Heroes: Season 3 [Blu-ray]

  • 009 4  Smell that ? That's the smell of a once great television show going straight down the crapper . Thanks to an unbelievably awful season 3 - there's really little point left in following the once brilliant Heroes . Over the course of this extremely disappointing season , Heroes devolved from a well written , exciting , must see television show into a frustrating exercise in viewer patience . Despite the hope that things would improve after a sub-par Season 2 , the exploits of the so called Heroes ( who really do nothing that even remotely resembles anything heroic ) yielded nothing but disappointment weak after excruciating weak . The first volume of Season 3 - Villains was excessively convoluted and drawn out-sans anything of any real substance happening . Characters also seemed to completely change personalities and flip flop their allegiances on a dime for no other reason than to suit the writer's purposes . Despite my hopes for an improved second volume with Fugitives things only got worse . With a premise that smacked of the completely ridiculous ( Nathan's wildly out of left field decision to betray all of his peers and condemn them all to imprisonment for starters ) Fugitives became a hard pill to swallow in every way imaginable . Despite a noticeable attempt to improve the show and right the ship in the last few episodes , the silly and hard to accept premise kept getting in the way . With the exception of the episode set in the Coyote Sands desert ( which was one of the few watchable episodes of the season ) Fugitives like Villains was a total wash . What I found most disappointing about Season 3 of Heroes however wasn't its silly and laughably-bad writing , or even its complete lack of direction-instead it was how the writers took some of most iconic and likable characters in television history ( Noah Bennet , Mohinder Suresh , Peter Patrelli , Matt Parkman ) and rendered them completely unlikable . Noah was consistently a two-faced jerk for the majority of the season and Suresh a whiney b * tch determined to work for the bad guy . Peter , the show's anchor went from being the most morally grounded hero on the show to a selfish allegiance-swapping loser with no honor at all and Matt finally revealed himself as a totally useless waste of a character . Even Claire was not immune with her character's all-talk , no-action stance on things . Outside of Hiro and Ando-by season's end there were no character's left who's stories I really cared about . And even the dynamic duo's story itself seemed to grow more silly and weak by the episode . ( Aren't they running out of ideas by now how to keep Hiro from having powers ? ) And it absolutely blows my mind that the show insists on bringing Ali Larter's characters ( all five hundred of them ) back to the show time and time again . I know ( or knew rather ) a lot of Heroes viewers who absolutely hate Nikki / Jessica / Tracy / etc . - this one included . Why on earth do they keep bringing her back when she has yet to serve any real purpose but to annoy so completely ? I find it interesting that the next volume in the series is called Redemption . With ratings plummeting and stories getting more silly , ridiculous & repetitious each season , and faithful viewers dropping off right and left , I hope there's truly some deeper meaning in that title . . . .
    • 001 4  There is no way around it : the first half of Season Three of HEROES was as bad as Season Two had been . And there was little hope that it was going to get better . But then it did . Much of the improvement might have been the result of one of the greatest tragedies of the 2008 - 2009 season , ABC's cancellation of one of the best shows in the history of television , PUSHING DAISIES . But one show's tragedy is another's great fortune . Bryan Fuller , who had been a consulting producer for HEROES in its first and promising season ( he was given writing credits on what is to this day by far the greatest HEROES episode ever , the brilliant Season One episode Company Man , was suddenly freed from PUSHING DAISIES , and was made the new show runner for HEROES after several producers and writers were released from the show . The improvement in the show was not instantaneous , but it was close . By the end of the season the show was as interesting as it had been in flashes in Season One . Whether it was Fuller or not , the show had by the end of Season Three begun to have a direction once again . Both Season Two and the first half of Three had seen the show go down a series of confusing and generally unpleasant directions . One story arc had minimal connection with what had gone before and all indications were that they were just making things up as they went along . And what they were making up simply wasn't very good . Has the show finally turned around ? If the difference has indeed been Bryan Fuller's involvement , it is entirely possible . I just know that by the end of Season Three I was actually looking forward to each episode again . For ages it was simply something I watched because I had been watching CHUCK . There has been a lot of debate about what went wrong with HEROES , about why it failed to fulfill the potential it displayed in its first season . My own opinion is that the show never took its own name seriously . The truth is that despite its title there were very , very few heroic characters . Having superpowers does not make someone a hero . Being heroic does . But most of the characters were not heroic and most of them struggled more with their own pettiness . And the writers kept taking characters down the most outrageous paths . Like the nerfing of Peter Petrelli , leaving him a defanged puppy . Or making a mess of every character that Ali Larter has played . But I have much higher hopes for Season Four . Almost all the high points of Seasons Two and Three took place in the second half of this season , after the time when Bryan Fuller took over as show runner . The show now seems to be moving in more interesting directions , and there were dramatically fewer oh , no ! moments . And in the struggle in the season finale , there was some genuine excitement and true heartfelt tragedy . My confidence in the show hasn't recovered entirely , but for the first time since Season One , I find that I care once again about what happens next .
    • 002 4  Many people have decided that Heroes is nothing ike the first season , and therefore , is a bad show . Some of the reviews constantly compare the show to the first season stating that the show will never , or has not , reached the potential of that season . While I agree , I would also like to give an unbiased review of Season 3 . Season three had two volumes : Volume 3 : Villains and Volume 4 : Fugitives . First , let's take a look at Vol . 3 . The volume took off from the ill-fated Season 2 ( Volume 2 ) ending and tried to make due with . It started off promising with Angela Petrelli manipulating Sylar into thinking he was her son , watching Arthur Petrelli rise to power , and even additions like Daphne made for some interesting story arcs . I liked the idea of the formula , just not how it was executed . And , I even liked the story arc for Hiro . However , my main gripe with this volume was the ret conning of well developed characters as well as the break in mythology . When they ret conned Elle's sociopathic character to be a good girl turned bad by the Company , I was devastated because Elle was a well developed character by the end of Season 2 . I also did not like how they tried to weasel her into Sylar's storyline by messing up the main impetus for Sylar's evilness that was developed in Season 1 . Then , the whole idea of the catalyst being Claire but no one taking note of it until Volume 3 was a little farfetched . That being said , I did not feel like the show was just so horrible it couldn't be redeemed . Thus , Volume 4 starts and gives us loyal fans , who understand that sci-fi shows take a few detours in trying to flesh out its mythology , we given some nice story arcs to love . I liked how the show began to go towards the Five Years Gone S1 episode future that many fans loved . I also was intrigued with the character of Danko and how he fit right in with the show . I like the flashback episode 1961 because it gave us some insight into the previous generation of Heroes , and I enjoyed Sylar's whole arc - - from the journey to find his father to finally getting the shape-shifting ability - - I thought they set his character up well . My gripes with this volume is that they took away Peter's ability and never gave it back . I am not sure why they did that , but it was a major thorn in my side . Also , they kind of acted like Vol 3 didn't happen . No mention of Arthur or Pinehearst , no mention of the formula or the catalyst , and they kind of didn't know what to do with Mohinder once he got an ability . Overall , the show was trying to find its footing again after the second season was cut short and they had to scrap together a season . I believe that the show is just as good as it was in S1 . The only thing is that the characters need motivation ( similar to the NYC explosion in S1 ) . However , I would not say that the show isn't as good as S1 because each season since has had it's own pitfalls , but it's triumphs as well . Thanks !
    • 004 4  HEROES and LOST are the 2 more ambitious grand scale Sci-Fi series on today's TV . They both have in common stunning visuals spiked by well executed special effects , relentless action , a lot of it brutal and violent , intriguing story lines occasionally hinting critically at today's social and political realities ( government-sponsored torture , the erosion of liberties , the roles played by large and secretive transnational corporations ) , large casts of great actors and the promise of getting at some core secret that would explain ' everything ' but which is always elusive . Of the two , HEROES seemed to be on the verge of self-dissolution last year , following a promising Season One . I am happy to see the series back on track with a vengeance on Season Three . - CONTENT HEROES Third season easily tops the first two seasons as the core that survived the frantic struggles of Seasons One and Two understand that ' normal life ' is not possible for those blessed or cursed with super powers , not when a government that's jealously trying to maintain its own monopoly on violence is after them and not when there are so many opportunities to ' save the world ' . The plot slowly shifts focus from the first 2 seasons ' HEROES vs . the Company to their constant running and hiding from a secret branch of ' Homeland Security ' determined to wipe them out but not before doing a little torture and experimentation on them . Not that what we would politically correctly call ' people with abilities ' are all angels . Most of them are not and the struggle continues between the good and the evil ones where the good ones sometimes turn evil and some of the evil ones turn ' good ' , permanently or only for an episode or two but , interestingly , the old ' company ' staff seems to be taking sides between the government and the HEROES and a lot of the plot is driven by their shifting loyalties and what appear to be their own personal agendas . I hope I will be forgiven but I really don't wish to give away any of the plot's twists and turns because . . . this season's HEROES is THAT good . It's also possible that most have already watched many or all the episodes on TV and already have an opinion on what HEROES 3 was about . It's probably a lot more productive to discuss the Blu-ray edition which I shall . My conclusion on ' content ' - following the somewhat disappointed ' amputated ' Season Two , this Season is a true treat . - PACKAGING To my surprise , after being spoiled by some other very tightly packed seasons , this Blu-ray box is quite large . While the 25 episodes where squeezed on only 5 disks , the box is thicker than I expected . On the positive side , the disks seem to be held securely in place by a new and innovative locking mechanism . There isn't anything other than the disks in the box but brief summaries for each of the 25 episodes can be found on both the back side and on the interior wall that does not hold disks . The folding carton that holds the disks slides inside a cardboard sleeve . - PICTURE AND SOUND As expected , it's 1080p video , 16 : 9 or 1.78 : 1 - meaning ' full screen ' on an HD TV set , no top and bottom bands . Some of the extra features may be in lower resolutions . The Sound is DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 with English Dolby Digital 2.0 on the features . - PRESENTATION AND PLAY The episodes , about 42 minutes each , run for close to 18 hours . The menu is relatively well designed but it's not perfect . The ' Play ' option will play all episodes on a specific disk but , at least on my PS3 , it could not resume play once interrupted . It was not possible to do a ' play all but start from the second episode ' . To do so , one would start with ' Play ' , then fast forward or press the chapter skip button to reach the desired start point . Or episodes could be played individually . Individual episodes are not broken into ' scenes ' in the menu . During play , one can take advance of U-Control which can be turned on or off by pressing one of the colored buttons . During playback , Picture in Picture provides cast and crew commentaries . I found this distracting and I was glad to see that it's possible to play the same commentaries separately from the menu . The other U-Control enhancement is the availability of Hero Connections ' post it ' like notes that pop on the screen and provide some information about a specific character that's meaningful within the context of the scene that's playing at the time . Each disk allows for the viewing of the updated Connections network separately from playback . BD-Live allows for the downloading of a Season 4 preview and , being ' live ' , it's possible that more features may become available in time . One annoying defect , at least on a PS3 is the playback becoming unresponsive once the Universal screen saver kicks in . After that , it's impossible to resume watching - pressing play / pause / fast-forward would return ' this feature is not available at this time ' and pressing STOP would get me out of the movie and force me to reload the disk . - SPECIAL FEATURES They are quite few and thin for this season and many are bad enough to almost cross into the ' unwatchable ' territory . After being spoiled with treats such as the story / legend of Takezo Kensei on Season 2 , this season's disappoint . There are the obligatory ' behind the scenes ' interviews but there is very little as far as ' creative content ' is concerned . The short Pinehearst Commercial reminded me of the similar feature we watched while waiting to enter the Terminator 3 - D show at the Universal Studios park in Florida and the Alternate Stories features are so bad , one wonders how they made it even as ' extra ' features . Same for the Deleted Scenes - clearly , they were deleted for a good reason and watching them proves the director's wisdom not to include them . - RATING CONTENT - 5 Stars PACKAGING - 4 Stars ( could have been thinner ) PICTURE - 5 Stars SOUND - 5 Stars PRESENTATION AND PLAYBACK - 3.5 Stars SPECIAL FEATURES - 2 Stars ( big disappointment ) OVERALL ( subjectively weighted average ) - 4 Stars
    • 006 4  Some Spoilers : Heroes season 3 stuffs so much in one season that it felt like 2 seasons in one . The first half was better though . How Sylar was used in the first half was brilliant . While the season could have used more of Robert Forster ( Jackie Brown ) in the 2nd half and he should have been in the series longer . He was fantastic as the Petrali father who wasn't really dead . He's evil and can steal powers by just touching people with abilities . He has a plan to give humans powers and is trying to have a drug created that can do that . I didn't like how key characters lost their powers though . The season would have been better if Hiro and Peter had there's for example . I like Peter more when he's just as powerful as Sylar . The 2nd half was good and had it's moments but even the season finale wasn't as good as it could have been . It was a brain twister but not even one that made sense , since Claire's blood could have just been used or Sylar's . That's all I'll say about that . But it does make you at least interested in seeing what will happen next .
    • 007 4  Season 3 of this once great show continues the decline . And instead of one story arc , it contains two distinct stories . In Villains , there is a mass escape of villains from Level 5 , a detention facility used by The Company to house evil people with superpowers . Noah Bennett ( Jack Coleman ) gets to work trying to track them down . He's surprised to see his new partner is Sylar ( Zachary Quinto ) who is trying to give up his murderous ways and get back on the straight and narrow . Can they catch these bad men ? Will Sylar remain a hero ? The second half of the season found our characters on the run . Fugitives found now Senator Nathan Petrelli ( Adrian Pasdar ) heading a task force aimed at bringing all those with special powers in for their own protection . Of course , he's failed to mention his own unique powers . Leading the charge against him is his own brother Peter ( Milo Ventimiglia ) . Will Nathan see the error of his ways before everyone is captured or killed ? The problem with this season lay in the story telling . When the show was actually good ( back in season 1 ) , the episodes spent time with the characters , letting us get to know them so we cared about what they were doing or why . That really drew me in . Here , we are forced plot points with cardboard characters . Heck , I had a hard time keeping track of who was doing what to whom it changed so often . And I just don't care about the characters the way I used to because there is no depth to them . Then there's the case of Sylar . Don't get me wrong , I think Zachary Quinto is a great actor . But the way they keep including that character in events is forced and makes me wonder if we'll ever actually go somewhere with the story . Yes , I am still intrigued to see where they are going next to keep watching , but just barely . They seriously need to make some tough decisions about how to best move the story forward and then stick to it , or they will continue to lose their audience .
    • 013 4  This is closer to what the 2nd season should have been , with evil villains and a few questions answered . Is it as good as the first season ? No , not even that close . Is it much better then the 2nd ? Yes , and well worth watching again . While I can not recommend this to everyone , if you could watch season two without grumbling ( much ) then season 3 will probably be a light at the end of the tunnel . If season two was complete garbage and turned you off the series completely , I'm not sure if this will bring you back .
    • 014 4  This is really two mini-seasons . There are two separate story arcs in this season ; when one ends , the next part begins . I think you can actually skip the entire first story arc , pick up where the second one begins ( episode 14 ) , and not feel like you missed much . Which is good , because the first story arc , quite frankly , sucked . A lot . The theme of the first story arc is , in every hero , there could be a villain . This is true , and to try to show us this in a story is a laudable goal . That said , there is a good way to do this , and a bad way to do this . The good way is to have one or two heroes go through something that causes them emotional turmoil , and either pushes them to compromise their values , or pushes a hero's existing character trait to an extreme , until what was a good or neutral character trait becomes evil . Then make them live with the consequences . The bad way is to just randomly change * everybody's * values and motivations for no apparent reason whatsoever , until we no longer know , or care , who anybody is or what happens to them . Two guesses which way the powers that be decided to go with . My parents mentioned that they got so far into this season , and realized that it was actually a chore , watching Heroes . They no longer cared about any of the characters . So they stopped watching . I stuck it out , even though I agreed with my parents that watching the show had become a chore . I'm quite glad I did . The second story arc was much better . Kind of on par with the second season ( which I didn't think was that bad ) . Not as good as S1 , of course , but as good as S1 is a really high standard to hold . I was satisfied with it being a major , major improvement over the first story arc of the season . In the second story arc , the characters returned to being recognizably themselves . That is , Peter once again acted like Peter , Hiro was Hiro , Ando was Ando , Claire had grown up , but was still Claire , etc . Of my needs when I'm watching a series , this is the most important - that I be able to know the characters and feel for them . For that to happen , they ( the characters ) need to be themselves , not whoever the writers decide they need to be that week . They can change over time , IF IT MAKES SENSE . But even then , the characters still , fundamentally , need to be themselves . They need to be real . This is especially true in a fantasy story , where suspension of disbelief depends entirely on our ability to believe in , and identify with , the characters as people . The writers seemed to forget this in the first half of the season , then remember it again during the second half . And so , I have high hopes for next season again .
    • 019 4  I love Heroes - and this season did not disapoint . It's a bit convuluted at times , and the beginning is a little weird , but it gets really great by the end . I love the characters , the plotlines , the story - it's fantastic . I'd definitely suggest you watch it if you're a fan of the series . And it's great to own . The special features aren't that amazing , but they're pretty good . The deleted scenes can be interesting , since sometimes they explain things that they leave out of the show . So that's cool . Amazon.com is great . BUY THIS . 3 : )
    • 023 4  My husband and I just love the Heroes show . We got hooked on the show late . This is why I have purchased the second and third season just now . We love this show and the Secion three disc arrived in a timely manner and the product was new and unopened in good quality . Thanks
    • 029 4  I was quite impressed with the first season of Heroes , but a lot of what happens in the series makes you shake your head . . . and the shaking increases with each season . Every time I've picked up the new season of Heroes , I've had to go back to the NBC recap site to find out what exactly happened at the end of the previous season . This sort of thing never happens with other shows , but after nine or twelve months between season viewings of Heroes , I've got to go back for a refresher . The way the show jumps around in time and space and with certain characters dying / coming back or gaining / losing powers , it's a little hard to keep track . And thus began season 3 . The amount of disbelief that must be withheld in order to enjoy season 3 is astounding . One guy I won't identify pops through space and time stealing people's powers yet , for some reason , he also chooses to have an entourage of people with powers . Why not just take everyone's powers a la Sylar ? And speaking of Sylar , he continues to be one of the more interesting ( albeit somewhat annoying ) characters on the show as , this season , he seeks out his real parents and some sort of identity while continuing to expand his powers . Noah Bennett and Matt Parkman are , hands down , the best and most likeable characters on the show , with Hiro and Ando coming in second . That Petrelli family - - not to mention Ali Larter's character - - will bug the pants off you . There is , however , a new character named Danko introduced who is quite interesting . He's a powerless human enlisted by Nathan Petrelli to hunt down people with abilities . There are some interesting and welcome developments with the Bennett family this season . I won't spoil it for you , but let me say that the season finale just might cause you to stop watching the show . Massive head shake there . Despite that , I'll go on to watch season 4 , but some friends of mine have sworn off Heroes forever . Look for Clint Howard and William Katt in small roles . Worth a watch , but leave a lot of disbelief at the door .
    • 056 4  The show is great . The plastic holder for the discs are very cheap . First set came all broken with lots of plastic pieces everywhere . Second one send by Amazon was in good state . Although , the box is made with very cheap materials , so it will be very likely you will break the disc holder pieces while manipulating the discs . Also the discs , you can see through them not even facing towards light . Seems like it is a bare disc without protective layer on the top . I'm afraid this discs wont last long . They look really really cheap material , even for a CD . Reminds me of 10 cents CD-Rs . . . . Good thing Amazon was kind enough to let me keep both sets ( live outside US , yay . . . had to pay 12 $ for the shipment the 1st time and 12 $ for the same set the 2nd time . . . . wish I lived in the US ) , hopefully if some of the discs go bad , I got a 2nd set there as backup . . .
