016 4 Pokemon Blue is a pretty addictive game at first , but after you catch the first 60 Pokemons , the routine is the same and it gets pretty boring . For starters , I recommend Pokemon Yellow even though it's much harder to find . Other than the game being boring after you play it a while , it really is a good overall game , and the use of the link cable is another plus . WARNING - For parents that don't want their kids to get hooked up on cards ( if they all ready aren't ) I suggest that this isn't the game for you . So if you are looking for a fun portable game , you just might have found the one .
152 4 This is anoter one of my favorite games . Yellow is my favorite but this is cool to . Don't by Gold , Silver , and Krystal because
the new pokemon they just made [ STINK ] . They made a Golbat evolve
when it really doesn , t . I think you should stick to Red , Blue , and
Yellow .
229 4 Pros ;
It works
Con ;
Small corny graphics
There is no action whatsoever ( it's more like a little maze game )
When they ask if you would like to battle in the arena it dosen't work
Just dumb !
Overview ;
Piece of ' ' okay ' '
DO NOT get the other games like the red version or gold version because I have played them and they all STINK !
242 4 This game is so oold you can't even get the graphics !
I suggets that if you didn't play this game but you all ready played ruby / sappire you will hate this game . I say wait for fire red and leaf green 2 come out it's the same thing but the graphics are alot better .
060 4 I think this is a really good game . It is like the other pokemon games if you've ever played them , and it is really cool getting new pokemon and battling opponets . However , unless you're really farmiliar with the pokemon world , and other pokemond games , you NEED to get the guidebook , or else you will have no idea what you are doing !
039 4 I enjoyed playing this game , it was fun catching all the different types but it took a whole lot of time . But for those who have time I recommend this game .
064 4 which ever corner you turn there is a new change in life new skill's to learn and information to remember you will also have new chalenges to face big or small and new pokemon to capture on the way to become the most powerful pokemon trainer in the world
163 4 Pokémon blue has to be the best game ever even though I also have a pc , since I bought the game I've hardly played the pc . with what I call the best graphics a gameboy could have , the multiplayer option is brilliant as well . so if you're wondering which gameboy game to get I say GET IT !
091 4 The cartoon for Pokemon is quite kid oriented , especially the movies . If you took all the movies away , the cartoon , the card game , Pokemon Puzzle League , and all of those other items that have turned Pokemon into a childrens icon you would be left with a great game . The game is very long . I have played this game for 48 hours and have not beaten it yet . I got it in early 1999 and it is now March 2002 and I am still playing it . You may say this is from lack of interest in the game but the truth is I have spent much of my free time playing this game . If you have not already checked this game out I would not suggest you buy it . I would suggest you buy the new games , Gold and Silver . Gold and Silver are true sequels to the game . They improve on much of the game and while adding on a new map to the game they include the old one which is on this game . This game rocks . ( If you like this game try the N64 Zelda games . )
021 4 If you overlook this game because you think it is kiddie then you are missing out on a great RPG adventure . Go ahead , bite the bullet and play .
033 4 I'm not much of a pokemon fan , but the Game Boy game is awesome ! You can catch 50 different kinds of Pokemon , battle other trainers , and do all sorts of things on the Pokemon Game Boy games . I wouldn't recomend you get all three games because they're all basically the same .
047 4 If you want a quick 5 minute game , play Tetris . If you want to get involved in a really good GameBoy game , play Pokemon .
153 4 This game is great ! ! ! You would think if red and blue were the same you would think gold sliver would be the same ? Blue in some places you catch other pokemon that you don't have ? I know that the first version you get you don't expect what's coming toward you . You should buy this game because it's A first start and A heads up on what's coming . Some people who just started should be proud of winning their first badge because they know how the gym leaders train their pokemon now . Some pepole are even prouder to win their second badge against Misty . Misty will use a staryu at L18 and A starmie at L20 . If you watch Pokemon then it will be a good heads up .
097 4 this game was extremely exiting . It is fun to see the charctors moves and strategy is key . the types of monsters have advantages and disadvantages against one another and the three basic types Fire , Water And plant are offered to you by your best friends grandpa in the form of the cute sqirtle bulbasaur or charmander , and the favorites from the tv show ( pikachu , charizard ) are within reach so that your child has a favorite charector on his team .
019 4 This game may take a while for people to learn that haven't played RPG's ( Role playing games ) before . It is very enjoyable . It is a good idea to take this on trips .
207 4 This game is awesome when you choose your Pokemon at the beginning but it gets boring later . It's cool fighting the trainers , but you can only fight them once ( except for the Elite Four . ) This game starts off as a best-seller , and drops down to an instant 0 in seconds !
105 4 Pokemon Blue is an extraordinary piece of work , undoubtedly the best Game Boy game I have ever played since Gator's Revenge . Knowing that this was a game intended for the younger crowd , I asked my friend if I could borrow it and couldn't put it down . No matter which character you play , you just can't resist the temptation to walk through the high grass so that you may fight a wild Pokemon and capture it . Striving to become the Pokemon Master . I believe that Pokemon Blue is , and will be the best Game Boy game that I have ever played , until Pokemon Gold and Silver come out .
062 4 Pokemon Blue is one of the best games I have ever played on Game Boy . It ; s challenging , but the puzzles can be solved . Also , the Pokemon are very cute .
072 4 Pokemon Blue is a very good game to play at anytime . The unqiue part of Pokemon Blue is that it is a adventrous game . You play as a boy to capture pokemon and battle trainers . You have to trade pokemon with your best friend . These excellent features made kids love Blue ! ! They want to trade and collect pokemon ! ! Nintendo made this game , and we should give a great thankyou to Game freak and Nintendo for making this game ! ! ! ! THANKS ! ! ! ! ! !
107 4 This is truly the best game for gameboy. This isn't the type of game you pass once and then you are tired of it , if you finish this game you are going to want to start over again , I've passed the game two times and I'm going for my third . this game also has some educational value because a big part of this game has to do with money . so if you are going to buy a game for gameboy don't think Mario , think Pokemon Blue !
112 4 Pokemon Blue sets itself apart from other video games because it has a plot , and it can be saved . It is a really fun game , and it is easy to become obsessed with playing it . However , the graphics are pretty dismal and it gets boring after a while . I recommend you get Pokemon Silver or Gold instead .
111 4 Pokemon red , and Blue is the bomb . This a must have for any Pokemon collections . There are 150 Pokemon plus a secret psycic one called Mew and a glitch and a whole bunch of cheats . I give it a 6 / 5
180 4 Pokemon Blue . . . the start of the craze . But really , blue can be better than Gold sometimes , but much better than silver !
116 4 When I got this game I played and played and played . I could not stop . And when I got the players guide it was even more fun . The idea is to go from gym to gym getting badges and when you have all 8 you can finish catching all 150 pokemon . I myself have a pokedex of 127 . It may not be educational but it is fun for kids . I don't think adults would get into this game .
020 4 It is the best game I ever played .
043 4 This game is great ! The graphics are awesome and there are tons of Pokemon ! It is pretty hard but fun !
211 4 This is fun and you could never find a better game . . . when you buy it and start playing it you fall into a void like nothing is more important than the game . . but Once you beat it and get all 150 Pokemon . . you can try diffrent ways to get Mew like I have been doing . . . None of them work most of the time but it is worth it !
122 4 Well If you like a simple game that can keep you on all day well then this game is for you ! I got this game in kindergarden and ever since I LOVED this game ! I'd come home from school every day and play it forever [ yet I got to play my friend's Red Versiom every day on the bus . ] In 2nd grade i did the Missingno . trick and no one knew it and I was the champ ! My PKMN were at level 200 [ ! ] and I kicked my Friends mewtwo's butt ! Get now ! You'll love having Missingno . !
093 4 This type of RPG was easy to master , because at the start of the game , I chose Bulbasaur for this type of match . I used him in the first 2 stages of the game , but sometimes the rest of the game . Whenever you use a fire-type attack on an ice / water type , it will either say It's super effective or It's not very effective Otherwise , this game's a blast to play , with 150 different pokemon characters to choose from . Go buy them both . You'll need them to link up to Gold / Silver .
214 4 I first got into Pokemon at the end of 5th grade . I bought the Pokemon blue version and thought it was the coolest videogame ever ! But then I entered into Middle School and soon the Pokemon craze faded away . I now think their just stupid and pointless . Don't buy this game if your about to go into middle school . You'll soon findout that their just a little kid thing .
123 4 This game is GREAT . You want to catch as many pokemon as you can . You start out with Bulbasaur , Charmander , or Squirtle . When you beat people your pokemon you beat them with gets stronger . Soon it will learn new attacks . There are 8 bosses called gym leaders . When you beat those people there are 5 more people which are the strongest people in the game . If you beat them you beat the game . The music is cool and it changes when you go different places . This game gives you puzzles to solve and many people to beat . This game also lets you battle another person that has pokemon red , blue , or yellow . Each game has different pokemon . What red doesn't have , blue has . What blue doesn't have , red has . Yellow is just when you start out with a pikachu . It will follow you everywhere .
002 4 Most game boy games are just about having quick reflexes or shooting bad guys , but in this game , you have to use strategy . Its really great when you catch a new pokemon or defeat a gym leader . If any parents are reading this review and have read that newspaper article about this game being really vicious and all about using pokemon to fight - don't you believe it ! If this game is vicious then so is chess ! The game has other things in it as well - it teaches that if you want something then you have to work towards it . Also , some pokemon are really weak when you catch them , but they get incredebly strong when you train them hard enough - there's probably a moral in that somewhere .
126 4 I really liked this game . From the first time I turned it on up to now , I found it really interesting. The only problem with my BLUE version is there is a Team Rocket member blocking the way to Saffron Gym ! I also hate that Snorlax blocking the Cycling Road on Celadon City ! But overall , this is a very great and addictive game . If only I could give it a billion stars . . .
037 4 I have both red and blue and theres practicly no diff . its just in the pokemon and you really dont care because you can just trade a poke only in red for a poke only in blue . I reccomend this games to kids who are very patient or have a strategy guide because you get stuck in the game lots of times and dont know what to do .
095 4 I think pokemon blue is cool.like in the red vertion you get to choose between three starting pokemon : bulbasaur , squirtle , and charmander [ I usally pick charmander ] . I think pokemon blue is better then pokemon red because you can get all my favorite pokemon [ pikachu , meowth , psyduck , charizard , ratata , butterfree , and mewtwo ] . its really cool try it .
173 4 This game requires many different game tactics , strategy , codes . The game is fun and extremely entertaining . I reccomend this game to everyone that asks . Good Luck !
245 4 I am a girl . Get this I buy this stupid crap and I have to play as a dumb boy ! That is why I luv the new versions
130 4 This is the same person that reviewed the Red Version first ! ! You know , the guy from Ocala , FL ? Anyway , this game is almost as much fun as the Red Version , it's just a whole lot simpler . But , don't get me wrong , it's still a bunch of fun ! For Pokemon Trainers that are just getting started with the Pokemon game , get this game to start of with so that you get the idea of the game and get the idea with not that much effort . Then , when you finnish the Blue Version , you shall be ready for the Red Version ! Have fun !
083 4 This is a really good game except for you can't catch every single Poke'mon . Otherwise , it's tons of fun to play again and again .
161 4 Cool game ! Catching them is fun , winning badges is fun , and beating the elite four is fun ! There's only one problem with the game , Your eyes may hurt from constant playing .
146 4 I've had this game for years , and it's still fun even after playing the Advanced games . Sure , the graphics are prehistoric , but the heart of the game is fun . On the suface , it doesn't look like there's much to do ; after you beat the Pokemon league there really aren't any more goals besides getting all 150 .
But there are all kinds of really cool glitches , like the Missingno . glitch and Glitch City . That , in my opinion , is the funnest part of the game . There's also a glitch that lets you get Mew !
That's really all there is to it . Fun game , crazy glitches , and tons of Pokemon !
089 4 Great addition to your Pokemon collection of games filled with hours of fun
Can be played on the Gameboy Advance and Gameboy Color
Enjoy !
224 4 This game is fun but not very much of an objective , all you have to do is beat the champion in the indigo plataue and catch em all but thats it , get yellow because you always have to make your pikachu happy theres a lot more to it but if you want to get this get it , its not a bad game it just doesnt have much replay value .
243 4 Basically to make a long story short tthis game is nothing but bad . enjoy your pokemonless day .
154 4 If you are considering any purchase from the pokemon gameboy series , I say go for it . Many people claim that it is a kids game . But it is not at all . In fact it is one of the most complex games I have ever played ( the only game I have EVER had to buy a strategy guide for ) . Also , for all the pokemon is a kids game sayers I will comment that it's not the game thats for kids . It's the merchandising ( breakfast cereal , various toys , etc ) The game itself is a very challenging Role Playing game in which your goal is to capture all 150 + pokemon and battle various trainers who are also trying to capture all 150 types . To capture all the pokemon you will have to journy to certain areas of the game and use various strategies to capture them . If you want that type of game - - go for it . Don't let the neo-geeks out there sway your opinion ( they are just those types of people who hate things because they are popular )
051 4 In the game , a boy named Ash ( YOU ) starts out with a pokemon that he recieves from his grandfather . His cousin , Gary also receives one . Gary is Ash's chief rival . Throughout the game , Ash and Gary compete with each other in trying to get the most pokemon , gym badges and being the first to reach the Pokemon League . Ash must defeat 8 pokemon gym leaders for badges . Ash must defeat other trainers and must catch and evolve Pokemon to fight with . ( There are 150 U.S . pokemon in all , you can catch 139 in each game , you must trade to get the other 11 . ) Pokemon evolve at certain levels and learn attacks at certain levels . Some attacks only work on certain pokemon , so you must memorize which attacks work on which Pokemon . The game is quite durable and comes in a handy plastic case . The game pokemon is an awesome game and I recommend it for all ages .
103 4 At the beginning of the game , you will get an encyclopedia called at Pokedex . Your goal in this game is to catch all 150 pokemon . In this version ( blue ) you can catch up to 132 , the rest of the pokemon are in the red version . You will have to trade pokemon with your friends to get all 150 . I think this game was really fun , not very hard , but not very easy . I play it alot , and still enjoy it .
165 4 I think that this game is very challenging . There are times when you get stuck and have no clue what to do . This game is also verry addictive , and parents , if you get this game for your children , you are probably going to end up seeing Pokemon cards and toys all over the place ( if you don't already ) . So , if you are looking for a challenging , addictive and fun game , this is the one . I wouldn't put anything in front of it .
202 4 Overall , Pokemon games are great ! Blue is not one to be counted out . But , I think that newer versions like Gold , Silver , Ruby , Sapphire , and Emerald ( All of those I have ) are obviously better . They have more color , Pokemon , better graphics , and more things to do . Still , Blue ( and red and yellow of course ) has its own things that other versions don't have like the type of pokemon centers , the people in and pokemon used by the elite four , and more . Its also the original and its old , so soon , I bet they won't sell it any more . So all the versions are good in their own way .
184 4 The game is the bomb ! It is a lot of fun and you feel a sense of accopmlishment when you get a pokemon to a really high level and it's final form , or when you get a secret and beat the game . It is time consuming , but worth it . Especially when you fight another person through the cable link and you practically murder him / her ! It is a fun game and if on a scale , 1 - 10 , 10 being the best , I'd give it 11 !
118 4 i think this game is pretty cool i like catching and raising pokemon i especialy like it when the pokemon evolve i think the only thing wrong is that it is not real enough i mean its like kind of boring when you have the battles beacause all it does is tells what there doing i would recomend pokemon yellow .
227 4 Nintendo's greatest masterpiece of all time . It is even educational because it teaches you about evolution . Your kids will love it
213 4 I like Pokemon stuff like the movie , and card game ( which by the way is excellant ) . But the game itself is not that great. The battles get very repetitive compared to other RPGs and the different Pokemon don't really have any unique abilities ( unlike the FF series ) , For instance all the electric ones have basically the exact moves so even though theres 151 pokemon , the only significant differance is the appearance.I'd rather have 10 unique characters than 151 that are essentially the same. After I got about55 pokemon I lost interest in the game because there is not enough variety in the characters or game play. Also its anoying how nintendo made all the differant versions and the link cable nessisary to catch em all.I've completed at least 15 RPGs and I must say this is the most monotenous one.The battles are not challenging and require minimal strategy. The game does have some charm however ( Pikachu is so cute ! ( spare me ! ) ) and the idea for the game is very sound but the sub-par execution and overall bland gameplay turned me off . Anyway , its an ok game by gameboy standards but if you're looking for RPGs look to other games and other systems like Playstation and PC .
085 4 My 8 - year-old's favorite game series . And if you're worried about video game time taking away from reading time , make sure you get your kid ( s ) into roleplaying games . That way , they get both . . . and though Pokemon won't solve it all . . . you'll never have to nag them to go play Pokemon !
Pokemon - Blue Version ( Game Cartridge )

