025 4 Needed a chop saw and as always , the 1st place I go to is Amazon . I had my mind set on a different saw , but when I was scrolling about , this Hatachi popped up @ a third of the price of any , plus free shipping , and a gob of accessories . It got to me in 4 days , a third of the expected $ , and free shipping . Bonus ! ! I personally have great luck with Amazon . I don't think I'm alone . When ever I need anything , I look forward to researching and buying whatever it is on Amazon because saving money and having the best selection is as good as it gets ! If you've never made a purchase on Amazon , try it , I'm not getting compensated for this , I'm being honest . Spending my hard earned doe on Amazon , empowers my spending dollar , in this case by 3 - fold . Oh ya , the saw is fantastic ! jeff
009 4 This saw is unusually well made , sturdy , powerful , accurate . I am a retired building contractor and this is one of the best values I've seen .
033 4 My husband loves his new saw . He's in construction so needs it often . On the other hand the shipping dept . needs to be looked into . I'm suprised it made it here in great shape , the box was to flimsey for the product and was falling apart when it arrived .
042 4 I saw this at Lowe's for same price ; and when I use a 10% discount coupon I save even more . On two occassions I have gone to the store manager and asked for a 10% discount and very nicely said I could go to Home Depot instead . I usually get the discount .
068 4 I love this saw - sometimes you just don't need the added weight and capacity of a 12 and / or slider . This saw is well made , has good accuracy , and comes with a decent blade . Certainly not the saw to end all saws , but if you want mostly square cuts on small stock , this saw works perfectly , and for the price , it can't be beat . I use it to trim floorboards to length , and the saw works perfectly for my application . Occasionally I will cut straight 45 degree miters , and when I have done that , I've found the miters to fit perfectly . I can't really comment on the saw's accuracy for compound cuts - I haven't had much occasion to use that feature .
086 4 I've been a huge Dewalt supporter until I bought this saw . Nothing bad to say about it . Preforms every bit as good as my previous Dewalt saw , if not better . I'm glad I stepped out of the box . I would recommend this saw to anyone .
104 4 I replaced a 12 year old similar Delta saw with this product and I am very pleased . I don't know if it's the difference between an old saw and a new one or the difference in brands but Hitachi wins hands down . The Hitachi cuts smoothly , is quiet and has very little vibration . I'm waiting on the rebate item but I'm sure it will be nice too . I highly recommend this saw , especially for the price .
026 4 I bought this saw at Lowes a couple years ago for $99 which is a great price now , but I was kicking myself because I had just missed the sale of $79 ! ! ! We did an addition on our house and the bevel cuts came in handy for doing the tounge-and-groove pine celing . Its a great saw , seems very strong and well made . There was a model for about $50 more that had a laser , and I'm wishing I had spent the extra $ $ for it . It's a little hard to determine exactly where the blade is going to come down on your cut as the slit in the base doesn't always seem to line up with the blade like you'd think it would . Thats why it's not getting 5 stars , but it is a great saw and I'm very happy with my purchase . The bag that catches sawdust though . . . it's like a decoration for all the good it does . But from what I hear that's normal for these saws .

This is a nice enough saw . It was on special for $99 , shipping included , which I figured was a dynamite deal . The saw's auxiliary fence is tricky to assemble , but other than that it went together with no problems . It'd be nice to have a laser line , not provided on this saw .

I can't understand how this item can retail as low as it is . I got it on a gold box special for $99 . shipped . It works great . I added an Irwin laser guide for $20 . Cuts are clean and accurate . No complaints . Just amazed at the value .

This is a good saw at a good price . I don't know how it would hold up to daily , heavy , use , but for a weekend warrior like me , it performs very well .
Only thing I don't like is that the bag that is supposed to catch the sawdust doesn't work . The sawdust goes everywhere . However , these bags don't work on other saws I've used , either .
I'd buy it again . Especially for $99 !

I got this saw for $99 on Amazon.Just cant beat that price.Plus , I had an Amazon coupon for $50 so I got the saw for $49 ! ! Unheard of ! ! The saw cuts great.Like a hot knife through butter with no bogging.I was cutting 4x4 ' s with no problem at all.I dont know how often this saw goes on sale but here's a little advice.Wait it out if you can.One day the saw was $145.95 and the next day I checked it was $139 . I made my decision to go ahead and buy it the following day and it was $99 to my surprise.Needless to say this made me very happy and bought it without hesitation.Wait it out because it seems that alot of the people got it for $99 . It is a very nice saw but doesnt come with the extensions which kinda stinks , but what can you do ? ? Buy them on Amazon for $28 more dollars ! ! !

Ordered this on a Sunday , got it on a Thursday , and that was a day later thanks to new delivery driver on my route .
This saw far exceeds anything most home improvement projects will require around the house ! And for the price ( I got it for $99 w / free shipping ) , you aren't going to find better quality out there . The Dewalt may be a little better saw , but it's twice the price .
One last thing , if you buy this saw by the end of this month , you also get a free 5 Orbital Sander as your Mail-In Rebate . Again , the sander isn't the best out there , but for free , I'll take a sander that runs for $54 .
Quite pleased with this tranaction all the way around .

Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw ( Tools & Hardware )
I received this saw as an early Christmas gift . Although I have not had a chance to use it , I found that it assembled easily with just a few pieces needing to be installed . It is a heavy duty saw and and fairly quiet during test operation . The mitre and bevel adjustments are easily made with simple lever and knob movements . It was purchased at Amazon during a special markdown period for $99 . , so with the free shipping , it was a bargain . I am looking forward to the winter project replacing the trim in the house with this saw .
035 4 I did not buy this saw for its intended purpose . I was putting in pavings stones that were 2.5 inch thick and could not cut it with my 7 1 / 4 inch circular saw due to its thickness . With a diamond blade I was able to cut the stones to the correct length and angle . Since I wanted to extend the life of the blade I use a spray bottle and spray water into the cut as it cut through the stone . The aluminum base is now tarnish but everything is still working . I also spray all metal surfaces and rotating joints with WD40 to keep it from rusting . The saw has plenty of power to cut through the stones . I figure this was cheaper then renting a stone cutting saw since after I finished the job I still had a saw I can use in the future .
030 4 This is my first Miter Saw , and I love it . Works great , has plenty of power and the 10 - in blade gives it enough flexibility for larger stock . Blade never slows down and just powers through the wood . It is so easy to adjust the angles . What a great price Amazon offers , plus free shipping . I would have liked to have seen a finer toothed blade / more teeth , but oh well . I guess for most projects the blade is good , but I use it for detail work . Comes with the clamp which is nice , and compound feature will come in handy .
041 4 Everything about this saw has been wonderful . I recieved it much faster than expected , and it is exactly what a 10 compound mitre saw should be . I have used this saw for a couple of projects since purchase , the cut quality is outstanding , although the dust collector leaves something to be desired . Overall this saw has been great .
129 4 Works great ! - heavy , but seems quality built . . . I only wish I'd have had it sooner .
052 4 I have had this saw for a month or two now . Used it three days a week since then . It only works OK . It is nothing special . The biggest pain in the butt is the fence . It is bolted down onto the saw but the bolts somehow work themselves loose every now and then and the fence goes out of whack . This thing would be perfect for the homeowner who has to cut wood once a year , but if you plan on using it for a major renovation or for your job , pay the extra hundred bucks and get something more decent . Or maybe straighten out the fence and then put loctite on the bolts and tighten it down good before you even start using the thing .
076 4 Great quality product , cut very smooth . Stock blade is OK , could use a better blade , but stock blade performs adequately . For the price ( $99 from Amazon ) , can't beat it . . . . Highly recommend it for normal job
080 4 Great price for a great tool . The price point was the difference between me getting a miter saw and not . It is limiting for the size of cuts but has worked out OK for me so far . The 10 v's 12 , sliding v's not debate will go on but for cost , size and ease of use this was perfect for me .
Add to that free shipping and the deal was unbeatable . Local stores could not come close to the price / quality so I was happy to purchase from Amazon .
103 4 I made an informed decision when I purchased this product and knew what to expect . This saw is a great value at the $99 I purchased it for . It's rugged and chugged trough everything I asked of it while building my new deck . I really couldn't have asked for better considering what I paid for it . It surpassed my expectations . Shipping was great with no problems .
127 4 I received this saw as an early Christmas gift . Although I have not had a chance to use it , I found that it assembled easily with just a few pieces needing to be installed . 060 4 Got this 10 - inch miter to replace a fire-damaged B & D . Came packaged just fine . Nothing broken , brand new out of the box . Does all that I want it to as a homeowner and for its portability , as for larger jobs , I have a 12 Rigid in the garage . Had it less than a week , so have used it sparingly . Could use a finer toothed blade , but that's a nit .
105 4 Does everything expected and at the level of an inexpensive saw . However , one of the mounting bracket legs broke in transit . Not a big deal as I wasn't planning on mounting it , but causes a concern about how long term durable it will be
137 4 Unable to cut crown molding over 5 unless you lay the face flat . Will not work with a Bench Dog Jig and molding over 4
089 4 This is a great basic Compound mitter Saw for the price . It's really good for your basic needs . Can't complain .

113 4 This is a high quality saw for very little money . Under $100 on sale . Then they throw in a free random orbit sander worth over $50 , wow . Has a nice flip away sub-fence . Throw in a 5 year commercial use warranty and this is an unbelievable value . Only complain : the mounting holes are in a trapezoidal pattern which makes it trickier to mount on many stands , but all you need is and adapter board . This saw blows the others out of the water .
125 4 I have spent most of the day using this saw to cut studs . From my experience , the manual is very confusing to understand . it seems to be written in proper english but I don't know how to explain it it's just really confusing . I went to lowes intending to ask a salesguy to help me use it but I actually figured it out using their display model . aside from that its actual usage was fairly pleasant . first time using a miter saw and I looked at some youtube video on safety , just make sure you cut evenly and let the blade stop before you pull it up . I'm not sure what happened but the screw that holds the clamp to the base would not screw on all the way after I too it off to switch it to the other side . maybe sawdust got into it but i tried blowing it out and it still was stuck . maybe sap got into it , anyways minor problem but it did happen . the included 24 teeth blade is acceptable for ripping studs . this was my first time and on a sidenote , a stud or 2x4 is not actually 2 inches by 4 inches like I thought it would be . newbie mistake . maybe stud and 2x4 are 2 different things . if you cut at an even smooth stroke then slow down at the edge of the cut it seemed to minimize the small splintering of the wood . I plan on buying a freud blade to get cleaner cuts on molding . as someone mentioned it had a soft start . for some reason maybe he said this but I expected a softer start . it is a good feature but it does seem sudden at times . this is not really a negetive , just a thought so you don't have unrealistic expectations of what soft start means . I did not check to see if the bag colected dust like others have warned , but I did notice the sawdust gets blown away so the saw does not get plugged up with dust . overall good experience and I would recommend this . I opted not to get the one with the laser but now I'm debating whether or not I should have gotten that one . this saw had better reviews so I got it based on that . one little tip I did learn is that to get accurate cuts , lower the blade to the wood next to your pencil mark . MAKE SURE you keep your damn finger off the trigger and use your finger to rotate the blake so one of the teeth line up nect to the mark . spin the blade on the smooth part not the blade in case you are dumb enough to accidentally pull the trigger and rip off a part of your finger . I can eyeball the cut pretty accuratly that way , probably better than a laser but a laser is still something that sounds cool to have . anyways just my 2 cents from what I got from the first days use .
001 4 I bought this same saw about a year ago at Lowes , I paid something like $150 for it . It's a great saw , really smooth and comfortable to use . Works great for cutting trim boards , but I've also used it as a chop saw to cut 2x6 ' s , it doesn't bog down one bit when cutting larger stock . It's a little heavy , but to me that just means it's built better . It's also quiet compared to other miter saws I've used . This is definitely a great deal ! I'm almost tempted to buy a second as a backup !

Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw ( Tools & Hardware )
This saw was bought as a replacement for a contractor grade Craftsman compound miter saw and boy . . . I should have upgraded sooner !
The Craftsman saw weighs in at 55 lbs which makes it a pain to move and setup , however with this Hitachi weighing in at half the weight ( just 26 lbs ) not only makes it easier to move and setup it feels as well constructed as the Craftsman , if not better constructed . Also the built in carrying handle on top of this saw means no more having to carry it awkwardly or smashing my fingers !
The motor is nice and powerful and can easily cut through pressure treated 4x4 posts , 2x4s , you name it it cuts through it with ease . And the saw itself adjusts to pretty much any angle and beveling degree you can possibly need . The large fence allows you to cut some of the largest pieces of wood ( like crown molding , window trim , etc . ) without having to figure out a weird and dangerous way to hold the piece of wood while you make the cut . I can't remember how many times I've had to hold a piece awkwardly while making a cut because the fence is too short .
The added vise assembly is a HUGE plus , something that some of the more expensive saws don't even include .
Now you're thinking why did I give it only 4 stars ? The dust bag only does a mediocre job at collecting dust and it's made in China . . . thats right a Japanese company making stuff in China . I really would have preferred to see it made in Japan or the US . It is covered by a five year warranty and made to the high standards of Hitachi . . . so it is a trade off .
Overall I would highly recommend this saw to anyone .
Pros :
Powerful .
Light-weight but very well constructed .
Fairly quiet , even for a miter saw .
Built in handle on the top of the unit makes transportation and setup much easier .
Comfortable handle .
Cons :
Made in China .
Dust bag doesn't collect a whole lot of dust . . . better then nothing though .
008 4 Picked this up for 99 bucks ( price fluctuates often so just throw it into your shopping cart and wait for that deal to come up ) . Bought an Irwin laser guide for about 20 bucks and I'm ready for my job . This one is made in China ( not Japan ) but my expectations are for the occasional homeowner use , not for contractor duty and I am very pleased . Sure beats the plastic Ryobis sold at HD for the same price . Cheap Craftsman miter with the wrongly aligned stick on angle guage ( are you kidding me ) don't compare too . Best comparison is the entry level Dewalt but that one comes in at at 200 so this is half price for about the same performance . Great for cutting 2x4 and wood laminate panels ( though you have to flip the board for the final cut ) without motor bogging down . That's where the laser guide helps with perfect cuts . 40 tooth blade trims true , great for being free . My 80 tooth laminate blade is almost the cost of the saw . Yes . . the dust bag is pretty much useless , it catches just the ultrafine particles , all the rest of the debris is around you .

Bought this saw from Amazon for light duty use on projects around the house . Easily handled treated 4x4 ' s and 2x6 ' s . This is a great value for a saw for the occasional home user . I am not sure how it would hold up under more rigorous use .

Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw ( Tools & Hardware )
I've just recently delved into the hobby of carpentry , and this saw was on sale . At the price it was , I couldn't pass that up since I had been watching it for a while . I needed a fairly foolproof saw as my first one , because I figure an up and down motion makes it less likely I'll sever a limb !
The instructions were a bit odd , when it comes to putting some of the accessory pieces together . After struggling through it for a while , I finally figured it all out and then let the saw sit in the dining room for about a month . It was a busy month , to say the least .
So , this last weekend I was finally able to take my old , new toy to the shed and check it out . The little screw-clamp that it comes with is kind of small and sort of in the way . I didn't find it helpful at all and ended up using my own clamps to keep the wood in place . For what I was doing ( cutting 2x4s for a workbench ) it did great .
For the price , you can't beat it . Especially if you catch it on sale - - which it seems to go on quite often .
134 4 I bought this saw at Lowe's on sale to replace a very old Black & Decker power miter saw that was miter only , no bevel . When I took the Hitachi out of the box , it was very nice looking and I had no complaints about how it was packaged , certainly there was no damage . I did notice as I was doing the very minor assembly required that the maximum width it would cut was about 1 less than with the old B & D saw . I presume that must be due to the placement of the fence farther forward , because they are both 10 saws . The saw was placed far to one side , and tilted over at about a 25 degree bevel to fit it into a fairly small box ( nice job of engineering ) . Unfortunately , the screw that controlled the bevel was jammed . I took off the plastic handle because it was obvious that if I turned on that hard enough to loosen the bevel screw it would break . I then put a 10 crescent wrench on the screw and tried to back it out . No luck - could only turn it 1 / 4 turn . So I got a 20 long socket wrench breaker bar and tried - still nothing . That saw was jammed at the 25 - degree bevel . I can only guess that the threads were damaged on the screw or the hole it was in , because nothing was going to loosen it without causing some piece of the all-aluminum saw frame to break . So I returned the saw . I made a nice try to get a new saw for not much money , but I think I'm going to blow the big bucks on a DeWalt sliding compound miter saw , because I also have a radial arm saw that is about to wear out after 35 years of use in my Dad's and my shop .
015 4 Bought this on Amazon for a simple apartment baseboard project . It did a fine job of cutting 90 / 45 - degree angles . This is my first saw , and at the price I paid , it is cheaper to own than to rent a miter saw from a place like Home Depot . I am definitely not as skilled with wood-working as others out there but I had no trouble working with this saw . I didn't even use all the attachments that it came with . At some point , I will read the instruction booklet and figure out how to use those . There are a some notable drawbacks of this model , however . First , the dust bag is pretty much useless . During my several hours of cutting , the bag collected almost nothing . Second , there is no laser guide , so there is some guesswork involved at least initially . I don't understand why a tool-maker like Hitachi can't put an imprint by the cutting edge which clearly indicates exactly where the saw will make the cut . I also noted that tiny slivers of the plastic piece ( which is part of the saw ) upon which you place the wood got sliced off during cutting . Thought that was odd since this indicates some kind of misalignment in the cutting assembly . Luckily , this does not interfere with cutting accuracy . All in all , this is an okay tool and I look forward to using it in future projects . For those advanced folks out there , be careful since this saw may not be your first choice .
028 4 I was replacing my at least 10 year old Hitachi C10 with the newer model . So far I love it . For the last couple of years I have cut aluminum on my old C10 almost exclusively ( Aluminum thresholds and door frames ) . My old saw still works , but after years of abuse the bearing that locks the mitre table into the set angles fell out . The only thing I had done to the saw was to replace the table insert and the chip deflector . No oil , brushes or anything else . If this new saw is half as good I will consider myself way ahead of the game .
082 4 So far everything that I was told has been true and at this time don't have any compliants . However I haven't been able to use it very much yet .
088 4 The Hitachi CF10FCE2 is very well made . With an Irwin laser guide attached , it cuts easily and precisely . This is one of the best values from Amazon . The only improvement I would suggest is better manuals . Maybe its me , but I would like more steps illustrated . The product itself is excellent .
102 4 I am extremely pleased with this saw . . I bought it to do trim work for the new windows I put in my house . . . . . to do this though I bought a Hitachi 72 tooth blade and what a smooth excellent cut it made ! Very accurate . The dust catcher isn't the greatest . . . but I didn't expect it would be . I was missing the wrench when it arrived . . . but I called Hitachi and they had one to me in just a few days . Best yet , there was a rebate for a Hitachi sander too . . . free shipping . . in all I got it all for under a $100 . . . . wow what a deal ! I highly recommend this saw , you won't be disappointed ! ! mjstroh . . . US Army Retired
121 4 I was looking for a miter saw and expected to pay alot more than this product sold for . A plus was that it was a compound miter saw . I read the previous reviews on a couple of models that I was interested in and this , by far had the best reviews . I received the item in two days with free shipping threw Amazon . I have not had a chance to use it yet , but I am very impressed with the quality and the easy of use . I have extensive knowledge in woodworking , ( was a journeyman wood patternmaker for 30 years ) . I will admit the instruction for assembly could have been printed a little larger with a little more detail , but other that that I am pleased with the product
140 4 Upon delivery , and set up of my saw , I became extremely disappointed . The positive stops of the saw i.e . 45 and 90 degrees had excessive play when locked into possition.Further more the laser marker was not true in the 45 - degree position . I returned the saw for replacement .
142 4 Living a bit further away than most customers I was very disappointed to unpack the tool and found the left front leg broken . Some person between the US and Barbados must have dropped the box , resulting in a big crack in the cast aluminum base . Return shipping is unfortunately not an option from where I live so I'm working on a solution to still get some use out of it . If I get some use out of it I'll try to be objective and update the review .
058 4 Saw arrived in excellent condition , very fast . I'm an occasional user of this saw , and it works great . I plan to add a Freud blade to it and expect even better results .
122 4 Great saw for the money . Perfect for the home remodeler or contractor . This is an amazing saw for the money . If you are buying to outfit your own workshop or to please the weekend remodeler this saw will be a perfect tool to have on hand . Very high quality for the price .
124 4 Decided to buy this after reading tons of reviews . Am satisfied with the saw and glad I bought it . I don't think you can get a better saw at the price . Why not 5 stars ? The directions are not very clear . If I can get it put together , anyone can . But it takes some patence . The other thing it really needs is a laser . Granted , for this price I didn't really expect one but ended up buying an add on after using for awhile .

I also have the table saw version of this type of saw , the job site saw . Both are from Hitachi , and both are light duty saws . They are light weight and easy to lug around . They both have enough power to do most tasks that you will encounter at a job site and enough accuracy too . I added the laser cutting guide from Rockler , selling for $12.50 . It is a useful improvement and you can't beat the price .
What makes these saws great is the weight . My DeWalt Heavy-Duty 12 - Inch Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw takes two people to carry comfortably , and requires a good dedicated stand to hold it . By way of contrast , this saw weighs about fifteen pounds and can operate comfortably on an upturned trash can .
This is an excellent saw for the price . You can expect it to do 90% of what you buy a miter saw for , and do it well . Don't get me wrong , these are not the level of tool that one would choose to call furniture grade though .

Everything about this saw has been wonderful . I recieved it much faster than expected , and it is exactly what a 10 compound mitre saw should be . I have used this saw for a couple of projects since purchase , the cut quality is outstanding , although the dust collector leaves something to be desired . Overall this saw has been great .

Its a nice saw , but you should be aware of a few things .
This model does not have a laser guide that shows where the saw will cut the wood . It isn't an essential feature but the laser is much more convenient . Pay a little more and get the model C10FCH2 which does have the laser .
You will need to buy or make a stand for the saw . I paid as much for the stand as I did for the saw .
My stand has brackets that get bolted to the base of the saw , and then they clamp to the stand . This allows me to remove the saw and easily transport the whole arrangement . The mounting holes in the saw base are not quite parallel and therefore the clamps don't fit onto the stand . I'll have to get a piece of plywood to bolt the saw onto and then bolt the clamps to the plywood .

I have had this saw for a month or two now .

