Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5-1/2-Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System, Stainless Steel

  • ( and switched to brown rice couple of years ago , but this thing has made brown rice eating so much better . Caution , if you don't plan your meals , or eat rice very rarely , I would not get this because it takes too long to cook rice ( to perfection ) and is too pricey for an occasional eater . We are two people and occasionally cook for guests and 5 1 / 2 cups seem more than sufficient . As to other grains and question : I tried red quinoa in quick cycle and it turned perfect . Basmati rice requires much less cooking time and in a regular cycle it turned mushy , so would recommend stove top for that ( or may be try harder cycle ) . Also , Beware of making some Indian recipes like Biryani and Khichri in this because they may get sticky .
    • 026 4  The purchase was smooth . I got the delivery within 5 days . . every piece intact , billed properly , Thanks Amazon . I was split between Tiger brand JKCR10U and this , but decided on zo , because it was reviewed more . A very stylish look is a plus . I am a south Indian , so I have a special place for rice in my heart , but we decided to eat HEALTHY ( low carb diet ) : ( and switched to brown rice couple of years ago , but this thing has made brown rice eating so much better . • 094 4  Newegg is $50 cheaper , and $70 cheaper for those of us who live in NY . One day later : Amazon matched Newegg's price after I posted this review , though still no taxes for NY residents if you buy from Newegg .

  • 001 4  I've been using this rice cooker for the last two months , and really feel that this is one of the best kitchen appliances that I own . The main advantage of the induction cooker over the regular fuzzy logic model is that when using induction , there is no burnt rice , or any other grain that you make . It may not seem like a big deal to alot of people , but for people that use the rice cooker daily , it is something that is really appreciated . Usually when making brown rice , I use the gaba setting . Some people feel that when making gaba brown rice , the heating / pre-cooking step should be longer to get the maximum health benefits , but I feel that 3 1 / 2 hours is the maximum amount of time I'd ever devote to making a batch of rice . I've been making a lot of quinoa lately , and it comes out perfect . I use the Quick Cooking cycle for quinoa , which takes approximately 25 minutes . The main disadvantage of this rice cooker is the hefty price , but I feel like it's a wise investment in healthful eating . I don't eat out very often , feeling it's too much money to spend on a regular basis for food of dubious quality , so in the long run , using this rice cooker and eating at home more often is a healthier way for me and my loved ones to eat .
    • 029 4  We've had this for two weeks and used it 10 times already , for oatmeal ( steel cut oats , NOT quick-cook version , use the porridge setting ) , sushi rice ( to make onigiri rice balls ) , regular rice . We like the larger model because we like to make lunches for the entire week ahead of time . Needless to say , no more rice-water scum all over the stove , wasted rice stuck to the bottom of the pan . It's great , and easy to use , easy to clean . You'll wonder how you ever had rice without it .
    • 037 4  This is a great rice cooker . I've used it for rice , millet , quinoa , and oatmeal and it does a great job . It cooks grains perfectly and makes an excellent porridge . I would definitely recommend it !
    • 054 4  Best rice I've ever had from a rice cooker , or any method actually . Beautiful machine . Most def worth it . I use it to cook 1 and 2 cups all the time also and it works perfectly .
    • 064 4  this rice cooker reminds me of the quality of cooked rice in japan , especially the home cooked ones . this rice cooker , while expensive , really brings out the quality of cooked rice . i've only used it to cook koshihikari rice , and it did extremely well . the rice came out just right and with perfect moisture . i've left the rice in it on extended warm , about 11 hours , and the rice stayed perfect ! i'll definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a great quality rice cooker ! ! ! i'm planning to buy another one for my parents !
    • 072 4  This rice cooker makes great watery rice aka rice porridge , gabba brown rice and white rice . So far , those are the only settings we've used . It also keeps the rice warm until you need it , without the rice seeming over cooked . Very easy to use and clean . Sings to you when it starts and finishes cooking . Includes a spatula holder than can be put on either side .
    • 073 4  This is a simple review to write . . . this unit is fantastic ; best rice we've ever had , esp . the gaba rice ! I only wish the timer would tell you how long it has to cook . . . Other than that , fantastic . It keeps rice warm for as long as you want and cooks evenly and perfectly every time .

  • 007 4  Reliable , easy to clean , and nicely sized for 2 - 4 people . We've done everything from rice to buckwheat to millet to the best oatmeal I've ever had in my life . The induction cooker really does make a difference and we get wonderfully evenly cooked rice . And the timer function is a lifesaver , especially in the morning . The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish there were cool-touch handles on the bowls , but the rice is easy to extract and this is a minor complaint . Also , one reason we got this instead of a cheaper Zoji was because of the GABA rice capability , but if you want to save the $ $ there are directions on how to make GABA rice just by soaking the rice ahead of time . Do buy it with the Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook if you're planning to do anything more than rice - in addition to recipes , the book is great for giving water-to-grain ratios for just about any grain or legume .
    • 010 4  I've been using the Zojirushi HBC10 fuzzy logic induction rice cooker for about a month and half now , and love , love , LOVE it ! It makes the absolute best rice I've ever had . I especially love the porridge feature and have been making lots of jook . Although the instructions say you can't make jook out of brown rice , I've found that I can if I'm willing to put extra time into it . I run one porridge cycle , let it cool for 15 minutes ( you can't start a new cycle while the bowl is hot ) , and than run the porridge cycle again . My favorite jook is made with Forbidden Rice ( made by Lotus foods ) with chicken broth , and chopped up apple chicken sausage added in the last 20 minutes or so . Yum ! I originally ordered the less expensive Zojirushi NS TGC10 model . When I recieved it , I was dismayed to see that the detachable inner lid was made of aluminum ! It's my understanding that it's very unhealthy to cook foods in direct contact with aluminum . I called the seller who told me that all of the Chinese-made fuzzy logic models are made this way . I returned that model and bought the induction model instead which has a stainless steel detachable inner lid . As a long term cooking and health investment , I feel it's worth every penny that I paid . I wish the bowl was made out of stainless steel rather than non-stick , but I can live with that . UPDATE - 1 Year Later - I've used this rice cooker for almost a year now and still love it . I use the timer to have hot steel-cut oatmeal or jook ready for me when I wake up . I've also used the porridge setting to make risotto which comes out fantastic - with SO much less work than making it on the stove top . It makes fabulous brown rice , and the GABA brown rice is especially good . I've also used it to cook lentils , beans and quinoa , which come out perfect every time . After a year , I still feel this rice cooker is the best kitchen investment I've ever made . I highly recommend buying The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook with this rice cooker . It gives you a ton of great information on different kinds of rice , grains and legumes , and all the things you can do with your rice cooker . The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook : 250 No-Fail Recipes for Pilafs , Risottos , Polenta , Chilis , Soups , Porridges , Puddings and More , from Start to Finish in Your Rice Cooker
    • 050 4  This rice cooker has made life so much nicer . I like the taste and feel of brown rice when it has been in the gaba mode . I have been trying different recipes in the book The Ultimate Rice Cooker cookbook by Beth Hensperger and Julie Kaufman . Tapioca pudding , orange dessert quinoa , japanese barley and rice are some recipes I have tried so far . This rice cooker can be used for more than rice . I like the bowl that the rice is cooked in . This nonstick heavy duty bowl can be taken out to clean . It has lines inside to show how much liquid is used for various kinds and amounts of rice .

