  • ' ( . . . and YOU CAN'T TRADE WITH THE OLD GAMES . . . , BUT THEY IMPROVED A FEW THINGS . the BOX SYSTEM IS BETTER . it takes much less time to change boxes and find a pokemon , and there's also two kinds of bikes now , the acro bike and the mach bike . the acro bike is slower , but can get you through certain obstacles the mach bike can't , and the mach bike is just a fast bike . they have more legendary pokemon in this game than in the past , and ANOTHER REALLY GREAT THING IS there isn't any pokemon that require a gameshark to obtain ! ! even though they took away my 10 favorite pokemon . . . you should still buy this if you like the pokemon games

When I get it . I'll probably buy Ruby in the summer since the stories in the coming versions are different . I get NP magazines and I saw the latest section in the zine ( POK'eMON Center ) . And It was so COOL ! A whole new region but you can't travel to the past regions . I was thinking that in Vermilion city , Kanto . That old guy in the first generation he was smoothing out his land and in the second generation he smoothed it but he needs money to make a building . So I was thinking that in the coming games he would have enough money but you can't travel so I wonder what it would have been . . . Anyway , I AM EXCITED ! With all the new features : Climates , weather , 2 - on - 2 battles , more cities , more mayhem , more fun , updated POK'eDex , Berry blender , POK'eMON contests , nice rival for the first time , new POK'eMON , new storyline , and more importantly more , fun ADVENTURE ! I haven't played the japenese versions , demo versions but I FULLY TRUST that the games will be perfect and fun ! I already am a proud owner of POK'eMON Sapphire Reserve ! I got it a long time ago I think it was before Feb.I didn't get one of those exclusive coins but it's the game that's important . . . Hope this review helps . . .

Worse , you can't trade between the Advance games and the older games . - No cell phone function . That has been replaced by a trainer eyes function which forces you to have rematches with trainers-you can't select which trainers you want to keep in contact with and which ones you don't . - No Pokemon radio - No Team Rocket . I know we have Team Aqua but wouldn't it be cool if you had to take on both Team Aqua and Team Rocket ? On a related note , the coolest opponent trainer of them all , Giovanni , has not appeared since Red / Blue / Yellow - The rival ! You can't name your rival ; it'll either be Brendan or May . Worse , your rival is too nice ! I miss having a rival who brags about how good he is and how he'll destroy you . Not a single insult from this new rival ! The newest installement of Pokemon has taken several steps forward in some aspects , but a few steps backward in other respects . Overall , it's about equal to Crystal , which was the best of the old Game Boy Pokemon games .
    • 001 4  There are exactly 386 Pokemon , meaning there are 135 more , not 100 . Of course , we don't know how to catch most of those 386 ( everyone playing the Japanese games right now can only get a maximum of 200 right now ) . It is thought there will be another game ( Gamecube or another Advance game ) you will have to trade with to get all those other Pokemon . These games WILL NOT trade back with Red / Blue / Yellow / Gold / Silver / Crystal . Some of the best new features of thse games include ; a secret base which you can decorate with items collected on your journey , a popularity contest in which you can get ribbons for you pokemon to raise his fame , 2 VS 2 battles ( both via link cable and with pairs of characters in the game , including a set of twin gym leaders ) , and the ability to plant trees to get special nuts & berries . There are at least 7 new legendary Pokemon , and while there are no new types of Pokemon in this game , the new critters have many new abilities to keep gameplay fresh . These game may not be all they could be according to some people , but they are more than worthy successors to the Pokemon saga . We all eagerly await the coming of the Gamecube Stadium game . . .

In little root ( where you start ) is the best because your next-door neighbor ( in the game ) gives you a free pokemon . You can choose to be a boy or a girl and your name . After you are done getting the things out of the moving truck you are ready to play ! Don't think twice buy this game ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

In Pokémon Gold and Silver , it was still possible to catch 251 Pokémon , whereas the number now stops at 200 . That said , the worst thing is that Nintendo has deleted most of the best old Pokémon , and has put in new ones instead . They are terrible ! Especially the new legendary Pokémon don't even approach the level that Articuno , Zapdos and Moltres used to achieve . The graphics are bitter too . Although they are well made , they don't give you the distressing feeling which came over you in Red and Blue walking through one of the caves ( which also have disappeared ) . The only improvement there can be seen in the enlargement of the screen font . The sound fails , too . Where are the happy tunes of the older games ? The 2 - on - 2 fights don't add anything to the game . They are the almost no different and they almost don't show up . In spite of this all I found it nevertheless worthwile to play Pokémon Sapphire . Although the good things of the old games has disappeared , it remains exciting to discover a new city and the game has gained in depth on other things , like the improved pack and Pokédex and the addition of Pokémon contests . If you haven't yet played the older games , it is certainly advisable to play Sapphire . Even when you HAVE played them , but be prepared to some major disappointments

This is goind to be a real pokemon hit . I have played all the pokemon games on game boy color and even practiced up a bit on the stadiums for the n64 . They are all great , you don't have to like pokemon to enjoy them ! I at first thought pokemon was a fad that would be short lived , but nintendo turned it into a global phenomenon ! I played the Pokemon Gold version and thought it couldn't get any better . However after looking at this game and seeing new screen shots , higher quality graphics , more colors and quests , a female trainer option , and not to mention the 100 new pokemon , I knew everyone was in for a real surprise . So , the game boy advance is soon to be the proud host of the ultimate twin pokemon games Ruby and Saphire , what I really want to know is , why does saphire get half a star less ?