I bought the Hitachi C10FCE2 saw to replace my MasterCraft one which was broken in the middle of my renovation project . After doing some researches and comparison , I found the Hitachi has the best performance / value compare to Makita and BOSCH . Those comparisons proved to be correct because it does a great job cutting through different thickness of woods and building materials . I love it ! High recommended !

Got this 10 - inch miter to replace a fire-damaged B & D .

I have used the Hitachi C10FCE2 saw for a few weeks now and it is working well , the only problem is it only catcher about half the saw dust in the bag . I should not complain as my old saw had no bag at all . The saw was dead on 90 degree and 45 degree cuts and the same for the compound , 45 was right on . Overall I am pleased with the fit and finish cuts , as it came out of the box .

I love this saw - sometimes you just don't need the added weight and capacity of a 12 and / or slider .

Great price for a great tool .

I've been a huge Dewalt supporter until I bought this saw . Nothing bad to say about it . Preforms every bit as good as my previous Dewalt saw , if not better . I'm glad I stepped out of the box . I would recommend this saw to anyone .

The Hitachi CF10FCE2 is very well made . With an Irwin laser guide attached , it cuts easily and precisely . This is one of the best values from Amazon . The only improvement I would suggest is better manuals . Maybe its me , but I would like more steps illustrated . The product itself is excellent .

I use a miter saw for home improvement projects , both cutting T & G flooring ( the .5 inch type ) and baseboard / doorframe trim .
The Hitachi replaces a lower end Delta that I purchased for about the same price a couple of years ago .
I couldn't be more pleased , the Hitachi is a fine piece of equipment . Oh , I'm sure that for more money there are better products but the quality of the Hitachi for the price makes it the best I was able to find .

Decided to buy this after reading tons of reviews .

I returned the first one because the bevel adjustment was so tight that I couldn't loosen . Directions are weak too , trying to tell me the wrong way to turn to loosen the bevel . Got the replacement and it works great ! Returning a saw to Amazon is a bit of pain because of the wait time , but you get a full refund on shipping and they pick it up at your door .

Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw ( Tools & Hardware )
I bought this Hitachi miter saw when it was a Deal of the Day item not too long ago . The price was $99 , and there was a $20 cash rebate , so this was a great deal ( albeit , I haven't even submitted my rebate yet ) .
Don't rush out to buy saw . Watch the price , it moves up and down pretty frequently . I've seen the price move from $99 ( not deal of the day ) up to $139 , so , a little patience goes a long way .
If you can get a good price on this saw , its a better deal to get an Irwin Laser Guide attachment then the Hitachi C10FCH2 ( same saw , but w / built in laser guide ) .
Anyways , back to the saw .
Pros :
- Its got a great motor with plenty of power to spare .
- Comes practically fully installed , nothing to mess with
- Includes a Ferrite core on the power cord to condition the power for more constant , stable current
- Comfortable handle and easy pull down motion
- Smooth adjustment for bevel and miter cuts
- Pretty good blade ( at least while it is still moderately new )
- Not too loud
Cons : ( All due to this being an entry level miter saw )
- No electric brake . . . it takes the blade a little while to come to a stop
- Does not include extension arms / wings for stabilizing longer pieces of wood
Neutral :
- Dust collection bag catches some debris , but most of it ends up on the floor surrounding the saw
- Dust collection port can sometimes clog with shavings , depending on what kind of wood you are cutting
Overall , I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this miter saw .

Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw ( Tools & Hardware )
I bought this saw before I started replacing the hardwood floors in myhouse . From the price , I assumed it would be a throwaway when the job was completed .
Not so ! This is a GREAT saw , and it takes anything I throw at it . A definite keeper . I especially like the blade guard ; when chopping repetitive pieces it makes me feel a lot more comfortable than my old saw did .
Two cons :
1 ) The blade it comes with is a coarse cutting 40 - tooth job . I used it for a decking job and it was still very coarse .
2 ) It doesn't have a laser guide , and for the price difference , I should have got one . But I retro-fitted an inexpensive arbor-mounted laser and now this saw is perfect !

Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw ( Tools & Hardware )
I purchased this miter saw to replace its predecessor , Hitachi model C10FC2 , which experienced a terminal encounter with my garage floor . . .
First Impressions :
This model is both smaller and lighter than I was expecting . Hitachi has apparently redesigned this product to minimize shipping costs from China . The bed of this saw is about 3 inches shorter than the C10FC2 . It is also noticeably lighter . With these modifications , the saw can be packaged in a smaller ( and flimsier ) box . The saw pivots smoothly and has solid stops at common angles . The D style handle offers good control and is an improvement on the earlier pistol grip . I also like the fact that they have enlarged the throat of the dust collection bag ; not nearly as much blockage . Finally , the Hitachi 5 year warranty makes this a reassuring choice .
The first thing I did after unpacking the saw was to align the fence ( s ) and blade . Next I upgraded the saw with a quality 80 tooth blade and an
Irwin Miter Saw Laser Guide
. Finally , I bolted the saw down to a larger plywood base to minimize tipping .
This saw delivers good basic accuracy at a reasonable price . As noted , the bed is kind of short . I suspect that commercial users will want to add extensions or build a cutting bed to handle longer pieces . The manufacturers have added a flip fence feature to the left fence to address some of these issues . Folded up , it provides support for taller material . Unfolded it pivots out horizontally and provides backing for longer materials . I was a little skeptical of the pivot , but it seems to work as intended . The only drawback is that you can't make bevel cuts with the flip fence retracted .
One disappointment is the redesigned material clamp / vise . They've downgraded this feature by using lighter materials and resizing the hand knob to the size of a small dial . The screw down clamp is mounted on a post which slides into a receiving vertical hole in the left or right fence . A second hole is lined up in the bed of the saw . So why couldn't they make these items the same size ? The post slops around in the fence hole , but doesn't even fit into the receiving hole in the bed . If I used this feature more I'd be more concerned . It works , but its not pretty .
Overall , I am happy with the saw . Cuts were very accurate and repeatable . A reasonable tool for the hobbyist or home shop . Commercial users will probably need to make some of the noted upgrades . Too early to address durablility issues . I doubt this will be as robust as the earlier saw , but it will probably hold up if not abused ( or dropped ) .