By far , one of the best GameBoy games ever in America . In this game , the point is to capture and train 150 various monsters in order to become the best Pokemon Master . In this version there are 10 different Pokemon than the Red Version , but this one is defenitely one of the best . You will have a rival which you may name , not to mention you can choose from three different Pokemon at the beggining of the game . A must BUY , click on that ADD TO CART space now !

I was wary of Pokemania for the longest time . . . but it got to me as well , and how ! I'm a 21year-old gamer , I play mostly RPG's , and this game just rocks . It's the quirkiest , most offbeat , and simply * FUN * RPG's I've played in my life , and I recommend it to anyone with an open mind and a hefty slice of time to devote to this . It defies age difference , and that is enough praise on its own merits . I can say no more than this : it's fun , it's good clean fun , it really is : no guts , no gore , it's pure addictive gameplay . ( Plus , it's * PORTABLE * ! ; )

I have all 151 pokemon on my blue version game and i think that the game was very fun . every time i got past the elite four and got 151 pokemon than i would start a new game . i think that this game is one of the best of all time .

My kids saved their money for 6 months to but both a color gameboy ( in Kiwi green ) and the yellow version of Pokemon . Since they had to share ( can't save more than one game ) , I bought the blue version myself .
It's terrible how I can pick it up at 10pm after the last good show ends then look up and it's 11 : 30 ! Very addictive . But I enjoy talking to my kids about the Pokemon I've caught and which one has evolved and what powers they have .
Plays very much like Dungeons and Dragons in a video-game no-death sanitized way . More like the Rogue or Larn games of days gone by , but with graphics .