  • 017 4  if you have read the other revewes you will already know about double battles . so here is the stuff on berries . as you know from gold and silver berries can be used to cure burns and paralis . this also happens in ruby and saphire but you can't turn berries into pokeballs . but a new thing is added , pokeblocks . pokeblocks are used for to things , if your lucky it will make your pokemon like you and it boosts the contest condision . a pokemon contest is when you use pokemon moves to win the contest . the catigorys in a contest are beuty , smartness , toughness , coolness and cuteness . what pokeblocks do is raise one of these categores . There are four levels in a pokemon contest , normal rank , super rank , hyper rank and master rank . you can not trade with crystal , gold or silver .

Some sources say there's a battery within the game cartridge that expires after a couple of years ; another source says the data in the cartridge can easily be corrupted . Who knows ? That's a risk you take with electronic items .

  • 026 4  I have been playing Pokemon since the good old days of Blue and Red , and I must say , the greatness of the series continues with the release of Sapphire and Ruby . This new expansion is the way Pokemon should be played . With Blue and Red , the idea was thrown out . With Silver and Gold , the idea was evolved and improved . But now , Sapphire and Ruby have near perfected the formula . But before I begin with the Pros of the new games , I shall state the Cons . The game is a definite , and everybody should buy it , and the Cons don't really affect the overall experience . First off , not all of the Pokemon are in this game . As most people now , with each new expansion of the series , a new 100 Pokemon are released . In Silver and Gold , all 251 Pokemon could be caught , but with Sapphire and Ruby , several Pokemon are taken out , including old-school favorites such as Mewtwo , Silver and Gold's Lugia , and one of the coolest , Clefairy . As one can assume with this information , it is impossible to link up Sapphire and Ruby to any other Pokemon game except the other , Sapphire connects to Ruby and vice versa . Also , something from Silver and Gold , the Timed Based Events have been taken out . But when you first start playing either Sapphire or Ruby , none of the above matters . Treat this game as you would treat a game that doesn't belong to any specific series . There are several Pros , and I shall only state some . First off , more than 100 new Pokemon , including the largest set of legendaries ever . One of the Cons with the new expansion is that you cannot visit Johto or Kanto . But the game is so big that , well , who cares ? It will take several hours to complete , at least 15 hours if you rush through it and just go from GYM to GYM . You can spend about 100 hours playing this game and still have some stuff to play with , such as your secret hideout , beauty contests ( for your Pokemon that is ! ) , the legendaries ( a lot of fun ) , and a lot of side-quests . But because this game is so large and has so many aspects to it , the only way to fully understand the joy of it is by actually playing the game . Thank you for your time . And as a final word , Kyogre rocks !
    • 009 4  This game is wonderful . I have played all the previous games but the graphics , sound , and gameplay don't compare to Sapphire . You can choose your gender in this game . Your rival is May if you are a male and Brendan ( that's my name also ) if you are female . There is no Team Rocket ( thank God ) but they are replaced with Team Aqua in Sapphire and Team Magma in Ruby . A lot of the old Pokemon don't appear in this game and you cannot trade with the old games . It is not compatible with Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 either . It will be compatible with Pokemon Colliseum for Gamecube probably . There is no Jhoto or Kanto ( many people are annoyed by this but a game pak can't store everything ) . There is also no visible night or day . There are two kinds of bikes in this game . The mach bike can travel fast and the acro bike allows you to do cool tricks . The contests can be fun also . The elite four are easy also if you train your pokemon well . The ledgendary pokemon in this game are Registeel , Regirock , Regice , Kyogre , Latias , and Rayquaza . Groudan replaces Kyogre and Latios replaces Latias in Ruby . Here's a tip : do not forget the master ball in Aqua hideout and use it on Latias . Or get a crobat , give it the quick claw and teach it maen look . Then go crazy throwing ultra balls at it ( weaken it also ) . Here's another tip : When catching Feebas , fish in every tile 5 times on route 119 with an old rod until you find one . It's weak so throw an ultraball at it . I reccomend catching a male and a female so you can raise more and not have to go through this torture trying to catch another one ( because it only appears in 6 outm of 400 tiles ) . In conclusion buy this game . It is surley worth thirty dollars . I hope this review was helpful .

There are new characteristics like Torchic's characteristic is Raging Flame witch powers up fire attacks . The legendaries in this one is Kygore and Latias . These Pokemon will may seem kind of strange because they are in a humanoid shape and have braille markings . There names are Regirock , Regiice and Registeel . Cooler than any other games ! Buy it !