  • 012 4  I was in Japan last year visiting my family . I then went to visit an electric store to look for a rice cooker to bring it back to the USA . I did an extensive research by going around talking to experts on these rice cookers who are marketing them . BOY OH BOY there were TONS of them to choose from . Unfortunately , I could not buy anyone since I found out that the electricity would not match . . . . I was heart broken since I enjoy rice meal everyday as a Japanese native living in the USA . When I came back to the USA , I had such a hard time locating what I have seen in Japan and gave up in the end buying some cheap kind . OKEY , few years later , these HIGH quality rice cooker hit the US market ~ ! ! Now its all over the place ~ ! ! And and . . . . . I found this product made to be used in the USA ~ ! I bought it in heart beat , the performance and design is far exceeding my expectation . DOMO ARIGATO ~ ! ! ! ! ! ! Finally available in the USA ~ ! ! ! ! Highly recommended . You would not regret , and has a hell of rice cooker for years to enjoy . It even comes with a factory warranty . Super good deal ~ ! Well worth the price ~ ! ! ! !
    • 062 4  I LOVE this machine ! I originally purchased it just to cook Steele Cut Oats ( do not soak them overnight ) . A friend had cooked some in her rice cooker and WOW , they puff up . Totally different than when cooked on the stove . I found I finally can eat oats and really like them . The rice that comes out is amazing too . You can taste each individual grain . And the keep warm option works a long time ( so far 12 hrs . ) and keeps the rice moist . I haven't tried any other recipes yet . But I'm sure I will like the way they turn out . The tune it plays is a little corny , but them machine turns out most magnificant rice .
    • 066 4  This rice cooker is the one to get ; it's pricier than the aluminum models , but it's made in Japan ( not China ) , and everything inside and out is stainless steel . Everything about it is good , except possibly for the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star music it plays when it starts . . . you can change it but I haven't figured out how yet .
    • 070 4  Life has gotten so much better with a good rice cooker . It makes amazing sushi rice . I especially love the GABA brown rice setting . It makes really good polenta ( on the porridge setting ) . I highly recommend this .
    • 092 4  Had to buy another one , the first one only lasted a year ! Hopefully this one lasts longer , or I will have to try a different brand .
    • 103 4  When the estimated delivery date came , I checked online , and found that there was a difficulty in the payment , so I tried to straighten it out , but I continued to have problems , so I tried to cancel the order , but it couldn't be canceled because it was in process . I went to a store and bought the same item , without any delay . Eventually the second one arrived , which we will gift to our daughter . Payment process is difficult and awkward .

  • 035 4  I have owned at least 4 rice cookers since 1982 . The first was a cheap thing that got as a wedding present . It died . The second two were were passed on to children who flew the coop . The most recent one was a less expensive Zojirushi with the same capacity but not with the same design . This rice cooker is the best rice cooker I have ever used . The pot is thick and distributes heat well . The rice is just the way I like it and it holds the rice overnight without drying it out so that my daughter can take rice with her lunch . It was worth every single hard earned penny to get this one .
    • 076 4  It seemed like a risk because of the price , but this is an excellent ( really excellent ) rice cooker . My wife sets the timer at night and each morning when we get up , this little baby has perfect rice all ready for us .
    • 096 4  This product is made in Japan . . . . Yeah ! ! Some of Zojirushi are made in China . Since Amazon doesn't specify on most of products listed on its website , there is no way to tell . My father loves it since the rice cooking function is easy to learn and the rice tastes so good . He didn't want it at first but after his first attempt he loved this cooker . Highly recommended !

