Heroes: Season 2 [Blu-ray]

  • - larger portions of our lives are influenced or even controlled by high-level entities or organizations who now have the means to implement their agendas - things are almost never what they seem because hidden forces are at work - only very few insiders completely understand and control and set the agendas for these all-controlling entities - we should consider ourselves lucky if we can figure out the who's and the how's that change our world but we may never get to know the why's - these hidden and mysterious ' powers that be ' plot , plan and act globally Heroes is a near-perfect reflection or expression for our current fears and paranoias and watching it could therapeutically help vindicate and validate them . Heroes reveals that there's a number of humans possessing near-supernatural powers who live secret lives while appearing as normal , ordinary people to the rest of the world . We are ' in the know ' now , rigyht ? But , wait , these poor gifted souls have no idea where those powers came from and , up until Season One started , they were hardly aware of each other's existence . And this is only the beginning . What we are watching unfold is a riddle , wrapped in a mystery , inside an enigma - to borrow someone else's words . Someone or something appears to be working secretly to find all these gifted individuals and ' cure ' them of their powers but . . . there's their parents ' generation who seem to have their own agenda and there's some organization or maybe one specific individual up to no good ( as we understand ' good ' ) and , apparently , working diligently toward the near-extermination of the human species . Or . . . will we ever know what that REAL agenda is ? The first season was about getting to know the many ' gifted ' characters and preventing a small human nuke from erasing the city of New York . There were lots of stories to be told and , by the time it was over , we learned to know and to care about some of the ' heroes ' . Season Two was meant to look one onion-layer deeper into their origins and give us a glimpse of what lays underneath while the human species was about to experience mass near-extinction without realizing it . Sadly , the season had to be cut in half and the makers had to do quite a lot of behind the scenes patching , including a complete 180 of the ' extinction ' part to save the plot . What we are left and get to watch is a largely unconvincing picture of our heroes trying to live normal lives and trying to understand their purpose while , of course , making sure that the world doesn't end . What we really get to see , and it is so in part because of the abbreviated season , is a not so compelling story often punctuated with heavy accents of weirdness . Add to this the series makers attempts to introduce AND take sides ( and occasionally perform summary artistic justice ) on some very specific elements from ' real life ' - Katrina , the illegal immigration controversy - and we are presented with a mixture that's compelling enough to watch , even though I did have my occasional and unplanned naps while watching , and makes me want to give Heroes a chance to redeem themselves on Season Three . I understand the problem the writers ' strike posed and we should all be forgiving of some flaws in the plot but , and this may be good advice for the ongoing Season Three , perhaps the makers of this overall good show should be careful not to slip into weirdness for weirdness sake . I noticed a tendency of turning ' the cheerleader ' into something that begins to resemble more that old ' bearded lady ' . The increasingly frequent killing and ' miraculous ' reviving of some of the main characters should be avoided or the overall balance may be disturbed and this entire effort could turn into some form of weirdorama . Technically speaking , the show continues to be first-class . Clearly , gifted professionals were at work putting Heroes together . The acting is consistently good and the characters we knew from Season One do not disappoint . The jury is still out on the couple of new additions but , it seems , the makers are pretty good at killing those who prove themselves not to be up to the standards . There are a couple of interesting extras . The story of Takezo Kensei is very well done and is providing some useful background that helps understand what Hiro's quest appears to be about . Another ' news report ' on the mysterious inventor of the Internet does not seem to be directly related with the events shown on Season Two so , I assume , it was meant as a Season Three teaser . Oh , and one more weird detail . There seems to be no good reason for this to be a 4 - disk set . The first 8 of 11 episodes AND lots of extra are packaged on the first 2 disks . Then . . . Disk 3 has only 2 episodes and Disk 4 has one episode plus of few more minutes of ' extras ' . Was this done so that it could justify a higher retail price ? Overall , I am granting this show 4 stars because I am rounding up the 3.5 I feel it truly deserves and I am rounding the star count up because I hope for a great Season Three rebound which may be happening as I am writing this review but I won't know it until the next ' season ' bundle is released next year because I don't watch these shows on TV .
    • 005 4  PLEASE NOTE : Reviews are opinions . The purpose of the reviews are to HELP those who haven't seen the show decide whether or not they want to purchase / read / watch / listen to something . That's what the voting is for NOT if you agree or disagree with the reviewer . If you disagree-write a review . The comments section IS for those who want to disagree . The second season of Heroes stumbled with its story arc involving Hiro traveling back in time to feudal Japan . FYI , that subplot IS tied into the main plot of the second season . The focus here is on the Shanti Virus a concoction that can take away someone's powers but IS often lethal . There is also someone targeting those who were involved in the founding of The Company . As with Lost the introduction of new characters was problematic - - fans were more interested in finding out what happened to their favorites from season one . The show recovers somewhat by midset unfortunately the show was interrrupted by the Writer's Guild strike . I have no doubt that the second half of the second season would have made up for the stumbling start of season two based on what we find out in the extras but that didn't happen . The show looks extremely good in its DVD presentation . The extras are quite good as well which does make up for the diminished quality of the show . We get 11 commentary tracks . I haven't had time to listen to more than one or two of them but they are pretty good . If I'm not mistaken these are the audio versions of the video commentaries that were available on the Heroes website . A couple of the featurettes included here were also on the webiste . The most effective and interesting ones here are the preview of season three ( which has some minor spoilers so you may want to wait to watch it if you want to be totally surprised ) and a featurette that allows us to see how a series of scenes wer constructed . Heroes still has tremendous potential and here's hoping that the third season Villians is an improvement over the second season . This is a good set but isn't as strong or as good as the first season of Heroes . Rent it .
    • 010 4  Heroes season 2 I think was pretty good considering that they cut it down due to that uselesss writer's strike . I mean the strike was useless , not the writers themselves . It left us with nothing but crappy reality shows through-out most of the year . Heroes season 2 told as good of a story as it could've due to the short time . It does start out a bit better than it ends though . Hiro Nakamura ( Masi Oka ) still steals the show . Him in the past where he meets his childhood hero Takezo Kensei ( an excellent David Anders of Alias ) led to some of the more engaging stuff of the season . Parkman ( Greg Grunberg ) finding out that his father is infact Molly's nightmareman was a little disappointing I admit . However the nightmare scenes were done well enough that I didn't care after awhile . I just wish that their was more of him since he was one of the fresher things about this season . He also was a little creepy . Speaking of creepy , Sylar ( Zachary Quinto ) is back but powerless . He shows that he's dangerous even without his powers though . He meets a woman with a dangerous power that kills everyone around her when her eyes turn black and bleed . She's a good person but her powers kill people and only her brother's power can control her power if that makes sense . Sylar gets in her head and makes her think that he's a good person that wants to help her . When he's really just fascinated by her power and wants it for himself . Well when he gets his back that is and he thinks Mohinder ( Sendhil Ramamurthy ) can help him get them back . While Peter ( Milo Ventimiglia ) mysteriously lost his memory and doesn't remember his brother Nathan or even having powers . He falls for a women who's brother says he can help him remmember . He wants him to use his powers for bad though before he'll help him . While Noah Bennet ( Jack Coleman ) moves his daughter Claire ( Hayden Panettiere ) somewhere to protect her from the company . He tells her to stay low . That's easier said than done when a kid there sees that she has powers . It's ok with him though since he can . . . fly . I was entertained by the season . It has many twists and turns . Does it all lead up to something great though in the end ? No , I can't really say that . Instead of NY being threatened by a bomb it's now threatened by a virus . While instead of Hiro seeing the future and seeing that NY is doomed , Peter does instead . So they could've been more original , it was too familiar to what we already seen in season 1 . While Ali Larter has shown she can act as Nikki , she's wasted in this season with little to do.It also bugged me that some new heroes have powers that we have already seen . Such as , one can fly like Nathan , while another can heal like Claire . However those were probably my only problems with the season . Other than that they did what they could due to the strike and it could have been worse .
    • 011 4  I'll admit it ; when this season was first airing , I was bouncing around on the I love it ! and I hate it ! trains . Some episodes were , and still are , pretty amazing , while others are subpar at best , and the writer's strike certainly didn't help it much . I did find , though , that when I watched one episode after the other , that it was a lot better than it had been when I was waiting a week between each episode . I found myself getting into it more than I had , and actually getting emotionally invested where I hadn't previously . And , at least for me , this is much better than the current season .
    • 015 4  Shows such as Heroes , Prison Break , Lost are , to a significant degree , reflections of how many of us perceive the world around us during these uncertain and unsettled times : - larger portions of our lives are influenced or even controlled by high-level entities or organizations who now have the means to implement their agendas - things are almost never what they seem because hidden forces are at work - only very few insiders completely understand and control and set the agendas for these all-controlling entities - we should consider ourselves lucky if we can figure out the who's and the how's that change our world but we may never get to know the why's - these hidden and mysterious ' powers that be ' plot , plan and act globally Heroes is a near-perfect reflection or expression for our current fears and paranoias and watching it could therapeutically help vindicate and validate them . • 018 4  Not since Season Two of TWIN PEAKS has a good show fallen so sharply off in quality as HEROES in Season Two ( and unfortunately , as of this day , Season Three ) . And never has a series so completely belied its name . The fundamental problem with HEROES is that there are no heroes . There are people with super abilities , but no one acts especially heroic . There are no clearly demarcated good guys and no clearly delineated bad guys . Instead , characters are apparently good for a while and then apparently bad . In other words , the fundamental conception of the show is just a mess . The problem with Season Two is twofold . First , it fails to build on the promise of Season One . The best long narrative shows of recent years ( and HEROES apparently bills itself as a long narrative show ) continuously and clearly moves the story alone . BATTLESTAR GALACTICA clearly and brilliantly tells a story . LOST ( the draggy Season Two aside ) tells a story . BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER clearly and inevitably told a series of stories . But even well into Season Three it isn't clear that HEROES has a story to tell . There are markers and signs that they think they have a story to tell , but things remain dark and murky . Watching the show in Season One I assumed that the show was showing how a group of people with remarkable abilities was going to come together , perhaps to team together for good . But at this point in the series no one seems to really be finding their way . Few have had epiphanies . No one is becoming truly heroic . Frankly , at this point I don't have much hope for the show , though out of habit I've made myself keep up . One thin that truly great shows like BATTLESTAR GALATICA and LOST and BUFFY have in common is individual narratives of responsibility and redemption . Apart , possibly , for Sylar , we've had no such narratives in HEROES . Even Sylar might slip back to his evil , evil ways . So the first major problem with HEROES in Season Two was the failure to move the story forward . Instead , they essentially did a reset and put thing back to where it was in Season One . All the work of Season One seemed for naught . The second major problem is that too much of the season was spent on new characters , instead of developing the stories of established characters . I was happy to see Veronica Mars herself , Kristen Bell , join the show as the electrifying ( literally ) Elle , but there were simply too many new characters , several of them pretty unpleasant . We had a number of characters from Season One who were simply neglected to deal with the new characters . I'm not sure that the show can be saved at this point . Sadly and tragically the show will certainly get some major help in the near future . ABC has stupidly canceled one of the finest shows on TV , PUSHING DAISIES . The only - - and I don't see this as much of a consolation prize given the loss of one of the most exhilarating shows in the history of TV - - upside to this abominable decision is that Bryan Fuller is now free to return to HEROES . Can Fuller turn the show around ? One can only hope . Though Tim Kring insisted that all the writers worked on all episodes , I can't help but feel that it isn't an accident that Fuller was given writer's credit for what is hands down the best HEROES episode to date , Company Man . But if HEROES is to be saved , they first need to have the characters live up to the title , which at this point is more ironic than descriptive . Secondly , they need to force the story to start going somewhere . NBC is very slow to give up on shows . On ABC or CBS or FOX there is little question that HEROES would have been cancelled by now . The show's viewership is now less than half of what it was in Season One . If it doesn't improve soon and begin attracting back its old viewers , it has little chance for a Season Four .