    • 061 4  The show in general ( all 4 seasons ) is very good . The characters are diverse and the show is action-packed . Every couple episodes you'll find your self questioning who really are the good guys and more importantly who are the bad ones . The only reasons it gets 4 stars and not 5 is A . ) Plot lines start to get repetitive and B . ) It almost seems as if directors are running out of material and trying to stretch the show along . But even that seems a little harsh . All in all its a good show worth watching .
    • 063 4  Heroes season 3 was good but a bit confusion , If think they had not had so many characters it could have been even better then season 3 . The i have purchased are in good condition , No problems whatsoever . I am an international customer and they delivered the item in time .
    • 069 4  Every season ( yes , even the first ) , I threatened to quit watching , as the show failed to deliver on its initial promise , then got worse , then got even worse yet . Finally , halfway through the third season , I did give it up , and thank goodness for that extra hour in my week ! Even if that hour is spent just watching reruns of better shows , it's time well spent . I can't believe this show is still around , sucking money out of a failing network . I wish the NBC execs had Hiro's power so they could go back in time , pick up The 4400 instead , and give us a proper ending to that show . . . it may not have been perfect television , but it was much , much better than Heroes . Heroes is an example of screenwriting at its worst - convoluted storytelling that is hard to follow , fails to offer any reason to even try , reinvents characters constantly and for no good reason , and attempts to pass off silly , insipid plotlines as real drama . It somehow manages to bore , confuse and frustrate at the same time , and I'm quite surprised that anyone still watches it . Even some of the less negative reviews here say things to the effect of after a bad second season and first half of this season it finally picked up a bit , so here's hoping season four . . . . How have we come to value our time so little that we're willing to watch repeatedly bad shows , waiting for them to improve ? I'm guilty of it too , but when I catch myself doing it , I feel very foolish . And after suffering through a trip to feudal Japan , a totally random desert vision quest , and the rest of the stupid storytelling thrown at us by Heroes , hopefully I've learned my lesson .
    • 070 4  Lately it seems that my favorite show HEROES has only been getting better . Season 3 was exhilarating . It was entertaining action-packed suspense-filled shocking and most of all a huge blast of FUN ! I know very well their are those who have expressed dislike for this season along with the last one but I would like to say why I believe these statements are lost on HEROES . 1 ) People complained that this season had bad character development when some complained that when season 2 delved more into character development people cried for more action so really if you complained about that this season don't say you never requested it on the show because most of you did no offense 2 ) people complained that in the 1st half entitled VILLANS the main ensemble characters ( ie Peter , Nathan claire ) acted out of character i find this untrue . Although our heroes took darker paths this season as demonstrated by peter after obtaining sylar's abilite and claire trying to help hunt down the level 5 baddies these were not uncommon . Given the situation and our character's historys in seasons 1 and 2 these types of descisions and choices weren't so off-base escepially given the atmosphere of the volume ( it was called villans for a reason ) 3 ) the season 3 finale's ending this year also gained some rocky reviews . I trust any negative reviews for that episode came from the sylar / nathan twist that occured . Guys believe me clarie's blood wouldn't have helped Nathan he was way too wounded for it to work at this point . Overall Heroes season 3 was a fantastic season and season 4 is definitely something i'm tuning in for .
    • 072 4  For the record , this induction didn't come easy . For while it's easy to banish the latest Simon Cowell spawned atrocity to the Official Room 101 of Amazon , adding Heroes was something I really did have to ponder over . Because , really , in today's climate of stagnant reality , make-over , celebrity , dancing and singing infested television , a show that strives to capture its audience through an often baffling and layered series of story arcs , a show with a competent cast and superb effects should surely be applauded ? And it's about SUPER HEROES ! And there's a smoking hot blonde running around in a cheerleader outfit ! How could it not be amazing ? Don't ask me , but Heroes somehow managed it . In fact , Heroes is a solid golden bucket of fail . It could be great , it should be great - but all it manages to be , at best , is average . On the whole , though , it's po-faced , tedious , self important and boring . How the hell do you make a show based on super heroes BORING ? Oh , I know ; by making the blandest , most two dimensional characters in the history of television . Sylar aside ( and that's often at a push ) , the best characters in this show don't even have super powers . Think about it . I'm right . Here's something to think about . When Heroes started , the word on the street was that it was The New Lost , and that's so preposterous it's not even funny . Lost is smart , funny , touching , scary , exciting . . it's got characters and dialogue that Heroes could only dream of . Lost had every single person on the edge of their damn seats wanting to see what was DOWN A HOLE . That was it . In Heroes people die , get reborn , get blown up , go back in time , go forward in time - and it's a Herculean effort just trying to care . The difference , my friends ? It's all in the writing . For while Heroes has a good cast , a good premise and a ton of money thrown at it , the boring , flat characters , the time travel premise that's tied the show up in knots and effectively made it worthless ( hey Hiro , why not go back in time and , I dunno , kill Hitler or something ? Or why not go back and stop every single thing you don't want to happen ? ) the crucial lack of any real pacing that could give the show some surprises ( oh no ! Noah's dead ! Oh wait , he's not . In the same damn episode ! ) and the laughably overlong storylines ( it's Hiro , in Medieval Japan , for the entire second season - just what no-one wanted ) make this show a frustrating , unrewarding , ho-hum experience . And really , yeah we've got reality garbage coming out of our ears , but in an age where smart , funny , brilliantly written shows like Lost , Dexter , Burn Notice and Californication are on the air , Heroes just seems like a chore . Hell , even Journeyman was better than this . So whilst I fully expect 1000 negative marks from the zealots and the over-protective nerds for adding Heroes to the sin bin , you know it's only because the truth hurts .
    • 078 4  I will admit that the first arc of the third season had me scanning any and all bodies of water for the Fonz , but as the show progressed I was much happier . My biggest problem with the season is because of Mohinder who immediately goes out of character and starts acting ridiculously . It was also disappointing that the show worked to develop Sylar into more of a good guy in the first half only to decide that he should just be evil for evil's sake . He's still one of my favorite characters , but I greatly enjoyed his journey to become a good person and I was let down when the creators abruptly scrapped it . The overall storyline of the two arcs is very interesting in my opinion and I was thrilled to see that more attention was paid to Angela . HRG also continues to be one of the most fascinating characters and the exploration of his relationship with Sandra and Claire was one of the more intriguing parts of the second arc . Of course , pretty much all of the characters had moments of intensity where I was drawn in , but I won't go into all of them . I know that a lot of people think that the show has been awful since the end of season one , ( season two is my least favorite easily ) but season three is definitely worth a watch . The characters on their own are worth it .
    • 080 4  I was always backing season 3 despite the naysayers . I agree the first half has rough spots but still good and the second half made up for it big time . As many here have discussed the season itself , I wanted to focus on the extras , which are amazing . * First , EVERY episode has an audio commentary with various cast and crew members rotating around. The discussions can be lively on behind the scenes stuff , how they work the show on camera and how the plans for season 3 shifted due to season 2 being cut down . It's fun hearing Brian Fuller speak on being back and the actors have obvious fun talking about working on the show and the great insight adds to things . * There 41 deleted scenes spread out among the discs , many of which do fill in plot holes such as the fate of the doctor who treated Nikki / Tracy / Barbara and what happened to Molly . The best ones explore the background of Knox and his surprising links to another Hero . * There are two of the webisode series : Going Postal was the first showing a man with a unique power while Nowhere Man focuses on the Puppet Master trying to live a normal life but unable to hide his own darkeness . I thought The Rookie would be on there as it ties in to season 3 but these are good . * Stunt master Tim Gilbert shows the working of stunts on the show and how the actors really get into doing a lot of stuff themselves . * The FX guys talk about the challenges of creating visual effects that are as real world as can be ( how does a person flying or freezing in seconds really look , etc ) and some big stuff like the destruction of Tokyo in the first episode . * Prop Box looks at all the props the series has and how they never throw anything away since you don't know when they'll use it again . * Genetics of a Scene focuses on four scenes over the series : The Claire / Sylar confrontation and the fake head Hayden needed ; how they create the effects for Hiro freezing time around Daphne in the office ; Matt working his thoughts on Danko on the street ; and Beeman directing a Sylar / Danko scene . Pretty cool seeing how those all work and the care put into them . * Tim Kring and other writers discuss how their plans for season 3 shifted about and what they tried to do and I think a lot of the naysayers may be swayed by the fact they really wanted to please the fans here . It's also interesting to hear how some ideas changed like how several episodes of volume 4 were to take place in a super prison but they decided it was better to keep the characters on the run . * There's also a gallery of all the Tim Sale artwork used during the season . Overall , an amazing extras set that enhances an already fine season and provides even more entertainment for a Heroes fan .
    • 087 4  Other people have said it here , but I will repeat it . Season 3 is OUTSTANDING . Critical character developments in season 4 are foreshadowed in season 3 . I just hope they take this to the limit in season 5 . What is a hero ? What does it take to become one ? Are you just made , or do you have to work for it ? Is the triumph of the soul measured by the perfect being , who was born generally good with a fairly good life ? Or is the triumph of the spirit best measured by it's difficulty in achievement , and through the change from the grossly imperfect into the more truly perfect ; is it best told through the eyes of one who will know the difference , because he has had to pay the greater price to become a hero by overcoming the greatest challenge of all - himself . Questions about what a hero is , are the crux of this show ; and it's slow development into a classical consideration of the definition of hero and it's use of archetypal figures to tell the story will make this show unforgettable over time . Heroes has ended up becoming a story for the ages . I disagree with the highlighted reviewer in his interpretation of what a Hero is . Thankfully the writers agree with me , and not with him . A hero as classically defined is not flawless . The hero struggles with inner demons . The hero does not always win . And sometimes , you have to fight to become one . A great show-runner will develop a show for the talent they have , not for the talent they wish they had . This is why season 3 succeeds so brilliantly and comes to a climax at the end . It is very very good . I came to the show late . I watched it from start to finish this winter ( 2010 ) , including downloading season 4 from another online pay service . I agree season 1 is good . But it doesn't hold a candle to season 3 which has you clapping at times , laughing at others , and wanting to cry for the tragedy of the hero who hasn't made it . It can break your heart . It's riveting . Two thumbs up to the producers of Heroes . Bring on season 5 . I love the show so much , I am going to purchase season 4 on DVD so i can have it in a format that isn't digital , and could therefore be lost to a hard drive failure .
    • 099 4  Heroes season 3 ( insert super sigh here ! ) . What can I say ? The stories started off so well in Season 1 , in Season 2 , writer's strike cut the momentum pace of the entire plot and twisted it into Season 3 . They wanted to give the audiences everything they asked for and in the end , ended up with a completely confusing and convoluted plot that have us fans reeling from headaches , and trying to figure out which time-line is the prime time-line . To my utter horror , I never expected season 3 to end up like that ! It was just completely nonsensical to begin with . Sylar's character was developing nicely , how he was slowly changing to the good side , and then the sudden twist while searching for his real dad . I was totally disappointed with that storyline . Come on writers , you could have done so much more , or did the writer's strike just short circuit all those creative juices to begin with ? Cheesy dialogs and switching every Heroes ' powers , that was such a smart thing to do . I liked Peter Petrelli the way he was before his dad changed everything . Please put things back to the way they were ! The shifts in alliances for Noah Bennett were also just overly confusing . He was , he wasn't , I don't know anymore . The plots were either borrowed or stolen from Uncanny X-Men , or other comic storylines , where they wanted to register mutants and keep them controlled . Although I have to admit , even the actors themselves tried to hold the storyline together , and they did a great job this season acting out what they were suppose to . But sad to say , it was all for nothing . I have to admit that I got lost in the convoluted plot halfway through season 3 and switched to watching Fringe instead , now , at least that series had some promise !
    • 101 4  Oh , how the mighty have fallen . After debuting as one of the most buzzed about shows on network TV , Heroes continues to die its slow , agonizing death , steadily wearing out its welcome and any good-will fans may have left for it . The show's third season is so * frustrating * to watch , because there is potential for greatness that is completely squandered by inept storytelling and acting . The first of the season's two main arcs focuses on a myserious formula that can grant normal humans Abilities ( superpowers for those not versed in Heroes lore ) . But a glimpse into the future reveals that this formula may bring about a post-apocalyptic future where the good guys are dead or evil , and so the present heroes work frantically to prevent the formula from getting out . The second half of the season deals with the fallout of these events , which have caused the US government to begin rounding up and imprisoning anyone with Abilities in less selective version of Angela Petrelli's Company ( which only locked up violent individuals ) . Both of these ideas are cribbed from the X-Men comics ( no matter what anyone tries to tell you , this show * is * X-Men without the costumes ) , making it all the more baffling that the writers can't tell a decent story . These ideas have been explored and fleshed out before ; it shouldn't be too much effort to recast and retell them for a new audience , maybe with a twist or two . But the writers completely fail on that end , instead offering up nonsensical plots too reliant on shocking twists with no basis in the reality of the show's universe . They also attempt to juggle multiple plotlines involving different characters , but their insistance ( contractual obligation ? ) to give everyone screentime in every episode leads to awkward pacing , scenes that are more like outlines than fully realized drama , and a lack of true depth and character development . And any time an interesting idea comes along , they suddenly backtrack and try to pretend it didn't happen . What's this ? Sylar may actually be feeling remorse for all his misdeeds , and is trying to change while struggling his is inate need to acquire more Abilities through grisly murder ? A fascinating chance to develope his character into a tortured anti-hero . But instead , let's have him suddenly revert back to a megalomaniacal villain for no real reason , because that's how he was in Season 1 when the show was good . One of the series regulars has been killed in the line of duty ? How shocking and sad , until that same character comes back to life 10 minutes later . Which brings me to my biggest complaint about the show : it seems stuck . The overwhelming consensus , even among fans , is that the first season was by far the best . It's as if the writers know this , but don't quite understand what made the first season work and so they're do their best to keep everything ( alliances , attitudes , conflicts ) as it was in hopes of recapturing that magic . But to keep the show interesting , things need to PROGRESS . Characters should grow and change ( and sometimes die ) . They should show psychological depth and real motivation for their actions . They need complex and interesting relationships with one another , relationships that change and grow as time goes on . This is what audiences want to see , not an inferior retread of ground already covered . In short , I do not recommend wasting hard-earned cash on this set . There are other shows out there that do everything Heroes attempts but with far greater success . LOST is a much better example of how to do compelling character drama in genre trappings . 24 does an excellent job of telling an entertaining ( if outlandish ) yarn based of surprise plot twists . The only people who * might * enjoy this set are die-hard Heroes fantatics , and even they are probably better off without this season to sour their opinion of the show . If you must watch this season , rent it , and pray that next season the show either a ) improves ; or b ) ends .
    • 103 4  The third season of Heroes was a complete mess . The season started off in a fairly strong manner , with the heroes targeted by the government and having to work together to escape . However , this compelling idea was abandoned after a few episodes , with the heroes once again scattering all over the globe with separate ( and uninspiring ) plotlines . What the producers and writers consistently fail to understand is that the fans of the show enjoy seeing the heroes work together , and not in the same predictable pairings ( Ando & Hiro , Peter & Nathan , etc . ) . By the end of the season , I really had no idea what the main plotline was and why I should care about any of it . Heroes started as a fresh , clever series filled with interesting characters , and the producers showed a willingness to add new characters to help prevent things from getting stale . Unfortunately , the producers and writers really lost the thread by the third season , stubbornly sticking with the same cast of heroes , long past their expiration date . Particularly frustrating was their stubborn insistence on focusing on Sylar as the main villian ; I enjoyed Sylar during the first two seasons but having a nearly unbeatable foe makes the rest of the cast look weak . Instead of introducing new heroes , each week brought new alliances between the heroes that quickly dissolved before they really could be explored . One week Noah and Sylar are working together , then they're enemies ; the next week Nathan and Peter have reunited , then they're enemies ; shampoo , rinse , and repeat . Keeping up with these shifting alliances was dizzying and tiresome . Likewise , all pretences of continuity have been abandoned in favor of ending each episode with a shocking conclusion . I'll watch at least the first few episodes of Season 4 of Heroes , as I feel a certain obligation given the time I've already invested in the series . Also , I do still care a bit about a few of the characters , despite being jerked around by the inconsistent writing of the series . However , I find that I can no longer recommend the series as a whole to new watchers , which is something I did prior to this season .
    • 105 4  Heroes - Season 3 did start somewhat weak , but picked up around the middle of season . As in previous seasons , there are multiple plot threads running concurrently and it is now easier to see how many of them are interconnected due to more familiarity with the core characters . The strong collection of actors are a great asset to this series and really helped to retain viewership through the slow second season and into the beginning of season three . When the plots and scripts are good they really make this show worth watching . We enjoy watching Heroes on DVD since it gives us flexibility around our family schedules . This is a good release and the DVD extras provide some decent insight to how the episodes come together . Recommended for fans of the series .
    • 117 4  Its a good season , not great . . . . . . but its fine . if you like this kind of shows , so you may like it . . .
    • 119 4  Let me sum it up like this . When HEROES first aired on TV it quickly grabbed the imaginations of the people who tuned in . The show was brilliant right from the start . Season 1 ended and we were anxiously awaiting season 2 . The problem with season 2 was WHAT ? How many of you remember the writers strike ? HEROES ( like so many TV shows ) suffered . Sadly the show lost viewers . Then came season 3 . They learnt from the mistakes from season 2 ( which is a nice season ) and delivered the goods . Many plot twists and turns . Who will become good . Who will be evil . The series ended tonight ( and I must say it makes me sad ) but season 3 is totally brilliant . I am hoping for a season 4 and possibly season 5 . Do yourself a favor and buy this when it comes on DVD . Trust me you will not be disappointed .
    • 120 4  I am going to cut to the chase . This is how you want Heroes . Minus the fact that a lot of the cool characters are getting killed off , this show rocks . I don't know why people hated the second season , but if you did , you should know that season 3 is nothing like season 2 . It is done accordingly , so that all who hated season 2 will LOVE season 3 . If you drifted away ( don't know why you would ) from the show , season 3 is MORE than enough to rekindle your interest . They should call this season Sylar , because it revolves around him . That's what all the season 2 haters wanted , and now you have it . Stop bitching and buy season 3 . It rocks , and there is no reason why you should not be totally into it . If you don't think it's awesome , then you have no sense . It rocks and rocks hard . Season 3 gets 5 stars and my highest recommendation . It simply does not get any better than this !
    • 133 4  A lot of critics and fans enjoyed bashing this show last year , and I found myself never agreeing with them . I had such a good time watching this . It's one of my favorite shows of all time ! Why ? The dynamic of the tight-knit families ( Petrelli's and Bennett's ) that are pulled apart and put back together - I really enjoy this most of all . I enjoy state-of-the-art special effects . There are two Volumes represented here , and they are so drastically different . They are always suspenseful , and visually stunning . I have persuaded many people to watch the show this year , starting at the beginning , with Season One . ( I should be paid for this , but it is a labor of love . ) I get nothing but positive response . I naturally want friends ( and those reading this ) to enter the door that is Heroes . What a fun , fantastic journey ! The end of this whole Season had me pulling my hair out in suspense all summer - it is a plot twist that I think is totally original for TV . Some of us have to wait until Sept . 21 , 2009 when the new Season 4 is upon us to find out what happens ! Of note : Some gory scenes in this show , but nothing that couldn't be shown on primetime TV . Thanks for reading !