  • 048 4  * note * this is the same review I gave for the 10 cup model . I was debating between the 5.5 cup and the 10 cup so I thought sharing this review here was relevant . * * * * * Did not purchase on amazon . The price here is about $270.00 ( May 2010 ) , that was way too much so I shopped around and scored a new one for $200 shipped on eBay . Honestly even $200 was a lot but based on the reviews , I decided I had to have it . Now I wouldn't say don't buy from Amazon , they are great and if u have issues you can return . I don't think eBay buyers get the 1 year warranty . . . so there is some risk to save some money . First of all the rice cooker itself is really nice looking . Very slick stainless exterior which matches our appliances . I actually wanted the 5.5 cup model , because it's just me and my wife who will primarily use it and obviously we would never cook 10 cups of rice for any reason , but the price I scored was for the 10 cup model so I went for it . Now I am glad that I got the 10 cup model . It really is only 1 - 2 inch's more on each side and tall then the 5.5 cup , so it's not like that big of a difference . But the reason the 10 cup is worth having is you get more space in the inner bowl . So if you are heating pasta , dumplings , porridge etc , there is less chance of water and gunk possibly spewing out . Also if you are doing other recipes besides rice the extra space is nice to have . First thing I did that night ( got home late and didn't really want to cook rice just to cook it ) . I used the quick cook , put some water in and about 6 eggs . I stopped the cook cycle 15 minutes in and had me 6 nice hard boiled eggs ! That night I put some quick oatmeal and set the timer for the morning on porridge mode and the oat meal was fabulous and great have it right when you wake instead of boiling water and waiting . Now I can't wait to try steel cut oats ! Ok , now lets get to the most important thing . . . how does it cook rice ? The first rice we did was a brown rice . Now let me tell you . I didn't mind brown rice before . We had a push button rice cooker , ( National Brand , made in Japan ) so it was a decent cooker on it's own . But every time the brown rice had the same chewy hard texture . . . . edible but nothing to get excited about . So back to the Zoji . . . I had to try the Gaba Rice function . . . . put it in the morning , set the timer for later that night . . . .4 cups of rice . To eat with I grilled on the Weber a New York Strip and chicken drums , potatoes , mushrooms . . . . Anyhow the Gaba rice was OUTSTANDING ! It barely tasted like brown rice . It was soft and it was hard not to inhale it ! It went well with my steak and veggies and my wife commented how good the rice was too . The 4 cups of rice lasted me 2 more dinners and 2 more lunches and I eat a lot more then 1 serving each time . . . . even reheated in the microwave , this rice beats out what the old rice cooker made fresh . Lastly , just wanted to say we were at H Mart ( Korean Market ) last night and of course I spent 10x more time then usual in the rice and grain section . There are so many varieties to choose from . We ended getting some Jasmine Brown Rice , Mixed Grains , Sweet Brown Rice , Calrose Rice and I splurged on a bag of Icheon Korean Short Grain Rice ( on sale for 19.99 - 11 lbs , yes that is ON SALE ! , most I paid for rice by the pound ) - I had no clue why it was so much , but I had to get it , when I got home I did a quick google and apparently it is a very premium rice from Korea ( something about they use to serve it to Royal Kings back in those days . . . lol , works for me . Anyhow the Icheon is on Timer and should be ready in 2 hours . . . can't wait ! * UPDATE * The Icheon Rice was Amazing ! It was made on regular white rice mode and the texture you would have to taste yourself to appreciate . Paired with Pork Belly and Gai Lan ( chinese broccoli ) , perfect meal ! This is easily the best $200 I spent ! * UPDATE #2 * Made some split pea soup ( 1 lb of split peas , 2 small white onions , some dried beef stock and water ) last night using the porridge mode , and it came out amazing ! I have also made a whole wheat cake , brownie , and corn bread in it and all have came out quite well . I did not expect it to taste like oven made , but the bowl itself added some nice crispy textures . Although there is no cake mode in this , don't be worried , just use brown rice and it works out just fine .
    • 002 4  I was expecting this machine to cook rice very well based on previously owning a neuro fuzzy logic rice cooker made by zojirushi , which I've worn out after many years of use . I'm very happy with the new induction heating style of cooking . It cooks brown rice better . Pro's - - Exceptional rice results , almost foolproof . - - Multiple menu settings account for most types of rice , including GABA brown ( which is supposed to make brown rice even healthier ) - - Easy to operate . Select menu setting , add cups of rice to bowl ( rinse the rice ) , fill to applicable mark in bowl , and hit cook button . - - Battery backup . A lithium battery means the cooker will remember its last settings even if you unplug it . If you're a creature of habit , this feature makes it even easier to operate . - - Clock timer with 2 time settings you can set based on the clock's time . Like previously stated , the cooker remembers the timer settings until you change them . I leave my cooker set to have rice ready at 6 : 30a.m . ( to pack for lunch at work ) or 5 : 30p.m ( dinner ) . Con's - - Water level markings in pan are based on the 6.2 oz cup provided ( ~ 3 / 4 cup ) . Don't lose the cup ! - - Expensive ( my justification is it saves me $5 every time I pack rice for lunch instead of eating in the cafeteria ) - - Takes longer to cook rice than the equivalent stove method ( baking or stovetop ) - - Timer is military time only ( so when I said the timer was set to 5 : 30p.m . , it's actually 17 : 30 ) In summary , buy this machine if you want to use the timer function . If you're the type of person who only remembers things at the last minute or don't like to plan meals ahead , keep your money and get a pressure cooker or a good pot instead . It fits my needs perfectly , so I give it 5 stars . I also recommend a Zojirushi lunch jar system if you want to use this to make rice for lunch at work . A lunch jar will keep the rice warm and moist , so you don't have to microwave it .
    • 005 4  I lived in Japan and can tell you that the Japanese are rice fanatics . They are also gizmo fanatics . Well , those two combinations create this most unbelievable kitchen appliance . We use it for Brown ( Gaba Setting ) rice , I never liked Brown rice before , I liked traditional Japanese White Rice . Brown always tasted bitter . Gaba is a very complicated method of cooking rice and you could never do it without a timer , the induction system helps too since it can regulate the temperature on the rice much more accurately . This thing also has some kind of logic chip that controls the cooking . The brown rice comes out sweet and a little nutty . The rice kernels kind of pop in your mouth when you bite . Also , Steel Cut Oatmeal , no problem . I purchased a smaller Zojirushi without logic and no induction . It made a mess ( I live at 6,000 feet , that could be a factor ) . This one makes steel cut perfectly , no mess , beautiful oatmeal . Mix ratio : 1 part oatmeal to 3 parts water . Use the porridge setting . I can't imagine going back to quaker rolled oats . Awesome piece of engineering .
    • 013 4  The difference between a el chepo $25 rice cooker and a fancy neuro fuzzy model was impressed upon me by my colleague . After tasting the rice made by a Sanyo neuro fuzzy rice cooker I resolved to buy a good quality Japanese rice cooker . I brought this rice cooker after looking at all the wonderful reviews here on amazon and other places in the Internet . The rice cooker has lived up to its hype and much more . It really is worth the 5 star reviews . First let me start off with the white rice . It cooks each grain perfectly to the right level of crunchiness . When using the GABA function for the brown rice the grains are just perfectly cooked and very tasty . It is almost like rediscovering rice all over again . We like our rice a little bit more sticky so we add around 10% more water than what the measurements on the pot indicate and the rice turns out perfect every time . The porridge ( congee ) tastes phenomenal . A combination of sweet rice , black rice and some raisins makes for a wonderful breakfast in the morning . We have also tried cornmeal porridge and oatmeal porridge with great success . When it comes to white rice there is not such a noticeable difference between this cooker and one of the cheap versions except that the rice is cooked more uniformly . This cooker really shines when making porridge or brown rice . If you are looking to just cook white rice all the time then you might want to look elsewhere . If you want to try brown rice or porridge then invest in this cooker . You will not regret it .
    • 014 4  I've waited for years to buy the rice cooker of my dreams , and now I have it ! I've cooked rice on the stove for years , and I thought I had a pretty good recipe for that , but when I first used my Zo IH , I could tell a huge difference . The rice was perfectly cooked . So far , I've used white , short-grain rice , brown rice and made porridge . The porridge turned out perfectly , as well . And so easy-I put the ingredients in the night before and used the timer function , and presto ! we had porridge for breakfast . I like to eat porridge ( juk ) plain , with a little salt and sesame oil for breakfast . We tried one of the recipes in the booklet for a one-dish meal which I thought turned out well . I like the little chiming sounds for starting and finishing , although there is a way to change those to beeps or silence . I love the keep warm function . The rice will stay perfect even if we can't eat it just when it's done . One difference is learning how to clean the Zo , which , compared to washing out a pan is a little more tricky , but after 2 - 3 uses , I felt like I had the process down and didn't have to think about it anymore . The pan is super easy to clean , and the other 3 spots to clean were easy to learn and not as complicated as I feared at first . Please , everyone learn to wash your rice before you cook . It does make a difference , and it's not that time consuming . Also please look for the highest quality rice you can get , also the newest rice . It all makes a huge difference , and I swear you will never want to go back to your old rice . I'm hoping to be able to buy farm-fresh rice in this country , but so far have not located a source that would send me fresh rice . But I'm sure I'll find something eventually . Sure , it's a lot of money , but if rice is an important food to you , you can't go wrong with this cooker . Zojirushi is a reputable brand , so I'm counting on many years of use . I saved a little money each month till I had enough , then bought it .
    • 018 4  I was first intrigued when almost EVERYONE gave this product a glowing 5 - star review . ( The statistics were similar for the companion models . ) Still , I was skeptical , but interested enough to invest the rather steep cost to get this model . WOW . It is an awesome rice cooker . I've never tasted rice like this , and I've had a lot of rice over the years . It's delicious , it's soft , it's flavorful , in short - it's PERFECT . And it's easy to use and foolproof . The GABA rice is superb . Yes , it takes 3.5 hours , but that's because there is a 2 hour soaking at 104 degrees before the cooking begins . It's worth the wait . It prepares the best brown rice I ever tasted . The only wish item is the timer . It doesn't count down . If you want rice in , say , 6 hours , it shows 6 hours but doesn't count down the time as time passes . That's kinda strange , but I can live with this since the rice is great . Did I say , it's perfect ?
    • 022 4  This is the second time that I really feel the urge of getting here and writing a review . I usually don't do it unless the product is really extraordinary , or really bad . My first time was with an awful product , and now with a great Rice Cooker . I have just had my first ( GABA Brown Rice ) experience with this machine . And I have to say that I seriously fell in love with it . Rice done in the exact time it says in the manual . I was not going to be at home by the time the cooker would finish cooking the rice , so I found the machine in automatic keep warm mode . When it was time to have dinner , I first tasted the rice , while I was finishing cooking something else . And I couldn't believe the shape , temperature , texture and taste of the rice . No trace of water , nothing sticked on the pan , rice was like crispy on the outside , and the perfect kind of soft on the inside . And from then on , I just couldn't stop opening the lid to grab spoons of rice , until I served it , and ate the whole portion ( I usually eat half of a cup , and the other half in the next seating ) . Again : the rice is the best I have ever had . And I made the mistake of preparing some lightly sauted vegetables ( onions , carrots and zucchinis ) which I added to the rice , in a stupid mechanical action , that is what I do when I cook the rice by the mechanical way , because the taste is not so great so the vegetables add some flavor to the rice . This time they spoiled some of the experience , since I felt that this rice needs nothing added in it . It stands on its own , like I discovered with a tiny portion that I saved for last , without the veggies . Cleaning the unit : ten seconds . Soft sponge , a drop of detergent , warm water , and just like the silk , the pan itself seemed to let any minuscular dust that was slightly adhered to the inner surface of the pan . One downside to the product : the extended warming mode doesn't work for the Brown Rice , nor the GABA Brown Rice ( and not for others too ) , and they are the only two ways in which I will have the rice , ever . So , it would have been good to know in advance , since the extended warming mode was a definite point in favor of this machine . Sorry for the lenght of the review , I hope that it helps .
    • 023 4  I have had Zojirushi rice cookers for 15 years and would not buy any other brand . This induction heating rice cooker is the BEST one I've ever had . I can find NO fault with it and absolutely love it . One of the features I like is that you set the timer for when you want the rice to finish cooking as opposed to when you want it to start cooking . How convienent is that ! ! Ebay is selling them for a much better price ! ! : - )
    • 031 4  I was used to my college rice cooker for the last decade . That gave out and did some research and got the Zojirushi . At my local Japanese mega store that is pretty much all they carry . Takes a bit more time to cook . I'd say add about 15 - 20 min to cooking time . But the rice is just PERFECT . Never in my life have I had brown rice actually taste good ! If you make rice in the old machine and eat it an hour after its done , it tastes old and not quite warm and too dry . This ' keep warm ' actually does what you ask . It's as if you actually just made the batch of rice , even thought the rice is 4 - 5 hours old . The size is perfect for my wife and I to cook small batches ( 2c ) or 5 c when we have people over . Made regular short grain , sweet , and brown rice . All great . Highly recommended .
    • 047 4  I purchased to replace the NS-ZCC10 that I've owned for a couple of years . . . . nothing wrong with my older one , I just wanted the brown rice option that the HBC10 offers . I gave my old Zo to a good friend so I could justify buying this one . It is just fantastic . It produces rice so good that I actually crave it . And I'm making more brown rice now as well . There is simply no other rice maker line on the market that can compare to the Zo and the Induction system is the best .
    • 058 4  Absolutely superb machine . I can not recommend it highly enough . More than rice , it handles grains beautifully . Steel cut oats , cooked perfectly , and ready whenever you wake up ! Pearled barley or rye for a salad . Everything I've thrown at it so far comes out great . ( just don't forget to set it for porridge when you cook the oats , or you'll have a mess to deal with ) If you're on the edge , buy it . You won't be disappointed . This one won't end up in the back of the cabinet with the juicer , the magic bullet , and the Ronco whatjamajigit .
    • 060 4  We've had this almost a couple weeks now , for two people . I think our normal use is going to be : cook a big batch of white rice to keep warm ( on extended keep warm setting ) for a couple days , for meals and quick snack or breakfast . My husband can digest the GABA brown rice better than regular brown rice , but it is still a little harder on his sensitive digestive system , so I am making batches of that kind just for myself , to reheat as needed . ( It reminds me a bit of oven-baked steel cut oats , just not gummy and pasty . . . ) It seems to germinate better if you add slightly warm water and let it sit a few hours before it starts the GABA warming / cooking cycle ; I set it up in the evening with the timer set to have it done at 6 AM . As far as the white rice goes , we've tried a few different kinds , but even the cheapest unrinsed long grain white rice comes out great , compared to boiling or cooking in the cheap plastic microwave rice cooker . Also , on the first day I cooked calrose sushi rice for sushi rolls and it was perfect ( didn't need to cook 4 cups for 2 people though , lol ) .
    • 061 4  We were a little hesitant to buy this rice cooker because of the price . We eat a decent amount of rice , but not for every meal and not every day . Still , I thought it would be nice to try one with the induction heating , and we liked the Zojirushi website . Needless to say , I never knew rice could be this good : D Every type of rice was amazing . Sushi rice was excellent . It spread on the nori very easily for making sushi . Oh , and the GABA brown rice was soo good it made a boring vegetable soup taste great ! If you definitely do not want to spend this much on a rice cooker , there are other options , but if you're not sure , I say take the leap ! We almost didn't buy this one , but are now VERY glad we did . We originally thought the quality wasn't going to be that much different , but it absolutely IS !
    • 071 4  Although expensive , it was all that I expected . I had a simpler Zojirushi rice cooker before this , and this one is way better . I think the induction heating does the trick , absolutely no burning or even tanning of the rice on the bottom , and much easier to clean . Works fine for even 1 / 2 cup of dry rice ( using the cup that came with it , which is smaller than a regular cup ) . It is smaller than it looks in the pictures , at least for my eye .
    • 078 4  I upgraded to this from a regular heating white 3 - cup unit when I redid my kitchen . It looks great , works superbly , and has a spatula holder on the side which my old model was inexplicably missing . However . . . it's NOT silent ! There's a little fan in the bottom , I'm guess 60mm , I guess for cooling the electronics ? Very odd . It's not loud at all , but it's strange to hear , and it makes me worry about the longevity of the unit . It would be better without any moving parts . It does cook various types of rice and quinoa really well , even on the quick cook setting .
    • 101 4  I been looking all over for a full stainless steel inner pot so I dont have to worry about toxic chemical coated inner rice pots . After a few months of use , normally the inside of the pot will begin to peel . I must have replaced the inside like 5 times . not to mention it is not cheap to replace . I was searching the web and found a truly full stainless steel interior that carries a lifetime warranty . heres the link ! hope ya like cause I love it . [ . . . ]