I have really enjoyed playing this new addition to the pokemon series and look forward to finishing it soon . And there are only about 200 out of 350 something pokemon you can capture . I feel that nintendo should move the next version to Game cube or take a leap in the the PC ` ers realm . Nintendo did a good job with the Stadium version , on a game cube system at least it ` ll be more into it with like 4x the current graphics . Overall this is a good game for a beginner but for a seroius gamer who loves RPG ` s you should go for something more along the lines of maturity . Thats my opinion on what I think about this game . The choice is totally yours though .   • 068 4  This game is great . There is a great variety of new Pokemon , and of course some you can't get without a trade , like in every other version . You cannot trade with the Gameboy Color versions , and you need the Gameboy Advance link cable to trade , but I don't care . It's not all new Pokemon , but you can only get one legendary Pokemon per game . The Safari Zone returns , unlike in the Crystal , Silver , or Gold vesions . The graphics are the best graphics I have ever seen on a Gameboy Advance game ever ! Every Pokemon you can't get on Sapphire you can in a trade from Ruby . It is a lot more challenging than the other games , and at one point you save the Hoenn Region from a flood . I'm more into the Gameboy Pokemon games than the shows , and if you are I'd get this game . I can find nothing wrong with this game . The Pokemon League is tougher than the Pokemon League in Silver , Gold , and Crystal version . The highest level is 58 . I haven't challenged the league yet but I will soon . You can get any of the stones , and unlike any other Pokemon games , you can find Professor Birch , the professor in Littleroot town , the starting town , outside his lab on Route 101 . This is a great game , and a must get for any Pokemon fan .

The graphics are some of the brest i have ever seen . when you walk in the snow your footprints stay for a couple of seconds and then fade away . you now have to fish at the exact moment and move your hook instead of waiting three seconds .   • 108 4  I love Sapphire version . The graphics are amazing , the game is more challenging and the new pokemon are awesome ! I think the new 2 on 2 battle feature is great ! If you see two trainers next to eachother , go talk to one of them and your 1st two pokemon in your bag will go out against two other pokemon . But there are new , powerful attacks like endeavor , shock wave etc . The bikes you can get are also good . The acro bike lets you go fast and do wheelies , bunny-hops and bounce on your back tire . The mach bike goes so fast , its hard to stop ! The only bad part i think is that there are not enough trainers to battle in the begining of the game , so that makes it hard to train your pokemon . But the gym leaders are batter , there are more real life scenarios , the battle scenes are better , and there is a better variety of balls to use . But the best part is each pokemon has an effect where something might happen , like every turn your speed goes up , or attacks with sound don't effect or you can't lose acuracy or you even copy the foe's effect . But all of the effects of pokemon , items , attacks etc , go into full detail so you know what they do . If you're looking for a long adventure game that's fun , a little challenging , and very exciting , get pokemon ruby or sapphire !

While the first ones lack the depth of these GBA releases , there is a certain feeling and element to the first two that these new ones don't have . I'm not quite sure what it is . But putting that aside , Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire are two very deep games with hours upon hours of enjoyable gameplay , I have 130 hours on mine and I'm not even close to mastering the damn thing . The replay value is very high , which is great . You'll sure get your money worth out of this one . All the different taskings and the excitement of leveling up your pokemon to gain more moves was great . After playing the rest of his Pokemon games , I see the difference over the years . The graphics on Sapphire are amazing ! And the new Pokemon are great . Also , instead of fighting one twin at a time , you get to use both of your top Pokemon to fight at the same time . The only drawback is without a book to cheat off of , you really wonder all the things you might be missing out on . That's why I ordered the Ruby and Sapphire guide so I can go back and see where all the goodies are . I hope you enjoy this game as much as we have .

I would say that Mudkip is the best starter to choose on Ruby Version because instead of Team Rocket there is Team Magma and if you have a strong water Pokemon you could beat them easily . The first Pokemon to choose on Sapphire should be Treecko because there is a Team Aqua . The first wild Pokemon to catch , in my opinion , should be Zigzagoon , Wurmple ( because it evolves into Silcoon which evolves into Beautifly ) , Taillow , Slakoth , and Skitty . My favorite is Mudkip . This game is so tight because it has all new graphics , like shadows and reflections , and you can even wade in little ponds . The music is much better , and it doesn't have just drum sounds and music like the other games , but it has bass . I like the music in Littleroot Town the best . See you later .     • 103 4  This is one of the best pokemon games I own ( which is a lot ) . Pokemon Sapphire let's you choose to be a boy or girl and you choose your own starter pokemon . THe choices are Treeko ( grass ) , Torchic ( fire ) , or Mudkip ( water ) . All of them are awesome although I started out with Torchic . Pokemon Sapphire also has a 2 - on - 2 battle mode . Fighting with 2 pokemon can be lots of fun . The graphics are much better than the other pokemon games . Another cool feature that I like is the new attacks . They are simply awesome ! Blaze Kick and Sky Uppercut are some of my favorite attacks in the game . Pros : - Cool graphics - New attacks - 2 - on - 2 battle mode - New pokemon Cons : - Can't trade with Red / Bluee / Yellow / Gold / Silver / Crystal Well , that's all I can think of .   • 132 4  the moment i got my mudkip i instatly cought saphire fever . saphire unfortunantly cant be played on gameboy color . there are two new evil teams are team aqua and team magma ( sadly there is no team rocket . in saphire the team you are fighting is team aqua ( who wants the trouble of fighting two teams ) . the three legendarias are groudon , kyogre and rayqaza but you dont need to worry about groudon because you dont catch him . kyogre is in the cave of origin and you can either beat him or catch him ( i would catch him he is super strong ) you can use your master ball if you like but i would save it for latias ( make sure you save before you battle him if you are trying to catch him if he beats you or you beat him you can turn of and try again ) . rayquaza is at the top of the sky pillar and if you dont want to catch him ignore the sky pillar onless you want a good ghost type . if you want to catch him make sure you save and its ok to use your master ball but i would use in on latias . keep in mind you can only catch him after you beat the elite four . there are also three miner legenarias regirock , regice and registeel . to get these three i would recomend either a guide of somesort or a good brail guid . i would only catch one if i were you because the moves they learn are pretty much the same . there wareabouts are regice is an island between dewford and slaport , regirock is at the botom of the desert and registeel is right outside lilycove ( where the girl who gives you the berry is . for finding them i would also recomend a guid because i cannot explain there locations are very well . when you get to there locations you will notice that there is no way in . that is because you have not gone to the sealed chamber . i would use a guide to get there because its very hard to get there without instuctions . im going to save you alot of trouble by telling you this when you enter the sealed chamber go right to the front and use dig ( wich you get from fossil maniacs younger brother ) . a door will open and proseed into the next chamber walk to the front put ralicanth at the front of your party and wailord at the back and hit the A bottun ( if you want to get emereld read the emerld reveiws in emreld things are differt and alot harder ) . once your in the tomb of the regis read the brail at the front and it will tell you to use a certain move in a certain place then you can catch the regis ( do not use your master ball there are bigger and better things to use it on ) . i know i mentioned the elite four earlyer so here it is . the elite four ( also known as the pokem leage ) are a group of four members and the champion . there pokemon typs go dark , ghost , ice , dragon and finally steel ( get a good water type and you'll crush the champion ) . once you beat the elite four the ferry starts working so you can go to battle tower . there are two rooms in the battle tower the level 50 room and the level 100 room . in the level fifty room you fight seven trainers ( all there pokemon are level fifty ) you can use only three pokemon and you cant use rayquaza kyogre or groudon . same rules for the level 100 room only every trainers pokemon is level 100 . you cant hook up with c / s / g / r / b / y but you can hook up with firered and leafgreen . your probobly going to catch saphire fever too .