Yes , I bought this game and I liked it very much . It teaches about earning money so you could buy what you need and not only what you want . It is very fun to play and in a way is educational . But it takes a lot of time , it took me about 3 weeks to finish the whole game !

It's true that Pokemon is pretty much a passing craze due to ( for some odd reason ) the invention of TOO MANY POKEMON ! However , this game is amazing . The graphics , attack animations , and sounds are very simple compared to later installments of the series , but who cares ? At the time , this was like nothing anyone had ever played ! The music is extremely catchy , and there are so many things to collect , you'll just find yourself playing for hours . Also , you can trade Pokemon from other people since the Red and Blue versions have Pokemon exclusive to that version . Also , if you feel the need to catch ' em all , trade starters , or evolve certain Pokemon with a trade . The bottom line : it's a great guilty pleasure and introduced what is now the most faded franchise ever !

Pokemon blue is hands down the best pokemon game along with red and yellow chiefly because they are the origanals , they do not mess around with all the technical crap of colour graphics etc etc they concentrate on the game playability and fun . it is great to pay over and over you can loose yourself in the game . i would 100% recommend this game to anybody who likes pokemon or just anyone who loves gaming ! !

This is the Game thate started the whole pokemon craze. It is an original gamepak and as they say ' The original is always best ' . The game is a monochrome game. When you turn on your system the game has a very impressive introduction. When you get absorbed in the game it can get very frustrating. This is a game for 12 plus ages. The game is very exciting but when you have played it it does get boring. There are only 139 pokemon whitch are avalible and you have to connect two gameboys to each other to get 150 and this is a pain because i dont know anyone with a gameboy .

it is a geme tipe of rpg that makes you play it contineously by hours and hours , for example , I have 65 hours playing and I have all the badges , and aproximately 98 pokemon of 140 . . . if you like rpg titles , this is the best .

Pokémon has to be one of the greatest , no , the best game out there for Game Boy . I found it hard to believe that it was made for original GB and not GBC . Anyway , this game has very good qualities and should be played by everyone of all ages .

This is the same person that reviewed the Red Version first ! Have fun !

I've had this game for years , and it's still fun even after playing the Advanced games .

I think the most fun part of this game is the challenge . The object is to collect all 152 Pokemon and defeat all the gym trainers , the elite four and Gary , your rival . The most fun part of the game is the knowing YOU did something .

Cool game ! Catching them is fun , winning badges is fun , and beating the elite four is fun ! There's only one problem with the game , Your eyes may hurt from constant playing .

I think that this game is very challenging .

It took me 24 fun filled hours to get 150 pokemon . It was the best gameboy game I ever have played. My favorite part was the unknown dungeon . I liked to catch all those monsters ! Overall I thought the game was great .

I've tried almost every single game you can buy for my gameboy , and this is by far the best . All the Pokemon are cute , with their own separate calls types . You learn responsiblity , and really want to work to be the best you can ! It keeps challanging you , and you don't mind replay at all ! By the way , I LOVE MY BLASTOISE ! END

The game Pokemon Blue is an awesome game that all parents don't mind letting their kids have.It is hard to a point but you can still figure out how to do this or catch that . Also you can enjoy playing with other people via Link Cable . That's the funnest thing to do in my opinion . So this game is really a good game to have . ( You can also carry it wherever you want to go ) .

The game is the bomb !

However , when i received the game and put it into my game system it turns on but u can't start a new game or Talk to anyone . I don't know what would cause this but either the game is defaulty or something is up . Won't be buying this online unless its from a game dealer .

This game in my point of view , is better than the latest ones , Mainly because it was new and it was less tedious . The music is repetitive and annoying , but that is what the volume control's for . After you beat the elite four it gets less fun but being sort of OCD about getting every last unlockable in the game I don't really mind that much . I think anyone under 13 would like this game .

Overall , Pokemon games are great !

When i was lets say 6 i started playing the game .
I beat the game .
I made a new file and beat the game again ( not to mention i didnt need any help and i couldnt read ) .
Then i bought blue and beat it .
Then when yellow came out i beat it about 10 times . . . . at least 1k hours of use
if ur wondering what 1k means it means 1000 .

I like Pokemon stuff like the movie , and card game ( which by the way is excellant ) .

When you begin the game it's fun , but the further you get into the game the worse it gets . First you waste bucks on the game . Then you find out that you have to buy a cable link to get 150 pokemon . Then you buy game shark to get all the really strong pokemon . Instead of having to buy one thing to play a game , you buy three things .

Many people say that Pokemon is the Best Game Ever . Well , sadly , it isn't . The basic game is to easy , and is sometimes boring , with pokemon constantly jumping out at you . Also the main point of the game is dumb , the only point is to ' Catch and Battle Pokemon . ' If your a skiled gamer , the game is short , but if you are inexperienced , the game is long . Overall , if you are the kind of person that can get caught up in a stupid , dumb game like this , go ahead and buy it . But if you have any sence at all , you should steer clear of this game

How can anyone wanna buy these mindless games . Pokemon is the worst thing ever . Waste time and money on stupid games and ugly toys . Brainwashed hello ? ? . Stay away from Pokemon and don't ever talk about it again . Pokemon makes you stupid and people who don't understand that should be locked away , far away from anything human wise . Down with pokemon for me anyway .

In this game , you play as a boy collecting and battling creatures called Pok'emon . There are plenty of worlds to explore , Pok'emon to catch , rivals to battle , badges to earn , and items to find to keep you playing for a long time . It's one of those games that you can't beat in a day . Training Pok'emon can be fun , and also hard , depending on the level of your opponents . You earn money each time you beat another Pok'emon trainer , which you can use to buy items to strengthen or catch Pok'emon . The moves you teach your Pok'emon and what attacks you use require strategy , so it's not just random moves and thoughts .
My only complaint is that this game is almost unbeatable . To win , you have to collect all the Pok'emon in the game , which is just a few tens short of 200 , if I remember correctly . A bunch of things are required to do this . You must have two Game Boys and two Pok'emon games , or a friend who also has a Game Boy and Pok'emon game to trade with each other , because there are some points in the game where you must choose between one Pok'emon or another , and whichever one you don't choose is impossible to get again in the same game . Also required is a Game Boy link cable , which you need to attach two Game Boys to trade .
So basically , it's going to be very , very , very hard to win , especially because everyone is past the Pok'emon phase . So unless you have multiple Game Boys and Pok'emon games , and a link cable , you're going to have tons of trouble beating the game . I think the people who made this game purposely made the game this way so that kids would have to spend more money on Game Boy supplies .
Overall , I still like this game . I know I'll never beat it , but it's still a lot of fun . I can't say who I would and wouldn't recommend this game to , so I'll leave it up to you . Either way , I hope you're satisfied in the end .

My kids and I all love the Pokemon Gameboys ( the three of us each have our own Gameboy ) . The blue Pokemon game is very similar to the red , with the Yellow having some slight differences .
I like the way the Pokemon game challenges kids . I suggest also buying one of the books which shows the various routes and places . This allows kids to work at the tasks without getting frustrated .
The idea is to start at Prof . Oak's house , get your first Pokemon from him , and then journey all around the land of Pokemon , collecting various wild pokemon ( which you catch by battling them until they faint ) , and doing battle with other trainers along the way .
In the process , kids learn to manuever through mazes of increasing complexity ( which is why the manuals are a help ) , to gather and use items , and to develop strategies for fighting various types of Pokemon . My five year-old even started to read while using her Gameboy , from needing to know which items she had with her ( in her Item List ) !
All in all these are great games which can be played over and over ( although only one game at a time can be saved ) , and which will provide your kids with hundreds of hours of fun .

Pokemon is a VERY COOL game , although it isn't very different from pokemon red . just a few different pokemon . If I were you I would buy one of them ( RED OR BLUE ) and trade with a friend who has the other cartrige . I have found pokemon blue to be a very fun kids game . I even know a few grown-ups who like the game . It's really a great Christmas presant to anyone who dosen't already have it .

Pokemon Blue is a pretty addictive game at first , but after you catch the first 60 Pokemons , the routine is the same and it gets pretty boring .

I'm not much of a pokemon fan , but the Game Boy game is awesome ! You can catch 50 different kinds of Pokemon , battle other trainers , and do all sorts of things on the Pokemon Game Boy games . I wouldn't recomend you get all three games because they're all basically the same .

I have both red and blue and theres practicly no diff . its just in the pokemon and you really dont care because you can just trade a poke only in red for a poke only in blue . 045 4 My kids saved their money for 6 months to but both a color gameboy ( in Kiwi green ) and the yellow version of Pokemon .

I LOVE this game . I bought it when I was seven and have loved it ever since . It's the original ! Sure , the graphics are less than impressive ( most everything is a nice shade of blue , teal or green ) , but for me that doesn't matter . The storyline is great and really keeps you guessing . It gets hard ! I have Pokemon Silver , Crystal , Sapphire and Fire Red also , and so far Blue has been the only game in which I had real trouble beating the Elite Four , the four strongest trainers in the land that you must beat to complete the game . You also have to get through Victory Road , this huge cave , which is full of tons of trainers who are trying to beat the Elite Four , too .
You really have to work , especially to get HMs . The hardest thing for me was Rock Tunnel - it's completely black , so unless you tip your Gameboy almost upside down under a light , you have to feel your way through . The trainers and gym leaders are also pretty hard . The only downside to this game is that there's absolutely nothing to do after you finish the game except go beat the Elite Four or go capture Mewtwo , which is less than exciting .

