Pokemon Pearl Version

  • 015 4  My son bought this game because he said the price was too good to pass up . He received the game soon after and has really enjoyed it . The savings were a plus .
    • 101 4  Both games are great . My grandson plays them side by side as he has two DS and he says playing against each other is fun .
    • 125 4  My sons all love this game ! ! ! ! the graphics are great and it really keeps their interest !
    • 141 4  My grandson wanted this for his birthday and says this is the best game ever .
    • 143 4  My son has really enjoyed the game because it has new pokemon in it .

  • 030 4  The game is worth every penny . This game was a gift for my son , and he loves it . He plays it a lot . The game takes advantage of the WiFi feature so you can connect to other players , and it also allows the player to use the Pokemon which the player unlocked in the Pokemon game for the Wii . Now original features like that is what makes Nintendo the best gaming system .
    • 147 4  Finally PKMN jump into the DS , the new versions offer a world of new features like battles around the world and trading pkmns using Wi-Fi .

  • 054 4  One of the better pokemon games available . Unfortunately not much variety of pokemon exist in this iteration of the game . A great story and lots of pokemon fun .

    • 066 4  I like this game because of all of the special additions to it . it has time ( night + day ) certain pokemon appear at certain times and you get to go more places than the previous games.the only bad part is that the Elite Four are almost impossible !
      • 058 4  Not gonna lie - it's the same game as the others , it just looks MUCH nicer . It's just as fun and I finished it in about the same time as the others too . Worth buying , playing , and reselling . : - )
      • 068 4  This game is really fun , even if you know next to nothing about Pokemon ! I started the game only knowing about a few Pokemon . Now , I have memorized all 493 ! In conclusion , this game is one of the best I have ever played ! Note : Also check out Pokemon - Diamond Version Note : We reserve the right to edit or reject reviews that include inappropriate content , profanity , references to other retailers , pricing , or personal information .
      • 145 4  Pruchase was ok but the shipping was all of ten days they used USPS book rate I would say need to ship by priority shipping just a couple of dollars more then 2.50 they paid . . Carl
      • 163 4  two words for this game : tottally awsome . : I love pokemon and now that there are over 400 dueds to get . Now thats somting the koolaid guy should be talkn about

    • 072 4  I found this game at a great price with super saver shipping , that said i didnt pay anything else just the exact amount shown in seller website , and that is a great plus for me , cuz i didnt have to spend in shipping or any tax and i was lookin for a deal like this , to not rely on an used one ; and also was specified like said on website . so im a happy costumer with this purchase ! ! I totally recommend it , plus fast shipping too ! and of the games it is a fun game mostly entertaining and of course rated for EVERYONE , but if you like pokemon is a hit ! enjoy !
      • 027 4  I love this game . This game is by far the best and so is pokemon diamond
      • 056 4  This game is pretty fun . When I first got it , i was really in to it . After a while , it became pretty boring and i didn't want to play it anymore . I didn't know what to do next , what to catch , and where to go , etc . . . I wanted to end the game already but i didn't know wat to do ! I think that it would be a pretty fun game for people who like to explore and have a loootttt of patience . Overall , the game is something worth its cost .
      • 062 4  This is a cool game . Training pokemon is my favorite part . I enjoyed the new pokemon like garchomp or arceus , but the rest of the game is boring . I still like pearl version and it would be worth to buy it .
      • 064 4  I love pokemon . Great game . Alot of fun and very addicting . I just wish they would make a game like this for the bigger systems . One that you can actually go and catch pokemon like on the TV show . Until they get smart enough to do that , I will continue to have fun with what they have out .
      • 081 4  This game is super fun for pokemon fans . I think you should buy it so you can see how much fun the battles are . You are able to battle lots of pokemon . I think anyone 5 and older would love this game .
      • 097 4  this game is great , because there are more things to do than the other games . So far my favorite thing to do is go under ground and search for stuff , and set traps for other people . And Wi-Fi connection for the game is cool cause you can battle people all over the world , and trade for pokemon you don't have . I give it two thumbs up ! b ^ - ^ d
      • 119 4  Its a great game really , but inorder to acully win , you must buy an Action Replay to catch the legendaries like Shaymin , Darakri , or Arcues . I did like it , but having to buy a thirty dollar prduct for a game with not even a majority of the pokemon in it was not to my likeing .
      • 127 4  Pearl / Diamond makes for a really fun pokemon game on the DS . Its fun to train pokemon , trade , and try to catch em ' all . Even though at its core it really is the same game as the others , it's still fun and I highly recommend it .
      • 149 4  I was amazed at the quality of this USED game i purchased . It had everything from original case to intructions . The delivery time was great ! I will continue to purchase from this seller . Thanks
      • 155 4  I got this game today and it is totally awesome ! I have a couple of pokemon and they are so cool ! The effects are 3D and work well with the animation . I LOVE this game !
      • 161 4  I never received this and can't seem to get an email reply from the vendor .

    • 089 4  Its a great game that is so fun i won almost the whole game so buy pearl instead of dimond cause the legendary in pearl is so much stronger and better than the one in dimond so get this ds game and have as much fun as i did and yeah i almost forgot if i were you i would pick the leaf pokemon i know at the beginig it is not good but later on it will be the most powerful pokemon and will be unstopable so please take this fantastic advice and please do so to win the game ok ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
      • 017 4  Most of the new pokemons not that great ; however , the game is great because you could trade worldwide , go into the underground turnel to digs , catch pokemons that you migrate from other games , and there are more unique classes . There are other evolutions that need to be found and a lots of new pokemons .
      • 083 4  This game is so fun ! It's not too challenging but it's not too easy either . There are tons of things to discover . Cheats are nice for this game but they are not absolutely necessary . You can get all kinds of things in this game and catch all different kinds of Pokemon and it's not hard to fill up your Pokedex .
      • 110 4  If you like RPG's , it does not matter how young or old you are , this is a fun game .
      • 129 4  This game was one of the best amazon purchases ever ! The gamm was so fun ! !