  • 080 4  I've owned this rice cooker for four months now . I use it about 3 to 4 times a week with stellar results each and every time . I've made rice , short grain rice ( to make sushi with ) , brown basmati rice , short grain brown rice , mahogony and wild rice mixed together , and even quinoa with it . They have all come out perfect with it . A lot of times , I'll throw in the rice in the morning and don't even think about it until dinner comes around , at which point I have perfect rice waiting for me . However , I must say that when I did this with quinoa , I felt it came out a touch bitter ( it had been in there for almost six hours ) . I've also made gabba brown rice but have to admit , didn't notice a difference with regular brown rice . I grappled with which size to get for a good month before I actually ordered it . We're a family of five and I was making a rice or grain each night with dinner ( never had my results come out this perfect even though I'm a pretty good cook ) . If you don't know what size to get either , I have some helpful information to guide you . The inside of the rice cooker bowl has lines which show how much water you need to put for the type and amount of rice you're making . Please note that the following cups refer to the rice cooker cup which is smaller than a regular cup ( it's about 3 / 4 of a reg measuring cup used to measure dry ingredients ) . If you make white rice , you can use up to 5.5 cups of rice . If it's mixed , then the max is 4 . For brown , it's 4 and for sweet , it's also 4 . If you're making sushi rice , you can make 5.5 . For porridge , 1.5 .
    • 011 4  We've had this rice cooker for a couple of months and absolutely love it . Most of the time , I cook brown basmati rice on the GABA brown setting . It's easy to prepare a cup of rice in the morning before I go to work and so satisfying to have the best brown rice when we get home . I've also cooked steel cut oats using the porridge setting ( fabulous results , even better than cooking it in the slow cooker ) and quinoa using the quick cooking setting . I love that I don't have to watch the pot , wait for water to boil or clean up any boilovers .
    • 041 4  After much debate and research , I finally decided to shell out the money for this rice cooker because I'm a rice-a-holic . I'm so happy I bought this rice cooker . This is such a wonderful cooker with so many features , and it makes perfect rice each time . Besides rice I've made porridge and cooked quinoa and barley , and they've turned out perfectly . My favorite setting by far is the GABA setting for brown rice . This setting makes the fluffiest , most full body brown rice your brown-rice-loving taste buds can imagine . The extended keep warm setting is a nice advantage , too , for when you want to make a lot of rice but can't eat it all in one day . The extended keep warm does not burn the rice , either , although it is a good idea to occasionally open the lid and stir the rice as the rice does tend to stick to the bottom and turn a bit brown ( not burned ) . Essentially , if you are looking for a good rice cooker , you can't go wrong with this one . Oh , and it's sleek and modern-looking , too , if that's something you take into consideration .
    • 087 4  April 8th , 2009 . I literally use this product everyday . I've owned it now for a little over 30 days and I love it ! The timer feature is great . Easy to clean , and perfect rice and steal cut oatmeal every time . This was money well spent !