077 4 Wow , where do we begin ? ! ? Pokemon Blue for the Nintendo Game Boy . First off I will say this , at the time this game was made ( 1999 ) there was no other game like it . To this day in 2009 , 10 years later , it is still a FUN game ! You can play it on any gameboy besides DS which is nice as well . You can buy it through Amazon Marketplace or EBAY for fairly cheap . You will literally have 20 - 30 hours of fun gameplay for anywhere between 10 and 15 dollars .
Now onto the actual game . You play as Ash . A Pokemon trainer . Your objective is to catch Pokemon that live in the wild , raise them to be strong , healthy , etc . You fight other trainers as you go about the game . Your Pokemon will learn new moves as you go along as well . You fight gym trainers who are extra tough . So make sure to level your Pokemon before you fight them ! All kinds of challenges in here , goals to accomplish , Pokemon to be caught , dungeons , caves , etc . to be explored . Bottom line buy this game and you will be very happy for ad least a few weeks . It's a refreshing feeling and game to play , especially with what is out there now on the market . If anything , you will definitely get a nostalgic feel as you roam around this world on your Game Boy , which ever one it may be , just trying to beat this game . So sit back , relax on your favorite chair , and let the Pokemon Blue version for the Game Boy begin . : )

I think pokemon blue is cool.like in the red vertion you get to choose between three starting pokemon : bulbasaur , squirtle , and charmander [ I usally pick charmander ] . I think pokemon blue is better then pokemon red because you can get all my favorite pokemon [ pikachu , meowth , psyduck , charizard , ratata , butterfree , and mewtwo ] . its really cool try it .

Pokemon Blue is an extraordinary piece of work , undoubtedly the best Game Boy game I have ever played since Gator's Revenge .

Title : Gotta ketch em all
Pokemon blue is a great adventurous game . Once you set your fingers on the gameboy you won't stop . It's fun to give your pokemon there own nicknames and making them happy . Making new pokemon buddies , leveling them up to their full force , beating the gym leaders is so fun . The game can be perfected over and over again . Trust me its great ! It tells it all by the five stars .

I really liked this game . If only I could give it a billion stars . . .

Twasnt long ago i was searching for the orgins of the pokemon gaming history , and i stumbled upon red , blue , and the japanese green version on www.pokemon.com ( I found green on google ) . I will share what i found out , and how much i like this game !
Ok , when i found out the games dated back to here , i was interested at why the kanto remakes fire red and leaf green had no remake of blue . I doubt it will be remade by now due to the new ds games , which are cool . Ok , on the front we see a blastoise , the final evolution of squirtle . I chose blastoise on blue due to this , and it helped . The graphics are good , considering how old the game is . the sounds are pour however , and you can always turn them off . I loved the story line , and new it by heart due to fire red version , though i had trouble finding moltres . The saddest part is after you catch mewtwo , your pretty much done with the game unless you find all the glitches like i did , and beware of some which can ruin your data . Mine is still in mint condition , and i play it about once every month just to remind my self this is where it all began .
To sum it all up , this game was never remade though a water blue version wouldve been nice , and im ashamed nintendo made leaf green instead ( which wasnt that great ) . The classic is one most people would look over and say this is a fake , they never remade it yada yada yada but its not , its where the beggining was born for pokemon , and blue is better than red for me , though i have red which i like too , but i love blue .

Pokemon - Blue Version ( Game Cartridge )
This is one of the first two US releases of the series of games all known as Pokemon . Before release , the name was Pocket Monsters , but the name was shortened for reasons I do not know . Two of the rarest Pokemon in existence can only be found on the original Blue and Red versions , one being Mew , whom rumors have circulated about for ages with definitive proof only surfacing in recent years . The other one , Missing no , is avoided at all costs , as it only exists because of debugging and playtesting complications , which is incredibly anomalous in and of itself for Nintendo , and has thus catapulted this Pokemon all of the way to the top of desirable Pokemon in this particular game because of the amazingly unusual circumstances , as well as the fact that the glitch is impossible to transfer to sequels like crystal , emerald , and so on , making Missingno's existence a fluke that will probably never be seen again and a small piece of gaming mythology . This Pokemon , when caught , can potentially result in irreversible corruption of this particular cartridge ( no other Gameboy game , either Pokemon or otherwise has suffered a problem remotely like this ) , and those your Gameboy interacts with as well ( again , this is limited to the very first Pokemon games ever made and does not pose even the slightest uncertainty of performance for Pokemon or non-Pokemon games that were made in some of the following years . To risk unpopularity with blunt honesty , I wish to strongly advise against getting a used copy for this reason unless you are willing to see it as something of a lottery ticket with better than 50% odds of success . These two , the rarest and the deadliest , may be playable in the potentially inevitable expansion / sequel to Smash Brothers Brawl . Missingno's visuals will almost certainly be inspired by fan input .
148 4 I bought my pokemon red and blue when I was 8 years old in 1998 , and I still play them every now and again . The original pokemon red and blue games are by far my favourite ones . I love the idea when I'm playing a game that came out like 8 years ago and I know that it was once the only one of its kind that people ever knew . They were certainly very popular in back in the 90 ' s . Yeah , the newer ones have better graphics , more pokemon , etc . but does that make them the most enjoyable ? I also own pokemon yellow , green ( a japanese one ) , gold , silver , crystal , ruby , sapphire , emerald , fire red , and leaf green , and I still think the original red and blue are , and always will be , the best . No matter how hard people try to re-make them to improve their graphics , the original version will still be better .
The original games are where the beauty of the newer ones comes from , and I think they should definitely be remembered . I've met nine-year-olds who don't know about the red and blue games , but when I let them play it for a while they were fascinated . This shows that people are easily forgetting the true , original pokemon games , which is wrong . They should always be remembered , and played . A lot more effort and new ideas went into producing pokemon red and blue , and they were extremely popular when they first came out . You can't play the newer games and not play the ones from the oldest generation ! A true pokemon fan should play the oldest games in particular to see and understand how pokemon games evolved , and know about pokemon in the first generation . I highly reccomend pokemon red and blue ; you can't beat the originals !

Pokémon blue has to be the best game ever even though I also have a pc , since I bought the game I've hardly played the pc . with what I call the best graphics a gameboy could have , the multiplayer option is brilliant as well . so if you're wondering which gameboy game to get I say GET IT !

Even though some might consider this game yesterday's news , I still enjoy playing it sometimes . In the newer games , there are so many more Pok'emon to catch , making it harder to beat the game . Actually , I've never beat the game before , because you have to trade with other people who have the game to get all the Pok'emon .
You play as a boy whose goal is to catch all the Pok'emon in the world , and beat all the Pok'emon gym leaders . You must travel through different cities , and complete many tasks to get through the game . Pok'emon : Blue Version definately falls into the adventure catergory .
I would recommend this game , as well as any other Pok'emon game .

This game is awesome when you choose your Pokemon at the beginning but it gets boring later . It's cool fighting the trainers , but you can only fight them once ( except for the Elite Four . ) This game starts off as a best-seller , and drops down to an instant 0 in seconds !