020 4 I purchased this saw just over 6 months ago and have been very pleased with it . It does exactly what I need for it to do at a very reasonable price . It arrived undamaged and with all it's components . I also purchased the Irwin Industrial Tools 3061001 Miter Saw Laser Guide along with the saw . I admit however , that I used the saw for 5 months before installing the guide . The blade is easy to access and the guide installed and worked perfectly . It projects a very fine , bright line on the left edge of the cut . It installed in place of the factory washer using the factory bolt . With the blade that shipped with the saw , the left edge of the cut is exactly on the line projected by the laser . So you have only the kerf of the blade being taken out to the right . I would purchase both items again .

Needed a chop saw and as always , the 1st place I go to is Amazon . Oh ya , the saw is fantastic ! jeff

I bought this saw from Amazon 15 months ago and I've used it frequently since . I've made about 80 cuts of treated 4x4 , 100 ' s of cuts of 2x10 and 2x12 ( cutting half way through and then flipping the board over to finish the cut ) , and hundreds of 2x4 ' s . I've even cut a few pieces of cured oak firewood when my first blade got tired . As long as you use the right cutting speed , this engine will power through anything . The built in clamp is useful and the saw is heavy enough to not tilt over after the cut . The guides and pivots are all intuitive . It's such a great tool , I use it even when I should probably pull out the circular .
Some minor issues : the sawdust bag is welcome , but it only catches half . It's to be expected but maybe down the road when I buy the next one , they'll have improved this . If I'd known I was going to cut such large dimensional lumber , I would have been seriously tempted to get the sliding compound miter , but it cost 4x as much and this one , surprisingly , does alright when used right .
Two thumbs up Hitachi !
064 4 Fantastic , worked right out of the box . Had to adjust fence , but that is to be expected .

It works perfect . I'm very pleased .

101 4 We were up and running with the Hitachi 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw in a few minutes . The notches at the common angles are a nice touch . We may have to make some adjustements to get the angles right on but , so far , they've been close enough for the work we're doing .
Cuts clean and crisp - excellent value for the price .
136 4 The saw is great and very portable . It arrived fast and is easy to use but the down side of the unit is that saw does not have a lazer guide and looking around at other units in this price range some do come with the lazer .

I was replacing my at least 10 year old Hitachi C10 with the newer model .

This is a high quality saw for very little money .

Upon delivery , and set up of my saw , I became extremely disappointed . The positive stops of the saw i.e . 45 and 90 degrees had excessive play when locked into possition.Further more the laser marker was not true in the 45 - degree position . I returned the saw for replacement .
Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw ( Tools & Hardware )
This is my first time to use a compound miter saw so I cannot compare use to other saws . It has worked out well for me , however . My projects are easier and come out nicer using this saw ( I suppose that would be true of any power miter saw ) .
Cons : The clamping mechanism which works but is not easy enough to switch from the left to the right side . The wing nuts screw hard and are a bit time consuming - a big plus would be a saw with quick lock / unlock on both sides . I have been using my own clamps on the right side to avoid changing the position of the single clamp provided . The plate at the bottom where the saw blade passes through the plane of the table was not attached correctly out of the box ( see the green plastic piece in the center of the saw table surface ) . Before using the saw I could see that the blade would hit this piece when the saw was in 45 degree bevel ( or near 45 degrees ) . I have to guess that it would have ripped this plastic to pieces if the saw blade had hit it ( maybe it would have cut it cleanly ? ? ) . I loosened the plate and pushed it hard to the right and tightened it again so that the saw blade would just clear it without hitting . The manual should specify that this plate be checked before first use unless I was just over-cautious and the saw would just shave the plate off cleanly ( doesn't seem like it would and it would have definitely hit ! ) .
Pros : The adjustments are easy and the cuts are perfect . It is easy to move around . Locking trigger handy to protect my kids from using this without my help ( own small padlock needed ) .
5 - stars rating despite my cons listed because I simply like the tool and the quality and service compared to the price paid are excellent having only paid a hundred . Even had I paid a bit more I would not be disappointed at all . I was about to pay 25 more for this at a big box store and I am sure I would have been happy with it but thanks to Amazon I keep the extra money this time .

Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw ( Tools & Hardware )
The saw works well and is good for the price . The cast body base isn't very thick and the first saw arrived broken , cracked and bent near the hole in the corner where the saw gets bolted to a workbench . This may be because it ships in a small factory box that then gets put inside another huge generic brown cardboard box for shipping with plenty of room to bang around inside . One or two small pieces of brown packing paper are loosely put around the factory box but there's tons of sloppy room between the boxes and the corners of the factory box arrived crushed both times . This kept me waiting on a project for a few days and that pissed me off . Amazon shipped me a new one for free and sent UPS to pick up the broken one . Time is money though , and this poor secondary packaging wasted my time . Luckily the 2nd saw was intact and immediately put to use .
The instructions aren't very good , I would have appreciated knowing that the compound angle tightening thread on the handle that locks the angle once you set it is a reverse thread .
Other than the poor shipping and mediocre instructions the saw itself works great , I am doing door and window casings and baseboard trim with it .

The manual should specify that this plate be checked before first use unless I was just over-cautious and the saw would just shave the plate off cleanly ( doesn't seem like it would and it would have definitely hit ! ) .