While the graphics and sounds are amazing compared to previous pokemon games . when this shock wears off , you'll find that the older games are actually much better . While the new personalities and other additions are very interesting , there are many flaws in the game . The female player is very strange-looking ( even ugly ) , and the rival isn't pushy enough ( not the type that you can love to hate , therefore less fun to defeat ) The trainers in the game are very easy to defeat ; I breezed through this game even more quickly than gold , which was entirely too easy in and of itself . The lack of strategy of the in-game trainers and their low-level pokemon makes running into and battling them realy a bore . These trainers were much harder to defeat in yellow version , the hardest versoin of all pokemon games . The storyline is hard to follow wihout a guide , and can even be frustrating . As with all pokemon games , the storyline is entirely too short , leaving a player with nothing to do when their pokemon reach level 40ish . By far the largest dissappointment ; however , is the varety of pokemon available in the game . Almost all of the pokemon from the previous versoins ae not available in these games . The new pokemon are , for the most part , are very dissappointing , as they appear that nintendo has run out of idea for pokemon . All the new pokemon are similar in shape , color , and other appearance . I soon found , using a quick online lookup , that ALL my favoriite pokemon had been discontinued from both ruby and sapphire , making for a very unhappy game experience .

Even if it's aimed at a younger audiance than me , I still thought it was one of the best video games I'veplayed ( I wonder if the Fire Red and Leafy Green ( Remakes of the original red / green versions ; red / blue if you have the Nintendo of America version ) versions will change that . . . ) _ _ _ There were a few things that did bug me , though : - No trading ! When Leafy Green ( Retitled ' Ocean Blue ' , maybe ? ) and Fire Red come to the USA later this year though , that will change - - ever wonder how Mewtwo and Kyouga would fair in a battle aginst one another ? - No Kantou or Jouto are present - - only Houen ( Yes , I use the original spellings , which are Japanese ) . - It wasn't very difficult . Some Pokemon could be hit once , even at a higher level than you , and faint instantly . - Too many Pokemon battles in one area . In the Dewford Cave ( FIne , no Japanese town names . _ ) , Geodudes will attack you EVERY FIVE STEPS . If you have no repels / super repels , you're gonna have a problem . _ _ One thing I really liked in particualr : The Aqua-Dan / Magma-Dan ( Team Aqua / Team Magma ) . Both strive for the exact oppisite , and are not evil at all . ( A good break from the Rocket-Dan , who just steal and torture Pokemon ) The Aqua-Dan loves water Pokemon , and want to flood the world with water , giving them a bigger habitat . Magma loves land pokemon , and want to seal out water for good . Though both teams are too dumb to realize that what they're doing could kill everyone on the planet , they are really and interesting force . _ _ _ Most everything else I liked about the game . Though it has a few little flaws , it's a fun game , with plenty more to praise than to complain about .