Pokemon - Blue Version ( Game Cartridge )
The year was 1998 . I was twelve years old , in middle school , and the Pokemon games debuted in the United States for the very first time . A game so simple and yet at the very same time : So complex . Nothing was more addictive , nothing was more fun than playing Pokemon . If you remember the craze ( the REAL craze , presently it isn't nearly as strong as it was back then ) , then you remember what it was like to go to school back in those days . Suddenly EVERYONE had a Gameboy . Suddenly even those who didn't normally play games or even know what the hell a Gameboy was , had it . And you'd go up to your friends and you'd trade Pokemon , you'd taunt each other about who was the better champion when you battled . You got in arguments over who the best starter was . Then you learned of those glitches to get all your Pokemon to level 100 by duplicating the Rare Candies . You caught Missingno and M-Block and caught Safari Zone Pokemon by exploiting what may very well be one of the most widely known glitches in video game history . And of course , you went to catch them all , and you probably had that ONE friend who you deemed your rival and you had to catch ' em all before he did . If you remember all this , you're a true Pokemon fan . This isn't a myth , this game debuted , sold gazillions of copies and started a craze that - - while it isn't as strong - - still exists today . This was one of the heights of gaming period .
The Red and Blue versions may have seen stateside release in 1998 , but the game was actually made in 1995 . Before the television show came around . When the TV series took off in America , the games came next and as I said , they sold more copies than the latest installment of Harry Potter . I'm not kidding .
Red and Blue began almost everything you currently see in the series today . The game begins with you naming your character ( you couldn't choose between a boy or a girl in this one ) and then your rival . Again , if you had Pokemon fever you probably named your main character Ash and your rival was named Gary ( even the strategy guides referred to them as such ) . It began with Professor Oak letting you have a Pokemon of your choice ( between 3 starters ) and then ultimately he'd send you on a journey with a Pokedex and have you document the Pokemon you'd find . Along the way , you'd have to deal with Team Rocket , the bad guys who are always causing trouble and stealing everyone's Pokemon , as well as gather eight badges so you could challenge the Elite Four and become a Pokemon League Champion . The entire formula began here , and just about everything mentioned above has been done in each and every main series Pokemon game hereafter .
What was perhaps the strangest thing about Pokemon is that the game was surprisingly deep in terms of combat . It was your traditional turn-based combat . Simple , yet it was so complex . For one , the game has a Rock / Paper / Scissors method to it . Every Pokemon has a type , and every type has its own strengths and weaknesses . For example , Water is strong up against fire but it is weak vs . Grass . Grass is weak vs . fire etc . etc . No Pokemon is invincible . They all have a weakness to some type . Though in these versions the psychics definitely have an unfair advantage as the type they're weak against ( bug ) is almost non-existent and there are hardly any bug type attacks .
In the battle menu you're given a list of commands . Fight , Item , PKMN , or Run . You can switch Pokemon you've caught in and out of battle on the fly , but it'll usually cost you a turn . It's the strategic portion of Pokemon that makes battling fun and addictive . As you go through the game you'll be challenged by trainers and you never know what they'll throw at you ! It's completely unpredictable and some of them are tough . It's also interesting because with 150 different Pokemon , the amount of teams you can make are endless , and it really makes you think about what types you want in your roster . Because most of the Pokemon types are weak vs . more than just one type . It's also important that you give them a variety of moves , as the moves are also typed . On paper it doesn't seem like much , but when you actually play the game , you'll find a clog in your drain you didn't even know you had because you thought your team was perfect . . . but then that one Pokemon comes along and exposes your fatal flaw .
Pokemon was no short game . It was full of all sorts of side quests . From the Safari Zone , to catching the Legendary Birds , to the Unknown Dungeon . There was plenty to do , and even after the game was over there was STILL more to accomplish . Of course , your main accomplishment was getting them all . Pokemon could easily keep you busy for well over 60 hours . In 1998 this is an amazing feat seeing as how most RPGs of TODAY don't keep you busy that long . The main quest itself only took a measly 15 hours or so , but all the extra content kept you on your toes .
Even more , Pokemon was one of the few Gameboy Games that made excellent use of the link cable . Since Red and Blue versions had different Pokemon , some only appeared in certain versions . You couldn't for example , catch a Magmar in the Red version , but you could in Blue . How then , were Red players supposed to catch all 150 ? By trading . Until Pokemon came around , my link cable was collecting dust . Trading was usually a slow grueling process , though . Traded Pokemon also got an experience boost so they were easier to train .
Even more exciting than trading , however , was what really made Pokemon a blast to play : Battling . You and your friends could get together and battle one another ! Test out your Pokemon teams against your friends . They were , more often not , far better to battle against than the games trainers . It's always interesting to see who your opponents heavy hitter is . With your friends it was always interesting . Imagine how embarrassed you were to say a certain Pokemon sucked only to discover that the trainer actually did a good job training ?
As far as the game looks and sounds , it didn't really look all that great when it was released in 1998 ( it was after all , a game made in 1995 ) . On the original gameboy it was pretty grainy ( but very clear on the Gameboy Pocket ) and of course it was black or white ( unless you played it on a Super Gameboy or Gameboy Color ) . For a Gameboy game , though , it actually wasn't too bad . It was annoying to watch a Pokemon simply flinch to attack , and some of the animations weren't all that great , but it was to be expected due to the Gameboy's limitations . The music , however , was fantastic . The tunes were catchy - - particularly the trainer battles and gym leader battles . The only really annoying thing was the sound effects . They weren't all that great , and its a shame that Nintendo actually continues to use those exact same sound effects in Pokemon games today . Still , for what it's worth , this was the game you wanted on the Gameboy .
Pokemon is a classic . It'll always be a classic . No matter who you are , if you played Pokemon ten years ago , the craze was completely undeniable . If you got addicted like I did , chances are you're still playing today . Because in its core , the game was far deeper than you thought it was , and the series continues to use that same basic formula even today .

029 4 Short version : superb !
Long version : This game is awesome ! Before I got it I heard some great things so I got it as my first GB game . The game is longer then other GB games . I have a 16 year old cousin and two friends that love it ! And they don't even know english that well . Its really long and it has a story . You walk around and catch Pokemon It sounds simple but it's not When you want to catch a Pokemon you have to weaken it , but must not make it faint otherwise the Pokemon is lost for you because some Pokemon are really rare and you can fight them only one time in the whole game Everything is connected to something else You have to get to another building in another town and beat like 30 trainers so you get an item with which you identify a ghost of Pokemon to get another item Really tricky and you have to come to that conclusion based on the info you get from people walking around You can also choose dificulty There's no room to write everythin about this game . Now I have a problem : Pokemon Silver or Linkin park CD ?

Pokemon - Blue Version ( Game Cartridge )
This game came out some time ago , but this is my review . I have played many handheld games since this treasure . I have realized none have been as much fun as this game . It is truly the best portable game ever .
The story , now mediocre at best , was incredible for a little kid . Not to say an adult would not enjoy it . A boy or girl sets off on an adventure to capture and train 151 creatures called Pokemon . The Pokemon are all great and varied up enough to keep them interesting . There are all different skills and abilities they could learn throughout . Your ultimate goal is to become experienced enough to beat the Elite Four . The Elite Four is the best of the best in the world of Pokemon .
The graphics were nice , but nothing was really outstanding on the Game Boy Color . I only played around twenty GBC games so my knowledge is limited . Animations are not amazing . They get the job done . The Blue version had a slightly greenish-blue tint to everything . While the Red version had a red tint . This makes a very big difference depending on which one you started playing . I started on Blue and attempted to play the Red version , which was nearly impossible . My eyes could not adjust . It is the only graphical difference between the two .
Not all Pokemon were available in this one . You had to get both versions if you wanted all the Pokemon .
The music is annoying I usually played it with the sound off . I did that with all GBC games , though .
The best part about this game is the glitches . Normally these things would not be in a game . They add so much . You can duplicate items , get a Pokemon that was only available in the Japanese version , and create the ultimate Pokemon team . The glitches add so much value and most importantly fun to the game once beaten .
This is the game I compare all portable games against . This game was followed by the Yellow version . Which was basically the same with minor changes and no glitches . The reason for this review is simple . I want people to enjoy this classic game . You don't have to get a PSP or DS , if you want to experience a great game .

Wow , where do we begin ? !
090 4 Pokemon Blue is a great game . This is the game that first got me totally into Pokemon . This game is fun and interesting . You can play this game for a long time . This game doesn't really end . There's always something else to do . In this game you are a guy ( in Crystal , they give you a choice ! Then I actually can quit naming a guy a girl's name ! ) who catches , raises , and battles Pokemon , which are like animals . Pokemon Blue is a really fun game . Play Pokemon Blue . You'll be totally into Pokemon . I really highly recommend Pokemon Blue ( and everything else Pokemon . Pokemon ROCKS ! ) .

When I got this game I played and played and played .
124 4 This game is sweet ! There are acouple codes you can put in , like how to get Missingno . ( Talk to the person in Viridian that tells you how to catch poke'mon and let him show you how , then fly to Cinnabar and surf on the edge of the island to the right and make sure you stay on the side or it won't work , and soon Missingno . should show up and you can catch it or you can get alot , or close to unlimated rare candys or master balls or any other item like that if you have that item at the 6th position in your pack but you have to kill it ) If anyone knows how to catch Mew , Your Lucky ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I think it has something to do with a truck in a little part of the water when you can sea the S.S.Anne . . . . . . . . . but I think you need a Gameshark.I highly recommend this game . And all the things I told you about Blue will work for Red and I think it works for yellow also .