    • Pokemon Diamond and Pearl . The Pokemon craze has been around for years . Ever since the Red and Blue versions hit way back , Pokemon has been huge . It's tried and true formula has worked for over ten years , and it's pretty apparent that the formula isn't going to die now . Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are a lot like the Pokemon games that preceded it , but they've really thrown in some good touches here . Still , most players who've been playing since the Gameboy days , or even as recent as the GBA days will still get a been there , done that , feeling . Still , the game is good , addictive and it will keep you busy for hours on end . As I said , Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have a been there , done that kind of feel . You begin as a rookie trainer in a village , and under some circumstances , you are asked by a professor to go and collect Pokemon data using a Pokedex . On your journey your goal is to collect as many Pokemon as you can and train them to take on other trainers , and to get all the badges from the games various gym leaders , while you've got a rival who is out doing to same thing to prove he's better than you . In addition , there's an evil organization called Team Galactic that has plans for a new world order and to do that they need all the Pokemon they can get . If all this sounds familiar , that's because it is ! It's the exact same formula that worked for the original Pokemon games on the Gameboy , the games on the Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance . The story , of course , is simple and charming , but where Pokemon has always managed to shine most is it's fantastic and addictive gameplay . Pokemon is actually really strategic and in-depth . That is to say , it requires a lot of thought , and believe me , some of these battles ( especially against the new Pokemon that are introduced in this version ) require a lot of your skill . Battles are turn based , where you select a command and then watch a round of combat . There's a paper / rock / scissors effect here , however . Each and every Pokemon has a type , and some of the attacks they use reflect its type . This makes up what deals massive damage , what deals no damage and what deals just normal damage . Grass may be strong against water , for example but grass is also weak against fire , but in turn , fire is weak versus water . This effect plays through with seventeen and different types , and there is no best type because every type has a weakness . It's because of this element that Pokemon is so much fun to play . Just trying to construct the perfect team will take you more than a day , and with over 100 new creatures to collect , you can form endless amounts of teams . Just catching all the Pokemon alone will keep you busy for well over 50 hours . To add to the effect you'll face several other trainers as well , and you never know what they'll throw at you . Your strongest Pokemon may very well become your weakest in certain battles just because of its type . The battle system itself is made even simplar by the touch screen . Where as before you were scrolling through menus , battling can simply be done by touching the different options on screen . It makes battling a lot faster , especially because the icons are pretty big . Luckily , there's never really a point where you have to use the touch screen if you don't want to , and battling can still be done the old fashioned way if you so choose . As with Ruby and Sapphire there are also moments of two on two battles . Usually they come with either two trainers taking you on at a time , and you'll send out the two Pokemon in your top roster , or you'll be with another trainer who will send out his or her Pokemon with yours . It adds to the strategic feel of the game , but the moments of two on two battles are pretty few and far between . In your journey you'll also receive a nifty watch that works based off the time of your internal clock . This means that much like Gold and Silver , it'll switch between day and night . Some Pokemon come out only in the early morning , others come out late at night . Some Pokemon only come out on certain days . Either way , those itching to catch each and every Pokemon will enjoy this aspect of it . As I said before , Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have added some new things . The most important new thing however , is how much easier it is to trade Pokemon and battle with your friends . Using Wi-fi on the DS is far better than the various link cables or having to go out and buy the wireless adapter for the GBA . You can battle with people all across the world , and do other things as well , such as trade with them . Of course , in order to enjoy the full benefits of this you'll need the friend code to do it , and sometimes . In order to get the full experience of the online gaming world in Pokemon , you'll need to register friend codes . If you don't you can't enjoy some of the better perks , like being able to talk to a friend using the microphone of your DS as you battle . Still , the combat is enhanced greatly when playing online . If you don't want to play online you can easily connect to another DS and battle it out that way with your friend simply sitting in the room . Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are also full of little secret goodies . There are the legendary Pokemon , Pokemon contests , and of course , even after you've finished the main story there's more to be done . You can transfer Pokemon from your GBA versions by sticking it into the GBA slot of the DS . No matter how you slice it , Pokemon can easily keep you busy longer than several RPGs combined I wish I could say the graphics and sound are absolutely amazing , but they're really not . For as much fun as this game is , it's certainly not the best as far as graphics go . The same goes for the sound as well . Pokemon has never really been a game you go after for eye-candy , though . There are some moments where some 3D effects come out , but not very many . The sprites are more or less the same sprites they've been using since the Red and Blue versions . Ideally , the game doesn't look all that much of a step up from Ruby and Sapphire , and they were not fantastic looking games either . It's really colorful , but the DS is capable of so much more than this . Likewise , in battle is still as horrible as ever . Fun to do it , but the Pokemon still only flinch to attack , and there aren't a lot of animations going on , and we're still looking over the Pokemon's shoulder . Essentially , the combat engine hasn't changed since the series first outing in 1998 . There are some move animations that look really good , but aside from that it's hard to look passed the simple fact that the game's combat engine hasn't really evolved since the original games came out way back in 1998 . This isn't the original Gameboy , this is the Nintendo DS . The sound is also no exception . A lot of it sounds really tinny . There are some tunes that definitely sound Pokemon like , but again , it's using old technology on a system capable of a lot more . Most of the sound effects such as the Pokemon's cries are ripped straight from - - you guessed it - - the original Gameboy versions released in 1998 . That's not to say all the tunes sound bad , it's just to say that a lot of what you're going to hear is recycled . Despite the games graphics and sound , Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are still excellent games . There's a lot more depth here than people think , and a lot of stuff to keep you busy for a long time to come . Even those who are tired of the same simplistic plot and formula will find something great here . Pros : + Simple , yet addictive gameplay + Deep , strategic combat system + Touch screen controls make battling easier + Wi-fi connection works well + Over 100 new Pokemon join the roster + Simple storyline that anyone can understand + Being able to battle trainers all across the globe and being able to trade with them is fantastic + Game can keep you busy for hours with all there is to do , easily over 80 hours worth of gameplay Cons : - You can still only save one file - Graphics and sound are horribly outdated - The formula works , but there are bound to be gamers out there who are sick of the same old storyline