It's graphics had improved but one thing that disappoint me was that the animation went a step back . In Pokemon Crystal the wild / foe Pokemon will move . Now in Sapphire it doesn't ( or at least I THINK it doesn't since I kept fidgeting with the Option mode ) . The story is about the same in other versions . With an evil gang ( Team Aqua ) , a legendary Pokemon ( Kyogre ) , the Hero / Heroine , a Prof and the three starter Pokemon . One thing that is new is the friendly team ( Team Magma ) which saved me a lot of work or I'll be battling for a long time . I quite like Team Aqua's evil plan of distroying the world by flooding ! It made me feel like a real hero to kill or capture Kyogre ! I also like the Pokemon Contest . I beat the Master Rank and it is so hard ! The thing that disappoint me is that you cannot go back to Johto or Kanto like in Gold , Silver and Crystal . Talking about the graphics . The graphics have improved a little bit . In Pokemon Red , Blue and Yellow Ash ( Red ) was blurish . In Pokemon Gold , Silver and Crystal it became clearer . Now in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire it became clearer that ever . You can do tricks in the bicycles ( on the Arco only ) . And when you use an HM move ontside of a battle it became cooler than before . If you're thinking of buying one - hesitate no longer ! Only Sapphire Version , Ruby Version , Green Leaf Version , and Fire Red Version , but the game is still good ! You don't have to be a fan of Pokemon to like this game . The graphics are improved a lot from Pokemon : Crystal Version , with the Choose your gender thing still in tact . Even if it's aimed at a younger audiance than me , I still thought it was one of the best video games I'veplayed ( I wonder if the Fire Red and Leafy Green ( Remakes of the original red / green versions ; red / blue if you have the Nintendo of America version ) versions will change that . . . ) _ _ _ There were a few things that did bug me , though : - No trading ! When Leafy Green ( Retitled ' Ocean Blue ' , maybe ? ) and Fire Red come to the USA later this year though , that will change - - ever wonder how Mewtwo and Kyouga would fair in a battle aginst one another ? - No Kantou or Jouto are present - - only Houen ( Yes , I use the original spellings , which are Japanese ) . - It wasn't very difficult . Some Pokemon could be hit once , even at a higher level than you , and faint instantly . - Too many Pokemon battles in one area . In the Dewford Cave ( FIne , no Japanese town names . _ ) , Geodudes will attack you EVERY FIVE STEPS . If you have no repels / super repels , you're gonna have a problem . _ _ One thing I really liked in particualr : The Aqua-Dan / Magma-Dan ( Team Aqua / Team Magma ) . Both strive for the exact oppisite , and are not evil at all . ( A good break from the Rocket-Dan , who just steal and torture Pokemon ) The Aqua-Dan loves water Pokemon , and want to flood the world with water , giving them a bigger habitat . Magma loves land pokemon , and want to seal out water for good . Though both teams are too dumb to realize that what they're doing could kill everyone on the planet , they are really and interesting force . _ _ _ Most everything else I liked about the game . Though it has a few little flaws , it's a fun game , with plenty more to praise than to complain about .

    • 157 4  Don't get me wrong this is a great looking game and should be on almost every gamers lists . Well , let me rephrase that . It should be on every Pokemaniacs list . However , I've outgrown being a Pokemaniac . Sure it was good in the long run but a few things about this new version are troubling . True , the graphics are very nice and it's about time too . The sound is nicely done and there are more creatures to collect . Very nice indeed . You can now battle two on two to a battle and that brings for a bit more gameplay . Yes this is a nice upgrade in the series indeed . My problem with the game is that we've been doing the same thing FOREVER ! Nothing in the main story has really changed at all . You still go around collecting badges and trying to catch ' em all . For growing little RPGers such as myself this theme has worn its toll . The two on two battles , while nice are a bit . . . poor . I mean , the battle engine is the same . You still have the same poorly done battle animations . You still look over your pokemons shoulder and they still only twitch to attack . Being that this is on the GBA instead of the regular Gameboy now , I thought this would be much better than that . When Pokemon Gold / Silver came , it was a HUGE step above the original Red / Yellow / Blue . This one is merely a babystep from Gold / Silver / Crystal . There are only more creatures , enhanced grapchics and sound , and the two on two battles . Nothing more . Sure there's the if it ain't broke don't fix it deal with this series , but well its time Pokemon did something more innovative . I'm tired of the He's robbing a bank LET'S BATTLE HIS POKEMON AND HE'LL STOP ! This seems much too childish for me . I'm so used to getting something different from RPGs but Pokemon always seems to follow the same story which is getting boring now . If you're a pokemaniac then get this . But I'm all Pokemoned out now . If you're a serious RPGer , then its time to put the Pokemon games down and get Golden Sun : The lost Age for your GBA rather than this .