    • 020 4  Despite all the negative reviews there has been for the second season of Heroes . . . It still kept me interested in the building plot and storyline . Heroes is one of the most amazing shows there are in television today , if there's a certain person who says they don't like it , they've never watched this show . I am HIGHLY anticipated for the third upcoming season . The only downside is , the second season was shortened to a smaller number of episodes compared to its first due to the WGA strike . But other than that . I will guarantee you that you'll love this show . Be sure to have the first season purchased also if you're new to the show so you could have a better understanding .
    • 026 4  Ah yes , Heroes . A year and a half ago , I rode the hype wave without even having seen the show . Everybody was saying blah de blah , the next ' Lost ' etc . , so when the season 1 boxset came out , I popped the first disc in my DVD player with almost pant-wetting enthusiasm . And what did I find ? Pure meh-ness : dimwitted dialogue , atrocious acting , ham-fisted plotting , knuckle-bitingly bad special effects and terrible characterisation . I barely made it through that first season set , and came out of it cursing those hours that I'd never get back . So , the second season hit the television , and word was that everybody hated it . Even those Heroes-lovers that were seemingly everywhere . It didn't match the quality of Season 1 . Now , considering my view of season 1 , my expectations for season 2 were low enough to strike oil . As such , when the boxset came out , I paid it no heed . It was only out of desperate boredom , 6 months later , that I rented it for $2 . And . . . well , it surprisingly didn't make me go blind with horridness . In fact , I was mildly entertained for those 11 episodes . Sylar did some stuff . The cheerleader got on the cheer squad . Matt Parkman ate pizza . Peter had a spiffy new haircut . All passable entertainment compared to staring at the wall . In fact , the only thing that was unforgivably atrocious this season was Hiro's stint in feudal Japan , which didn't capture the era at all . It was laughably bad , and was only made worse by the English backpacker who joined him in his 17th century adventures , speaking modern dialogue and rocking a fashionable 1990 ' s boy band haircut . Ludicrous . He sort of redeemed himself later ( wouldn't want to spoil it for you ) , but it was still terrible . Anyway , I recommend this series to people with televisions , 484 spare minutes , severe boredom , and a willingness to suspend disbelief .
    • 027 4  The second season of Heroes , often said to be vastly inferior to the first , is actually quite good . Hiro's adventures in centuries-old Japan are pretty compelling , Adam Monroe provides perhaps the series ' best villain , and the season's exposure of The Company's roots provides a healthy bit of backstory . The new characters are somewhat of a mixed bag , but most of them have an interesting story . There's just not much to Caitlin , and Maya / Alejandro's story gets a little repetitive as her power keeps manifesting itself in similar situations . West is completely annoying , and some of his scenes with Claire are cringe-inducing . On the other hand , I found Monica Dawson and Elle to be worthy compliments to the season one veterans . While the first half of the season can be a bit slow , the last four episodes provide the best adrenaline rush - - and highest overall storytelling quality - - since the buildup to season one's Homecoming . Some have written that season one is the true Heroes , and that it would be best to stop watching at How to Stop an Exploding Man . I wholeheartedly disagree . Season two , although it has a few problems with pacing and a couple boring characters , is largely of the same quality as season one . I fear that season two's critics forced the show's writers into panic , and in their attempts to fix the second season's problems they ended up creating the truly awful Villains volume of season three . We can only hope that the show's writers can return to their roots with the upcoming Fugitives . If not , I will sadly join the series ' critics in sticking with the true Heroes , albeit one that consists of the series ' first TWO seasons .
    • 028 4  The writer's strike wrecked havoc upon Season 2 , but not was all lost . There are many characters and some plots worked well others dragged . The Hiro in Japan storyline was a superficial story full of cliches . Too bad because the villian , Adam , was one of the better characters and played by a great actor . Another great addition was the character of Elle , a sociopath only kept in check by the her duties as a Company agent . It turns out that her previous relationship with Sylar was supposed to have been built upon at a slower pace , but the strike eliminated that storyline . The 3rd season only had the actrees for a few episodes and her story was resolved too quickly . Too bad because the Sylar / Elle story was one of the highlights of an inconsistent season 3 . She did bring a spark to season 2 though and her scenes with Peter , Mohinder , Claire , and HRG were some of the better ones of the season . Sylar without powers proved that he could use deception and manipulation to get what he wanted . Too bad the character Maya was given an annoying personality and had me rooting against her . Sylar needs a strong personality to play off of so he doesn't completely dominate the scenes . We did learn his personal power comes from his will power , focus , and intelligence , not just his outward non-human powers . There was great potential for the New Orleans family but I found the plot very weak . The young actors though were terrific and did what they could to keep it moving . I would have liked to see more of Nikki after the death of her husband though . She ended up a victim instead of the complicated strong woman she was in Season 1 . The extras are crucial to understanding what changed due to the strike . For all its faults , Heroes is still an entertaining show , although wildly inconsistent .
    • 029 4  After reading some online discussions about season two , my wife and I feared that this season wouldn't be that great . To the contrary , it was better than we expected . Although this season was less action-packed as season one , it did set a lot of precedence and cleared up some confusion . Can't wait for season three to come out on DVD . Once Sylar receives his powers back in full , we're hoping to see Peter vs . Sylar vs . Adam . ( Oh wait . Adam's a little preoccupied 6 feet under . . . forgot ) . Anyway , look forward to season three .
    • 034 4  There are still plenty of things to like in Season 2 : the return to TV of Kristen Bell , Star Trek alumni Nichelle Nichols and George Takei in guest roles , the adorable Micah , likeable Ando , and the relationship among Matt , Molly , and the Doc , as well as the Petrelli brothers and their conniving mother . The problems : the storylines about the virus are a pale echo of the final season of the 4400 ; Hiro's trip to the past should not have been so dull ; there's a lot of tragedy , violence , and angst without the humor and to joy to balance them out . And what Hiro did to Adam Monroe is inexcusable .
    • 036 4  Another year , another big mystery and the world to save . Lots of new heroes , lots of changes for the original set . Hiro goes back in time , Matt and Mohinder are caring for Molly , Micah goes to post-Katrina New Orleans . Both Hiro's dad and Micah's grandma are former Star Trek stars , leading me to wonder if there's a connection there . . . . It's not as fascinating as season one , and the price is a little high for a half-season shortened by the strike , but if you're a Heroes fan , you should definitely pick it up .
    • 039 4  If you loved Season 1 and were addicted to how brilliant it was , you may be compelled to think about Season 2 and Season 3 DVD sets as an essential purchase . But don't be fooled . Be informed that that the sophomore seasons of Heroes have a noticeable drop in : - writing quality - directing - acting from certain members of the cast ( ahem-Hayden Panettiere-ahem ) . Overall , it was a bad year for Heroes . The DVD-treatment itself is excellent : audio and video quality rarely gets better than this . The problem is that with episodes this bad , boring and ridden with plot-holes , you won't want ever to rewatch them or even access the special features . In retrospect , I think watching Season 2 and 3 is not necessary to understand what will happen next . I am not sure whether this fact is a compliment or a criticism of Heroes . Save yourself the $ $ $ and just wait out this year and watch Season 4 . Forget Season 2 and 3 like you forget a bad nightmare .
    • 041 4  I think it's really funny how hard people have been on the second season . I mean , the show's production was practically shut down due to the writers ' strike , and as a result they had to try to squeeze 23 episodes worth of material into a mere 11 . Not an admirable task , obviously , but all things considered , I think they did as good of a job as anyone could . A show like this , with its intricate detail and myriad twists and turns really needs as much breathing room as possible , and it is certainly lamentable that the writers didn't have the time table that they really needed . However , despite its brevity , they still managed to pack a lot of goodness in . The second season introduces new characters , brings forth new revelations to the old ones , and shows that everyone's favorite villian , Sylar , is far from out of the way ( maybe even a bigger threat than ever ) . So hey , before you pan this automatically , ask yourself : how much could YOU do with 11 episodes ? As a writer myself , I'm pretty sure I couldn't have done nearly this well . Anyway , season 3 looks to be amazing , so misstep or not , one of television's best shows is certainly not done for yet .
    • 042 4  I have been looking forward to the release of season two so I could add it to my collection , and watch it all again without the adverts . What season two lacked in special effects and stun factors , it added in dramatic depth and character development , especially Hiro . I was not at all disappointed . And I can hardly wait for season three . . . Yes , season one was better , but I detest the whiny complaints of those who constantly expect everything to be over the top , better by the minute , and when it is not - then it is no good at all . Whenever anything new comes out , and especially something plus avant-garde , as was the pilot episode of Heroes , it has a remarkable impact , a wow factor - but that * always * wears off , no matter how good it was . But , there are many viewers who feel that because they chose to tune in and watch , the programme OWES them an ever increasingly amazing spectacle . Too bad for them . They will never get that . They do get a forum such as this , where they can blast the series for not attaining the impossible . Unfortunately , the networks seem to listen to those fools , especially Fox and UPN . So , when Heroes came back , during the writers strike , and gave us a second season , the whiners could not just enjoy it as it was , they are compelled to complain and try to prevent a third season . Of course , they believe screenwriting is easy , and they could have done better . . . As regards the cost of producing and distributing the DVD set , for the most part , the minor cost is in the number of discs and episodes . Expecting to pay half the price of a full season is simplistically not realistic .
    • 043 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) I think this is the best way to see Season 2 of Heroes . Low expectations , given the weak word-of-mouth , and the pristine AV quality of Blu-ray . And you don't have to wait a week to get your next fix . I loved every minute of this season . Especially when you peruse the extras , and see how this may have all played out if not for the writer's strike . Every episode has a cliff-hanger , and each subsequent one delivers several pay-offs and knockout moments that will keep you up at night . Seriously , I found myself completely engaged with the whole cast . The numerous complaints that they spent too much time with our heroes ' individual stories is unfounded , as you can clearly see they would have been all heading to Odessa , Texas had it been a full season . The actors do some of their best work to date . Soecifically , Hayden Panettiere and Masi Oka are flat-out amazing . The range they show across these eleven episodes is astonishing . Every one else , for the most part , excels as well . Except maybe the whole Mexican-immigration-black-eyeball storyline , which is only really highlighted by the impossibly creepy Sylar performance of Zachary Quinto . The plots have great twists , great action sequences . . . the visuals are terrific , as you'd expect . It's all delivered flawlessly on these four BD discs . Again , check out the extras , which fill out the story nicely . And I finished it JUST in time for the new season , for which now I simply cannot wait !

