You also get the standard black sleeve for when you are not using the motion plus . Using the motion plus is noticably different than if you use the controller by itself . The movement response is quicker and more accurate than with the controller alone . As far as battery life , I have used the controller for also a month now and have not had to change the batteries even after 24 + hours of use . Excellent buy .

The gloss may get dirty in the long run with fingerprints and skin oil , but for now it's staying shiny . The black rubber jackets may eventually attract dust and lint , but , again , for now they're as clean as can be .
Also , and this may just be the fact that it's still new , the speaker sounds louder and crisper than my other Wiimotes ' speakers . I thought I accidentally had it on a louder setting , but when I checked my Wii it was the same setting as my white ones , so I figured Nintendo improved the sound chips .

okay , i admit it . i only got a black wiimote & nunchuck because for the coolness factor , and i honestly felt a little silly for doing so .
no more ! the matte finish on the back make the controls more comfortable to a surprising degree . it was a doubly nice surprise since i didn't know about the matte finish . if you play without a jacket or skin , this is a serious bonus .
another shock was how clear the wiimote's speaker sounds , compared to my originals .
the one tiny downside - - i'm using rechargable wiimote packs , the kind that comes with new battery covers . since these are white and glossy , they ruin the look and feel of the black wiimote . hopefully Energizer will make ones that match at some point , but for now i'll stick with AAs
as for other accessories , the black wiimote & nunchuck look really darn cool in the white Zapper gun . . .

I had originally gotten my girlfriend her own Wii system with a balance board and the Sports Resort games , which require the MotionPlus system attachments .
Well , long story short , we were having so much fun playing the games and laughing like little kids , not to mention getting good exercise , that I decided to get my own set for my place .
Now I have my own setup with two MotionPlus controllers and can be found practicing my golf swing , bowling , archery skills , and much more in my living room . This is exactly what you'd expect : An extra wii controller with an included motion plus . You may be asking why the motion plus attachment is white , especially considering that Nintendo produced a much better looking version of this controller for Japan , pictured here :

The color is pretty nice , however . It's a little unusual , and a nice addition if you only have white controllers . But the box is ( seemingly ) impossible to open without destroying . There's a crazy amount of adhesive sealing the box closed , so take care when opening if you want to hang on to it .

The new color looks great but the Japanese version has a blue glove where the US still has a transparent one that is bundled with the white controllers . My husband and I got the Wii Fit machine for Christmas . It came with the regular white remote . I wanted another remote in a different color so we could tell whose was whose . I got this one because we intend to get the set of games that uses the motionplus remote . It works fine but I had some trouble setting it up as it did not come with instructions . My biggest complaint is that if Nintendo is selling this product as a bundle , why can't they simply build that MotionPlus functionality into the original controller's form factor ? The added width from the MotionPlus attachment forces you to remove the attachment whenever you want to play games that require you to hold the controller horizontally , like New Super Mario Bros . It just seems silly to feel like I always have to swap the attachments on and off whenever I want to play something like Wii Sports Resort .

150 4 What makes this remote unique is that it's black , not that it has motion plus , so I'll address that . ( White wiimotes can have motion plus , too . . . )
Some reviews mentioned that the black was cleaner , sleeker , maybe , so I got a black one because I needed another wiimote anyway . What I've found is that the black silicon just shows dust and lint better , and so looks less clean , not more . I'm pretty sure most people play with the silicon cover , so the fact that the black wiimote looks sleek doesn't really matter when it's covered by something that picks up dust really easily and is hard to brush off .
But a wiimote is a wiimote . The color doesn't really matter . It just needs to work .

I like my Wii but it's frustrating when the Wii doesn't sense the motions of the controller . I had problems using the original controller with my EA Sports Active workouts so I bought this figuring it may work better . Far too often the Sensor bar doesn't pick up the movements . The price for the package is wonderful . My son loves his wii , and we use that thing like a rented mule , often during playdates in which we have more than one extra child . So it was great to be able to get the wii remote and motion sensor together for a price that let everyone play without breaking the bank .
At least , I thought it was until I realized that the induction chargers would not work through the black jacket on the motion plus or on the regular jacket . Taking off the jacket to charge the battery = more chances for little hands to wreck the thing . Leaving the jacket off is an option , and the one we've been using , but the remote's going to look a lot less cool all scratched up , never mind that the jacket would hide the rechargeable battery pack . So , I went from thinking this was really a cool thing to thinking meh . My son feels pretty much the same , but he's glad to be able to have three friends play at once instead of having to take turns .
UPDATE : Since writing this review I have learned that the energizer induction chargers will work with the skins for these . Very good information ! I have a less expensive induction charger and don't plan to upgrade any time soon , but for those who are in the market , I would recommend the energizer now over the cheaper one that I have .

056 4 My husband and I got the Wii Fit machine for Christmas . It came with the regular white remote . I wanted another remote in a different color so we could tell whose was whose . I got this one because we intend to get the set of games that uses the motionplus remote . It works fine but I had some trouble setting it up as it did not come with instructions . You have to sync it with the machine via a red button near the batteries , while also using a similar button on the console . Once I figured that out ( from reading directions for the other remote , once I found them ) it worked fine .

I first became suspicious when I noticed I was losing all the games I played with the black controller , and winning all the ones with the white one . My friends and I experimented and confirmed that the black controller had a much greater rate of losses for whoever used it . In wii sports resort , dunks and shots were constantly missed , and in speed slice , slices were constantly misread .
We played around with it some more - we placed the black wii motion plus cover over the white controller . Turns out it is the COVER which decreases the sensitivity / accuracy of the controller . The black controller is perfectly fine . Our hypothesis is that the black cover absorbs the infrared signals to and from the controller . The clear cover transmits them .
I now have to buy a separate white wii motionplus to make up for this . And to play normal non motionplus games , I need to buy a new controller altogether . Ugh .