T'ts so awesome ! ! Another thing i like is that its so easy to get stuck in this game . Its more of an RPG like Final Fantasy . You have to figure out ways to do stuff ! And there are so many side quests ! Kyogre and Groudon are AWESOME ! ! So is Rayquaza ! ! omg ! and uh if all of you out there that dont know what that is , go to Pacifidlog Town and surf outside the eastern part and go up and look for a cave door thingy . Enter the tower there , and get past the cracks with a Mach Bike and Rayquaza is at LVL 70 ! ! but u can only get it after beating the elite four . . . oh well ! so anyway its so good ! Fly , ExtremeSpeed , Outrage , and Uhh I forgot last move , but oh well ! ! Anyway Keep on Gaming People ! Oh and anyone who disses Pokemon ( the game ) is so stupid ! ( Geez , what a cliche'd line , lol . ) Anyway , this game has many , many , ( Insert the word ' many ' a whole bunch of times ^ - ^ ) new features . First of all , a huge bundle of brand new Pokemon ! And now , thanks to Pokemon Firered and leafgreen , you can get the 151 of the Kanto region in here too ! Sadly , there are no new Pokemon Gold / Silver remakes . . . yet . Plus , there are Contests ! Contests are special . . . well . . . contests , based on several categories , like Beauty , Tough , and Cute . Raise your pokemon to fit Contest form with Pokeblocks , a special candy that increases it's Coolness , Cuteness , Toughness , etc . Pokemon moves are also categorized . Such as , Bubble is a Cute move , and Brick Break is a Tough move , therefore , they can be used in their respective contests . There are also Natures , which can affect the way a Pokemon grows . Do I need to underline it ? They are Pokemon colored differently than usual , and SUPER rare . I have not encountered one yet on my Ruby and Sapphire versions , but I have a Shiny Graveler on Firered . They are recognizable by a shimmery glow of stars around them , and their different colors . If you see one , CATCH IT ! * Plant Berries ! Currently , on Sapphire , I used up all the game's berries , and I can't plant many more . ( I think I have the dreaded Berry Glitch ) Berries are useful in battle , and are used to make Pokeblocks for Pokemon Contests . * This isn't really a tip . . . more of an evaluation . If you are a Newbie to Pokemon games , don't choose Torchic . It is weak to many Gym leaders , but is great for expierienced trainers . Kyogre is an awesome legendary . he is really strong ( i have caught him ) . Zigzagoon does have a lot of abilities but u'll find that he isn't very powerful .     • 155 4  Nintendo has produced some of the greatest games in history . Pokemon has always been one of the great Nintendo franchises and Pokemon Ruby Saphire is no exception . The only problem , it may be too little too late . Everyone knows how popular Gold and Silver were in their day , and everyone was sure Ruby Saphire would only improbe on those fantastic features . Many buyers ( including me ) were shocked on the day of release that some of the features in Gold and Silver weren't even hinted in Ruby Saphire . The groundbreaking time and day feature that allowed players to set a clock to the time of day and weekday so players could interact with day specific events and special time of day Pokemon including different setting looks for different times of day or night was not carried over to the new games . Sure you set a clock , but it doesn't do anything and can't be changed for daylight savings time . Also , there is no backward compatibility for old games with trading and battling . Also , the old lands such as Jhoto and Kanto aren't featured in the game either . But , even despite the new games ' lack of features , it does have some upsides . The game introduces 100 new pokemon , though you also can't capture some of the old ones , and 350 are alot to keep track of . The game has slightly better graphics , and a girl character . The game also has compatibility with the Nintendo e-Reader though it does require a cord and an additional GBA . The game also has some new bells and whisles such as Pokemon Contest , a sort of beauty contest in some sense . Also , the game has 2 on 2 battles and the ability to create a secret hideout ( a sort of 2nd room ) some mountains and trees . Other than that , the game is the same Pokemon we all know and love .   • Pokemon Sapphire ( Video Game ) While this game is fun , nothing compares to the original Blue / Red . While the first ones lack the depth of these GBA releases , there is a certain feeling and element to the first two that these new ones don't have . I'm not quite sure what it is . But putting that aside , Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire are two very deep games with hours upon hours of enjoyable gameplay , I have 130 hours on mine and I'm not even close to mastering the damn thing . The replay value is very high , which is great . You'll sure get your money worth out of this one . While the first ones lack the depth of these GBA releases , there is a certain feeling and element to the first two that these new ones don't have . I'm not quite sure what it is . Latios from Ruby can in fact be accessed by an Eon Ticket and an e-reader . And vice-versa for Ruby , but if you do get the game , I'm sure that you'll read about it on a game walkthrough ( for you probably will need some help ) . 7 . You can grow berries for pokeblock ingredients as well as for pokemon battles . 8 . You can create a secret base and buy items to decorate it with . 9 .     • 003 4  I have been playing the Japanese version of Sapphire for about 20 + hours now , and I believe I might be able to shed some light on what to expect . Overview : The game starts out with the ability to choose between a boy and a girl character . Like previous games , you may choose the name of your character HOWEVER you can not choose the name of your rival . After taking care of some basic things , you head out to become a Pokemon master . The same aspects of the previous games once again apply , and of course , Team Rocket ( in the form of Team Aqua ) will once again try to stop you . The game is very easy to follow and manipulate , so even the youngest fan won't have a hard time becoming a Pokemon master . Graphics : Unlike Crystal , the Pokemon are no longer given an intro animation . While this does reduce battle time significantly in the long term , it might be a dissapointment for many younger players . However , the animation for attacks and item usage has been greatly improved . Certain attacks , like attract are now given a greater spotlight and have become long-term status effects . This new addition , along with many other new TMs , will greatly delight even the oldest Pokefan . Music : The music is rather cheesy . This newest release does feature variations of the battle themes that most G / S / C fans are accustomed to , but the variations aren't incredibly good . Pokedex : Yes , the Pokedex has once again gone a major upgrade and it will not be a dissapointment . The most interesting feature is that your Pokemon will now be shown relative to your character , giving the player a better idea of how large each Pokemon is . New Pokemon : If you expect the new release to have lots of cutesy Pokemon , you will be in for a let-down . 186 of the old Pokemon are not availble in either Sapphire or Ruby , and as you can not trade with the earlier versions of the game , completing your Pokedex will be impossible until further versions are released . The nice thing is that , until Milo Town ( 3rd town ) , you won't encounter any of the old Pokemon . This means that you can not longer rely on familiar faces like Mareep and instead you'll have to adapt to new Pokemon like Jigumaguma . There are 5 Pokemon featured in this game that can not be caught in Ruby ; Habunake , Hassboh , Latias , Kyogre and Runatoon . Both Latias & Kyogre are legendary Pokemon . Overall , despite the music and the inability to trade Pokemon with previous versions , this is a great game that will keep anyone busy for hours on end . Sapphire is definetely worth the [ price ] .