Again , check out the extras , which fill out the story nicely . And I finished it JUST in time for the new season , for which now I simply cannot wait !
    • 046 4  Heroes : Season One was a phenomenon . Someone was making a show about superheroes , and they were doing it * smart * . We cared about the heroes . We shivered at the villains . We weren't sure where the plot was going , but we were along for the ride . And then Season Two was inflicted upon us . The writer's strike was going on . . . It wasn't * that * bad . . . Yes , yes it was . Bad on its own merits , but worse because it took the cockpit of one of the best shows on television and dumped fuel at 50,000 feet . If all you come to Heroes for is some action and excitement and special effects , perhaps you found the season enjoyable , and I don't fault you for that . But if you're prone to ask yourself silly questions like Why should two people who have been friends in the past and have the ability to freeze time ( and thus literally all the time in the world to discuss and explain things ) need to come to blows or How the devil would someone with the ability to regenerate know that doing ' x ' would result in his permanent demise or even Why is this person doing these stupid and out-of-character things other than someone's desperate need for the plot to move in a particular direction . . . This show will leave you , as a Season 1 veteran , * howling * in pain . Watch one of our female leads devolve as a character and date a sociopath ! Marvel as the writers decide killing people off is cleaner than resolving their issues ! Thrill to the slow-moving travels of a blubbering , co-dependent cipher ! Gawk at writing so shallow that you can practically read the outline through the script ! Boggle at the notion that anyone has actually thought this through ! Or , don't . No , really . Just don't . Spare yourself .
    • 047 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) It seems like , in the wake of HEROES ' huge first season success , Tim Kring and his staff looked back at those episodes and then completely misinterpreted what the audience had liked about them . As the second season started lots of new characters were introduced , all of them uninteresting and poorly cast . Characters from the first season remained frozen in their storylines , going nowhere . The first season's famous cliffhanger endings were gone . There were a few hints of the former glory , but not many . In fact , the writers ' strike may have been a blessing for HEROES . This disastrous season was truncated and Kring & Co . have had the time to reflect on the mistakes that were made . Maybe they'll get back on track for Season Three . If you need to own this boxed set of Season Two just in order to keep your collection complete then wait a few months and get it cheaper on Ebay . It's certainly not worth $40 !
    • 049 4  First let me say this . I found Season Two of Heroes to be a letdown . The storylines were too slow , there were too many new - and uninteresting - characters introduced and the climax of the season felt rushed . I don't completely blame this on the writers , though , because the strike may have prevented the full ark of Season Two from being fleshed out . Nevertheless , the season didn't live up to its potential . Despite my disappointment with Generations , there were quite a few things to like about this season ( such as The Nightmare Man , Elle , Adam , etc . ) and everything from Four Months Ago and after was entertaining . And for what it's worth , Season Two of Heroes was still better than a lot of the crap that came on this season ( Bionic Woman , anyone ) . While certainly a big misstep , Season Two of Heroes wasn't the disaster people made it out to be and was quite enjoyable at times . Hopefully , though , Villains will get Heroes back on track .
    • 050 4  No really , it wasn't that bad - just painstakingly average . Don't expect a stellar season like the first , instead expect a flawed , short , and at times , boring season . However , for all the bad things the show did - it also did a few things right . Episodes : 11 New Characters : Okay , so the twins were poorly conceived and given way too much spotlight ; Monica had an interesting power but had nothing to do ; and West was a one-note love interest . However , Adam is an interesting villain with enough backstory to keep the viewers invested and Elle , well , Elle is a godsend . Kristen Bell is perfect as the cute yet psychotic Company Girl and is a pleasure to watch . However , it seems that because of the abundance of new characters , many of the older characters are neglected : i.e . Nikki , DL , and Ando ; while others are almost constantly acting out of character : i.e . Peter , Claire , and Mohinder . As a fan , I kind of wish that the writers could've fixed and further developed the older characters rather than push them to the side , in order to introduce more characters . Storyline : The biggest problem the season faced was it's ongoing storyline . It was confusing , slow , boring , and had nowhere near the sense of urgency that Season 1 ' s New York City Bomb had . Despite this and numerous plot holes , it was decent enough and by episode 9 , the pace finally starts to pick up . Another interesting note : while in the first season , all the characters seemed connected by the story in some way or another - this season , some characters ( i.e . Claire , Monica , and Ando ) have nothing to do with the story at all . All in all , it's a very average season . I think the reason why most people are so angry about the season is largely because it is very disappointing compared to the first season . While I was hoping the show would expand on it's great stories and characters , it instead crumbles beneath them . At least Season 3 is looking much better . . .
    • 051 4  I personally don't see why so many people are down on Season 2 . I came to it with very low expectations , based on all the reviews here . Surprisingly , I was very pleased with it . It certainly isn't up to the bar of Season 1 , but what is ? Season 1 was almost perfect . With regard to the writer's strike , I'm sure that took a toll on everything - - rushed productions , rushed story-arcs , etc . I give it the benefit of the doubt on that front . That said , there are some criticisms . . . Could it have been done better ? Probably . But I still like this season . Should they have killed of Sylar ? YES . He's getting very tired / old / annoying ( Time for a new villain , folks ) . Did they need to bring in Maya and Alejandro ? NO . Dumb , dumb characters . Especially Alejandro . The main issue is this : Is this show still better than 80% of the other stuff on TV ? YES ! If you're not sure about it , rent it first . I lost patience and purchased a copy this weekend . I wasn't disappointed ( much ) . I eagerly await Season 3 !
    • 052 4  Season two of this hit show picks up four months after season one ended . The Bennett family has relocated to California were Noah has a new job at a paper company , a real one this time . Daughter Claire is supposed to be staying below the radar so The Company can't find them . But with a new boyfriend with a special power of his own , that's harder than it appears . Meanwhile , Matt Parkman and Mohinder Suresh are living in New York City were they take care of Molly , who is having visions of a very bad man . Mohinder has gone to work for The Company , but he is working with Noah to try to take it down from the inside . Hiro has stayed in feudal Japan as he attempts to help his childhood idol Takezo become the hero of legend . The Petrelli family is going through a dark time as older brother Nathan blames himself for what he thinks happened to Peter . Unknown to him , however , Peter is alive and well and living in Ireland . The only problem is , he's lost his memory . Then there are siblings Maya and Alejandro are heading to the US hiding a terrible secret . But when their paths cross with Sylar , things take a dangerous turn . . . . This season will forever be known as the season affected by the strike . Instead of the regular full season , we only got 11 episodes . That made some fans happy , however , since they complained bitterly about the show . Frankly , I was just as hooked on the unfolding story as I was during the first season . And acting and special effects continued to be great . The main complaints most people had centered on the fact that the characters were spread out all over the country again . Yeah , it would have been nice if they were together . But the different storylines were a draw of season one . I bet if we had been given a full season , we would have seen everyone come together . These complaints were leveled even more against the new characters , especially Maya and Alejandro . Yes , I found their storyline bazaar . But with Sylar involved , I was certainly hooked on it . I did get very tired of Hiro's trip back in time , however . That shouldn't have lasted nearly as long as it did . The creator himself as acknowledged many of the problems with this season . Hopefully , that means we'll get a stronger season three . While not as strong overall as the first season , I was certainly entertained . And you will need the background to understand season three . So if you want to join the phenomenon this fall , get this set to catch up on the previous story today .
    • 055 4  Sadly , the writer's strike cut this season off short . Or perhaps mercifully ? That didn't stop it from including a horrible storyline about a girl from New Orleans who learns wrestling moves from an ipod and daydreams about hurricane Katrina . The character was so unbearably horrible that they , and anyone else around them , have been cut from the third season . Other than that , the main villian of the show is absent for most of the episodes while a big portion of it occurs in ancient japan . Honestly , if you are not already a die hard fan of the show I wouldn't pick this up unless you want to laugh at it .
    • 056 4  Not since Season Two of TWIN PEAKS has a good show fallen so sharply off in quality as HEROES in Season Two ( and unfortunately , as of this day , Season Three ) . Yes , the Blu-ray discs are spectacular . I have Season One is regular DVD and there is no question Season Two looks far superior in Blu-ray format . But clarity of picture and superior sound can't come close to matching a strong story . And that at this point HEROES continues to lack .
    • 057 4  Heroes set a really high bar for itself in its fantastic first season . It was truly a hard act to follow , and judging from the fandom's strangely critical reaction to the first season's stellar finale , the fans would be sure to crucify the show if it didn't produce a Season Season that was even better than the first season . It's true that this , the second season of Heroes , is a step down from the first season , but there is no way in the world that this is a bad - - or even an average - - season of television . There is a lot of great stuff going on here , and the good far , far outweighs the bad . Let me start off with the not-so-good stuff , to get that out of the way . The Micah ( and , to a lesser extent , Nikki ) plot definitely wears a bit on the patience , but that's no different than Season One . The writers try to put those characters in new settings to spice up their arcs a bit , but compared to the rest of the season , it feels like filler . I wasn't so keen on the Maya / Alejandro / Sylar plot for the majority of the season , though it does get quite a bit better by the last few episodes . I was wary , in general , with the idea of bringing Sylar back . He wasn't a threat until the very last episodes , and I think that Hiro's character arc would have been so much stronger if they had just let Sylar be dead . In fact , the only major , major mistake that the writing team makes here is never letting a main character die . It appeared that five characters were dying in the end of Season One , but every single one of them survived that battle . Much in the same way , what happens to Noah Bennett in the end of Cautionary Tales was a very bad decision . Like any television season , it has its imperfections . They're no where near enough for me to buy that any person could watch this and give it an unbiased one-star rating , but the flaws do put it a notch below the first season . Now for the good stuff . And there is a lot . The character arcs for the most part are great , and what makes this even better is that all of the actors have improved immensely and are able to add a lot of emotional weight to their performances . Mohinder Suresh is taken on such a journey this season , and even Hiro's story - - which , when I first heard what it would be , sounded awful - - was one of the most entertaining stories told this season . I loved what happened to Peter and Nathan and how they were kept apart for most of the season , which really added tension to the scenes when they'd mention each other . The new characters that get introduced , both heroes and villains and morally ambiguous people , are thrilling , especially the sadistic yet vulnerable Elle , played perfectly by Veronica Mars's Kristen Bell , who helps to make this season great . The consistent quality of each episode is quite high , though the last third of the season definitely steps it up to the quality we had in Season One . This was the season I was most looking forward to buying on DVD this summer ( where I watched it for the first time ) , though it was also the season I was most scared to watch , due to the negative reviews . Perhaps its a better season watching it as a whole , but fans who were worried like me have nothing to fear . It's not quite as good as season one , but the drop in quality is only a very small step . This is still very , very good television . 8 / 10
    • 058 4  I absolutely loved Heroes season 1 . I liked Heroes season 2 . It is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be and it is still better than most shows on tv . The problem was the writer's strike shortened the season so the episodes , plots , and solutions feel disjointed and rushed . It's still very entertaining . I loved the addition of Elle and I feel that Mohinder and Matt Parkman were used very well . I also loved that the Bennets ( Noah and Claire ) were utilized a lot this season . Adam made a great villain and Syler was pretty good . The whole Shanti virous storyline was great and Mother Petrelli was downright creepy . The negatives : The twins were boring , Nikki / Jessica barely had a role and Hiro spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME in Fuedal Japan . I also wished that Monica and the New Orleans crew with Micah were given more to do . Peter's storyline was annoying as well . It's definately worth your time . I like watching on DVD cause I can fastforward the twins and Hiro in Japan . The rest of the show was great . I'm looking forward to Season 3 : Villains
    • 059 4  I know , I know . Season Two is not as good as Season One was . Season One ( Genesis ) was phenominal . This Season ( Volume Two : Generations ) was a not up to par . BUT , it still wasn't all that bad . My biggest complaint is that Hiro ( Masi Oka ) was in Feudal Japan WAY too long ( 7 episodes ) before he finally came back to the present . Another complaint was the Niki Sanders ( Ali Larter ) wasn't in it the much . The whole Niki / Jessica story was one of my favorites of last season . A lot of people hate on the new characters , especially the twins , Maya and Alejandro . But , I actually like their storyline and how it's incorporated into Sylar's story . ( I also like them because I , myself , am a Latino ) . Now , I have to admit , the season is a little slow in the beginning . But after episode 7 ( when everything is set and revealed ) , it really starts to pick up the pace and is quite enjoyable . All in all , this season wasn't terrible , wasn't great . But , it does set the stage for the new season ( Volume Three : Villains ) . Cannot wait for that .
    • 064 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) I really don't understand why people are always complaining about this season . for the most part I think people are unfair to the second season of this really terrific show . the second season was short and yes , it was pushed . I agree with that . But that year was short for almost every other show on any network , which was not their fault and that's what's irritating is everybody's blaming the writers for a season that was short due to the writers ' strike . and that's not fair to the show . but even with just 11 episodes I thought it was great , it surpassed my expectations of it . I'd been hearing people going on and on about it saying how awful it was . and then I watched it and really I was rather impressed . I thought it was just as interesting , had just as much follow through as 1 did . All I noticed that was different was that their were two new charactors ' introduced and hiro wasn't connected til the end . but over all , I really enjoyed 2 . Pros : * I loved the whole Shanty Virus storyline . . it was interesting and kept you on the edge of your seat . * I seriously loved the whole old heroes thing and how Angela Petrelli was involved . * and Peter's new powers were really cool . * and the finale was really great , I enjoyed it maybe alittle bit more than season 1 ' s finale and before you get upset or anything I loved the first seasons ' finale , But I will say that you had a pretty good idea what was going to happen in the end of season 1 , even though their were twists and turns . to where in two , you weren't sure . it was a bit of a mystery . . and Nathan getting shot in the end of 2 . that was edge of your seat material . cons : * the only bad thing about the seasons was that it was too short and the fact that I wasn't too crazy about the hiro in the past part of the storyline but once I realized that it connected to not just Kensei , but Adam Monroe . it was really great story telling . That's one of the things I respect most about the show . Love it or hate it . they know who they are and they don't try to be something their not . some of the storylines they've done on this show I haven't seen done on another t.v . show so I'll give them credit where credit is due . but I just didn't get all of the season 2 haters . I was nervous until I recieved the dvd and watched it and I wandered . what really was peoples ' problem . Ofcourse one would be better . it was more gripping and entertaining . their was more episodes . more storylines . I think that would be a given . People should blame the writers ' strike . Not one single a show . this happened to every show . the only difference is this is a show with a lot of storyline and when it's pushed , you see it more clearly . but I enjoyed the season . either way .