      • 004 4  I picked up this game today and it is everything a pokemon game should be : fun , intuitive , and addicting . The graphics hold to the classic 2D sprite style , adding a sense of nostalgia for us older Poke-fans , while incorporating some interesting 3D effects . The music is light and , hours into the game , has yet to become grating . A slew of new moves ( TMs alone number almost 100 ) , pokemon ( almost 500 ) , and items later , this chapter in the Pokemon line is full to bursting . They've even thrown in some extra side-quests of sorts . One of the big ones is the Underground , where players can participate in multi-player capture the flag games , dig for gems and fossils , or build their own secret base . However , don't expect much in the way of a story . You're still just a kid trainer trying to ( what do you know ) catch ' em all , beat ( you guessed it ) eight gym leaders , and conquer ( but of course ) the Elite Four . Not to mention having to uproot and put to an end Team [ - insert various theme - ] . In this case , Team Galactic . Ho hum . Admittedly this is nothing ground breaking , which is a disappointment , but the amalgamation and refinement of various features , from previous generations , into one makes for an overall satisfying experience . Despite the unchanged story arc , there are enough updates and refinements that justify picking this game up , and the heart of the game - an addictingly deep , varied , and well-balanced RPG / Stragety element - remains unbroken . If anything , it's only become more well-seasoned with age . For longstanding poke-fans , new recruits , and reverts , I highly recommend purchasing this game .
      • 006 4  Like putting on a comfortable old sweatshirt on a cold day , the new Pokemon games for the DS are warm and welcoming . Sure , the formula is the same we've had since the games first game , but the nuances like the more 3 - D towns , the additional Pokemon introduced in the game and other touches ( like the improvements on contests ) really build upon that formula and make it new again . I look forward to getting to the point in the game where I can pull my Pokemon from my older GB Advance games . That will really help to have more to chose from .
      • 008 4  This is the most satisfying pokemon game since the original red and blue . The story follows the same basic format as the other eleven handheld RPGs but for some reason it feels fresh . The Graphics have been enhanced to a phenomenal level The new starter pokemon are the best since red and blue There is a new crime syndicate out to make their mark ( Team Galactic ) And the DS allows for a unique experience ( but don't worry , if you don't want to use the touch screen you have the option to use the old fashion controls ) . Without a doubt , though , the best new feature is Nintendo Wi-Fi . You can battle friends in the same room or across the country . . . and you can trade pokemon in the GLOBAL market . No more having to force your friends at knife point to give up their starter pokemon , nope , now you can put up an offer and someone will respond to it . . . no matter where they happen to be in the world . What is the difference between Diamond and Pearl ? Not much . . . just the pokemon that you can find in the wild . Pokemon Exclusive to Diamond : Seel Dewgong Scyther Murkrow Scizor Larvitar Pupitar Tyranitar Poochyena Mightyena Aron Lairon Aggron Kecleon Cranidos Rampardos Honchkrow Stunky Skuntank Dialga Pokemon Exclusive Pearl : Slowpoke Slowbro Pinsir Slowking Misdreavus Houndour Houndoom Stantler Spheal Sealeo Walrein Bagon Shelgon Salamence Sheildon Bastiodon Mismagius Glameow Purugly Palkia There is no difference to the storyline , choice of characters , or anything else . So it really doesn't matter which version you pick it's going to be the same experience and you can always find the opposite versions exclusive pokemon on the global market . Buy this game , it is beyond awesome . Your DS experience will not be complete without a copy of this game . If you're a pokemon fan whether new or old you will love this version . . . even if you gave up on the series after Gold and Silver pick up a copy of Diamond / Pearl , it will drag you kicking and screaming back into pokemon fanmania .

      • 022 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) When I'm commuting , I like to play my Nintendo DS , and I bought this game hoping it brought back memories from playing on my old Gameboy Color . Well , it did . . and almost the same exact ones . It's just as fun to play as the old games , but really . . . and seriously . . . NOTHING has changed except the pokemon . No new graphics , no new technology , no new sound . I thought the Yellow version with the talking Pikachu was a breakthrough in technology , but this version went back a step . . . it doesn't even have talking in the game . It's the same old fun , and nothing new . Buy the game if you liked the old stuff . If you haven't tried the old games , buy it because it's addictive and fun .

      • 025 4  I got this game a year ago . While it only took me about a week to beat the Elite Four and become the champion of Sinnoh , I continued to play the game for months afterward . A high school senior at the time , I played my cartridge of Pokemon Pearl for ( according to the game log ) almost 400 hours . There's a TON to do in this game and it kept me busy and interested for all the 380 + hours I spent playing it . There are many , many different aspects to this game . As your ambitious pokemon trainer travels and trains their pokemon to be strong , they also meet and battle new and different trainers whose pokemon get stronger and harder to battle . All while challenging gym leaders , participating in super contests and thwarting the evil plans of Team Galactic . The game play seldom gets stale and there's always more pokemon to find and capture . One of the most rewarding aspects of the game is filling up your pokedex with all the species of pokemon you've caught . Pokemon games were fun for me when I started to play them when I was 8 and they're still fun for me at 18 .
      • 026 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I love this game . This game is by far the best and so is pokemon diamond

      • 033 4  Not much has changed over the various releases of Pokemon over the years . . . fight animations , backgrounds , color , etc . . This latest release brings dual screen support , WiFi play and some subtitle 3d animations , but as they say - if it ain't broke . . . Diamond and Pearl does everything that is Pokemon right . If you are absolutely sick of these games or never liked them to begin with , stay away - - there's no drastic changes to the formula . But if you are itching to play a new version on the great DS , or never put any time into a Pokemon game . . . what are you waiting for ? ? ? Grab one of these games now !
      • 041 4  I've played Pokemon since the games first appeared in America starting out with the old school , but still awesome , red version . And since then I have played most games , or at least one version of that generation of Pokemon . I've loved every single one , and have never gotten bored with them . And naive as I was I thought , perhaps , this game would be just as enjoyable as the others . I was mistaken . Though it did bring back memories of the older games , it lacked in many areas . I was most vexed when it came to the Pokemon themselves . They were either horribly grotesque , new models of the older species or one's that appeared as though a three year old had conceived them . There were a few cute or interesting one's spread through out , but they were very few in number . But there's more . It almost seemed like the game was more focused on all the new things you can do and the spiffy new gadgets . Trading with people across the world , Pokemon contests ( which I will note has been altered since the last game , and now features dancing as part of the rotuine . Why yes , yes I did say dancing as absurd as it sounds . ) , you can now go underground where you can not only build a secret base , but also dig for evolutions stones , jewels and fossils ( it's rather annoying if you ask me , having to find the evolution stones . There's no other way to do it unless you've beat the game and can get them from your other game boy advanced games . ) I'm sorry , but what happened to the old game where all you worried about was raising you Pokemon and beating both the gym leaders and elite four ? However , I will admit that the game did have some pluses . The gyms were more than just running in a beating the gym leader and some of his lackeys . They were puzzles that in some cases you had to think about . I've seen some reviewers stating that they disliked the new feature . However I did not . Also , I like the fact that you're not limited to which Pokemon you can get because you chose one game over another . Being able to trade worldwide is quite handy . As is being able to battle people around the globe once you defeat the elite four . And so I give this game a solid three . It was o.k . But seriously , the creators of Pokemon could have done so much better .
      • 045 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I never got into the Pokemon phenom before Diamond and Pearl . Somehow though , my seven yr old found out about them , and loved them . She waited anxiously for Diamond and Pearl and we went out and bought her Diamond right away . At one point she got stuck and asked me to help . Rolling my eyes and huffing and puffing , I took the DS from her . I started to play . Then I started to ask her questions . Then I didn't want to give the Nintendo BACK to her . In a few minutes , I was hooked ! ! I went out a few days later and bought another DS and Pearl . My husband chuckled at the Mom and Daughte duo comparing notes , and Pokemon . Well , she got stuck again , and since I was busy with my own Pokemon , she asked her dad . He huffed and puffed and took the DS to help . He started asking questions , he didn't want to give the DS back , and within days had his own copy of Diamond to play . ( although not his own ds ) . Great game , with great graphics and almost never ending list of things to do or find . Also a great way to bring the family together . Pokemon is the main topic in our house on most days . LOL