    • 140 4  My god , how far can a series that was once number one in the ratings fall in terms of quality ? The answer to that my friends is in Heroes Season 3 . I'll try to summarize my points . Normally I would be afraid of posting spoilers , but there is NOTHING to spoil ! 1 ) Season three picks up with Noah Bennett captured and imprisoned in Level 5 of the Company . WTF ! ? Wasn't he going back to work for the Company in order to protect his family ? How did he get put in level 5 ? This is never explained . 2 ) The muscle mimic girl from season 2 is just gone . Totally phased out . Hello ! this isn't Married w / Children ! You can't just drop a character with no explanation ! BTW , I love Married w / Children . 3 ) Not a mention of the virus that was to wipe out mankind in the future . Nothing . This plot is totally nonexistent in this season . 4 ) Mohinder . Wow , talk about destroying a character . Damn , this guy has no depth or interest now . He injects himself with a serum hoping to find the antidote for the genetic mutation that gives people abilities , but instead ends up turning himself into some weird insectoid creature . Just think of scenes from the Fly with Jeff Goldblum . 5 ) Ok , this is the best . They try to turn Sylar into the son of the Petrelli parents ! HAHAHA ! OMG ! Then when that didn't work out so well , they fired the two head writers of the series and tried to erase their mistake by saying that the Petrellis were trying to trick Sylar . 6 ) They killed off all the supervillains from the previous two seasons . Parkman's dad , Adam Monroe , and eventually Father Petrelli . Basically , the plot in the first half of the season revolves around the Petrellis dad still being alive and then going out for revenge on all those who opposed him . Ugh , if you want to waste a few brain cells go ahead and watch this season . If you haven't seen it already , don't bother .
    • 141 4  There is no way around it : the first half of Season Three of HEROES was as bad as Season Two had been . I don't know what to anticipate for Season Four . While Season Three may have had much to do with Bryan Fuller returning , he unfortunately has left HEROES once again to develop a new , as yet unannounced , series . My lone reason for hope is the widespread belief that this once promising show has failed to meet its initial expectations . Some talented people remain attached to the project . Hopefully they will pool their resources and produce something worth our time and effort . Last comment : the retail price for the Blu-ray is absurd . I buy most of my shows on Blu-ray these days . I'm struggling internally as to whether to buy HEROES in DVD or Blu-ray . I don't think any series can justify asking us to spend over $45 for Blu-ray . I'll make my decision just before it comes out . If the price drops to around $45 I'll get it on Blu-ray . If not , DVD .
    • 144 4  Yes , apparently season 2 wasn't the worst of Heroes we were going to see . As we all know , the series started strong but disappointed with the season 1 finale . Then season 2 came along and didn't quite work , though it added some good actors ( David Anders , Kristen Bell ) . And now season 3 does not only ' not quite work ' , it's also boring , unbelievable and just plain stupid . The series ' problem is the writing : Too often the stories are full of plot holes . Characters have abilities the writers suddenly forget about . There are revelations that just feel hollow ( I really don't care anymore who whose mother or father is ) . And all in all , the series just goes nowhere . The second half of the season is a bit better , but there are many more moments that just seem pointles : The wedding is the biggest joke yet , so is Sylar's quest to meet his father . One or two episodes near the end are a little bit better ( the best one in my opinion is ' 1961 ' , though that storyline also doesn't really matter ) , but I don't think the beginning of volume 5 at the end is a shape of better things to come . During the course of the season , I was reminded of another series that also had such a dramatic decline in quality . It was called Earth : Final Conflict . Remember that one ? It started with very strong episodes and seemed like it was all thought through , and then suddenly with season 2 the writers just lost it . They had heroes with superpowers they sometimes forgot about , they wrote episodes contradicting each other , well . . . it's the 90s Heroes . And just as I didn't continue watching Earth , I will stop watching Heroes starting with season 4 . I just can't stand this show anymore .
    • 145 4  The first half of this season , volume 3 , is just a general maze of confusion . The writers put in too many storylines that lead nowhere or were marginally related , and it left the whole thing with too little cohesion . It definitely has the feeling of being made up as it went along . It had so many wtf just happened ? moments that , even though I saw every episode , I'm still not really sure why or how somethings happened . The real tragedy of this is that the writers wasted about four ideas , all of which would have made a good season , because they tried to do them all simultaneously . This leaves each plot line with too little time to develop , and the characters left running around frantically trying to cope with all of the things that were going on . This season could have literally made at least two , and possibly three , good seasons , if the writers hadn't been doing so much simultaneously . That being said , the second half of the season was much better . The plot was more focused , with really just a couple of things going on ( one for the good guys and one for Sylar , who is quickly becoming almost Wolverine-ish in how overused he is . ) It answered some questions , some people died , and basically brought back the enjoyment we had in season 1 ( and might have had in season 2 if it hadn't been for the strike . ) Even though I think this is a fantastic show overall , I have to give the first half of the season a 1 / 5 , but the second half a 4 / 5 . Hopefully the writers will do a few things to make sure the show stays good in the next season . Specifically : plan things out from the beginning - - it's not ok just to make things up as you go along ; don't be afraid to introduce new characters and let them live for more than one episode ; let the good guys actually be good guys - - no more amnesia , loss of powers , or general whininess ; and finally , we've all had enough of Sylar . In the list of interesting bad guys , he's not even in the top 50 . This isn't Heroes : The Sylar Show .
    • 149 4  I was very excited to get back into Heroes post writers strike . When the whole advertising campaign is about the coming of villains anyone would be excited . When season 3 began it was without a doubt cool to see a more realistic view of classic comic book villainy in a real world setting . Yet as the season moves on the new villains are quickly picked off and we are pretty much stuck with the same cast of characters trying to figure out what side they are on . Another plus on this season is the character development of Sylar and how he tries to truly figure out where he comes from and why he has the power to kill . Unfortunately the plot is just way too confusing especially when Nathan decides to start hunting all the Specials down and put them in detainment camps . Though the ending is pretty cool as the main characters dive into a very mysterious part of their past and figure out how this whole story began . Even after that there are still many more questions to be answered . Personally I think a show like Heroes is great , but at this point I am wondering what season 4 is going to bring because this show is really starting to go downhill .
    • 173 4  There's an odd phenomena among Geeks wherein a small group of Fanboys will latch onto a Television series , be it Lost , Heroes , or The Office , and then absolutely refuse to accept that the show has tanked . It's like they cannot deal with losing the one thing that connected them to popular culture . . . . and so it is with Heroes . Nobody actually likes this show anymore . The only people left watching are a handful of sad , lonely nerds , desperately clinging to the memories of bygone days when they had something to talk about with normal people .