  • 082 4  I had the fuzzy nuero and loved it so much I had to upgrade . Completely worth it . Nails the perfect brown rice exactly the way I like it . I read plenty of reviews on both models before I purchased and most people seemed like they didnt know how to adjust water levels in order to make the rice the way they like it . It's a pretty straight forward operation . If you dont like the way it cooks the 1st time , put a litte more or a little less next time until you get the right amount . I should mention I only make and eat brown rice , so I cant really comment on the other rice types but Im sure they are just as perfect . Oh , and the cooking bowl is cleaned with a paper towel or a sponge in like 10seconds . Thats all the cleanup required . That alone makes it worth its price .
    • 024 4  Amazingly easy to use and the rice comes always perfect . . . better than any previous rice cookers I have used - especially if you need to cook more than 1 cup at a time ! Highly recommended .
    • 032 4  We had the same cooker while living in Japan . The only difference we have seen between the Japanese version and this one is that the writing is now in English . . . works exactly the same . Recommend using the cooker with California rice ( ex : Nishiki or Hinode ) for best results . Great value if you are serious about rice . . .
    • 056 4  Simply put - - I love rice . I work almost 12 hours a day and don't have time to soak rice , watch it on the stove , or even use a $30 rice cooker that constantly boils over . I was somewhat skeptical of a $250 rice cooker , because a high priced item doesn't always mean it does a good job . But after reading all the positive reviews I ordered it . I cannot say how perfect of a job this does cooking rice every time - - even brown rice . Trust me , you will love this . Yes , its an investment , but for busy people , or people who just want wonderful , perfect rice every time , this is great .