      • 048 4  Pearl is the latest installment in the Pokemon Franchise . It isn't as bad as the previous ones and has more to look forward to and tons of extras . There are many ' apps ' to obtain , from a berry app that lets you know your berries are ripe , to a step counter and even one that lets you view how your pokemon are in the daycare center . At least you can obtain many different kind of berries for free , from 3 people in 3 different towns . The graphics are not much better , but more so than previous games . It is fun to use the stylus to battle , find items in your ' bag ' and the like . At least on the bottom screen , one can ' click ' on the ' bag ' where said item is . That is a good improvement over the other way . I am very dissappointed with the Safari Zone or more properly put Safari Swamp - - thats right a swamp . Very hard to move around in it as you often get trapped up to your nose in a ' pit ' and not many rare pokemon in it as well . At least money isn't a problem , as there is a dueling pair that have a Chatot and a Roselia . With luck Incense or Amulet Coin on one of your Pokemon , one can literally rack up 24k each time you battle both . There are an occasion , walking through walls glitches , especially when coming out of the rooms from trading , chatting , etc . , in the poke centers . Between raising pokemon , the water starter is pitiful and remains so , berries , making poffins ( stirring a pot ! ! ! ) and having a single bike that can do the work of 2 , I find this game very entertaining . I caught a shiny Spinx on my first go out in the grass ! !
      • 051 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) My father pre-ordered me this game and it arrived one day before its release in stores . I was so excited when I got it , because I knew it would have to be more fun that previous games . One reason I like Pearl more than previous games is the fact that you can obtain literally almost any and every Pokémon in existence ( except for Event Pokémon or ones you must cheat for ) . Not only can you catch , trade or breed every new Pokémon , but you can now transfer any Pokémon from Ruby / Sapphire , Emerald and Leaf Green / Fire Red . This means that you can ultimately have Pokémon from every generation . I also love the wifi / wireless battling and trading . Now I can trade or fight my friends from my couch or at my lunch table . One thing that is a slight inconvenience is the way you must scroll through Pokétech applications . There are over 20 applications and no previous button , so if you want to go to the app right before the current one , you must click next 22 times . Probably one of the only things that makes this a four-star for me is the fact that you cannot do 4 - people wifi battles . You can have team battles with exactly 4 people if you are all near each other ( wireless ) but cannot in wifi . In wifi , all you can do is have a 2 - player double-battle . This is probably the significant flaw for me .

      • 055 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) This game is pretty fun .
      • 057 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Not gonna lie - it's the same game as the others , it just looks MUCH nicer . It's just as fun and I finished it in about the same time as the others too . Worth buying , playing , and reselling . : - )
      • 059 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) As a fan of the Pokemon game series , and of the DS Lite , I am glad to say that I gave Pearl five out of five stars . The gmaeplay includes features from older games , but updates on FR / LG like a new look ( and much easier controls ! ) for the battle system , a much better user interface , excellent use of the doublescreen , loads of applications include a clock , pokemon mood tracker , step counter , etc . , and battle-sprite animations . Not only is the look nicer , but there are plenty of new pokemon - most of which are also in Platinum - and longer gameplay after the Elite Four . The Champion is more challenging , and there are more interesting , long sidequests . If you have been playing since Gold , get Pearl . If you have never played Pokemon , you should still get Pearl .