  • 025 4  This season even surpassed the special effects of season 1 . Season 1 was good , Season 2 was sub par , but if you spaced it out into weekly episodes I'd say that season 2 would be boring as hell . Season 3 more than made up for it IMO . But the absolute worst thing I think they did was kill off the character Adam Monroe . I mean he had 4 centuries of life experience , and along with his ability of cellular regeneration , was probably the most interesting character . After the first volume of season 3 , the only character left with multiple abilities was Sylar , and it was all consisting of the government rounding all of them up . It could've been called , The Sylar Show , as Sylar was the main focal point . In the middle of the season , I think the writers ' came to the conclusion that with Peter having god-like abilities , would write themselves into a corner , I mean , how can you write a logical-sounding story around a guy like that ? I mean basically they had to de-power Peter as the bad guys wouldn't get to do their thing before Peter would barge in and give them the smack down . Season 2 was pushing the envelope of believability with godly Peter . #1 . Why didn't he read Adam's mind and then he'd find out that Adam's using him ? #2 . Why did he exert so much energy getting the safe door open , why not just teleport inside ? And there's more issues I can take with that . My point is the writers ' had to take Peter's abilities away totally , or in this case , greatly reduce them so that opposing character's have a chance . I think they did it in a brilliant way , with Arthur his father stealing them . Overall , excellent season to a superb series . It's just a shame this stellar series will probably get the axe . But in order to understand what is going on , you would have to see the entire series from the start .
    • 031 4  So , after a short 2nd season due to a writers strike , I think the writers sat down and tried to kick the pace back up and try to get the show back on course . The first half of the season was , I thought , a bit weak . It wasn't really bad , just not very strong story-wise . The second half I thought was good . I think had season two been longer , we would have gotten volume 3 then and it may have been written a bit different . But , I thought volume 4 was well done and strongly written . I wasn't too big on the Sylar finding daddy storyline . I flip-flop on the Arthur Petrelli storyline ; I like it , but I don't think it was executed as well as it could have . I don't know , overall this season isn't as strong as it should have been , but I thought it was pretty well done . My biggest complaint of the season is probably a bit petty , but when Peter lost his powers and got them back , I thought it was pretty stupid that he can only use one . I mean , he touches someone , gets their power , but loses it once he touches someone else . I just thought that was the dumbest thing they could do . But , I don't create the storylines , I just watch the show .
    • 048 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) I don't think this show will ever be as well written as the first season。。 volume , but the third one wasn't bad , and much better than the second IMO . Sylar will forever be inconsistant and out of character since voted the best new villian with season one , but the Petrelli family does not disappoint with suspence and drama . Enjoy the show .
    • 071 4  I really wasn't sure how season 3 was going to pan out with some of hte problems that season 2 ran into a long with the writer's strike . I feel this season did well with creating a lot of suspsense and mystery . It definitly kept my attention . Can't wait to see what happens in season 4 .
    • 074 4  If Heroes continues in this vein , I'll be more than happy . Season 2 was a disappointment , partly by it's shortness , but also because it seemed like it finished in a rush - obiously due to the writer's strike . But season 3 shows what great writers can do when they are unencumbered . I enjoyed the storylines , especially those involving Sylar - what a great actor he is ! All the favorites were back , with a couple of new faces . overall , it kept me oblivious to my surroundings while I was watching it , and I was truly sorry to see it come to an end , knowing that I will have to wait for the season 4 DVD's !
    • 081 4  I seriously don't know what's with all the smack talk about Heroes season 2 and 3 being anything less than greatness because , to me , season 3 was fantastic ! Before watching season 3 of Heroes I hadn't seen any previous episodes of either season 1 or 2 so the newest season got me hooked right away . . I've finally caught up on all the seasons and gotta say it's my new favorite tv show . . cannot wait for season 4 . . I think the 3rd season was jammed pack w / action , suspense , thrills , twists , and laughts . . and just total greatness ! I seriously reccommend all seasons to everyone . . season 2 was a shorter season but with the writers ' strike , what do you expect ? give them a break eh ? Anyway , I hope people aren't disuaded by the crappy reviews for season 2 and 3 that I've read because , honestly , they could not be more way off . Heroes season 3 is the best !
    • 082 4  Heroes season 3 has all you would expect from the show . If you liked season 1 then you're going to love this one . I know season 2 was not as good as it could've been due to the strike but this season completely makes up for it . Season 3 is great all the way through . A lot of questions are answered and of course new questions arrive with the awesome cliffhanger ending .
    • 111 4  I just recently got into Heroes because a friend of mine wouldn't shut up about this show . I bought the first 2 seasons on sale here at Amazon . I fell in love instantly with season 1 . The characters are great , casting is good , and the way they tell a story is fantastic . Season 3 kept the love alive very well . I love the villians being added more and more , Sylar had a great struggle in this that I liked to see , although I don't think it should have been such quick changes to his personality , it makes him seem weak in that respect . I can't wait to see season 4 episodes , I hope they start having all out wars and we see the public react more . I guess I will have to wait and see . If you are a Heroes fan , this should be a no brainer for you , if you are not a Heroes fan , go back and start season 1 again and watch till your eyes bleed , you will learn to love it too .
    • 122 4  Oh no - thanks for nothing ! Boring , predictable , badly written , going nowhere . Heroes was an awesome series when it began . Season 2 had the writers ' strike , so fair enough , a little underwhelming . But Season 3 had no excuses and the only interesting person was Sylar ! We want to get to know the characters better each year and yearn to know what is in their futures . I'll watch next season , but if it doesn't lift its game , farewell brave Heroes !

