory band is VERY stiff , . . and . . . in all actuality . . it is uncomfortable . . it seems durable . . but still . . it rubs your skin the wrong way ( no pun intended )
its also the type of material that cracks over time.i just glanced down and am seeing quite a few red marks on each side of my wrist because of this band . ALSO take note that i put the band on loose not tight to try to avoid this from happening . . . . . looks like im going to need that new band soon . .
THis watch looks beautiful , you would NEVER be able to tell it was 49.99 shipped . .
There is a youtube video of a review of this watch , also a video of a guy who modded this watch with a sapphire crystal . I called my local watch shop and they told me it would run about 100 bux , but they would put a sapphire crystal in it .
Believe it or not it might be worth it . . . this watch is THAT nice .
All in all . . . its extreme value ! im happy with it . .
if anything happens to it ill make an update later on as thisis day one .
so far . . so great .

I am a collector of high end watches . My watches are shall we say in a different class then this watch . But as I say this I also like to buy watches that I appreciate the way they look . This watch caught my eye as a functional all around watch . It was inexpensive and seems to be a fairly good watch for the money .
I have no regrets buying this one , and if I was asked about an inexpensive good watch , this one would go in my book ! If you are looking for a decent looking and a watch that so far , seems to be of quality I would say this is a great deal ! The illumination is great too , I didn't know that it had that as a function , and I accidently hit the button and to my surprise it lit up quite a bit . Do yourself a favor and pick up one of these , it is a great deal and looks pretty good too !

This watch rocks , but after 2 days of normal wearing , I found some scratches on the surface of the watch which is not normal for a mineral finished surface . I found it kind of confusing as my other cheap watches are having even more durable surfaces than this watch ( just glass surfaces ) .
Yes , the band is one of the main downside : hard to wear , uncomfortable , and takes quite a time to dry once wet .
The LEDs are great , I start using them as a handy flash light : )
To conclude , this watch worth every penny you've paid for , I'll try it when I'm out at the beach .

Honestly I'm not such a huge fan of Casio . This particular watch was appealing because it was on sale and the reviews were outstanding . I am satisfied with my purchase , but I thought I would leave some details about the watch and I was asked to review my purchase .
It sits pretty tight as in its not flexible , but it is comfortble . I like it , but it's not that thrilling .
It is a remarkable watch . Heavily built with seemingly solid construction . Very easy to read , beautiful to look at and the other reviews are right : The two LEDs are stunningly bright . You will NEVER have a problem reading this in the dark . It is an exceptional time piece and a ridiculous value . The ratchet works very well , the screw down crown is as smooth as you would expect from a very high end watch . This could easily be priced for a few hundred and would be worth it except for one massive flaw : The band is beyond BAD . It may be one of the great engineering failures of the modern era . It is unbearably stiff and has been designed to dig into your wrist like some kind of medieval torture device . Do not buy this watch unless you buy a replacement strap right up front . I did as a previous review suggested and got the Modena 22mm rubber strap with deployment clasp . I took it out of the box and inside of ten minutes the soft rubber it is made with had begun to collect dust and debris . . . Which it hung on to with amazing tenacity ! On top of that , the clasp is flimsy and poorly made . I tossed that into the can along with the original band . I next ordered a 22mm Seiko diver's band also from Amzaon . Success at last ! A tad stiff but a nice tight fit for the watch . Simple black with a standard buckle . Looks like it was the original strap and is very comfortable .

The thin band is cheaply made , size is misleading , and overall quality is just lacking to be a Casio product . It was hard to adjust the rotating ring due to its design and small size , if you are a big guy with big hands like me . This watch is just a big disappointment . Although the light is a nice design feature I would say overall that this is a cheap watch , not built for the long haul .
I would say spend the extra few bucks and buy something like / similar to the Casio Men's AMW320D - 9EV Ana-Digi Alarm Chronograph Dive Watch , I have owned one of these for many years . This watch has a larger face , easier to adjust ring , much better and thicker made band , and just overall is much better quality . I have had the Casio Men's AMW320D - 9EV Ana-Digi Alarm Chronograph Dive Watch for over six years now with only battery and strap replacement and it is still working great .