070 4 This saw makes quick work of any household project , i already started using it to finish my basement and it has made the job move much faster than it was going and the tilt feature is great for cutting in corners .
141 4 Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch compound miter saw
The saw work great but the product description include's a LASER GUIDE SYSTEM . This miter saw doesn't have this system . This was one of the reason I bought it . BUT to my surpise , no LASER ! This was a reconditioned sale . Compare model description before purchase .
002 4 I received this saw as a Christmas present in 2007 . I've used it nearly every other weekend since , and the only complaint I have is with the manual . This was my first miter saw so I wanted to be sure that it was put together correctly , but the instructions were nearly incomprehensible . But , since I'm a guy and am used to not reading directions ( j / k ) I figured it out eventually .
This saw is very powerful relative to other models in this price range . I had looked at the Dewalt saws , but didn't really think the quality of construction was the same since Black & Decker bought them out a few years back . I've used this to cut 4x4 treated posts and it slices through them like a hot knife through butter , with no motor lag at all . The sawdust catch-bag is a nice feature , but doesn't catch it all . I wasn't expecting it to , and having ANY of it get caught is a plus , and simply less clean up for me once the project is finished .
After receiving this saw , I did some research and found out that all Hitachi power tools have a 5 year limited warrantee . I've blown through 3 drills - 1 Skil , 2 Black & Deckers ( guess I didn't learn ) - on my trip to the Hitachi brand , and will never buy anything but Hitachi tools from here on out . I would recommend this tool to anyone that is looking for a professional quality tool at a decent price .
003 4 Received the Hitachi C10FCE2 yesterday after a longer wait than usual from Amazon . But still within the window they specify .
Assembled the saw accessories in about 5 minutes ( flip over fence , rear stabilizer bar , and hold down ) and took it out to my shop . First up was a standard pine 2x4 . Plugged in the saw and gave the trigger a pull . The first thing I noticed as a nice soft start mechanism , very nice . The blade started spinning and had little to no vibration . I love the horizontal anti vibe handle . Pulled the saw down and cut through the 2x4 like a hot knife through butter . I was impressed at this price point . Next up were some miter cuts . 52 degrees left and right , no problem . The indicator is very thin which makes for more exacting measurements , again very nice . Next up , bevel . Went to 45 degrees , gave the handle a tug and i had a clean 45 degree bevel . Checked the angles and they were spot on , right from the factory . I cut 2x6 ' s , stacked 2 2x4 ' s , and stacked 2 2x6 ' s and it cut them without any problems or bogging down . This saw will cut 4x4 posts no problem at 90 degrees .
With the 5 year warrantee and a saw that performs like this you can't go wrong at $99.00 with free shipping .
005 4 I purchased this miter saw to replace its predecessor , Hitachi model C10FC2 , which experienced a terminal encounter with my garage floor . . .
First Impressions :

