Wii Band Hero featuring Taylor Swift - Super Bundle


  • 014 4  I've played Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour for PS3 , and now this Band Hero and Guitar Hero 5 for my Wii . Rock Band 2 is still my favorite because of the way the screen looks and stuff , but Band Hero comes in a close 2nd . All the games are fun , Guitar Hero has more metal songs than I like and Band Hero is more for the Pop fan because it has tons of songs by Taylor Swift , Hillary Duff , Jackson 5 , etc . I would say Band Hero is the best family version out of all of them just because of the song list and the menus and stuff . It is in no means just a pop video game because it has some other harder songs on there as well , just not as hard as RB2 and Guitar Hero does . That is why I like this one the best . You can also get cool items if you do really good on a song . I got a 100 percent on the Song 2 by Blur I think and I got a new drum set or something and it had 8 stars instead of 5 and it lit all up . It was cool . Overall this is a great game set , and for the price you can get the full set at , this is the best way to go . The drums have 2 cymbals and 3 drums which is awesome because the Rock Band Drums only have 4 drums no cymbals . It is also so much cheaper than those versions too , so it is common sense to get this bundle . And then buy the other games seperate because they will work with these instruments . The only bad thing about this game is that it can get addicting so you have to watch out . Good luck and take care !

The only thing I dont like is that it is a little hard to understand . It is much more difficult to get a good score , so I had to play at a lower level . However , if looking for a game to break out at a party , this would be a great choice .

It's great for karaoke get-togethers . The graphics are not impressive , and there's only a limited selection of characters . This works for families who are not die hard fanatics of rock and roll . The software is more family-friendly than Rock Band or Guitar Hero because they actually have songs that the general population will know . What I like about it most of all , is that the whole family can play , no matter how young or old and it doesn't feel like you're sitting in front of a video game .

And we LOVED making up our characters which took almost an entire evening , everyone laughing and having fun .

We only had 1 Wiimote at the time so we had to take turns playing the game and take turns with instruments . . . it wasn't long before I was back placing another order for the other needed Wiimotes . Now it's all fun , fun , fun ! ! I just wish there were more songs and more things to unlock . My son loves that he can actually bring Taylor Swift up on the screen while playing one of her songs , and I just realized that No Doubt is on there too ! Cool ! We have had not band or guitar games upon receiving this and it was hard to tell who was more excited to rip open the box when we got it home the kids or us . The set up was much easier than I expected . my 7 and 9 year old got the guitar together before I even got in the room . It took me only about 5 minutes to assemble the drums . Plugged in the mike and away we went . The only issue we had so far , and it really is only an annoyance is that you need a remote to sing with the microphone even when you are already using 2 remotes for the drums and guitar . Since the microphone plugs into the Wii console directly this seems incredibly unnecessary . Oh well a 3rd remote was purchased and away we all get to go now ! I think the ability rating is perfect to a family of all levels of ability . Having the very basic hit the beat beginner level for the instruments is a GREAT way teach your kids to first find the rhythm of the songs instead of pushing them right into learning the colored keys and pads . Same with the singing as long as you are saying something into the mike for the beginner mode you are doing it and are not going to get booed . Even my 2 1。

        2 year old took a turn on a beginner drum and singing level and loved having a real turn with the rest of us ! ! ! He made it through a whole song on the singing level ! ! My husband who has had years of guitar lesson in the past has really enjoyed pusing the levels at what he trys . ANd REally enjoyed playing around with the wammy bar and the dofferent sounds the guitar make by moving its position when you really try to play it like a rock star . I can not tell you the hours of family laughter and fun this game has brought us in just 4 days ! WAtching my 9 year old son and 7 year old daughter learn Mr Roboto , HAHAHAHA , way too much fun ! Ohh and putting Taylor Swift on here ? GENIUS ! ! ! Talk about a magnent for the kids . THere is a great mix of genres styles and age of the music on this set . We were even able to get a Grandma to sing YMCA with her son on guitar and grandson on the drums .