  • 053 4  I reviewed this season months ago before it was released and now that i have it on blu-ray i'd like to review the actual season 3 blu-ray set . The season itself was awesome dark gripping inventive and action and drama-filled storytelling not to mention constant epic battles between good and evil and seeing new and unqiue sides to some of our favorite characters like Peter sylar and clarie . THis season consists of two volumes one the much-awaited and stunning volume Villians which actually picked up pretty well from S2 ' s ending episode powerless . I enjoyed this volume very much me being a dedicated and loyal HEROES fan i found plenty of wothy material in it . Villians held many great new story arcs like the return of Arthur petrelli the pinehearst orginization trying to unleash the formula sylar's redemptive quest after being manipulated by the petrellis to think he was their son . Peter and Nathan's rivalry Matt and Daphne connecting with one another the introduction of Tracy Strauss and finding out where Nathan's powers really came from . Also there were many new villians like Eric Doyle played wonderfully by David H lawerence XVII and the sinsister Knox and dim-witted pyro-manaic flint . Overall this volume consisted of many fantastic action sequences thrills mystery drama revelations shocks and humor and a fantastic battle of good and evil . Fugitives was also good at bringing back some of the S1 storytelling and giving us plenty of great new storytelling and action and drama and suspense and the characters of Matt Nathan and Sylar were greatly affected and Bryan fuller returned with a great tracy-centric episode Cold snap ' prehaps the best episode of volume 4 . Fugitives also provided lots of excellent story action twists and surprises as well and some great new characters like Alex woolsy and stone-cold killer Danko . The ending to fugitives was awesome a great twist ending which led perfectly into Redemption the current volume which is great too . the blu-ray quality looks great and there are excellent bouns features like some of the webisodes deleted scenes behind the scenes looks at the making of the show and how the writers developed season 3 . Overall this was a great blu-ray and if your a HEROES fan you should definitely check this out great video and picture quality and not to mention some cool features . I can't wait til the next one .
    • 005 4  Season 3 started slowly but most of us heroes fans were so desperate after a 9 month vacation ( due to the writer's strike ) , that we took what we could get . the writers have not been able to recapture the magic of season 1 . they keep bringing in too many new characters that just takes away from the harmony of the original cast . one of the plueses of this season is that sylar has a bigger role and they finally figured out that angela petrelli could be a major player . i love the show as a whole and will be around for season 4 , 5 and 6 hopefully .
    • 139 4  Season one of Heroes was absolutely brilliant , and season two was pretty good ( some people thought it was quite poor however ) . However , season three takes an absolute nose dive into entirely terrible storylines and completely changing some of the characters . The show is suffering an identity crisis ( again ) and the writers cannot make up there minds as to where they want to go with the series . The end of the season begins to clear up some of the issues that most fans ( and even the creator / writers ) were noticing such as having way too many characters and too many subplots going on at the same time . However , the damage has been done for the most part , and speaking for myself ( and I'm sure many others ) , I have lost all interest in the show , and I don't think they can bring it back . By completely changing characters such as Ali Larter's character ( I already can't remember her name she has become superfluous ) , Mohinder ( who loses all the appeal of being the one definitive good guy with no power , to becoming an unethical annoying character whose story is like watching Jeff Goldblum in The Fly ) , and Noah ( ? ) Bennett ( Good ? Bad ? Make up your mind ! ) , the writers seem to reinvent the characters entirely ignoring precedence of the previous seasons . Season 3 is absolutely atrocious and unless I start hearing amazing things from many sources that season 4 is good and somehow patches up the problems in season 3 , you can count me out from the series from now on .