Pokemon Red and Blue . The first two games to be released in America in the Pokemon series . For people my age , looking back at these games is nostalgia , but that doesn't mean these games didn't age well . In fact , they get better with age , due to the simply presented , yet deeply complex underlying mechanics . I mean , I sure as hell didn't know most of this game's underlying mechanics even EXISTED when I first played it .
The game starts you off with one pokemon , which you choose out of 3 possible starters . The pokemon you choose will almost invariably become the backbone of your team , so this is a decision you want to put some thought into . Each possible choice will give you options and strategies when building your team , such as a turtle ( defensive ) or an aggro ( offensive ) or a special attacker ( gamble , sometimes your attacks will be devastating , sometimes they'll be ineffective . Note on this one , as you gain insight into how the mechanics of the game work , you'll understand which pokemon have a resistance to special attacks and which are weak to them ) As a kid , I know I didn't put much thought into strategy , but playing through the game again today , there's a whole nother world underneath what I remember . A last note , you'll also have to be aware of type weaknesses and strengths . If a pokemon is weak to a certain type , getting hit by a move of that type will do double the damage , and if a pokemon is strong to a type , it'll take half the damage . Some types also have immunities to other types , like , Ghost is immune to Normal .
The main objective of the game is to raise and care for your pokemon , gaining experience from battles with wild pokemon and trainers for your pokemon to gain levels , which in turn will eventually mean learning new moves , or having some ( most do ) of your pokemon evolve into a new form . Make no mistake though , Pokemon is an RPG first and foremost . You'll sometimes have to grind for experience so you'll be able to get through the next challenge .
Getting into the story , you'll meet your childhood rival when you pick your starter pokemon , and as a note , he'll always pick the pokemon with a type advantage over yours . You'll have to fight him constantly throughout the game , and he'll obtain new pokemon and evolve his over time , just as you're doing . It's a well used pace-car , as the areas you meet him in lead to a new Gym , or an otherwise challenging area , and the designers made his pokemon just about as powerful in these encounters as the ones you'll find on the road ahead .
Which brings me to the next plot point , Gyms . Gyms typically have a small puzzle , or multiple trainers ( at least one ) that you must fight to get to the gym leader . For overcoming the leader in each gym , you receive a badge , which does multiple things , the main point being that you need all the badges to enter the final area of the game , the Pokemon League . Another very important factor of badges is that they break limitations on the levels of your pokemon . Badges are another pace-car of this game , as , if you were to level your pokemon up to an absurdly high level at the beginning of the game , they won't listen to what you tell them to do in battle . Each badge lifts a layer of that restriction away , so by the end , you'll be able to control pokemon all the way up to the level cap , 99 .
A nice finishing touch to this already stellar game is the addition of legendary pokemon , which gives you incentive to keep playing even if you've beaten the story . Legendary means that there is only one of each of these pokemon in the game . There are technically 4 legendary pokemon in the first generation games , 5 if you count a glitch pokemon named Mew , used as a testing device in the production of the game , since it can learn any move . It wasn't removed , and there are ways of obtaining it . If you go after them , I wouldn't recommend going into a legendary encounter without 99 Ultra Balls ( it's an item you use to catch wild pokemon that has a high success rate ) You are required to go through a dungeon area to find each of these pokemon , and they'll be sitting at the end of it , so I suggest you save in front of them each time , and reset if something goes wrong . Yes , they're THAT hard to catch .
If you'd rather not bother with complex strategics , and wasting an hour of your life trying to catch one pokemon though , just go through and have a good time , don't worry too much about the strategy and hidden stats and all what-have-you . In my case , even as a kid , I didn't stop playing until I got all 151 pokemon , but that just proves , this game is versatile , it can suit whatever level of play you desire , and it'll be rewarding at any level too .
So to recap and make final points , Pokemon is an RPG in which you train and raise the titular creatures , collecting badges as proof of your abilities so you can challenge the 4 toughest pokemon trainers for the title of Pokemon Master . ( corny , I know ) The game has brilliant mechanics which allow you to play at a surface level , or get down and dirty into the minute details to eke out the best performance from your pokemon . All ages and sexes will enjoy this game . At most , it is similar to chess in complexity , at least , it is a casual experience anyone can pick up very quickly . If you haven't played the original Pokemon games yet , I would highly recommend you do so . It's worth $20 to play the game that started this huge franchise . Plus , you'll get maybe 20 or 30 hours of play out of it if you aren't using a guide .

I bought my pokemon red and blue when I was 8 years old in 1998 , and I still play them every now and again .
151 4 Pokemon Red and Blue . If you are a fan of Pokemon and you haven't played one of these games yet , then get up and go buy one of them ! They are both the same , except a few Pokemon are exclusive to each version . Whichever one you buy , you'll have a great time playing ! These games are amazing RPG's , and should be a part of any Pokemon fans collection .
The graphics are good for a Gameboy game . The sound is good , too , unlike a lot of other Gameboy games that have sound that is excruciating to listen to . Unfortunately , you can only save one game on a single cartridge . This doesn't bother me , as no one else uses my Gameboy , but it would be nice to make a backup copy of my saved game . It is easy to play , but hard to master . Pokemon Red and Blue have a lot of replay value ! Apparently , you haven't truly beaten the game until you capture all 150 Pokemon , which requires a link cable and a friend who has the opposite version ( Unless you cheat using a Gameshark ) . I never really attempted to collect all the Pokemon in any of the Pokemon games ; I simply tried to beat all of the other trainers and the various activities in the game , but if you are looking for a real challenge , you could attempt to collect all of them .
After you finish this game , be sure to check out the various other Pokemon games ! In my opinion , they are all great games . Some people don't like the new versions because they claim they don't like the Pokemon in them , but don't listen to those people , they are just angry because Pokemon isn't cool anymore . I hated when Pokemon was the biggest fad for kids , because it turned off a lot of adult gamers who thought it was childish . This game is not just for kids ! Go buy Pokemon Red or Pokemon Blue .
By the way , the only downside to buying either of these games is that you might lose some sleep while playing them !
157 4 I have the games pokemon blue and pokemon yellow . I like blue more than yellow since you can do more codes in it . Such as the infinite code where you talk to the man in viridian city ( the one that won't let you pass if you don't have a pokedex . ) And then fly to cinnabar island . Surf on the right side of the island . You have to be right on the shore so it looks like your on land but your not. Then the 6th item will be infinte.also please email me at oblaylock13 @ hotmail.com if you can tell me the code to catch safari game zone pokemon in other areas . THis was a great game .

Like I've mentioned , this is one of the best rpgs ever made . It's fun , and teaches responsibility . I love collecting the 151 monsters , and it takes a long time , which is also fun . The game's monsters look hand-drawn , and are beautiful . One thing I like was that each monster had it's own unique cry . This game is a must for any Gameboy gamer . It's something you'll not regret buying .
189 4 anybody ever hear of missingo ? he's actually catchable , ( very , very weired , shall i say , pokemon ) anyway , do you want to catch him ? if you want your items multiplied around infitity ? put your item you want 2 multiply in the sixth or eighth down.go to cinnibar island ( after you've beeten the game ) to the right of the gym . go right in the middle ( shore ) between the water and land . go up and down a few times . you might see , missingo , ( lv .60,80 and 0 ) which have the funniest attacks ( don't worry , it's not like articuno or anybody , cum back whenever and they'll be there , vulpix , ponyta , and other out-of-the-ordinary pokemon there , hope you enjoy this cheat !

I really enjoyed pokemon and I have played it for about 150 hours to catch all 150 pokemon . The only thing i did not like is that the music was so annoying i had a hard time sleeping that night because of it . another thing that i did not like is after a while it gets boring and you do not want to play any more .

This is fun and you could never find a better game . . . when you buy it and start playing it you fall into a void like nothing is more important than the game . . but Once you beat it and get all 150 Pokemon . . you can try diffrent ways to get Mew like I have been doing . . . None of them work most of the time but it is worth it !

Pokemon : Pocket Monsters in Japan . I did love this game , but now , 8 months after I bought it beat it 14 times , it's just not fun anymore , I can't say it's the worst game , but it just gets really boring after beating it a few too many times . If you haven't bought this game , you should , or at least wait til October 16th to buy Pokemon Gold and Silver . I do recomend this game , but don't overplay it . You'll just say it is a waste of money . * sigh *
228 4 This game rocks . It has a few different pokemon that red . Don't buy both . Anyway who doesn't like pokemon ? It started as Pocket Monsters . Anyway . . . I like all the badges ; the hardest ones were . . .
I don't know . I just sort of fiddled my way through . Anyway , don't use the master ball use the missingno . code . for more information search the internet .
I liked this game it was ok . It was a big fat waste of time though .

When you think of RPG , what do you think of ? Knights , swords , magic , sorcery , and , ya know , a reasonable plot ! Po。 èmon has none of the above . The game puts you , the player , as a 10 - year-old dropout who goes out into the world where monsters reign . And they don't even attempt to attack YOU , only your monsters , called Po。 èmon , a lame American way to make it seem Japanese . Moreover , you have to be the best pokemon trainer in the world , which consists entirely of 8 cities . ( like I counted ! ) . And why can't the monsters learn more than 4 moves ? Talk about short-term memory ! No one pays attention to the RPG elements in the game , such as hit points and power points , their substitution for magic points . And their stats ! Sorry I got a little off subject . Back to the game . Two versions was a very good way to steal unsuspecting people's money . Oops this is only Blue version review right ? Ok . Anyways , this game needed an in-depth plot that develops with more twists as you go along and it needed to be about 5 times as long like any good RPG . And wheres the evil 10 - ton villain taking over the world ! Overall , I suggest this game not be bought , lest you fall into the hypnotic spell this game has given young people everywhere that would otherwise be innocent !

So complex .
008 4 Pokemon is a VERY COOL game , although it isn't very different from pokemon red . just a few different pokemon . If I were you I would buy one of them ( RED OR BLUE ) and trade with a friend who has the other cartrige . I have found pokemon blue to be a very fun kids game . I even know a few grown-ups who like the game . It's really a great Christmas presant to anyone who dosen't already have it .