    • 067 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) I'm only now trying to get caught up with this show . I grabbed the HD-DVDs of season 1 and started watching it about 8 months ago ( give or take ) . By the time I finished it , I felt like I'd really watched something that was truly epic in scope and in ambition . The acting , writing , and emotional drama were all far above average , and above average is not faint praise . I was pretty excited to move on to season 2 . Three years out , I'd forgotten about the writer's strike , so I can forgive the brevity that first annoyed me , but what I can't forgive is that they seemed to compensate for the upcoming strike by jamming epic ambitions into a novella . Every store felt undercooked , incomplete , and rushed ( I can overlook that for every scene with West in it , though , I watched those at 1.5x speed ) . I wanted to see more Nikki / Jessica ( rushing in that 3rd personality was ridiculous ) , more of Micha's cousins , more Parkman , less of the brother and sister trying to get to NY , and on and on . To make a comparison - - The Return of the King felt longer and more dull in the theatrical release than the extended cut because it felt like it was jumping from one thing to the next , trying to tie up too many loose ends too quickly without ever gaining its footing . Heroes Season 2 feels that same way - - that it's in a big rush to get to a clearly inevitable conclusion , too many parallel stories that don't meet , and , overall , the impending doom element just wasn't as threatening as the blast in Season 1 . It was just very unsatisfying . I'd have rather that they told a truncated , but well paced story instead of making a mad dash to the final , anticlimactic episode . Of course , how do you beat the conclusion of Season 1 ? I don't think you can : )