Strict was my best-friends household , where there was no regular TV programming allowed , and only G rated movies allowed . That is strict . So I consider myself fairly middle-of-the-road . . . and about 95% of parents out there way to lax . These little Pokemon guys fit into that pretty well . We like both Ruby and Sapphire , though haven't traded Pokemon yet . Looking forward to doing so . We encourage you , if you like Pokemon , plan to add both to your collection at some time . But get at least one in the meantime .

Any who about the game , I'll give it four stars cause it sure is fun and now you don't have to just battle and be the Pokemon Master , cause they now have Pokemon contests in which you give your pokemon berries which bring up one of their stats like cool , tough , cute , and others like that and then they compete for ribons , i'm glad they put that in . Something I did not like is you can't catch most of the pokemon in Gold / Silver and Red / Blue versions but their are new pokemon which kinda makes up for it . so all together their are about 200 pokemon you can catch but you'll need the ruby version for that.another bad thing about the game is it might be a little bit too easy , but i'm sure you'll still have fun . It has cool all new and better sound effects and music , it has more citys and bigger citys and towns to go to than other games , and you can fight with two on two battles ! The graphics and colors are magnificent and the different Pokemon are awesome ! The contest is cool because you can see if your Pokemon is cool , cute , tough , ect . It has more TM and HM moves to choose from and it even has a cool new feature that lets you use a special HM on an odd looking tree or cliff and you can create your own secret clubhouse base ! The story begins as you choose a boy or girl . Then you start in a small town , Little Root , and your goal is to become the best Pokemon Trainer in the Hoenn Region , the contenent you play in . It is fun and I assure you it will probobly be a great adventure for anyone . Overall this game is the best I've seen and I would give it more than 5 if I could !
    • 126 4  I've been playing Sapphire , and i have to say , i love it . It has all the classsic game play of previous Pokémon games , but with so many new added features . There are a lot of secrets to find , many new mini games , and the addition of tons of new stats and characteristics for the Pokémon . Environmental effects such as tracks in the sand , reflections in water , and regional weather draw you into the Pokémon world . The game is incredibly fun , full of plot twists , side quests , and things to do . If you like any of the previous Pokémon , i'd recommend this one . I'd go so far as to say that this is the best one yet . If you've never played Pokémon , this is a great point to jump in .
    • 131 4  This review is from : Pokemon Sapphire ( Video Game ) the moment i got my mudkip i instatly cought saphire fever . saphire unfortunantly cant be played on gameboy color . there are two new evil teams are team aqua and team magma ( sadly there is no team rocket . in saphire the team you are fighting is team aqua ( who wants the trouble of fighting two teams ) . the three legendarias are groudon , kyogre and rayqaza but you dont need to worry about groudon because you dont catch him . kyogre is in the cave of origin and you can either beat him or catch him ( i would catch him he is super strong ) you can use your master ball if you like but i would save it for latias ( make sure you save before you battle him if you are trying to catch him if he beats you or you beat him you can turn of and try again ) . rayquaza is at the top of the sky pillar and if you dont want to catch him ignore the sky pillar onless you want a good ghost type . if you want to catch him make sure you save and its ok to use your master ball but i would use in on latias . keep in mind you can only catch him after you beat the elite four . there are also three miner legenarias regirock , regice and registeel . to get these three i would recomend either a guide of somesort or a good brail guid . i would only catch one if i were you because the moves they learn are pretty much the same . there wareabouts are regice is an island between dewford and slaport , regirock is at the botom of the desert and registeel is right outside lilycove ( where the girl who gives you the berry is . for finding them i would also recomend a guid because i cannot explain there locations are very well . when you get to there locations you will notice that there is no way in . that is because you have not gone to the sealed chamber . i would use a guide to get there because its very hard to get there without instuctions . im going to save you alot of trouble by telling you this when you enter the sealed chamber go right to the front and use dig ( wich you get from fossil maniacs younger brother ) . a door will open and proseed into the next chamber walk to the front put ralicanth at the front of your party and wailord at the back and hit the A bottun ( if you want to get emereld read the emerld reveiws in emreld things are differt and alot harder ) . once your in the tomb of the regis read the brail at the front and it will tell you to use a certain move in a certain place then you can catch the regis ( do not use your master ball there are bigger and better things to use it on ) . i know i mentioned the elite four earlyer so here it is . the elite four ( also known as the pokem leage ) are a group of four members and the champion . there pokemon typs go dark , ghost , ice , dragon and finally steel ( get a good water type and you'll crush the champion ) . once you beat the elite four the ferry starts working so you can go to battle tower . there are two rooms in the battle tower the level 50 room and the level 100 room . in the level fifty room you fight seven trainers ( all there pokemon are level fifty ) you can use only three pokemon and you cant use rayquaza kyogre or groudon . same rules for the level 100 room only every trainers pokemon is level 100 . you cant hook up with c / s / g / r / b / y but you can hook up with firered and leafgreen . your probobly going to catch saphire fever too .
    • 148 4  This review is from : Pokemon Sapphire ( Video Game ) pokemon saphire is searesly cool , it is just that afteru play it for say 60 odd hours that it begins to get a bit boring.I got it around a year ago and in my 2 game which i am playing right now i have managed to master a few of its secrets like catching kyogre and rayquaza.before u go off to try and catch them save ur game.that way even if u cant catch it just shut off ur game and try again.believe me it isnt that easy to catch a 70level dragon pokemon.my neighor who has ruby found the way to rayquaza but he first tried to catch it whith out telling me .4 or 5 days later he finally succeded.he first tried to lower its hp and then try to catch it wich is wat u should do which other pokemon.when he caught it he showed me the way.after about half an hour i grew sooooooooooo fraustratedi simply used the pokeballs from the beginning and i succeded ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! [ it toke some time , be patient ] the hardest thing in the game is catching latias.even though its only 40level it keeps roaming around.and when u see it it flees from battle.i suggest u keep ur master ball for it.the 2 on 2 battles are awesome ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! but battle tower is pretty stupiud.even if u defeat 7 trainers in a row all u get is a lousy calcium.but it has 4 doors so i suspect something happens when u defeat the 100 level floor.the graphics are awesome ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! the contests r pretty much ok.i suggest u start with a torchick as there are no good fire pokemon exept blazikien and vulpix.right now i have a sceptile which u should take if u dont want blazikien.and vulpix dont evolve easily.i have a 60 level vulpix which has not yet evolved . the secret base is stupid , there is nothing to do there ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! if u want metagrosss after u defeat steven go to his house in mossdeep and there in a pokeball wiil be beldum which evolves in to metang which evolves into metagrosss ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ur team should have a balance of types.my team is peliper , { u get flying and ater and u should have water types ] sceptile , { grass which is not really nececary but sceptile is powerfulll } blazikien or vulpix { fire ! ! } kyogre { water and legendary make a deadly combination } rayquaza { its dragon , legendary and level 70 } and a ghost pokemon.i have heard roumers that once sceptile is 100level it becomes omega sceptile and has infinity hp and there fore can only be defeated by a 1 - hit ko attack ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! but then i suggest u bye emarld as its almost the same price and u can catch kyogre and groudon , ryquaza and i think deoxys . ps { i know i made a lot of spelling mistakes } i hope u found this rewiew helpfull