      • Wii Band Hero featuring Taylor Swift - Super Bundle ( Video Game ) Ordered Band hero bundle for wii after reading many reviews Wednesday December 30 , arrived the next day in the afternoon , just on time to be set up for our New's Eve's bash ! Our boys and their friends ( college age and up , and their spouses took to it on the run ! Even our friends , who arrived later , age 50 + found many songs they could do . I am not an electronic game person at all ! All these years worth of electronic games since Atari down to Guitar hero , I've never condescended to any of them until now . I guess Farmville on Facebook made me more familiar to virtual play , that I even consented to try it when they needed a drummer , or a singer so the whole band could be complete , after they changed the difficulty level to beginner . I found that participating is less intimidating because everyone's busy keeping up with their own play . We have a multi disabled daughter who is bedridden , and I thought the music , which she loves , would be more pleasant for her to hear than typical game sounds , since she lays on the couch to be with everybody . She loves it when we're all together . I suspect that we'll be playing this game all day and into the night again , as we munch on the leftover party food we've had for our New Year's party . I purchased this game bundle because I bought my husband a Beattles Rock Band game for Christmas and didn't realize it was only the game CD and that , in order to play it we needed all the instruments too ! So I came to read all the reviews on amazon.com and found out that the new Rock Band 2 set of drums was impossible to synch with the rest of the band , but that the Band Hero's set of drums are the best , quieter , and easy to synch , and that the selection of songs were more people friendly , it reaches a wider range of ages than the others , basically , everything in this bundle is compatible with the Beattles ' rock Band , and even with other musical instruments from entirely different aps . My boys were very impressed with my research and right choice ! We haven't tried ordering new songs online yet to expand our repertoire . Needless to say , we love it ! So far Band hero songs are picked 90% times more than the Beattles which they were less familiar with , that surprised me . Hopefully the developers will come up with 20s - 60s songs also , how about Elvis songs .

I set it up to make sure everything was in working order and to test out the drum set . The drums work flawlessly and are 100 times improved over the Word Tour set that sometimes never work . But , here's why I really came to write this review . I have a 6 year old daughter who heard the music playing and came out immediately as if Taylor Swift was the Pied Piper . I promptly handed her the guitar and showed her how to make a character . She went for the rocker and outfitted her in all pink of course . I set her up on the beginner level , which consists of just strumming at the right time with no color coding . She picked it up right away and thus a star was born . We worked through all of her favorites ; Hillary Duff , everything by Taylor Swift , Evanescence , a little Janet and the Jackson 5 and a few others and she was hooked . I backed her up on drums and she was hitting 90 - 95% consistently . This repackaged Guitar Hero 5 is a stroke of genius if marketed appropriately . My daughter did not want to go to sleep . She never showed any interest in previous versions of Guitar Hero and she has been around others playing it ; but this one has a hold of her like crack . I think I told her ; ok , last one , at least 10 times before I resorted to ok really this time , last one . Band Hero fits a niche that was previously unexplored ; I think any child 4 to 12 , boy or girl would enjoy this , and teenage girls will really like the look and feel of Band Hero . Basically , anyone who picks up the plastic guitar and starts tapping their foot to a recognizable song will be instantly hooked . This is a very enthusiastic thumbs up for Band Hero and a thumbs up to Taylor Swift for getting involved in this project . Rock Band 2 is still my favorite because of the way the screen looks and stuff , but Band Hero comes in a close 2nd . All the games are fun , Guitar Hero has more metal songs than I like and Band Hero is more for the Pop fan because it has tons of songs by Taylor Swift , Hillary Duff , Jackson 5 , etc . I would say Band Hero is the best family version out of all of them just because of the song list and the menus and stuff . It is in no means just a pop video game because it has some other harder songs on there as well , just not as hard as RB2 and Guitar Hero does . That is why I like this one the best . You can also get cool items if you do really good on a song . I got a 100 percent on the Song 2 by Blur I think and I got a new drum set or something and it had 8 stars instead of 5 and it lit all up . It was cool . Overall this is a great game set , and for the price you can get the full set at , this is the best way to go . The drums have 2 cymbals and 3 drums which is awesome because the Rock Band Drums only have 4 drums no cymbals . It is also so much cheaper than those versions too , so it is common sense to get this bundle . And then buy the other games seperate because they will work with these instruments . I purchased this game bundle because I bought my husband a Beattles Rock Band game for Christmas and didn't realize it was only the game CD and that , in order to play it we needed all the instruments too ! So I came to read all the reviews on amazon.com and found out that the new Rock Band 2 set of drums was impossible to synch with the rest of the band , but that the Band Hero's set of drums are the best , quieter , and easy to synch , and that the selection of songs were more people friendly , it reaches a wider range of ages than the others , basically , everything in this bundle is compatible with the Beattles ' rock Band , and even with other musical instruments from entirely different aps . My boys were very impressed with my research and right choice ! We haven't tried ordering new songs online yet to expand our repertoire . Needless to say , we love it ! So far Band hero songs are picked 90% times more than the Beattles which they were less familiar with , that surprised me . Hopefully the developers will come up with 20s - 60s songs also , how about Elvis songs .