    • 081 4  I was disappointed by season 2 as a loyal Heroes fan , however , there were redeeming aspects . The writers ' strike definitely effected the show and the script fell short throughout the season because of that . The magic of 1st season was that the show seemed as though it had been on the air for three-four years at the time , it was smooth and well-written , with brilliant acting performances . Season two not only fell short in script , the performances of new characters as well as the awkward stage of one of 1st season's veteran's provided for a disconnect from the season . Monica Dawson's performance by Dana Davis , was the weakest by far , and I hope not to see her again on the show . Micah's awkward stage in his early teen years has made him even more annoying , rude as it may be to say so , I do not connect with his character at all . His cheesy camera moments and forced smiles are not cute now that he's in his early teens . His acting is weak and Disney like . West Rosen by Nicholas D'Agosto is a great potential character , played by an actor who had the look I expected he would have , but the acting talent of a 12 year old in his first year in the business . I have seen D'Agosto on the Office and appreciated him for his slight comedic presence on the show , however , his performance in Heroes only brought the show's stumbles to a fall , making another set of characters that I could hardly watch . That being said , they made up for those weak performances with adding equally stronger ones . The character of Bob Bishop and his daughter Elle were great performances , very fitting to the drama and mystery of Heroes . The character of Adam Monroe was interesting , a little out there - but I suppose I was already wondering what cellular regeneration would mean for the future and the death of cells from natural causes . I really appreciated his character for the show and his performance did that character justice . Caitlin was by far my favorite performance on the new season . Katie Carr is a British actress whose Irish accent I thought to be authentic to parts of Ireland , and whose acting performance I thought to be flawless . The performances of all of the elders if you will - the other generation of Heroes , were all wonderful and really tied the show together in a way that you could call almost fitting . Though the season was a bit of a disappointment , I am no where near ready to abandon ship , and it's worth getting if not just to understand the plot aspects of a year where almost nothing happened , as well as to get more Heroes , because I don't know about you , but even slightly disappointing Heroes is still more of the show I can't get anywhere else .
    • 090 4  The second season was GREAT ! I mean , it wasn't as good as the first season : 1st season 10 / 10 , 2nd season 9.5 / 10 . It's still a great series ! Bummed out that there were only 11 episodes . . . : ( It could've gone longer ! Can't wait for the 3rd season to come out on DVD ! I bought the Heroes 2nd season from Amazon.com so the shipping was a fast delivery . Get it if you love Heroes as much as I do ! : D
    • 092 4  I loved this second season . The first was great , but I really thought things came together in the second . I know some people have complained there was too much character development and not enough action , but , for me , the balance was just right . I loved that we learned more about the characters and from that knowledge came a deeper understanding and respect . It's a pity the writer's strike made this such a short season and that it changed the direction the story was going in . Still , it's a must-buy for any sci-fi fan .
    • 106 4  I bought season 2 Hero's online here at Amazon and like anything to do with Hero's , it was great . But of all 3 seasons ( at this time we are not 1 / 2 way through season 3 on TV ) this is the weakest for reasons that could not have beeb determined . This season was full tilt when the writters strike began and hence problems arose with what to do . Of interesting note is the extra's on Blue-Ray where you can listen to the writers and directors talk about the challanges and what they WERE going to do instead of the unclamatic ending that we got . If you like Hero's this is a must buy !
    • 143 4  I love Heroes show , but this second season i really don't like . Dvd's have very good Bonus Features , good audio commentaries , many deletes escenes , and we have the oportunity to see the missings episodes 12 and 13 . In this season , we see new characters , the best new character is Elle ( Kristen Bell ) , and of course last season characters Peter , Nikki , Suresh and Sylar .
    • 154 4  Was season 1 better than season 2 ? Yes . The novelty of a new show and the curiosity of where it will go will do that . Was it a shame that there were fewer episodes ? Of course . More is always better . Was this a bad season ( to the degree that many have put it ) ? No . There was a plot , a catastrophe to avert and a villain to stop ( albeit a villain who I feel was depicted to be alot more fearsome and intimidating than he should have been considering his non-threatening ability ) . New characters were introduced . Old characters had their own personal issues to contend with in the midst of everything . Sure , it could have been better if there were more than 11 episodes . I wouldn't say extremely better because it wasn't a bad season . So just enjoy the season for what it has to offer , knowing that it is leading into what should be a thrill ride of a season in season 3 .
    • 155 4  Season 2 does suffer a bit from the writers strike . It feels like they are trying to cram a season's worth of story into half the episodes . But at least we got a feeling of closure to the season . Most of the other shows out there just ended their seasons with all the plots left wide open . Despite the issues caused by this condensing of material , there is a lot of fun to be had . We get : Hiro in ancient Japan spawning a rivalry that will spread across the centuries ; Both of the show's powerhouses from last season , Peter and Sylar , trying to regain their lost abilities ; Claire struggling with her place in society ; Matt's mental powers expanding as he tries to protect his new adopted daughter ; there is a plot involving the attempted assassination of each of the first generation of heroes ( including Hiro's father ) ; and we get a bunch of new characters , including Veronica Mars / Sarah Marshal herself Kristen Bell . It is disappointing to not have a full season , but Season 2 it is not a total loss .
    • 156 4  The first season of Heroes was spectacular and got all the attention and accolades it deserved . It was refreshing and I was relieved that so many other people enjoyed the show and made it a success . All in all , season 2 was pretty good . It wasn't the groundbreaking success that season 1 was . Let's be honest , when season 1 came out we didn't know what to expect . And season 2 had a few strikes against it going in . First off , and probably most significantly , the super high expectations for the series . We all loved it so much , we all had in our minds what SHOULD happen , how could it not be a bit of a let down . Second the writer's strike caused the stories to be abruptly cut short . How can we know how the season would have turned out had they had the opportunity to run it's course . I do agree that there were some uninteresting additions to cast . I do agree that some of the story lines were not the best . But what I can't say is that overall it is a disappointment . There were plenty of interesting , compelling things going on here to make this well worth it . The addition of Adam Monroe was one of my favorites . The Nightmare Man was fun ( although under used ) . Peter's amnesia storyline was fun ( They couldn't just have him come back all powerful . . . who could stand up to him ) . I will agree that for half a season , 40 bucks is way too much , but Amazon's price fits well . If you haven't seen the season yet pick it up here . Keep in mind the year as a whole and that it is a tall order to match the sheer brilliance of season one . All in all , compare Heroes Season 2 to most of the other shows on TV and it still shines above the rest . Grab it !
    • 173 4  Almost all the reviews I read about Season 2 said it was bad / average / not-good / disappointing / etc . As such , I was preparing myself for exactly those when I bought this season . And guess what I got instead ? A great experience ! With my expectations really low , this season passed well above the bar I set for it ! I thank all the people who gave it poor reviews , because otherwise that might not have happened : ) Although comparative judgment says Season 1 was better , if you are a fan of Heroes , Season 2 will not disappoint you in any way . On the other end , if you are they type of person who compares everything to the best of things , you might be somewhat cynical about this season . It wasn't the best , but to me , it was great . My advice to anyone would be to watch these DVDs with an extremely low expectation . If you can truly achieve that , then you will love the 12 hours you spend watching this . And you will come out saying , did this season really deserve all those poor reviews ? : )
    • 175 4  As much as I'd love to say the writers ' strike was the cause of this mess of a season , I really can't . The strike came into play with the last 5 episodes or so . Season 2 started bad from episode 1 . No offense to Zachary Quinto , but Sylar for the most part is a boring villain . Sure he's got all the powers of a god and everything , but he's a bit 2 dimensional for my liking . His sole purpose is to get more powers and kill people . No personality , no believable motivation , no real reason for doing what he does apart from the blatantly obvious . Magneto , Joker , Lex Luthor , Green Goblin and numerous other super villains were way more interesting and had real agendas that made them seem real . In season 1 they had an interesting villain with such an agenda . Mr Linderman would have been a great recurring villain and he had a complex personality and agenda , but then they just kill him off like most of the other interesting characters . Ted would have been a nice recurring anti-hero for the show , but he's dead , same with Eden and Candice . This trend of killing off half-developed characters almost every episode is silly and really makes the struggle of the main characters seem like a wasted effort , because no matter what they do , everyone around them is going to die anyway . That doesn't seem very heroic at all .