    • 154 4  Well , I didn't think it was possible to make a poor pokemon game , but they proved me wrong . The only good thing about this game is the graphics . There are 100 + new pokemon , and once again nintendo dosen't program them all into the game , plus , 184 of the older pokemon are not in the game , and cannot be traded from older versions , forcing you into buying a cheating device to code them in . There are only 4 - 6 pokemon that each sapphire and ruby need to trade with each other . Plus the game gives you much more busy work than any other game I've played . Plus the map is so rediculously small , you can get through the entire island in 15 minutes after you beat all the gyms . The two constants I noticed in this game is that there are a lot of water pokemon , and almost every pokemon can confuse another . If they really wanted to make a good sequal , here's what Nintendo needs to do * larger map , or incorporate the Kanto and Johto Islands also , thus killing 2 birds with one stone by also making more space for a variable amount of more pokemon breeds . * include more pokemon * while battling , use a better variety of status ailments , after the 5th battle I had in the game , i noticed a trend of my pokemon being confused . * end it better , after the team aqua / team magma thing , it didn't feel like the story line was resolved , so I wondered around for a while and did nothing . So if you're in for a dissapointment then get the game .

There are a lot of new things to do , like Pokemon contests ( you may have seen these on D & P in season 11 ) , and Poke blocks . The Poke block mini game is quite fun , but repetitive after a time . You start to get annoyed that the old man playing with you keeps missing so much even though you're perfect and therefore makes the quality of your blocks sub-par . You also never really know where to go in the game . I spent who knows how long wandering around before I happened to chance upon that I had to go back to Lavaridge to complete a quest before I could continue . Mind , I was halfway across the world from Lavaridge at that point , having just naturally defeated the gym leader that the game had led me to . That's just one of the places I got stuck in . I got stuck about 8 times a day ( playing about 6 hours a day on and off ) , not exaggerating . The game gives you no hints in this regard . I played up until Shoal cave ( after Mossdeep city ) and put the game down . I may pick it up later , but right now , I've had enough . I wouldn't suggest this for someone playing Pokemon for the first time . This is more for someone who wants to play Pokemon because they like the genre and want to play another Pokemon game after having several under their belt . Some people say that this is their favorite Pokemon game of all , so everyone's experience is different . Don't let my review keep you from playing this game . The best part is that if your friend has ruby version kyorgre wips groudon . The only problem is that it gets boring once you've completed it and it can get extemely frustrating ! But either way , one of the greatest nintendo games ever !

I think that that the originals were fine and there graphics were lagging but sapphire has a great story and great graphics , the game is great because you are in the all new Hoenn Region and only 52 of the original pokemon were kept and the new pokemon are so cool , if you have any intrest in this interview you obviously are thinking about buying it , buy it ! The game is the best , the features are the best , buy it ! & #60 ; br / & #62 ; & #60 ; br / & #62 ; Sapphire rules all . Sapphire kicks the originals out of commission .