I've hesitated to buy any of these types of game sets because they usually have a lot of offensive songs . This one has a nice mix of new and 80 ' s type music . It's so much fun . Very family friendly . Even my 6 year old can bang around on the drums on Beginner level and get some points . None of us are that great musically , but we're having a lot of fun ! ! One thing I didn't realize when I purchased is that you need a Wiimote for each instrument . We only had 1 Wiimote at the time so we had to take turns playing the game and take turns with instruments . . . it wasn't long before I was back placing another order for the other needed Wiimotes . Now it's all fun , fun , fun ! ! I just wish there were more songs and more things to unlock . My son loves that he can actually bring Taylor Swift up on the screen while playing one of her songs , and I just realized that No Doubt is on there too ! Cool ! Then there are those who love having a group of their friends over to play plastic instruments and yell at the top of their lungs for hours on end . For the most part . . . I fall into the second category . I have loved every entry in the Rock Band series , and more recently fell in love with Guitar Hero 5 . However , these games have failed me in one vital area : the soundtrack for these games is kinda niche . Oftentimes when friends or family would come over for a Guitar Hero or Rock Band party , it would turn into each of them taking turns scrolling through hundreds of alternative , progressive , or heavy metal songs until they find one or two that they know and KINDA LIKE . . . and since they don't necessarily own a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game , they aren't overly concerned about scores or anything like that . . . they just want to play music they know and love . That is where Band Hero swoops in to save the day ( or at least save my party ! ! ) Rather than focusing on niche genres of music , Band Hero does the exact opposite . . . Band Hero's soundtrack is focused on Pop music . The very definition of POP MUSIC is music that is popular . . . songs that everyone knows and loves . And I have to say , Band Hero delivers . There is some great music on Band Hero . It had AWESOME features like Party Play mode , drop-in and drop-out multiplayer , and the ability change difficulty on the fly . Beginner difficulty is also included , which will allow ANYONE to pick up this game and start playing , no matter what skill level . And then there was the AWESOME , Wii-exclusive Roadie Battle mode that allowed someone to sit on the sideline with a DS and sabotage other players . . . . PRICELESS ! ! ! ALL of the features from Guitar Hero 5 are also implemented in Band Hero . That automatically makes Band Hero AWESOME . Period . I really hope Band Hero sells well . Activision took a great game and made it more marketable . Between DJ Hero , Band Hero , and Guitar Hero 5 , there is no longer any excuse for people not to jump in and enjoy rythym gaming . Unless you hate music and hate fun , you should own this game . = ) Some parents / players were put off by some of the art style used in the Guitar Hero games ( lots of skulls , demons , lightning bolts , and heavy metal ) . . . and those people will be happy to know that the look and feel used in Band Hero is more family friendly . . . they've replaced those things with neon lights , starbursts , glitter , floodlights . . . it really feels like Guitar Hero meets The MTV VMA Awards .