Unless you call a tiny cavern beneath a moss-covered rock home , you've heard of Pokemon by now . You know what it's about . You're just not sure if you really want to jump into the craze quite yet .
When I got the game , I had no idea what Pokemon was . The manual that came with it is pretty neat . I gazed at its interesting cover for about five seconds before slipping the cartridge into my Game Boy and turning the power on . When I next looked up , I discovered that two entire hours had passed .
Calling this game fun doesn't even begin to describe it . It has a great plot - Team Rocket trying to corrupt everything , your rival out there , catching Pokemon right along with you . And it has fun gameplay - you're just never really sure what that next Pokemon is going to be . One of my favorite parts was just carrying around Poke balls and walking through the wilds , catching Pokemon left and right . I loved racking the numbers up on the Pokedex , which tells you how many you've caught . I was at first boggled by how many Pokemon there was-I was supposed to know all of these ? But it's really easy to memorize them - they all become beloved characters .
And the storyline doesn't get repetitive , either . There's always new events occuring , new things to do .
I started off with a Charmander , and my rival picked a Squirtle . Many , many days later , I was about to enter the Pokemon League headquarters , after I had defeated all the Gym Leaders . My rival walked up , we fought , and then we were down to our last Pokemon . He threw out his Blastoise ( once Squirtle ) and I threw out my Charizard ( once Charmander ) . I remembered all that time ago , when we faced each other in Professor Oak's office-my first Pokemon battle ever , with my little Charmander against his little Squirtle . Now they were fully grown , and powerful . It almost brought tears to my eyes .
My only two complaints about this game are that it can get a bit annoying , when you're wandering through a building , and wild Pokemon keep popping out .

This is the best game I ever saw . You start out with either a Bulbasaur , Squirtle , or Charmander ( I usually start with Bulbasaur ) . You go out and train your Pokemon to higher levels . Your first Pokemon starts on level 5 . You can capture new Pokemon with Pokeballs . Your rival ( you get to name him ) battles you every once in a while . You battle 8 gym leaders to get 8 badges . When you beat all the gym leaders , you can go to the elite 4 , who are very powerful Pokemon trainers . If you beat them , you battle your rival one last time and then you are the Pokemon League Champion and the most powerful Pokemon trainer in the whole world . It is very exciting .
There are also legendary Pokemon . If you throw a Pokeball at them , you will miss , but you can catch them if they're asleep or frozen . The most powerful Pokemon is Mewtwo . It is very hard to capture , and it has very powerful attacks . When you catch all of the Pokemon ( 150 ) you get a diploma . It is still fun to play after you catch all the Pokemon , because you can still train them and beat other Pokemon trainers . If you get bored , you can always start a new game .

017 4 One word : PLAYBACK . My sister first owned this game in 1998 , and since then I have owned MANY Pokémon games for both Game Boy Color and N64 . And let me tell you , the original is always the best ! Pokémon Red and Blue are the best games ever created for Game Boy Color ! I still love these games , trading Pokémon , and battling other people with the Link Cable !
First of all , people of any age can enjoy this game . It is cute and innocent enough to entertain children , but the strategy and the level of gameplay make it a worthwhile game for adults . Everyone will love this game .
You start out as a trainer named Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town . Your mission is to become a Pokémon Master by catching 150 Pokémon ( 151 if you count Mew ) and becoming the champion of the Elite Four . To do this , you must train and catch Pokémon , raise them , and even trade them between Red and Blue versions using your Link Cable or the infrared port on your Game Boy Color . This is both fun and time-consuming , which is great when you are at home sick or bored on a stormy day . Pokémon are raised by winning battles and / or using Rare Candy . Raising Pokémon may sound tedious , but you will change your mind about that when you actually play for yourself . Pokémon is addictive from the moment you start your game all the way through . You will meet many new people on the way , become a hero , and win new items and abilities as you go along .
As Ash , you travel through the world of Kanto , which is divided into a number of cities and towns . A map will be your guide as you make your way through the vast world of Pokémon . Explore caves , oceans , tall grass , and rocky paths on your way . Each town or city usually has its own Pokémon Gym , with a Gym Leader which is something like a Boss . Each time you beat a Gym Leader you receive a badge . You need eight badges to battle the Elite Four and the current Elite Four Champion . There are different diversions in each city and town , for example , Celadon City's department store and casino , and one of my personal favorites , Fuschia City's Safari Zone .
Trainers can be found everywhere , good and bad , from Team Rocket invading the radio station , to the gyms , in the water , on the road , and pretty much anywhere you go . Random Pokémon appear and battle you if you are in a cave , tall grass , or in the water . The wild Pokémon you come across are the ones that you can catch if you have Pokéballs with you . Items such as the bike and repel can help prevent you from running into too many Pokémon if you are trying to get somewhere . If your Pokémon are tired or injured , you can stop at a Pokémon center and heal them for free ! You can also store Pokémon via a computer terminal located within every Pokémon Center .
The music is so cute ! And there is a lot of different music , so it doesn't get repetitive .
If you are lucky enough to own Pokémon Stadium , you can play Red or Blue on your TV screen using a Transfer Pak ! You can also use the Pokémon you raised on your Red or Blue game to battle in Pokémon Stadium .
Overall , this is one of the best games I have ever played . It is still fun after years of gameplay , as you never fully run out of stuff to do . If you want to get into Pokémon , or if you're an old fan that never quite got around to getting the game , this is the game for you ! Pokémaniacs rule !
023 4 The year was 1998 . I was twelve years old , in middle school , and the Pokemon games debuted in the United States for the very first time .
024 4 Pokemon Blue is a fabulous game with a very original plot , and two main objectives . It starts off with you , in your house , and you're ready to start your adventure with Pokemon , creatures that you catch and raise . You try to leave town , but Professor Oak ( a Pokemon expert ) stops you and brings you to his lab . There , he has you choose one of three Pokemon . This is a very important choice . I'll evaluate each one for you :
BULBASAUR : A strong grass type Pokemon . The first two gym leaders are extremely vulnerable to his type , so he is undoubtedly a good choice . He also has a secondary type of poison , which can be a helpful feature . I highly recommend him if you are new to this game .
SQUIRTLE : A very strong water Pokemon . He is very good against the first gym leader , but not the second . He is my personal choice . Squirtle is the moderate choice . He's for either for experienced players who don't want Charmander , beginner players who don't want Bulbasaur , or people who's skill is in between easy and experienced . Ice moves can also be taught to him , which can be an advantage .
CHARMANDER : An exceptionally powerful fire Pokemon . He is not very good against the first gym leader , and terrible against the second . He seems to be the most popular choice , although he is the most difficult to train . He does become the best of the three in final form , because he obtains a secondary type of flying .
From there , you must catch more Pokemon . You need a party of Pokemon ( you can have up to 6 ) and you raise them , moving from town to town , gaining experience , fighting trainers , obtaining items , and catching new Pokemon . The other objective is to catch all the Pokemon ( 150 in Red Blue . ) Some are easy to catch , some difficult , and some you must trade from Red . You see , the only diffrence between Red Blue is the distribution of Pokemon ( 11 diffrent in each version . ) Some only in Red , some only in Blue . You must use a link cable between two versions . With the link cable , you can also battle the other person ( but you won't gain experience . ) That's a part of the game .
I hope you found this helpful . Good luck on your game !

Pokemon - Blue Version ( Game Cartridge )
Pokemon is a great way to spend your time . It is very challenging , but it is very satisfying when a mission is completed .
You start out as Ash Ketchum in Pallet Town , where you meet Professor Oak , who gives you your first Pokemon ( a Bulbasaur , a Charmander or a Squirtle ) , and you're off ! Throughout your adventure , there are many towns and cities connected by bridges or paths or forests . Each major city has a gym and a Gym Leader , whom you have to fight . Sometimes it takes a long time to defeat them though . For example , it took me a week to beat Misty . Your objective is to become the world's best Pokemon trainer . To do this , you have to catch all 150 Pokemon . Pokemon are everywhere . In towers , on paths , in forests , caves , etc . You also have to beat each of eight Gym Leaders , then beat the Elite Four . Your final step to ecoming the world's best Pokemon trainer is succesfully catching the legendary Mewtwo , the ultimate fighting machine and the hardest Pokemon to catch . Its all great fun . You have a number of rivals , including Team Rocket and Oak's grandson . You will encounter them many times in your journey , and it's loads of fun . There are also many other trainers along the way . You can buy stuff at the Poke Mart , like potions , antidotes , etc . There is a Celadon Department Store in Celadon City which almost everything you need is there . There are Poke Centers , where your Pokemon can be healed completely . In Lavender Town , there is a Pokemon Tower where there are ghost Pokemon , an S.S Anne ship with loads of trainers and a guy you need to find , and much , much more .
Pokemon fight and win battles for you . They obey orders . But they're not looking for masters - - they're looking for friends ! Treat them well . Give them their vitamins . Your Pokemon evolve now and then . Some evolve through experience , some through trading , some through special elemental stones . Once they're evolved , they can't learn some techniques that they would be able to learn at their previously evolved stage . So it's important you teach them as much as they can learn before they evolve . It's important to have a well-balanced team of Pokemon . You want them all at a good , high level so if one faints the others can come in . There are also different elements of Pokemon . For example , water would beat fire , so if you have a level 50 Charizard ( fire Pokemon ) and a level 50 Blastoise ( water Pokemon ) , it would be more likely for the Blastoise to win than the Charizard .
There is also money , which you can spend at Poke Marts . Trainers you beat give you money as a prize . YOU NEED IT , AND IT'S REALLY COOL TO GET IT .
Hours and hours of fun can be spent with Pokemon Blue Version for Gameboy , and unlimited possibilities . Blue and Red , the original versions , are definitely the best , because in the newer versions like Diamond and Pearl , there are all these weird and dumb Pokemon . So if you are looking for a Gameboy game that would really be fun and satisfying , choose POKEMON BLUE !