  • 001 4  Heroes is a breath of fresh air . It has multiple interwoven story lines that converge spectacularly . And the characters are original , easily likable , and well put together . Normally a superhero show would be goofy or cheesy , but this show is different .
    • 022 4  Not a bad buy for the price but still nowhere near as good as the first season .

  • 004 4  Well its obvious that the story quality of season 2 did not match season 1 . But i'm not here to bash the season , i'm here to tell fans that the bonus material on here very much helps make up for the disappointments in story . All 11 episodes have their own commentary and there is about an hour and a half of bonus behind the scenes etc footage to watch through out the 4 DVDs . As for the season itself , the first half was pretty weak but the 2nd half got the ball rolling and became much more interesting . And if you're giving the season a bad review because it was only half as long as season 1 . . . well thats not even fair because it was the writer's strike that caused this , not Tim Kring . All TV shows in the 2007 - 2008 season suffered from that strike . I look forward to season 3 .
    • 008 4  The start of Heroes was undoubtedly one of the greatest things to happen to television in a while . Season 1 is better than season 2 though . I didn't think that season 2 was that bad . I actually enjoyed it a lot . If you watched season 1 , get this season . You'll need to be prepared for the 2 hour season premiere in September . I cannot wait ! I have reason to believe that season 3 will make up for some of the flaws in season 2 . The only reason I'm giving this a 5 - star rating instead of a 4 , is because I don't think that it deserves a 3 - star rating . But I do give it a 4 . A must have for your collection .
    • 017 4  Season 1 of Heroes was just in your face amazing . It kept me on the edge of my seat with so many cliffhangers and surprises . I wasn't expecting season 2 to live up to it , because of the writers strike . But that is still no excuse . I would have been happier if they didn't make a season 2 at all , and just waited for the strike to pass and put season 2 on in the fall . I feel they ruined a lot of great story lines with this season . I can only hope that now that the writers strike is over , season 3 will pick back up and throw us back into a great show , as season 1 did . I'm not about to give up on this show yet ! !
    • 031 4  Best show EVER ! ! Great season ! Definitely gotta own it ! Heroes just keeps getting better . I can't wait for season 3 to come out . I own season 1 & 2 . I will own season 3 when its available !
    • 087 4  I enjoyed watching season 2 , only wish is that I had purchased season 1 thru Amazon , I payed entirely too much at a local store . Watch it and get hooked .
    • 100 4  For those who have watched season 1 , the whole of this season is really nothing like the first season . That being said , I would say the pace begins to pick up with the last four or five episodes of season 2 . Those last episodes are pretty close to quality in season 1 . They are the redeeming factor in an otherwise slow season .
    • 126 4  I think the 2nd season was well written and well played . On the other hand , I feel there should have been more than 11 episodes .
    • 168 4  Sure the second season went in a different direction than the first , but whats wrong with a little change . We get to meet some new people and see what happens with them . You can't just follow the same people all the time , what fun would that be . Now don't get me wrong , I think season 1 was better than this one , but still . . . . season 2 was pretty good .