      • 067 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) This game is really fun , even if you know next to nothing about Pokemon ! I started the game only knowing about a few Pokemon . Now , I have memorized all 493 ! In conclusion , this game is one of the best I have ever played ! • 071 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I found this game at a great price with super saver shipping , that said i didnt pay anything else just the exact amount shown in seller website , and that is a great plus for me , cuz i didnt have to spend in shipping or any tax and i was lookin for a deal like this , to not rely on an used one ; and also was specified like said on website . so im a happy costumer with this purchase ! ! I totally recommend it , plus fast shipping too ! and of the games it is a fun game mostly entertaining and of course rated for EVERYONE , but if you like pokemon is a hit ! enjoy !
      • 085 4  Well , I don't own Pokemon Pearl . But don't avoid this review ! I've played it before at my friend's house . It is fun ! Catch Pokemon and train them . In order to beat the game you beat the Elite Four . Fun : 5 out of 5 . It is fun ! Battle trainers to get badges ! Graphics : Er um . . . 3 out of 5 . Don't get me wrong ! The game's great but the graphics aren't great . . . But , hey when you battle the Pokemon are somewhat 3D ! If you liked Pearl or Pokemon try Diamond or the good old GBA versions .
      • 087 4  For starters , this game is definitely worth buying , there is no doubt about that . However , I can't help but compare it to Pokemon Emerald because that was my first Pokemon game , and because of that I am only giving it 4 stars ( not that that's bad ) . I also haven't FULLY beaten this game in the sense that I'm sure there are extra things to do after you've defeated the elite 4 ( which i just did ) . So I guess I've completed the storyline aspect of it , but there are some extra things I need to experience . PROS : * I really loved the new set of Pokemon due to it's variety . There were plenty of cute Pokemon , as well as cool ones and tough ones , etc . They also had some of the old classics that most of us love to see again . * The graphics were amazing and I honestly can't think of a way to improve them . It most certainly put the old games to shame in this regard . * Wireless connection . omg . . . I despise cords with a passion and being able to just jump into the union room and having all my friends appear in there made my life SO much easier . * Had a lot of new features that were very fun and creative . Like creating poffins for example . I found this to be much more enjoyable then Pokeblocks from the Sapphire / Ruby set . I also really enjoyed the underground area where you can make a secret base and find / plant spheres . * Aside from the Ice Gym , the little puzzles you had to complete before you could fight the actual Leader were all very fun , and at the perfect difficulty level . They weren't hard but they weren't outright easy either . They were set up so that you could complete it in a few minutes without much stress , and I feel that's the way it should be . CONS : * Not enough fire Pokemon ! It just seem very ridiculous to me that unless you pick the fire starting Pokemon ( Chimchar ) , the ONLY fire Pokemon you can get is Ponyta . Now , there may be more fire options after you've defeated the elite 4 that I don't know of , but if this is the case then it just seems a bit stupid to have all your fire Pokemon open up after you've completed most of the game . * Although the underground is very fun , I found it a bit annoying that your secret base starts out filled with rocks and you have to spend a bunch of unwanted time getting flags to destroy them . * Overall storyline . Don't get me wrong , I'm not saying it was bad . It just didn't compare in the slightest to the storyline from Emerald . Team Galactic , though a cool team in itself , didn't have the kind of personality I felt from team Magma and Aqua . I really liked that in a sense , they weren't completely bad guys . They just had a skewed idea on what would help the planet , and realized their mistake in the end . The Galactic leader however was just a very cliche bad guy overall , and honestly a bit boring . Also , all the issues that were presented to me were easily overcome and never seemed to stay very serious . So I was pretty disappointed in this aspect . * The game just seemed to be really short . I played Emerald non stop for months and am STILL playing it , and after only a few weeks I'm pretty much done with Pearl . * Once you beat a random trainer on the road , that's pretty much it . You CAN re-fight them , but you have to take like 1,000 steps or some crap before you can fight only ONE over again . That is just REALLY lame and far more trouble then it should be . OVERALL REVIEW : This game was very enjoyable and I am really glad I bought it . It was well worth the money ! However , because of my natural inclination to compare newer versions of a game with the older ones , this game was not as enjoyable as it could have been . There were many things that I loved from Emerald that Pearl was lacking , and it disappointed me greatly . Although there were also many new features that were quite fun , I didn't feel they completely made up for the losses . So because of that , I give this game 4 stars .
      • 091 4  Other than playing a few Pokemon games years agos , I've never really been into Pokemon . Not because it never interested me ( as I'm a level grinding fanatic ) , it's just I've always had a problem with buying two games just to ' catch ' em all ' . It seems wrong to me when the other game has very little to no changes in it that would warrant me getting it when one game would suffice . At any rate , I was compelled to get the new Pokemon game for the DS . I think it was more out of curiosity to see what Game Freak would produce on the DS . For the most part , I was pleased with the game . Pearl offers more of the same deep and addictive gameplay we've played in Pokemon all these years with just enough new monsters and things to do to keep me interested . It's easily the best Pokemon game yet . A game any DS owner should add to their library . However , even so , there were a few things I found fault in with the game . Due to technical limitations of the GameBoy , GameBoy Color & the GameBoy Advance ; I could understand why they resorted to keeping the game 2 - D with odd yelps and grunts for your Pokemon yet we now have a handheld that can produce full 3 - D and great audio so why have only the overworld map in 3 - D & not the battles and why keep the same odd yelps and grunts ? It's been proven a game like this can be done in 3 - D . . . just take a look at Dragon Quest Monsters-Joker . It would have been cool to see battles in a more Pokemon Stadium / Colosseum vein . 3 - D is the natural evolution of games like these . It wouldn't have to have been done quite like DQM-Joker to have its ' own unique style but 3 - D would've been nice . Second , why not add a little more story to the game to give me more incentive to play the game ? I love games with a good story . Thirdly , like I mentioned earlier - why two games when only one will work ? ? At any rate , Pokemon Pearl is a solid game worthy of your hard-earned buck if you can get past those minor quibbles . I did , at least . Maybe Game Freak will take the hint and make a good change with the next round of Pokemon games . You've got to keep things fresh to keep people interested . . . ; )
      • 092 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) While some may have dismissed the Pokemon craze as just a fad , it's still around and going strong after over a decade . Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl represent the most recent additions to the RPG line , and are the first non-spinoff addition to the game line for the Nintendo DS . The game plays very much the same as it does in any other Pokemon game . As a rookie trainer setting out of a small town , you've got a trio of goals : capture as many pokemon as possible , become the Pokemon League champion , and defeat an evil team who seeks to take over the world using Pokemon ( in this case , Team Galactic ) . The game provides a number of different outlets for potentially limitless gameplay . Even after you finish the main plot , you can catch more pokemon , rematch people you fought before , and enter your pokemon in a variety of different contests . In addition , as with the other games , you can trade or do battle with friends . The features of the DS give a few additional options . First , you can import pokemon from your old games . Second , for the first time in franchise history , you can go online to trade and battle with people across the world . Those features alone , as well as the delicious improved graphics and mini-games , make Diamond and Pearl the best of the Pokemon games to date . Just the main plot of the game can easily provide a person with 30 - 40 hours of fun . The Sinnoh region is the largest area of the franchise so far , and provides a lot of different options . Unfortunately , it can also provide some redundancy . When you've caught a good number of pokemon , random battles become somewhat redundant . Especially in caves , wild pokemon will attack every few feet , and they aren't worth the time it takes for the battle animations to play out . Additionally , the proliferation of other trainers can make the game feel like a grind when you've got a large area to cross before getting to the next town . Nonetheless , these are standard drawbacks of any Pokemon game , and they're easily ignored in favor of the fun the game offers . If you're a fan of Pokemon , buying this game is a no-brainer . It has everything that made the Gameboy franchise great , and improves on the formula with more options and online play . If you're new to the franchise , start here . The game is an excellent hand-held role-playing game , whether or not you're familiar with the rest of the franchise . It's easy to get addicted , and soon you'll find out why so many people have gotten into the world of Pokemon .