Pokemon - Blue Version ( Game Cartridge )
We probably all know about the hype that Pokemon ( Pocket Monsters ) has received about 7 years ago . It started off as a game that originated in Japan around 1995 - 1996 , and it was introduced to the United States in 1998 . A TV show and a trading card series followed . Plush Pikachu dolls were everywhere . I was a big fan of this fad , and I was only in the 5th grade ( late 1999 ) when I purchased this game and strapped in for the time of my life .
This is the blue version of the original Game Boy series . Just like in the Red Version , there are Pokemon that cannot be captured ( Ekans , Magmar , Scyther , Growlith and Mankey just to name a few ) , and a trade cable will be required to fulfill catching them all , but here's a little lowdown and some advice to some starters of this game :
You are given one out of three Pokemon to start out with ( Bulbasaur , Charmander , Squirtle ) , and note that your first trainer is Brock , who uses the rock type . I recommend you choose Squirtle if you want to take it easy at first , because it learns Bubble at level 8 . Bulbasaur is also a good choice , but it doesn't learn Vine Whip until level 13 . ( I'm explaining the best moves to defeat Brock's Pokemon . ) Charmander is not a good bet , but good for a challenge . When you get to Pewter City , however , don't rush to battle Brock until you feel like you are prepared . Metapod and Kakuna give out a lot of experience points so that leveling is easier , and if you catch a Caterpie / Metapod and raise it to a level 12 Butterfree , it can also help defeat Brock as well ( with its Confusion skill ) .
If you're familiar with the later games of this series , you'll realize a lot of differences . You can hold only 20 different types of items at a time ( including PokeBalls and Key Items ) . And you gotta love the cheesy Pokemon graphics !
Despite some flaws that haven't been perfected until the later games of the series , this is still a classic game .
And I'm not a big fan of RPG style games , but this is the easiest and less stressful of them in my opinion . Recommended .

057 4 Pokemon Blue rules ! The starters are Bulbasaur , Charmander , and Squirtle , the thing is that when you get to get your first Pokemon you can only choose one . Bulbasaur is a Grass Type and it looks like a fat green cat with a big mouth and a bulb on its back . Charmander is an orange and yellow lizard-like Pokemon , its a Fire Type and has a flame on the tip of its tail . Squirtle ( I suggest this Pokemon to all ) is the WAter end of the deal , it looks like a turquoise turtle with an orageish-brown shell . your rival will always take the Pokemon with a type-advantage to yours . When you have Poke Balls you can start catching Pokemon , you do so by battling wild Pokemon and getting them down to a sliver of red health and going into Pack and getting yuor arrow to Poke Ball and pressing the A button .

I love this game ! ! ! ! I got it for a birthday present .
The Pokemon I got from Professor Oak is a Squirtle .
Some other Pokemon I have in this game :
- Pikachu
- Nidoking
- Victoreebel
- Vulpix

- Lapras
- Snorlax
- Tauros
- Kangaskhan
- Zapdos
- Cloyser
- Articuno
- Moltres
- Chansey
- Electrode
- Rhydon
- Dragonite
In this game you can find a Meowth to battle in the glasslands by Lavender Town and Celadon City , When I battle Meowth on the grassland by Celadon City , I feel like I'm battling Team Rocket's Meowth . I hate Team Rocket because they are evil , that they hurt pokemon . When I am battling Meowth by using one of my pokemon to knock it down , I blame Meowth for stealing Pikachu from Ash in the series and trying to mess up on Ash's friends Misty and Brock . Team Rocket should learn how to get away from Pikachu and stop bothering Ash , Misty , and Brock . Ash , Misty , and Brock are good trainers . When I play this game with my cousin , we go to the grassland by Celadon City to battle Meowth .
This Pokemon game is GREAT ! ! ! !

Hi people ,
Today I will be reviewing an awesome game that can work with the original Game Boy Platform . NOTE : this does not work with the OLD SCHOOL Stupid Nintendo DS Lite : P .
You start off the game in your house , then you walk out of your house and then southeast toward a patch of grass , then prof oak turns you in to a lab for the choice of 1 of 3 different trainer Pokemon .
Charmander = Level 16 Evolution = Charmeleon = Level 36 Evolution = Charizard ( Fire Flying ) ( strong )
Squirtle = Level 16 Evolution = Wartortle = Level 36 Evolution = Blastoise Water ( tough )
Ivysaur = Level 18 Evolution = Ivysaur = Level 32 Evolution = Venusaur Water ( Semistrong + Semitough )
after that you do a few chores for prof oak then get a few items go to the woods that lead to pewter , beat brock , then later the real challenge comes in , I used a level 100 Dewgong and totally owned Bruno with Aurora Beam .
Catch a Dewgong because it is better than a Blastoise .

084 4 I got this game for Christmas . I LOVE it ! I took Bulbasaur for my starter Pokemon . If you choose Bulbasaur ( like me ) your rival's starter Pokemon is Charmander . If you choose Squirtle your rival's starter Pokemon will be Bulbasaur and if you start with Charmander your rival's starter Pokemon will be a Squirtle . Pokemon is for boys AND girls . You would think Meowth would be able to learn HM1 ( Cut ) ! THis is a great game and it is perfect for people who have never played Pokemon before !

The reason that I think that this game is spectacular is that there is so much variety in the Pokemon . By variety I mean that there are different types . ( Example : Squirtle is a water type ) . When playing this game you feel like you're actually there telling Pokemon what move they should perform to win . Also , Pokemon can evolve to become more powerful and so that they may learn more moves . In other words this game is great and all who own a Game Boy , a Game Boy Pocket , and a Game Boy Color should by this game .

135 4 Pokemon Red and Blue .
Pokemon - Blue Version ( Game Cartridge )
The graphics are piss-poor but the game play and music rarely get better .
Bulbasaur is better than any other starter ever and always will be . Charmander was cute but not as cool . And Squirtle as adorable as he was was way too slow .
The madness never stopped in my house once me and my bro ( 22 and 16 now ) got these into our grubby paws . We did next to no trading , but tons of gaming .
20 Pokemon that are in this title are :
Bulbasaur , Starmie , Vulpix , Vileplume , Articuno , Electabuzz , Ponyta , Gloom , Tangela , Lickitung , Mewtwo , Chansey , Taurus , Jynx , Oddish , Golbat , Horsea , Dragonite and Magmar .

149 4 This game is great.Actually i'm just gonna talk about Missingo .
He is a glitch pokemon that can be quite powerful .
To be able to battle Missingo , you must first have FLY and SURF and take the pokemon that you taught those 2 with you.Go to Viridian City and talk to the man that shows you how to catch Pokemon . * * Sigh * * We all know how to catch a Pokemon but let him teach you anyways. When you're done talking to him , FLY to Cinnibar islands.Or you could go to a place with high level pokemon , THEN Fly to cinnibar.Go to the right side of the Gym door and use SURF.Don't be in a rush and press RIGHT.You have to swim up and down right next to the Gym so that it looks like you're swimming half on land and half on water. There should be Pokemon from the place you visited.Normally I visit the Dungeon to fight more high level pokemon. There's also L128 Cloysters. They are really powerful and they give a lot of Exp.points.If you catch one and use it in battle , it'll gain a level and it'll now be a L100 Cloyster. It's still quite powerful. Its attacks are Aurora Beam , Clamp , Spike Cannon , and Supersonic . ( I'm not sure if the last one is correct ) . * * Drumroll * * Now the reason why you did this. When you're about to fight a Missingo , the game will save ( I dont know why it does that ) . There's ' M ' ' thats a level 0 or level 80 Missingo but it just says ' M ' ' . The most powerful Missingo is L143 . It has a Sky attack and maybe 2 water gun attacks . * * * * * BEWARE * * * * * If you catch a Missingo the graphics for a battle will be all messed up.I attempted to catch a level 80 missingo and when I did it asked me if I wanted to give it a nickname.I said yes and named it SANTAclaus right after pressing END , it attacked my Kabutops. He still wasn't caught ( or was he ? ) . I threw another Great Ball and it said Ditto was Captured. When i looked at my pokemon , SANTAclaus was there ! ! ! the icon for it was a human.WOW.I had no more space so it got sent to Bill's PC ( Ditto ) . I had heard that when put in battle ( Missingo ) it would evolve into one of many pokemon. That's when i noticed the awful side-effects of catching a Missingo.I beat the opponent but nothing happened so Ii went to the closest PokeCenter and healed all my pokemon. Then i went to Bill's PC and put Missingo in a box , released him , logged off the PC , healed my pokemon again and saved the game.I quit then came back and the battle graphics had gone back to normal.YAY ! ! ! Well that's about all I know about Pokemon Blue.E-mail me if you have problems or have more information please .
156 4 This game is great . I played it for hours and couldn't stop . The plot though kind of boring kept me playing . ( I mean capturing , training , and battling pokemon thourghout the whole game ) I didn't get very far ( because it was my friend's game ) , but I did realize after seeing the Red version that you still only get to chose out of the same three pokemon in both games . ( Charmander , Squirtle , and Bulbasaur ) and even when I tried I couldn't seem to find a Pikachu . Also it's very addicting and could keep you from doing the things you should like homework or chores . So there is a down side but over all it a pretty good game .
171 4 If you like games you will love pokémon . It has everyting strategy , battle , etc . So if you like anykind of games pokémon is a must for you . And who ever said BLUE is easier than RED is nuts , they both have easy and hard things .
If u like games just click the button and buy it .