  • 006 4  I do ackowledge that the second season of Heroes was a let-down in some ways . Even the producers have admitted they made the mistake of assuming fans wanted the same slow build as the first year and the plot of Hiro in Japan dragged too long . But it does come together with great bits , none as good as the introduction of Kristen Bell as the wonderfully psychotic Elle . Despite his presence in a poor plot , Sylar is still a great menace to watch and the Adam Monroe character is inspired as well . I do think the writers had planned for the reast of the season to be amped up but the strike curtailed it . Still , this second volume is a good way to enrich the show's history and , while not as great as the first season , is still better thrills , drama and even laughs than most network shows today . Plus , I'm sure the commentaries will touch on the problems it had and deleted scenes might help as well , making it a must have , whatever the price .
    • 127 4  i placed my order got it two days later as i got to the last disk it was messed up i emailed amazon they sent me a new one isent them the old one i love it perfect condition the best show on tv at this leavle of wrighting and dyalog . wonderful panting just check it out and thankyou amazon ! !
    • 137 4  WOW ! ! The show's amazing , and this video takes it even further . Great Extra's , behind the scene clips , and special effects . I only wish I didn't have to wait week to week for the NEW season ! ! Where's my time travel machine when I need it ? ? Great product . . Very pleased . .

  • 040 4  So I was a little nervous about buying this season because of all the negative reviews . . . my husband and I weren't expecting much when we popped it in the dvd player . But we seriously don't know what everyone else is talking about when they say this season sucks . Its just as good , if not better , than season 1 . I just wish it didn't have to end so quickly . I definitely wish there were as many episodes as season 1 . No , its not EXACTLY like season 1 . But whats wrong with that ? They spiced it up , switched it up . . . and made it just as awesome . I would HIGHLY recommend buying it . You won't regret it .
    • 135 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) WHOOOO HOOOO MY HEROES SEASON 2 CAME . YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST IN SERVICE AND QUALITY PRODUCTS . KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK . LOOK FORWARD TO BUYING MORE . . .

  • 066 4  My biggest complaint about this season , and I know many others have the same , is that it was too short . The Hiro storyline was a bit too long , the Peter storyline was a bit unnecessary , but I did like the Nathan storyline . Mind you , I didn't hate the whole Peter storyline , just the part when he's in Ireland . Overall , the season left me wondering how good it would have been had there not been a strike and they could have done a real season two . I know a lot of people became disillusioned because of its length and the fact they couldn't tell the correct story for the length of the season . I didn't hate the season , but of the three that I've seen , this is the weakest of the bunch . However , it is definitely worth watching .
    • 021 4  My wife and I got sucked into season 1 after randomly renting it and we were instantly sold . As you probably know if you're reading this review , season one of heroes is five stars ! season 2 doesn't disappoint but the writers strike caused it to be too short - only 13 eps . Not 24 like the first season . Regardless it was still pretty cool and entertaining . The overall stakes don't feel as dire and all the characters don't feel as connected story-wise . Still worth four stars to me though . Buy it - you'll like it . LOST is better any day though . . .
    • 157 4  My husband is a heroes freak ! However this will be our last season to buy because the show has gotten way to weird for us . RIP .

  • 094 4  An interesting portrayal of heros based in todays modern society and how the world would deal with such people . Reminds me a little of a comic book series Rising Stars , but not really because RS is much more acurate . A good watch , I wouldent stand watching it on TV and waiting to C what happened next though . The goal of most is to make a good program , they manage to get close to telling the truth about the world but not crossing the NBS I mean NBC lines .
    • 032 4  if any1 out there is looking 4 an original , pulse-pounding TV series 2 watch this is the 1 . its got a great cast , lots of edge of ur seat suspense , and non-stop action ! ! ! ! !
    • 073 4  I enjoy the TV series , owning the season 2 creates continuity btween episodes . The series offers a great look at the good and evil of society that comes with people with special powers . The bad guys known as the company are trying to control the citizens and finding it difficult . I enjoy the interaction between players in relation to their characters . I highly recommend this series .
    • 110 4  its awesome . love the show , & it was much easir to get online than trying to find it here until recently . however i saved more money getting it this way . great work guys , thanx .

  • 107 4  This is by far my favoritest Series on Tv today and i had to ownt he series , i was great relieved to find this second season much cheaper on here since the stores were pricing it as a full season and it was practially half as long as the orginial first season , a must own series if i knew one .
    • 076 4  Well done second season . Followed with a well done story line to the first season . had its ups and downs but overall a great addition to the series
    • 109 4  good adition to all fans of te series . is a litle short but busines is busines .
    • 125 4  This season is shorter - due to the writer's strike . But that did not affect the writing . So many good new twists that just make you upset there aren't more discs to watch ! Excellent show .
    • 128 4  All Eleven Episodes Grip of Extra Features Box Shipped in good condition
    • 166 4  It is short , but it is a great lead up to the new season that we are all chomping on the bit for !

  • 108 4  Its unfortunate that this show , that had such potential , decided to go so far downhill . While the first season had its problems , the second season is so disjointed and uneven that there is practically nothing interesting about it . From the plot lines that are so far apart from one another that they can't be brought together easily to the giant plot holes and strings left unanswered , this season suffered from the writer's strike terribly . However that is no excuse for how lame the writing became , how foolish the character choices have been , and how jumbled everything is . All in all , the show has become more muddled than its worth .
    • 093 4  The whole package and extra contents are excellent , the video and audio transfer are incredible , the only problem is that this second season could have been so much better
    • 134 4  The Blu-ray quality was excellent . It was unfortunate that there were only a handful of episodes .
    • 165 4  Season 2 is serious . If you loved season 1 , then you will definitely love season 2 . It's insightful and cutting . It's a season you will not want to miss .

  • 116 4  Great looking box , with loads of additional features , came fast and in perfect condition ! Looks great on the tv . Looks great on the dvd shelf ! I know that most people didn't like this show last season , but I really did . it was awkward at time , but still a great show . I do think they are trying to pretend like this season never happened . The show seems to not break from the 1st to the 3rd and two is not necessarily needed to keep us on par with character development . so if you don't like the second season this is really not necessary , but if you thought , hey i kinda liked that then it is worth it .
    • 053 4  i didnt c season 1 until after i saw this season 2 and heroes is an awesome show and i cant wait until the 3rd season
    • 167 4  Great show , not quite as good as season 1 , but with the writers strike and everything i guess i can forgive them .

  • 120 4  This season was good but not great . It was unfortunately cut short by the writer's guild strike . The beginning of season 3 was actually supposed to be part of this season and you can tell . The story in this season starts out slow just like in season 1 and then tries to pick up the pace as you see how all the characters are drawn towards their goals . I won't ruin anything here but it feels like the ending falls short because the we were supposed to be introduced to the villains . As I stated before , the villains story arc is now a part of season 3 .
    • 070 4  DVD set arrived very quickly & in great shape ! I love Heroes & it's great that the DVD set has extra features !
    • 080 4  the product was exactly as described . No complaints . I am dissapointed in the actual season - so short ! we watched it all in 1 weekend .
    • 099 4  I got this as my first Blu-ray disc , I'm impress with the quality , and the content of the series , great extras , but I have been unable to remove the Bonusview tag on the corner [ . . ] , thanks !
    • 114 4  I caught up on all my Heroes viewing in two nights . How awesome is that . I can't wait for the Season 3 DVD .
    • 130 4  This is a great show . I first watched the pilot at Comic Con , and knew it would be a big hit .
    • 133 4  Great DVD set . Can't wait for Season 3 to come out on DVD , even though the season just started . Alot of my friends are now getting hooked on the global phenomenon of Heroes . The special features in this set are great . It opens up a much bigger world of the Heroes series . I recommend this to anyone .
    • 140 4  For Heroes fans there is nothing like owning the season on dvd . You get lots of behind the scenes & deleted stuff . I just wish they would come out sooner .
    • 146 4  I was very , very pleased with this DVD set . It includes , of course , all the episodes from the second season , but it also comes with many different special features , such as cast commentary , deleted scenes , content from the NBC website , and even a sneak peak of the upcoming Season 3 : Villains . A very good buy , well worth the money .
    • 149 4  It was what I expected . I did like seeing all of the videos all together so I could keep track of the story line .
    • 152 4  I think that there was a lack of special features but what it all is really about is the series and the episodes and it is undeniable that Heroes is a great show and great series . I would recomend buying it to anybody who has watched the series . I cant wait for season 3 it should many exciting revelations .
    • 159 4  I am on the edge of my seat for every episode of heroes for the thorough charachter development that drives every action and conflict . Very well done show .
    • 161 4  As a kid I collected comic books . I had some great first editions . Little did I know that they would become valuable later on . Heroes merges comic art and scripts with live action . The pace is fast the plots and twists are great , the characters are fascinating . Never knowing who's a good guy and who's a bad guy keeps you guessing . And the alternate ending was a great touch .