  • 064 4  In every viewing of any film or series you have to suspend belief to some degree . Especially where science fiction is involved . The what if approach is the appropriate one . What if some men could fly , stop time , have super strength or absorb such abilities etc . The combinations of possible situations are endless once you accept the premise and it is intriguing to do so , even if it is against common experience or common sense even . It helps if the special effects used are convincing , if the acting is good , if there is attention to detail , if the score is suitable ( in this case haunting even ) , if the production values are high . All these are present in the third season of Heroes . So is a constan oveturning of situations and a change of camps by the mostly unstable characters involved , to an extend and in a way that it is hard to swallow sometimes . . . This confuses matters it's true . But it also keeps things unpredictable and exciting ! Matrix was not suitable for Cannes festival , but it was ( is ) a highly enjoyable film and so is this . . . It does matter that the series suffers from an identity crisis , but the twists and turns are not enough to make me reject the premise as such or more importantly deprive me from the enormous fun i get when i watch it . In short i love the series and i prefer overall this season , to the rather slow season 2 . Do yourself a favor ant give it a chance ! You'll be hooked . . .
    • 055 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 3 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) The show is great . Reminds me of 10 cents CD-Rs . . . . Good thing Amazon was kind enough to let me keep both sets ( live outside US , yay . . . had to pay 12 $ for the shipment the 1st time and 12 $ for the same set the 2nd time . . . . wish I lived in the US ) , hopefully if some of the discs go bad , I got a 2nd set there as backup . . .
    • 065 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 3 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) We searched for this locally and could not find it at this amazingly low price . What a bargain for blu-ray . And as always Amazon.com is great about getting your merchandise to you in a timely manner and exactly what you ordered . Why go to the store and buy it the same day when you can save twenty dollars and wait 5 days . You can't get through the whole series in one night anyway .