      • 095 4  I'll try to be short and sweet in my review . The Pros : Very long game , even after defeating the Elite4 and the Champion the game does not end , 4 different features or side quests open to keep exploring and catching new species of Pokemon . The WiFi feature enable to trade pokemon worldwide , there is also an undergound game where you dig for pokemon fossils , and special stones and crystals also via WiFi where you ccan set fun traps to other online players . Intresting and long story , many areas to cover and do and see more things more than before . Double battles with in-game trainers as your partners . Pokemon Contests : where you perform for audiences and judges , these have advanced and become more challenging than in Pokemon Sapphire and Pokemon Ruby . Should you win as grand master in all categories you'll have exclusive access to a new area . You don't have to catch them all to complete the Sinnoh region Pokedex . ( Finally ! ! ! ) ( I mean NOT all players are nice and want to trade ! ) . More strategic on contests and some battles . New evolutions for the normal Pokemon Eevee into ice and grass types ! The Cons : Certain pokemon can only be caught at certain times of the day or on a weekday , a feature that was used in GameBoy Color Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Gold . The Game Freak developers didn't take full advantage of the DS 3 dimensional capabilities for graphics , all Pokemon still look 2 dimensional and flat as well as the player . When exploring wild pokemon appear excesively , often after just taking no more than 4 steps , all the time on all wild areas including water . You cannot trade caught from Pokemon games Fire Red , Green Grass , Sapphire , Emerald and Ruby until you beat the Elite4 and the Champion . At some point one might HAVE to refer to a players'guide when you get stuck . Overall : Colorful graphics , highly entertaining , funny scenes with your rival ( who is more of a comtetive friend this time ) . Bouncy adecuate music , tons of new pokemon to catch.A must have for newbie and veteran Pokemon players young , and old like me !

So far my favorite thing to do is go under ground and search for stuff , and set traps for other people . • 098 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) From M . Sutton , 8 years , Lancaster , CA Pearl version features a large quantity of Pokemon . I think the Pokemon Pipulp is the best to start with . Of course , Turwig is a good choice to battle the gym leaders . Also Chimchar is the most popular . I think it is a hard choice between Pipulp , Turwig , and Chimchar . The reason I gave the game only four stars is because the game pretty hard . In the game you lose lots of money , when you lose a battle . And it takes a long time to get the Pokemon you want . Otherwise I would give this game five stars . Written by M . Sutton's Dad

      • 113 4  My teenager & I are both Pokeholics . We have done our best in this newest version to catch them all and thank heavens we have all the poke games that came before with the exception of one ( Pokemon Rangers ) . This game has been very flexible and fun to play . It really can be fun for all ages . My only wish is that there would be more special events by Nintendo / Pokemon in order to catch pokemon like Manaphy , since a lot of people can't make it to New York City or missed the 3 hour event they sponsored at a toy store ( and those are the only other ways other than completing Pokemon Ranger that you will be able to get Manaphy ) . This game provides many hours of entertainment for those who enjoy playing and the added GTS , and underground playtime are unique great fun touches as well .
      • 115 4  Pokemon Pearl is the newest pokemon game in the long running series that has been on every nintendo handheld since the game boy.In Pokemon you start off as a boy or girl and your job is to fill your pokedex ( a devise that records data on the pokemon you see and catch ) for professor rowen and become the pokemon league champion.Of course while stopping the evil team galactic form taking over the world . Adding all the great features form the past games like Day / Night Time , Double battles , National Pokedex , Pokemon Contests , and the Battle Tower . Plus adding some new ones like the underground where you can dig up fossils , stones , orbs and other useful idems to help you on your adventure , 100 some new pokemon , the Gobel Trade Center where over wi-fi connection you can trade pokemon with pokemon fans all over the world , plus online battles over wi-fi and use of the DS touch screen and michphone . There is so much to do in Pokemon Pearl that you will be playing for hours and hours after you beat the main part of the game. This is a must for pokemon fans .

Positives : * Gym battles are fun * Very colorful graphics , the town's 2D / 3D effect was very nice and the Pokemon sprites are good as they were in Ruby / Sapphire and Leaf Green / Fire Red * Cute Pokemon ( I was really happy about this - many of Ruby's / Sapphire's Pokemon looked a bit weird and deformed , but they changed that for Pearl / Diamond ) Negatives * Battles are fun in the beginning , but tedious after about 20 hours of playing this game * Even though there are new places and towns , it still feels like the same formulaic stuff that you've been seeing since Blue / Red versions This game is definitely overrated on this site . But at least I got my say in it ! 3.75 stars .

      • 135 4  I'm sorry to say , but this has got to be the least fun pokemon game i've ever played . After I get through the bad stuff tho , I will list some good stuff . So don't skip this review . The game is fun , but , personally I think the online aspect ruins it . You can get all sorts of stuff through trading that you usually won't be able to get too easily , and I find that a tad annoying . Plus , The dialogue is terrible . It's gotten extremely cheesy and at points i was shocked at how bad it is . The bad guy team in this game was also really annoying , and the fact that half the members of it didn't seem to have a clue what was going on didn't help . Theres also many new terrain types which are no fun at all , such as snow , fog , and swamps . Fog you can't see a darn thing when you're walking around , and the only way to clear it is to use an HM move . I don't like to have to remove my good attacks to put really weak HM attacks on my pokemon just to get further in the game , and this game seems to really emphasize HM's . The pokemon gyms have also turned into giant puzzles which take quite some time to figure out at times . While this is probably welcome for most people as it adds a new level of gameplay , I personally prefer the walk in the room and beat up the leader approach of older games gyms . But what really killed it for me is the lack of stuff to do after you beat the game . I love being able to continue playing a game after I beat it , and most pokemon games ( especially gold and silver ) have stuff to do afterwards . Pokemon Diamond and Pearl do have stuff , but it is incredibly boring . I continued playing for about 3 days after I beat it , and got bored and stopped . I managed to get over 100 hours of gameplay out of pokemon ruby after i beat the elite 4 . ( i had about 180 hours of gameplay before I started over , and it probably took 50 or less to beat the story mode ) If you don't mind this lack of fun after you beat the game , then by all means get it . And if the ability to get almost anything in the game online appeals to you , then , you should probably already have this game . But I found those parts to be annoying , so , It is my least favorite in the series .

    • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) After countless spin offs the real deal is here : Pokemon Diamond and Pearl .