007 4 This saw was bought as a replacement for a contractor grade Craftsman compound miter saw and boy . .
010 4 This was my first miter / chop saw and I looked around alot before buying it . I compared Dewalt 723 , Craftsman and couple of other models from home depot .
Dewalt was twice as expensive ( $209 ) and Craftsmans from Sears was pretty darn cheap and althoug you could buy a sliding compound miter for less that $200 , the quality wasn't good . There were many complaints about cheap plastic parts and even cheaper angle / cut quality . Other Ryobi and Makita were similar to Hitachi and Dewalt , but werent ' that popular and couldn't find many reviews .
After all this analysis and talking to couple of contractors , they suggested that Hitachi is equally good and I ended up ordering one from amazon .
I arrived in 2 days ( with free shipping ) and since the blades are new you could you use it to cut moulding right out of the box . But may be when you cut 2x4s for few months , you might need a newer blade with more teeths . The construction of the saw itself is strong and it comes with few accessories .
Dust bag isn't very useful as it captures only part of the dust , but that's true with all other brands as well . I haven't tried mounting it on a stand , but have heard people complain about incompatibility with Dewalt miter stand .
Used it couple of time for miter and compound miter , and all the angles were perfect with fine cuts .
I highly recommed this saw .
BTW , its cheap @ $125 , but the price here fluctuates alot and I was able to get it for $99 + taxes + free shipping .
013 4 I used this saw to install a very hard stranded bamboo floor ( over 3000 on the janka scale ) , and when cutting the bamboo , the saw only bogged down slightly . . everything else I've cut with it is no problem at all ! Hold out for 99 $ price , and with free shipping , it pays for itself in no time .
Not sure why the description STILL says this unit has a laser . . it doesn't .
Packing is a bit lacking , though my saw arrived in good shape .
019 4 I bought this saw before I started replacing the hardwood floors in myhouse .
021 4 After looking at the typical Home Depot and Lowes brands along with their respective prices , I stumbled upon the Hitachi ; a brand that I would not have previously considered for a tool of this nature . I found the deal through [ . . . ] and began reading reviews . For the price ( [ . . . ] after MIR ) , I figured I couldn't go wrong and luckily , I have been very satisfied with my purchase . I have already used the saw to build a cedar potting bench and plan on doing some crown molding around the house .
The good :
The saw arrived perfectly calibrated . I didn't need to change a thing .
The blade that it comes with is quite sufficient for many tasks , but for crown molding , I highly recommend purchasing an 80 - tooth carbide blade .
I love the fact that it locks in the down position and has a convenient carry handle . It's also light-weight and compact .
The fence extension and clamp are very helpful .
The slide out stabilization bar is a nice feature to prevent the saw from tipping over .
The not so good :
I agree with the reviews in that the instruction manual is quite poor and I cannot comment on customer service , as I had no need to call .
I would have liked a metal plate on the platform surrounding where the blade comes down . . . the plastic is cheap and flimsy .
At full tilt , the saw would destroy the cheap plastic mentioned in the line above , as the gap is not wide enough to support the maximum angle .
The dustbag is a nice feature , but while I agree that it's not extremely efficient , I don't think it's as bad as many reviewers said . I still get a considerable amount in the bag .
Sawdust seems to get into the most unreachable places on this saw , which are all covered in a light coat of oil from the factory .
Other thoughts :
I originally wanted a 12 blade , but either that or a sliding version of the 10 would have definitely helped out in a few places .
The laser attachment would have also been a nice add-on for this model .
All in all , this is probably the best bang for the buck if you plan on light use . If you're a seasoned woodworker or contractor , you probably want to spend a bit more money and get a few more bells and whistles .
023 4 I bought this Hitachi miter saw when it was a Deal of the Day item not too long ago .
037 4 I bought this saw from Amazon 15 months ago and I've used it frequently since .
044 4 This is my first time to use a compound miter saw so I cannot compare use to other saws .
046 4 When I saw the sale offer on this miter saw for $99 , I said to my self WOW What deal
But after purchasing it and pricing them around I realized it was just an OK deal .
A Good value for the price , in comparison to other miter saws , not a lot of special features for the money other than the fact that is a Hitachi .
Great warranty from Hitachi .
Nothing cosmetically that I can see , that would make it stand out from any other compatable miter saw .
BRIGHT GREEN
As far as operation , the machine does what is supposed to do , CUT MITERS fairly easy to carry and I do like the operating handle . it would be nice if came with the laser light .
050 4 Its a nice saw , but you should be aware of a few things .
078 4 This is the first compound miter saw I've owned .
It works perfect . I'm very pleased .
081 4 This review is from :
Hitachi C10FCE2 10 - Inch Compound Miter Saw ( Tools & Hardware )
So far everything that I was told has been true and at this time don't have any compliants . However I haven't been able to use it very much yet .
093 4 I use a miter saw for home improvement projects , both cutting T & G flooring ( the .5 inch type ) and baseboard / doorframe trim .
095 4 This is a good saw at a good price .
100 4 I've just recently delved into the hobby of carpentry , and this saw was on sale .
107 4 This is an amazing compound miter saw . . my friend is a contractor and has sworn by Ryobi saws for a long time . When he saw this and used it a few times he ordered one for himself !
Really powerful saw , arrived in excellent condition - all I had to do was plug it in and make a couple minor adjustments ( attaching miter angle lever and a support bracket ) and it was ready to go .
Great price at $99 and have a free Hitachi sander on the way .
Thanks Amazon !
110 4 Bought this saw for $99 with free shipping . It is a great saw that cuts nice and true . I've used it now for a few weeks cutting trim and I do love the ease of use , quality of the cut and overall quality of the machine .
This was my first Hitachi power tool , a friend recommended me to Hitachi , and for $100 , I figured it was worth a try . Well , the quality and 5 yr warranty was well worth it . I would recommend it for any DIY person or for basic word working . I am not a contractor so I couldn't give you a recommendation on that aspect .
If you're looking for a quality low cost miter saw with a great warranty , find this saw at around $100 . I would definitely buy Hitachi again and recommend this saw to anyone .
111 4 I purchased this saw when it was the deal of the day for $99 plus free shipping through my prime account . After purchasing I found out that Hitachi was running a promotion . If you purchased this saw , you could receive a free random orbital sander of theirs . I usually don't put much faith in rebates , since almost any I've attempted to submit I never receive . But my Hitachi orbital sander was just delivered , so I was compelled to post a positive review on this Hitachi product ! My love for Hitachi products just got stronger , got to love a company that follows through on their promotions . I also bought a Hitachi 72 tooth blade for this saw for only $29 here on amazon and it makes great cuts . If you need a nice little saw for doing home projects like trim work , crown molding , etc . you can't beat this saw . Just upgrade the blade , as it only comes with a 24 tooth which is fine for chopping wood , but not for finishing cuts . I also own a Hitachi circular saw . The build quality on these Hitachi saws seem much better than similar saws in the same price range .
So when all is said and done : I got a great saw , with a great blade for the normal price of this saw , about $128 w / free shipping , and a free orbital sander that's probably worth around $40 . I will definitely be purchasing more Hitachi products in the future .
114 4 This was a great purchase ! Price was very good ( $99.00 ) , especially with the free shipping and 0 tax . I added an Irwin laser ( $29.00 at Lowes ) and it fits and works well . Takes a little getting used to . Saw has plenty of power . I have only used for one project so far , solid bamboo flooring installed on ceiling and walls . Cuts were accurate . I think I will install a better blade , maybe 40 tooth carbide .
This seems to be a great deal for the price .
116 4 Amazing product . Ask anybody who regularly uses this type of saw : Hitachi is one of the best . The price was perfect , and at the time of purchase there was also a great factory rebate for a free sander . I have fallen for Hitachi products ( yes , I know , they're made in China , but these days so are Bosch products ) .
The price is right , the tools powerful and accurate .
Go for it
118 4 I'm no Bob Vila by any stretch of the imagination , so I didn't need a 500 dollar miter saw . I needed a compound saw that had a fence that could accomodate a four and a half inch crown molding . I first bought a Craftsman and it didn't come close . They might as well have left the fence off . The Hitachi comes with an extension for the left fence and it was just tall enough to press the molding against it .
The saw dust catcher seems to work pretty well and I have to say that the quality of cuts , accuracy of the miter gauge , and consistency of cut was all there out of the box . This is a good little saw that any DIYer would like to have . Wait until you see it priced at $99 before you buy .
120 4 Ordered this on a Sunday , got it on a Thursday , and that was a day later thanks to new delivery driver on my route .
138 4 We return this product for having a broken part . Amazon replaced it and we do appreciate the work they have done . It came back again with a broken bolt hole that attaches to the table . The packaging of this product is very poor and does not protect the product . We did not return it after we received it for the second time we should have but no time . the miter itself is ok .