    • 104 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) Heroes - Season 3 did start somewhat weak , but picked up around the middle of season .

  • 079 4  I'm writing this review pretty much strictly to let everyone know that EVERY single episode of this season has a commentary with actors and behind the scenes crew . Thats 25 episode commentaries . I wish LOST would do this for the fans as opposed to just 3 or 4 per DVD set . The rest of the special features are nothing special but ultimately , you have 25 episodes to watch for season 3 and then 25 commentaries to listen to . 50 episodes worth of viewing material . Worth the money .
    • 045 4  if you like the idea of havin powers , ( even though it will never happen : p ) then you will love this
    • 138 4  Not all the way through yet but it's good . Keep wanting to watch the next episode when I'm done with one . Better than season two .
    • 153 4  i still watch it , but its not at all what it was in season 1 , way better than season 2 , has its moments but is wildly uneven and i cant seem to understand any direction they are taking , but i believe season 4 will def determine if u can save this show or just give up on it . ps : i HATE the shameless plugs of verizon and nissan ! !

  • 096 4  Heroes is a fabulous show ! Although season 2 was a bit of a disappointment , season 3 was great !
    • 107 4  Season 3 for Heroes is the best season yet . Thoroughly enjoyable and well worth the investment !

  • 118 4  For those of u who have watched this show since season 1 and complained how bad it has become since season 2 and wrote a review on this product about why not to by it why r u still watching it if its so bad why have u been keeping up to date with it and even tho u probably wont admit it why r u going to be watching season 4 . It's because this is an awesome show that is quite addicting . It can go in any direction and keep you guessing . yes I understand some of your complaints characters dying and coming right back to life , the plot dragging on in the second season , etc . Heroes does have a couple things that needs improvment i will admit that but it has more things that make this show great . The themes , character development , twists , diversity , how there is proabably at least one charatcer on this show u can relate to in some way , etc . Heroes is by far my favorite show that I have ever seen on television and I will stick with it . Everyone who wrote a review saying something they dont like about Heroes obviously that means u still have faith in this show if u feel u will continue to watch if they change what u dont like about it and u will most likely watch it even if they dont change it . So for those of u questioning whether to by this product or not take my advice and rent it first and see if its worth it for u to buy it give it a chance . I will be pre ordering it a looking forward to it on Sept 1st and anticipating season 4 on Sept 21st . Also the 1 big thing i would like to see happen on the show is for them to bring Elle back and have her and Claire work together she was my favorite character who had so much potential and then after that to stop bringing dead characters back . Then i would like to see Sylar take over Nathan whom i never really liked . Anyways I would like to know what u thought of this so whether u liked it or not let me know by saying if this review was helpful or not .
    • 030 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) So , after a short 2nd season due to a writers strike , I think the writers sat down and tried to kick the pace back up and try to get the show back on course .
    • 089 4  I purchased this for a friend for Christmas . Unfortunately when the box set arrived it came damaged from the trip . It wasn't shipped in a very protective way so the corners of the box set itself were pretty messed up . My friend did get around to watch the DVDs till about a month later , everything seemed fine until he got to the 3rd disk which would begin to play but then would constently skip and freeze . We tried this on at least 3 different DVD players with the same result . Later I emailed them about this and recieved no response . I wasn't too happy with them or the product .
    • 152 4  Let me just state I currently hate this show , I have and I'm more then positive I always will . I refused to watch the show when it was on tv but I was sick and laid up and friend gave me this season and the rest . The ONLY reason I gave this crappy , nerd soap opera 3 stars was because of SYLAR . He is the only good thing about this show ( kudos Zachary Quinto ) and thank God this season was full of him . The first half was a combination of terribl and just ok . I am a big fan of letting that stupid hoe claire just DIE . She is sooo stupid and the pertrellis mom omg that bitch need to DIE too . The best part is that you saw that Sylar was made that way and it was that stupid Elle and Noah's fault , tThe worst was everything else . The second part was a hot terrible mess , but there was lots of Sylar . I have never watched a show where I wanted everyone BUT the bad guy to die , the only thing that came good out of this season was learning that there can be a villian that almost wins . However I do believe that we have Zachary Quinto awesome acting talents to thank for that .
    • 156 4  I ordered this product from a seller ( Electronix ) through Amazon and I never did recieve it . I hope they kick Electronix off their site ! Amazon has been great in helping me get my money back .
    • 158 4  my product showed up on time and in great condition order was handeled with great proffesionalism , would use thier service again
    • 162 4  Even if I bought season 3 heroes blu ray format , I'm very bored when I'm watching the episodes . Everybody was planning something in a very strange way . Brothers were killing each other ? which was very weird . My mind just didn't accept the events in the episodes although I find very good the series supernatural , sarah connor chronicles .

  • 124 4  In the first couple of episodes of Season Three , it kept up with the thrill and mystery of the Heroes as it did in Season One . Towards the end of the season , after the discovery of who had ordered the President to round up and capture people who possessed abilities , the story lines became extremely confusing and many times , repetitive . After the end of the whole Niki / Jessica Sanders ( Ali Larter ) deal in Seasons One & Two , it wasn't surprising to hear that there were two other sisters named Tracy and Barbara in the family . Hiro ( Masi Oka ) continues on with Ando ( who realizes he has his own special abilities and begins calling himself The Crimson Arc ) in fulfilling heroic duties . Matt Parkman ( Greg Grunberg ) falls in love with a speedster named Daphne ( Brea Grant ) and finds out he has a son . Claire ( Hayden Panettiere ) still wants to be her normal person but that all changes after Sylar ( Zachary Quinto ) captures her ability and doesn't bother to finish her off . Noah Bennett ( Jack Coleman ) , aka HRG , struggles to keep his family together when everything he did at Primatech Paper Company all comes out . Mohinder ( Sendhil Ramamurthy ) falls in love with Maya ( Dania Ramirez ) and injects himself with her blood and acquires super human strength . Elle ( Kristen Bell ) lets herself fall for Sylar and pays for it in the end . Nathan ( Adrian Pasdar ) and Peter ( Milo Ventimiglia ) find out that their father had really never died while their mother Angela's ( Cristine Rose ) dirty little secrets all come out in the end . Sylar's internal struggle of trying to find himself , his actual family , and whether he wanted to be good or bad became slightly annoying . In the final episode , it was disappointing of how Sylar and Nathan ended up switching bodies , even though I'm sure the writers and the producers only wrote it that way to continue the irritating fact that Sylar could never die . Overall , Season Three was entertaining and quirky at times throughout the 25 episodes amidst the violence and struggles . They split up the season into two different sets of Villains and Fugitives . I recommend watching each episode closely to understand it a little better to keep up with the confusing stories . Hopefully , Season Four's next 19 episode arc will be better than before !
    • 077 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) I will admit that the first arc of the third season had me scanning any and all bodies of water for the Fonz , but as the show progressed I was much happier .

  • 125 4  this series is awesome . i know many people didnt like season 2 . yes its was butchered but it was still good . season 3 brings back the magic of season 1 . episodes like coldsnap are fantastic . i cant wait when it comes out on bluray . i totally recomemnd it

    • 130 4  It's somewhat more violent and bloody than I would have expected , but this season isn't so bad . It's interesting to see the characters discover more about themselves , their duality , their conflicted feelings about doing good or bad things and what the outcome will be , whether it's okay to do something wrong in the short term so that others might benefit later , and so on . Sylar gets a lot of screen time , exploring his darkest interiors , while the other characters get some generous story time as well . Hiro and Ando are still my favorites and tend to bring some light and humor into the darkness and seriousness of the rest of the show .
      • 008 4  Season 3 was a great season of a great show ! I completely loved it ! This season was full of all the twists and turns a viewer could want - not to mention superb acting and thrilling special fx . I thoroughly enjoyed this season , and cannot wait for season 4 . I honestly consider Heroes to be one of the best tv shows on the air .
      • 035 4  So far it is the best season of Heroes . I was stuck from episode one all the way to the end . I hope season 4 is the same way .
      • 037 4  I loved it , I have all of the seasons so far except Season 4 if their going to release it . I work so sometimes I can't stay awake to see it on television . So when I have time off that's when I watch it . I love the way it akes those little twist and turns your not expecting .
      • 039 4  Even if many people say that heroes jumped the shark there are still unanswered questions . I would like to see them answered before they just cut and end the story .
      • 041 4  DVD set arrived very quickly & in great shape ! I love Heroes & it's great that the DVD set has extra features !
      • 051 4  I bought this for my sister who loves the show and she watched the whole dvd in two days .
      • 093 4  I found season three of Heroes very interesting , the characters all seemed to reverse their positions , if they were bad before ~ They were good this season . All in all , a great DVD !
      • 113 4  I liked , but didn't love the first seasons of Heroes , but when the third season started , I couldn't watch it . So I bought the set to catch up , and it really got me this time . It is finding it's voice , with well defined and fascinating characters , plots that keep me wanting more . And that is real art . Performances are top knotch . . . it's just really great storytelling in every aspect . Don't hesitate if you are tired of same old , same old .
      • 115 4  The first two seasons were great ! But the third was out of this world ! ! ! I recomend this to everyone .
      • 166 4  I'm waiting it for a long time , my wife and I can't wait to see it ! ! when will it be released for DVD version ? Thanks ! !