  • 091 4  I have gone through 2 cheap rice cookers . It was very nice not to have water all over the counter or burnt rice on the bottom of the pot . I am glad I upgraded and paid the money for a wonderful rice cooker .
    • 086 4  It is a great rice cooker , though on expensive side . But for a Bengali family from India it really works nicely for any kind of rice . We are very happy .

  • 099 4  After almost every day , but gentle use for 15 months , it just stopped working . If you think 15 months are long enough , you may go ahead on your risk . For me , it was not worth the expensive price . Cooking itself was a O.K . , but not much better than other rice cookers I have used before .
    • 043 4  i am 70years old i have tried every rice cooker on the market this one is the bestthis is the second one i have purchase this one for my sister

  • Steel-cut oats for breakfast : add 1 / 2 cup oats to bowl ; wash a few times until the water is mostly clear ; add water to slightly above 1 brown rice mark ; press timer button ; select porridge setting . Great oats are ready in the morning . Adjust the water addition to your personal preference . I add spices , fruit and ground flax later so I need it wet enough . Some residue gets on the top plate and into the steam vent . I set the top plate in water while eating to make it easier to clean . Quinoa + oats : add 1 / 2 cup of each into bowl ; wash a few times to get mostly clear water ; add water to 1 white rice mark ; cook as regular white . We enjoy this grain mixture at meals . It saves well in the refrigerator . Saute some onions , etc and add the grain at the end to heat it . Hulled Barley : cook as brown rice . I like it with slightly extra water . I cook 1 cup barley at slightly above the 1 brown rice water mark . Amaranth : I've haven't tried it enough to make a recommendation as yet . The regular white rice setting overcooked it .
    • 003 4  The cooker has done excellently . All of the rice types have been great . I'm using it for other grains . After some experimenting , here are my methods so far : Steel-cut oats for breakfast : add 1 / 2 cup oats to bowl ; wash a few times until the water is mostly clear ; add water to slightly above 1 brown rice mark ; press timer button ; select porridge setting . Great oats are ready in the morning . Adjust the water addition to your personal preference . I add spices , fruit and ground flax later so I need it wet enough . • 033 4  Great rice cooker . First I ever owned . Easy to understand , operate , and clean . Love the timer feature . I mostly make brown rice , and only give a quick rinse to brown rice or it cooks too mushy . I also use a little less water than the water indicator suggests . Use this just about every day . Saves so much time from pressure cooker or pot cooking rice . Nothing to monitor .
    • 063 4  I use this cooker to cook my brown rice almost everyday . It is excellent ! Also I set a morning timer for steel cut oats porridge . Unlike the other reviews , I think the porridge water setting on the manual is pefect for an asian porridge . Besides the price , the only two inperfections are : 1 . when I open the lid after cooking , there's some water dripping down from the Steam Vent Set and staying at the back handle . May be there's too much water in the Steam Vent after cooking porridge , or this steam vent set is not sealed well enough . 2 . the Inner Cooking Pan is a little bit hard to take out with one hand . Anyway , as a picky asian , I still think this rice cooker is an excellent one to cook brown rice .
    • 067 4  Are you tired of rice that is sometimes great and sometimes only so-so ? Do you put your rice on high and forget to turn it down until you smell it burning ? Well , this rice cooker will solve those problems forever ! It's so easy , and the rice , whether brown or white , is perfect every time . All you need is a few stir-fry recipes and you can enjoy quick , easy , and nutritious meals . It's so easy to clean - no more scrubbing those scorched pans or stove tops ! I can't say enough about this product .
    • 075 4  Well it really does cook the rice so that it is nice ! How could I live w / out the extended warming feature before ? I have no idea . No more dried up rice .
    • 090 4  I have been very pleased with this rice cooker . It is user friendly . The time delay function makes for an easy dinner . The rice is perfectly ready when I get home from work . We have used this cooker for several kinds of rice , but mostly brown , and have not been disappointed . Clean up is easy . I would recommend spending the extra money to get the nicer model .

  • Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) This is the second NP-HBC10 induction heating rice cooker I have owned , the first having been given to my son in a moment of weakness . As there are a great many reviews already , I'll just sum up the pros and cons as I see them . PROS The rice cooker is attractively styled and easy to use . As other reviewers have noted , be sure to remove and wash the inner lid after each use . This takes only seconds . The control panel is clear and the interface is intuitive . While one should always read the manual one can operate the cooker without reading a single page . Build quality , workmanship , fit , and finish are excellent , as they should be for the price . The extended keep-warm function is incredibly effective . I have often held rice overnight and found it warm , moist , and not crusty the following day . Cleanup is easy as the machine lacks many of the nook-and-cranny rice catchers of some other brands . Brown rice is cooked to perfection every time . I don't often bother with the GABA cycle but for people who believe that it makes a difference , it is there to use . The congee cycle ( porridge , they call it ) works well and not just for that purpose . You can keep soup hot , etc . I notice that the manual advises against this but I have done it many times . Replacement parts can be ordered through the internet , if needed . The greatest risk I see is dropping and denting the cooking vessel . In a conventional unit , this might not make much difference but with induction the difference can be huge . It works well for steaming , despite the concerns of those who opine that fuzzy logic cookers will not do so . You will , however , need to provide your own basket . If you follow the recipes closely , the rice will always come out properly cooked and never crusted on the bottom . I've not had a single failure and I cook and eat lots of rice . The cooker has amazing versatility . Steel cut oats for breakfast . . . yummmmm Overall , it reeks of quality . That may be of greater importance to some than to others . CONS The stainless finish is an extra cost and essentially the same model can obtained in white for a bit less . Zojirushi NP-KAC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System Induction heating consumes a bit more energy than conventional heating . Not a lot , but some . The cost is high . A conventionally heated unit that works almost , but not quite , as well can be had much cheaper . Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker and Warmer , Premium White Retractable cord would have been nice . Mine stays plugged in all the time because I use it so often but others might find the cord a bit of a nuisance . OVERALL Highly recommended . This is the best non-pressure rice cooker on the market , hands down . The sweet taste of perfectly prepared rice dishes will last long after the bitterness of the price has faded . If you want a pressure rice cooker , Zoji has those , too , but the price is even steeper . Zojirushi NP-HTC Induction Heating Pressure Rice Cooker & Warmer - Color : Stainless Brown , 5.5 cups / 1.0 liter
    • 004 4  The rice cooker is best in class ie five stars . The only negative thing about this rice cooker is that it last about 1 year before it fails . I have just recently had my second rice cooker fail and this time it lasted about 1.1 years similar to the first rice cooker . After contacting Zojirushi they gave me a repair place for the rice cooker . I have already purchased my 3rd zojirushi rice cooker and the repair for the second one will cost $136 dollars . The nice thing is that you can get it repaired and the customer service was really nice on the phone . Both failures caused the digital display to lock up .
    • 006 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) Reliable , easy to clean , and nicely sized for 2 - 4 people .
    • 008 4  I just retired the Zojirushi rice cooker I was given by my mother over 10 years ago which she used . This is a worthy replacement . It is even better with the multiple settings than the one button . ( you know what I'm talking about ) But face it , guys aren't supposed to be into appliances but I can't stop thinking this is sweet looking every time . A cool thing is the clock is already set when you get it . It has a battery . I thought it was a sticker at first and tried peeling around the display . ( Don't be mean ) Yeah it really is expensive but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for . After the previous Zojirushi's track record I am brand loyal . If you eat rice frequently and have a small family you won't be disappointed by any of their rice cookers , but this will be the best looking one in the family .
    • 009 4  Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel My old dime store rice cooker finally died a few weeks ago so I got online to shop for a new one . I tried the high-end brand names I usually buy for my kitchen since I love to cook and invest in good quality items . The selection of typical hot pots with and on-switch was endless . Even the better brands only offered a sleeker look for the higher price . And then there were a couple foreign makers at very high price tags . I browsed them just to see what made them so proud of thier product and figured they would be for commercial use or something . After I read the features and looked back at the others , they all just looked pitiful . I have delayed starts , keep warm , audible finish signals , and LED read-outs on other kitchen and household appliances , so why not a rice cooker . I just hated to pay that much just to make rice . After all rice is rice and it's not like we eat rice every day or even every week . I tried making rice one night on the stove and that was awful . I finally bought the Zojirushi 5 cup induction in stainless for the convenience features . The delay start and keep warm are hard for a busy mom to resist . It looked nice in my kitchen when I got it out of the box . The instruction book was a bit intimidating until I realized it was mostly sections in other languages . The English section made sense and is much easier to operate than my cell phone . The first pot of rice was with my regular store brand . Rice is rice , right ? Nope . This stuff had an aroma , texture and taste that was wonderful . It was like trying a new food . Had I known how fabulous it would taste , I'd have bought it for the food quality alone . Sure it was an investment and a risk . It could have arrived and just made . . . well . . . rice . But it didn't . After the first meal , there was no more discussion about the expense for plain old rice . This new stuff was well-worth it . Now if it's buying one of these or paying your electric bill , keep the lights on . You have other things to worry about . But if this is within your reach , it would be a sound investment . I truely enjoy cooking and trying exotic foods . My mother-in-law has become very trusting over the years and will try anything I make even if she can't pronounce or recognize it . Sadly , rice ( well this new stuff ) had never been on the menu much . All that has changed . My sushi can stand up to any sushi restraunt . Just think what you'll save by making your own California rolls . I'm reading Asian cookbooks that have been collecting dust in my archives for years . Now I know what they were talking about . You have to start with great rice . Even if you don't cook and aren't a foodie , this is still the right machine . Should this sturdy little gizmo ever need to be replaced , it will be with a Zojiurshi .