      • 024 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I got this game a year ago .
      • 090 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Other than playing a few Pokemon games years agos , I've never really been into Pokemon . You've got to keep things fresh to keep people interested . . . ; )

    • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) For starters , this game is definitely worth buying , there is no doubt about that .
      • 009 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Like somebody mentioned before , this game is like a comfortable old sweater but how much merit does that really award this game is my question ? It's fun , no doubt about that , but it's almost too familiar . I feel that they're really capitalizing on the Don't fix what ain't broke school of thought here . If they keep making the same game over and over again this is eventually going to become somewhat of a Dragon Warrior 8 where I am just bored to tears by the same gameplay mechanics over and over . WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS GAME : It's fun and you will like it as a Pokemon fan or a new player to the series . WHAT MAY DISAPPOINT FANS OF THE SERIES : Same tinny music that's only increased marginally in quality since the first entries in to the series . Not much of a graphical update since the the gameboy advance . Only small changes and tweaks to the game mechanics . Still only one save spot . WHAT FANS AND NEW PLAYERS ALIKE WILL APPRECIATE : Wifi , if a handheld game ever screamed wifi then pokemon was definitely one of the loudest . Easily the best addition to the game . Along the lines of the wifi , having the use of a headset is also pretty useful and fun . New pokemon , duh . IN SUMMARY : I really can't knock this game too bad because ultimately it's really fun and it's nice to finally have Pokemon on my DS but I'm a little bitter because I feel they could have done SO much more with this game . I would rate the game itself probably a 3.5 / 5 if Amazon would let me but a 5 / 5 for fun . If you're looking for some drastically updated Pokemon game then I would pass on this title though .
      • 010 4  Like somebody mentioned before , this game is like a comfortable old sweater but how much merit does that really award this game is my question ? • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I picked up this game today and it is everything a pokemon game should be : fun , intuitive , and addicting .

      • 034 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I have been a Fan of the Pint-sized RPG since its beginning in the late 90 ' s on Gameboy . This games really sets the tone for an involved an enjoyable playing experience . With over 100 new pokemon , smooth animation , and several new TM's and HM's it is a great game that any pokemon fan , adult or child , will want in their collecton .

    • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I'll try to be short and sweet in my review .
      • 019 4  Bought it for my daughter who has just about every pokemon game made for GBA and DS and this is by far her favorite one . Its a little harder than the previous ones to get badges but she likes the challenges more .
      • 077 4  Now , I know what you will be thinking , I am thinking like Hannah Montana is better than Even Stevens , Kim Possible , and Rugrats . And that I don't understand traditional games like Ocarina of Time and Pokemon Red . I'm 18 , I was in that generation . However , I can't help but say that this game is truly amazing . The graphics are amazingly intense . I couldn't think you could make a better game than Pokemon Red / Blue / Gold / Silver . However the additional features , including the Global Trading , are what makes this game amazing ! I like the Team Galactic story doesn't focus on Team Rocket or anything too unoriginal . Then when I'm done , I can go to the other games , with the same DS with the GBA Slot , and expand on my 450 pokemon national dex . There was also the extra features after you beat the game to continue the story and then get even more legendary pokemon , that was amazing . Overall , I hate to say it , but this game is the best generation game . 5 out of 5 .

      • 103 4  this game is great if you liked the other pokemon games . new gadgets and pokemon make this game different and exciting !

    • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I've played Pokemon since the games first appeared in America starting out with the old school , but still awesome , red version .
      • 005 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Like putting on a comfortable old sweatshirt on a cold day , the new Pokemon games for the DS are warm and welcoming .
      • 007 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) This is the most satisfying pokemon game since the original red and blue .

      • 020 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Pokemon has always been one of my favorite games since I was a wee boy , but this Pokemon has a storyline that has truely transformed my opinion of the storylines of the games . The game has gone from saving the world from an evil organization bent on taking over the world or altering the world to an insane organization trying to destroy the world . The creation of the world is even issued here . For religious reasons , children might be confused by this game . However , the storyline is not all that has improved . The game's graphics have been drastically improved , including battle animations for each Pokemon , over 100 new species of Pokemon , bringing the total to 493 , an amazing cutscene , an improved Pokedex that lets you see different genders of Pokemon ( for that matter , the Pokemon differ in gender now ) , and lots of legendaries . With easy and fun compatability with the GBA Pokemon games and WiFi trading , this game makes it a little easier to catch all 493 . Some problems with the game is the WiFi trading itself . One issue with it is that nobody wants a free trade . In the original Pokemon , everybody wanted a Mew for a Ratatta . The same applies here , only on a global level . It is hard to come across a good trade , but they are able to be found and are extra-rewarding . One nice things about the early Japanese versions is that it has a critical glitch that allows you to surf through the door in the elite 4 , allowing you to go anywhere , including event locations . This means you won't have to wait for an event to happen , though in the American versions , you cannot do this . With WiFi , events should be easier to do on a worldwide level . This game is something that cannot be missed out on . With many new features , including Pal Park ( this is how you transfer Pokemon from previous games ) , the ability to catch most Pokemon in one version , WiFi trading , and touch-screen tools , Pokemon hasn't been more fun .
      • 031 4  Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Not much has changed over the various releases of Pokemon over the years . . . fight animations , backgrounds , color , etc .

      • 049 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I personally like this version of pokemon because not only do I use it to remove boredom , I also use it to talk to my friends around the world . I also use it to communicate with my girlfriend in a building where there is no signal for her cell phone . I use the voice chat feature in the game and we talk when we need to . The game itself is like any other pokemon game except this one adapts the old gba versions to complete the national pokedex . I haven't finished both versions yet but am striving to catch them all : )
      • 053 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) One of the better pokemon games available . Unfortunately not much variety of pokemon exist in this iteration of the game . A great story and lots of pokemon fun .
      • 063 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I love pokemon . Great game . Alot of fun and very addicting . I just wish they would make a game like this for the bigger systems . One that you can actually go and catch pokemon like on the TV show . Until they get smart enough to do that , I will continue to have fun with what they have out .
      • 065 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I like this game because of all of the special additions to it . it has time ( night + day ) certain pokemon appear at certain times and you get to go more places than the previous games.the only bad part is that the Elite Four are almost impossible !