    • 142 4  i am an avid Heroes fan but i am wondering if i am the only one confused about one small thing . When season 3 finally started i was so excited . as we all know the premier was slow in coming , but about 11 episodes in , the opening switched for saying volume 3 to volume 4 but there was never a season finale and no break between 3 and 4 . As the season contined through the now volume 4 , i began looking for volume 3 so i could order it but the websites all said the show was still that season ! ! So with the finale being yesterday and as usual had a preview of the next season , my question is how many people are going to be confused on whether we are about to be in season 4 or 5 ? ? Somebody fix that please ! ! !
      • 042 4  ok show . but , only ok . not as good as the first year . the little girl who could find people - that the policeman adopted - was suddenly gone . boom ! and no one noticed ? not even her adopted father ? like chuck on Happy Days . a show like this needs better scripts [ than most shows ] to be as good as regular shows because of its si-fi super-hero story lines and characters . when a show like this makes blunders they show up more than they would in a more regular t.v . program . i could name more blunders but other reviewers already have . P.S . strangely , the acting seems to be really good in spite of the flaws .
      • 044 4  Interesting twists - more new characters with super powers and the usual will the world survive themes - A must for fans .
      • 132 4  The twists and turns are many . Just when you thought you knew what was going on , who the bad guys were . . . but that's the point , we are all good and bad together , no person is truly one or the other . So , more back story into the people involved and the groups who tried to gain power from studying the mutations . A cracking good yarn , as they say .

    • great show , captured my imagination , actually made me devote myself to fun , exciting television . Season 2 : Lackluster , brought back characters I thought had died with great impact and import in season 1 , halfway through the season I started skipping shows , moved onto other prime-time shows that were better written and acted . Season 3 : Yawn , what happened to this show ? ! ? Seriously , the most disappointing season of a seriously faltering show . If this show continues on this path I predict cancellation after the next season .
      • 059 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 3 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) I really didnt think that season 4 was going to be that good . Characters that I didnt like I started to like as the pot gets really deep . If you are into Heroes then you need to see this season , no ifs ands or buts about it . Plus its on blu-ray , picture is sharp and detailed .

      • 127 4  this was a really good season , and watching it on the dvds left me with more surprises than ever . Buy this !
      • 148 4  a little bit constructed . If the writers have trouble to find a character an old one revive . But still ok .
      • 154 4  Heroes is one of the best tv shows . Yes the season started off slow . But it started to pick up . Alot of people say it has to many charactes . And yes it did , but they killed alot of them off towards the end of the season , so this means season 4 will hopefully feel like season 1 ! So give heroes a chance and buy seasons 1,2 and 3 on DVD !

    • Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) I just recently got into Heroes because a friend of mine wouldn't shut up about this show . • 012 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) This is closer to what the 2nd season should have been , with evil villains and a few questions answered .
      • 073 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) If Heroes continues in this vein , I'll be more than happy .
      • 075 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) Without a doubt I was pretty bummed out that the first half of Season 3 was not quite up to the Heroes standard of Season 1 and the half season 2 . Thank the maker that someone saw through the flub and decided to embark on Volume 4 . I love the focus on Sylar and how it would ultimately tie into Volume 5 which is now underway . I hope they get Season 4 right . Love this show and look forward to several more seasons . Heroes - Season Three

    • Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) I love Heroes - and this season did not disapoint . BUY THIS . 3 : )

      • 032 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) the dvds were great , not scratched or anything . they were brandnew , but all of them fell outta the box b / c i guess they forgot the glue ? the little plastic sides that are actually glued to the cardboard . . . . yeh , it was kinda of a pain , but i have a hot glue gun so itz not that bad , it was just unexpected so it annoyed me . lol .
      • 034 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) So far it is the best season of Heroes . I was stuck from episode one all the way to the end . I hope season 4 is the same way .
      • 036 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) I loved it , I have all of the seasons so far except Season 4 if their going to release it . I work so sometimes I can't stay awake to see it on television . So when I have time off that's when I watch it . I love the way it akes those little twist and turns your not expecting .
      • 040 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) DVD set arrived very quickly & in great shape ! I love Heroes & it's great that the DVD set has extra features !
      • 062 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) Heroes season 3 was good but a bit confusion , If think they had not had so many characters it could have been even better then season 3 . The i have purchased are in good condition , No problems whatsoever . I am an international customer and they delivered the item in time .
      • 092 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) I found season three of Heroes very interesting , the characters all seemed to reverse their positions , if they were bad before ~ They were good this season . All in all , a great DVD !
      • 112 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) I liked , but didn't love the first seasons of Heroes , but when the third season started , I couldn't watch it .
      • 114 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) The first two seasons were great ! But the third was out of this world ! ! ! I recomend this to everyone .
      • 131 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) The twists and turns are many . Just when you thought you knew what was going on , who the bad guys were . . . but that's the point , we are all good and bad together , no person is truly one or the other . So , more back story into the people involved and the groups who tried to gain power from studying the mutations . A cracking good yarn , as they say .
      • 137 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) Not all the way through yet but it's good . Keep wanting to watch the next episode when I'm done with one . Better than season two .
      • 147 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) a little bit constructed . If the writers have trouble to find a character an old one revive . But still ok .
      • 169 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) In a previous review , I had noted that the expedited delivery was not as timely as it should have been . The seller agreed and provided a 50% discount , which under the circumstances , is fair .

    • Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) I purchased this for a friend for Christmas .
      • 046 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) I really enjoy the series and will collect them all . I tried watching this series half way through the second season , and could not stand it . My son had the first season and had me go back and watch from the start . NOw I try to never miss an episode .

      • 150 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) My granddaughter was very happy to receive this as a birthday gift . She now has all three seasons . Can't wait for the fourth one to come out .

    • Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) Season Three had everything a Heroes fan could want : more action , crazy villians , twists , turns , etc . I have to say I enjoyed it even more than Season Two ( which I find very underrated ) but not quite as much as the untouchable Season One . I especially loved seeing darker shades to the heroes we know so well . Great moments throughout this season include : a host of new villians ( lines are now drawn between good and evil ) , the return of a certain Petrelli , Sylar teaming up with Noah , the seriously creepy Puppet Man , the Catalyst , the spunky character of Dahpne the Speedster , Danko's evil agenda , Micha's return ( he becomes quite significant towards the end ) and secrets revealed about the Company's original founders . Don't listen to all these whining haters who do nothing but hate on this show ( I'll admit it's not a flawless but at least it's far more entertaining than half the garbage nowadays on TV . ) I definitely recommend this season !
      • 027 4  It may have taken a few episodes to become hooked , but this family certainly did . Great entertainment .
      • 057 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) The Heroes series has good casting and character development . I really enjoy being able to see the episodes on DVD's without the annoying commercial breaks that come with the weekly TV presenations . Money well spent for entertainment that you can enjoy at your leisure .

      • 167 4  Season 1 is good , season 2 is decent but the season 3 of Heroes is simply horrible TV , it's so bad that I stop watching after a few episodes . Nothing makes sense , terrible writting and portrayal , the story is terribly boring and increadibly stupid . There are momentts so bad that make laugh . One of the most expensive shows , and one of the worst by far . They need to fire all the writters .

    • Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) This season even surpassed the special effects of season 1 .

      • 128 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) My review is totally biased . I am a Heroes fanatic . I can't watch just one episode . I usually watch 2 or 3 at a time and only stop then because I have to . I started watching Heroes Season One on DVD in August . I was hooked from the very beginning and I haven't stopped watching since . I then purchased Season Two and now I have only four episodes left to watch , then I will resume Season Four on television . However , I will buy Season Four when it comes out and watch every episode again . Can never have enough Heroes ! EEKlectic
      • 161 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 3 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) Even if I bought season 3 heroes blu ray format , I'm very bored when I'm watching the episodes . Everybody was planning something in a very strange way . Brothers were killing each other ? which was very weird . My mind just didn't accept the events in the episodes although I find very good the series supernatural , sarah connor chronicles .

    • Heroes : Season 3 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) HEROES and LOST are the 2 more ambitious grand scale Sci-Fi series on today's TV .

      • 086 4  This review is from : Heroes - Season Three ( DVD ) Other people have said it here , but I will repeat it .
      • 094 4  I COULDN'T WAIT TO SEE HEROES SEASON 3 , AND WHEN I VIEWED THE FIRST TWO EPISODE , I WAS DISAPPPOINTED . SO DISAPPOINTED IN FACT , I TOOK IT OUT AND DIDN'T COME BACK TO IT FOR ALMOST A MONTH . I JUST COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT THEY WERE DOING ? BUT WHEN I DECIDED TO GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY ( BECAUSE IT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE TV SHOWS ) , MAN I WAS HOOKED ALL OVER AGAIN . I MEAN I DIDN'T EXPECT ALL THE DIFFERENT TURNS THIS SHOW HAS TAKEN . SYLAIR WITH FEELINGS , NATHAN THE BAD GUY , AND THEY HAD NEW CHARACTERS . EVERYDAY I WAS WAITING TO GET HOME FROM WORK TO FINISH WATCHING . EXCELLENT ! IT WILL KEEP YOU GUESSING ! !
      • 100 4  Heroes was the most exciting show in years . Finally ! Then the end of Season 2 and ESPECIALLY Season 3 ruined the entire experience for me . I will treasure my Season One Box Set , but I will save my money for quality TV on DVD - which does not include Season 3 of Heroes .