    • 021 4  We bought this one in replacement of old Zojirushi rice cooker which has been serving our family daily for the past six years . It is pricy , but you pay for what you get , it is so true in this case ! Every day , we cook porridge in the morning and GABA rice in the evening straight for two months , trying to break it down . It is still working ! Porridge comes out really nice and thick . My 2 - year old girl loves it . I have to tighten my belt a bit now since I have been eating GABA rice for the past two months . This rice cooker can cook good quality rice and help you to lose weight . The only part of the rice cooker I missed is the cool-touch handle my previous rice cooker has . You have to leave the inner-pot inside the rice cooker since it has no handle and too hot to take out .
    • 025 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) The purchase was smooth .
    • 027 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) We eat rice frequently , especially brown rice , and after much research we chose the Zojirushi HBC10 . We also have significant brand loyalty after owning a Zojirushi breadmaker for the past fifteen years and it's still perfect . This rice cooker is perfect in every respect , even the cleaning is a snap . We just made the GABA brown rice for the first time and everyone agreed that it was the best rice they had ever eaten anywhere ! Build quality is exceptional and we love it !
    • 030 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) I was used to my college rice cooker for the last decade .
    • 034 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) I have owned at least 4 rice cookers since 1982 .
    • 036 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) This is a great rice cooker . I've used it for rice , millet , quinoa , and oatmeal and it does a great job . It cooks grains perfectly and makes an excellent porridge . I would definitely recommend it !
    • 038 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) I resisted buying a rice cooker because I didn't want another kitchen appliance taking up space on the counter top or in the cupboard . This cooker was suggested by a friend who swore by it . . . When I saw the price I almost fell over , but eventually talked myself into it . I'm addicted to it . The GABA brown rice is awesome . Trust the Japanese to design such a fabulous cooker . It looks great and does the job . By the way , I usually cook rice for one and chose the mid sized as I heard the small does not do as good a job as the larger ones . Even though the price was high it was worth it .
    • 040 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) After much debate and research , I finally decided to shell out the money for this rice cooker because I'm a rice-a-holic .

    • 044 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) After cooking Steel Cut Oats for breakfast in my microwave for a year , I found that too labor intensive ( cutting back heat level , stirring ) so I searched the Amazon reviews for a rice cooker that would do the job unattended . This Zojirushi induction heated cooker seemed best suited for my needs . I bought it 3 years ago and have used it every morning for my SCOs ( with added dried fruit ) , taking it with me on trips to use in h / motel rooms . I appreciate that it keeps my SCO mixture warm and edible for even hours after it's finished cooking . This machine is also excellent for cooking varieties of rice with different heats , times , as well as other dishes ( e.g . , chicken cacciatore , etc . ) . There are 2 minor things I wish it had : an auxillary handle to lift the hot metal pot out so I don't need to use a folded paper towel , and , it'd be nice if one could press a button to see the how much cooking time remains ( it does switch from regular clock time to minutes left to cook at about 5 minutes before completion ) . But these wishes aren't so important to me to knock my rating down from 5 stars . Superb cooker .

    • 046 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) I purchased to replace the NS-ZCC10 that I've owned for a couple of years . . . . nothing wrong with my older one , I just wanted the brown rice option that the HBC10 offers . I gave my old Zo to a good friend so I could justify buying this one . It is just fantastic . It produces rice so good that I actually crave it . And I'm making more brown rice now as well . There is simply no other rice maker line on the market that can compare to the Zo and the Induction system is the best .
    • 049 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) This rice cooker has made life so much nicer .
    • 053 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) Best rice I've ever had from a rice cooker , or any method actually . Beautiful machine . Most def worth it . I use it to cook 1 and 2 cups all the time also and it works perfectly .
    • 055 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) Simply put - - I love rice .
    • 057 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) Absolutely superb machine .
    • 059 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) We've had this almost a couple weeks now , for two people .
    • 065 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) This rice cooker is the one to get ; it's pricier than the aluminum models , but it's made in Japan ( not China ) , and everything inside and out is stainless steel . Everything about it is good , except possibly for the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star music it plays when it starts . . . you can change it but I haven't figured out how yet .
    • 068 4  we decided to upgrade our old standard Zojirushi rice cooker purchased at around $100 7 - 8 yrs ago . It was working just fine , but we wanted to have brown rice cooking function . the new cool-looking rice cooker has been doing its job very well since we bought it about a month ago .
    • 069 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) Life has gotten so much better with a good rice cooker . It makes amazing sushi rice . I especially love the GABA brown rice setting . It makes really good polenta ( on the porridge setting ) . I highly recommend this .
    • 077 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) I upgraded to this from a regular heating white 3 - cup unit when I redid my kitchen .
    • 079 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) I've owned this rice cooker for four months now .
    • 081 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) I had the fuzzy nuero and loved it so much I had to upgrade .
    • 083 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) I just got this rice cooker and I love it . I'm sorry that I waited so long to buy it . I had a cheap rice cooker and it was terrible . . . I'd rather cook rice on the stove . The Zojirushi is always good whether you cook Japanese rice or regular rice but it does take longer to cook the rice 45 - 60 minutes . It is easy to clean . My only regrets . . . not getting it sooner and not getting the 10 cup size but the 5 cup is great for everyday .

But for a Bengali family from India it really works nicely for any kind of rice . We are very happy .

    • 095 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) This product is made in Japan . . . . Yeah !
    • 097 4  This review is from : Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5 - 1 / 2 - Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System , Stainless Steel ( Kitchen ) We have used several other automatic rice cookers and other Zojirushi products . Comparing to other auto rice cookers , this is an average auto rice cooker with several high-Tech gimmicks . If you have good rice , other less expensive rice cookers ( other two brands we had before ) will also give you the same delicious taste . Relatively , this product is over priced ! !

I went to a store and bought the same item , without any delay . Eventually the second one arrived , which we will gift to our daughter . Payment process is difficult and awkward .