      • 078 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I love this game . You get to battle a ton of pokemon and fill your pokedex . The hardest part was beating the snowpoint gym leader . This game has kept me busy for over a 1 month and I have not even beat all the gym leaders . I recommend buying the guide book to help you navigate through the Sinnoh region . I think this game is good for ages 4 to 10 .
      • 080 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) This game is super fun for pokemon fans . I think you should buy it so you can see how much fun the battles are . You are able to battle lots of pokemon . I think anyone 5 and older would love this game .
      • 082 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) This game is so fun ! It's not too challenging but it's not too easy either . There are tons of things to discover . Cheats are nice for this game but they are not absolutely necessary . You can get all kinds of things in this game and catch all different kinds of Pokemon and it's not hard to fill up your Pokedex .
      • 084 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Well , I don't own Pokemon Pearl .
      • 088 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Its a great game that is so fun i won almost the whole game so buy pearl instead of dimond cause the legendary in pearl is so much stronger and better than the one in dimond so get this ds game and have as much fun as i did and yeah i almost forgot if i were you i would pick the leaf pokemon i know at the beginig it is not good but later on it will be the most powerful pokemon and will be unstopable so please take this fantastic advice and please do so to win the game ok ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

      • 111 4  Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this ? ) This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) My teenager & I are both Pokeholics .

Berry system is improved greatly . A few pokemon you need diamond for but not too many . Overall I love this game . I am very happy with it !

    • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) ok , this game is AWSOME sure , it has the same formula and bla bla bla but its a great game people say the graphics are ok , but once you play it you will think ruby , saphire , fire red , leaf green and emerald are all bad you will never go back to those versions the graphics to me are amazing , they mixed a 2d world with a 3d world . when you walk into town all the buildings pop out of the screen , the windmill place is one of the best examples . then they included a other regoin that is supposed to be under sinnoh ( the region you are in ) called the underground this is where you get your secret base and evolution stons and fossils , ect . . . . it is a lot better then prevous games it has a good replay so if you get bored ( i dont see how ) you could start over this game is just AWSOME

    • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Okay , well , I got this game because I am a Pokemon die-hard and I love the collecting / strategy / cute / etc . aspects of this game . I loved Sapphire / Ruby and Crystal / Silver / Gold , they all had good plots that didn't stray from the formula but still entertained . I didn't ever have a game boy color , so , my loss , but that's really beside the point . ANYWAYS This game is the first DS pokemon game that Nintendo has released . I am therefore forced to go easy on it . I have to attribute the repetitive scenery and unoriginal Pokemon to the newness of the technology . * cough * yeah right * cough * . I just really got sick of seeing the same old same old bird / fish / other common animal Pokemon , and , HELLO , newer technology does not mean that you have to make the legendary Pokemon look like a dinosaur robot ! I mean jeeze ! I really preferred Lugia and Hoho . They looked sweet and somewhat believable and more , um , * ahem * LEGENDARY . My advice to Nintendo is to look elsewhere for Pokemon models , because wherever you're currently getting them from is really not aesthetically appealing . I also thought the elite four were too easy , The first part of the game was not nearly long enough and I MISS SECRET BASES . They were so much fun , please bring them back Nintendo . I mean this game had them I guess , but they were underground , so the only model you had was like a rock cave , and you had to clear rocks out and stuff . NO fun . I still recommend this game to basically anyone because there are also many positives . I just tend to pick out the negatives . Anyways , it's still really addicting because there are so few Pokemon , you feel like you're always just one step away from completing your pokedex . I don't like transporting older Pokemon from GBA cartridges . It's just really cheap somehow . Too easy almost . And the new animations for the old Pokemon are dumb . They looked deformed , so if you're married to the way your Milotic looks , the one that took you hours to find in Sapphire , DON'T transfer it . I think the designers at Nintendo should make everything in the game look less block-y and more defined . Once again , vary up the scenery PLEASE . That's one of the main things i liked about ruby / sapphire , you felt like you were on an actual adventure because everything looked adventurey , if that makes any sense . Personally , I preferred the older games , but this one is still fun . / shrug . I am confident that the future of Pokemon games is not hopeless . I will continue to buy and play them faithfully . You just need to play this for yourself and I'm telling you this so my negative review doesn't turn you off to these recent pokemon games . Some things I hate others may love , so I don't know . You should decide for yourself .

      • 137 4  Game has a lot more content added since previous games . You could literally play this game for months . Berry system is improved greatly . You can get various apps to help throughout game ( Berry locator , item locator , clock , step counter , one that says if ure pokemon like you and so on ) Lots more pokemon added in . A few pokemon you need diamond for but not too many . Overall I love this game . I am very happy with it !

    • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) Pearl is the latest installment in the Pokemon Franchise . !
      • 011 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I bought my daughter the nintendo ds lite with the pokemon diamond version , unfortunately , not to many people in our country share the pasion for potable video games , so i bought a nintendo ds lite and pokemon pearl for me , now we sare at least 2 hours a day of game play , and she has never been so happy . I recommend parents to do the same , let your child take you to their world and learn about pokemon , you wont regret it .

      • 050 4  I personally like this version of pokemon because not only do I use it to remove boredom , I also use it to talk to my friends around the world . I also use it to communicate with my girlfriend in a building where there is no signal for her cell phone . I use the voice chat feature in the game and we talk when we need to . The game itself is like any other pokemon game except this one adapts the old gba versions to complete the national pokedex . I haven't finished both versions yet but am striving to catch them all : )
      • 120 4  This review is from : Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) I gave my kid this game as a present on Christmas time and he just went nuts when he received it . It has given my son many hours of pleasure and fun . Very well recommended to kids under 12 .

      • 166 4  This game is for Nintendo DS . However , in the Amazon site I searched for Pokeman Pearl for Gameboy Advanced and that is what came up . Assuming that since I search for a gameboy game I purchased the game . Come Christmas morning my children quickly informed me that Santa had gotten the wrong game . I will now try to return it for a refund .

    • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) This game has all of the fun of the original Pokemon Red and Blue , while adding some of the features that worked in the last few games , and taking out some of the things that didn't . At other times things have been simplified , or made better through the use of the Pokeatch in game . If you like pokemon at all , get this game . 。

      • 151 4  Pokemon is bigger and better , is a must have for DS owners

    • Pokemon Pearl Version ( Video Game ) When Red and Blue came out 10 + years ago , it was THE GAME to have . It was awesome . Since then , Pokemon games have been not nearly as good as the original ( probably since they took out the cheats and glitches = ] ) . This is easily better than Red and Blue . This game is absolutely phenomenal . I thought this would be just a retarded game worth laughing at . It's much better . I would be willing to pay $50 - $60 for it .