  • 132 4  I thought that Heroes season 2 was done well . Especially considering that what they were able to do with it knowing that the writers guild was going to go on strike . They were still able to put the season together with what they had . You have to give them credit for how well they pulled off the change from where they planned on taking the show , to where they ended up taking the show . They had to totally reinvent the series at the last minute . I think they did a fabulous job . As for owning it on Blu Ray . . . I wouldn't have it any other way . I've seen others complaining about how keeping their blu ray players up to date is so difficult . . . but I haven't had any issues whatsoever . Everything I have in blu ray is so incredible that I won't buy new movies on DVD , only blu ray .
    • 024 4  This is a good series and season 2 holds up , barely . The writers strike hurt it badly but it does continue the story that I did not want to die .
    • 072 4  After watching Season 1 I just couldn't wait for Season 2 . It's non stop action and the plots are convoluted enough to keep me on the edge of my seat . The characters are really well defined & I can't wait until I buy Season 3 .
    • 089 4  I would recommend Heroes . Heroes had a slow start in Season 1 , but then along comes Season 2 & this season isn't slow at all . In fact Season 2 rocks . Heroes is well worth owning that's for sure .

  • 141 4  Even though I apparently wasn't as disappointed by Season 2 as a lot of other people , I didn't like it as much as Season 1 , and the extras on the DVD explaining the direction they would have gone in had the season not been cut short , made me a little more disappointed . Overall , the actual season was interesting , albeit it got off to a slow start , and I wasn't all that thrilled with the ancient Japan storyline . I did like the stuff with Claire and her father , especially the way it dovetailed into Mohinder's story and the plotline with Peter , which brought him into yet another dystopian future , and reunited him with the rest of the Heroes . That being said , the future dystopian storyline never got a chance to develop , and now it probably never will . The whole virus-wipes out-mankind thing is a little overplayed , but I thought it would have been interesting to see how the Heroes would stop a virus once its been released , and prevent it from spreading to the rest of the world . The promise of things to come was too much of an allure for me , and I can't separate it from the ending that they did use , which seemed a little forced and a little rushed . Sark ( from Alias ) made for a good villain though and the new Heroes had a good backstory , even if they were , as has been said , put into the storyline a little inorganically . Also , Nikki's storyline ended a little too abruptly , as we didn't get to see enough of her third personality . I guess that's what happens when your season is cut short .
    • 002 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) Season One of Heroes was phenomenal ; I really got invested into the characters and their wild stories . It was funny , exciting , dark and unique . Season 2 dipped in quality a bit , partly due to the writer's strike , but I still found it entertaining and not as bad as many are making it out to be . Hiro DID spend too much time in Japan but it was wrapped up nicely . I liked the new characters of Monica and Elle . Matt was given more time on-screen ( not as much as Hiro or Claire but still quite a bit . ) It's a nice set-up for the next season ( which sounds like it'll be amazing . . . if you're disappointed with Season 2 don't stop watching . The creators are really working hard on 3 and even made an apology . ) The second half of Season 2 gets even better and that's when the show really takes off .

    • 012 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) Heroes Season 2 is not as good as Season 1 due to the writer's strike . It would have likely been the end of the show if they didn't move a head with Season 2 , but the show did suffer some . There are a lot reviews for Heroes Season 2 that point out the many flaws and give spoilers , so I don't need to do that here . My only observation is that the some of characters acted completely . . . well out of character , and a lot of plot devices were used to move the weaker plot lines along . If Season 1 wasn't as good as it was , this Season would not have been so disapointing . Still all of that said , you need to watch Season 2 to get to Season 3 , so recommended for the Heroes fan .

    • 016 4  This is a review of the Blu Ray picture and sound . The picture is crystal clear , it looks amazing . I am so glad I paid the extra $15 and got BluRay . The sound is just as amazing . Definitely better then Standard DVD . Which I think looks amazing , I own S1 on SD DVD and was impressed with the image and sound quality , BluRay blows it away . This season was a little slow going , I wasn ; t happy with some of the new stories started , but over all I think if your a fan of Heroes , you'll love season 2 .
    • 019 4  Yes , this was not a stellar season . Yes , the creator of the show himself apologized for the first half of the season ! But really , the second half of the season ( like the last 5 eps ) really started to pick up & go back to true Heroes form & it was great then when all was well in the heroes world . . . The writers strike happened . Now , I'm not exactly saying buy this season for the payoff of the second half of the season , but if you really like heroes & are into commentaries & DVD extras then of course buy this . There's even an extra where they talk about what was actually gonna happen for the rest of the shortened season 2 .
    • 023 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) This is a good series and season 2 holds up , barely . The writers strike hurt it badly but it does continue the story that I did not want to die .
    • 030 4  Loved the show and this is an easy way to view the series without having to sit down at a certain time , taping it or putting up with the commercials , which I hate . It is done well and I'm able to go directly to the show I want to see .
    • 033 4  Not so good compared with season one , but it's a must seen if you want to know what happened with the Heroes .
    • 035 4  I bought this as a Christmas Gift for my son-in-law . He has the Season 1 and really enjoyed it , so that is why he wanted Season 2 . As for me , this isn't my type of movie .
    • 037 4  Heroes is one of my favorite series . I find the writing , acting and direction highly entertaining . Season 2 was cut short due to the writer's strike . It could have ruined the series , but so far it has with held the strain of a shortened season . It is my opinion that even though the team behind heroes did an excellent job , you can tell the season finale was meant to be a little later in the storyline . Still , for $25 ( or so ) dollars , this will make a nice addition to anyone's TV / DVD library . The characters are well drawn out and the actors do a fine job of becoming there character . The one downside to the series ; and it can be hard to tell what the exact reason is , whether it is budget related , poor writing / direction , or scheduling / budget conflicts with the creative parties , is that story lines will at times be rushed through or cut off abruptly that will kind of off set the pacing of the series . This is not yet a deal breaker for my belief in the storytelling , but it can be a little unsettling . All I can say is that stick with the story . This is a good show and from what little I have season 3 it looks like this is going to be a good show with a long run . Plus with this type mytho's being created they can come back to this universe in so many ways .
    • 054 4  Like most Heroes fans I absolutely loved Season 1 and wasn't to crazy about Season 2 . When I bought this DVD and started watching the special features I watched the commentary from Tim Kring and watched where Season 2 was supposed to go if the Writers Strike never would've occured . The Season 2 episodes definately aren't as great as most of the Season 1 episodes were , but after the story line gets moving again it picks up , but by then the seasons over . But the special features are worth it too because along with the Tim Kring commentary you get to see the Heroes Untold Stories which is where they were meaning for Heroes to go later on in the season , which was really cool . If your a Heroes fan you need to add this to your collection anyway because something tells me after this Season the show is just going to get better .
    • 061 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) Heroes is original , entertaining , great effects , and has a great story . There is never a dull moment while watching the seasons . Nothing beats watching authentic DVDs such as Heroes ; buying carbon copies does injustice to the great quality of acting , producing , and best of all crisp clear pictures with true special effects .

    • 063 4  When buying Heroes on DVD , you should know what you are getting with each season . Season 1 : 23 episodes , plus the un-aired alternate version of the series pilot , 1035 minutes total . Quite a bargain at current prices . Season 2 : 11 episodes , 484 minutes . Season 2 was ruined by a writer's strike . Unlike some Heroes fans , I enjoyed the time spent with Hiro in feudal Japan , but at the current best prices ( about $6 used / $10 new for Season 1 and $8 used / $17 new for Season 2 ) , I'm not eager to pay to watch Season 2 again on DVD . Season 3 : 25 episodes , 1073 minutes .
    • 069 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) DVD set arrived very quickly & in great shape ! I love Heroes & it's great that the DVD set has extra features !
    • 071 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) After watching Season 1 I just couldn't wait for Season 2 . It's non stop action and the plots are convoluted enough to keep me on the edge of my seat . The characters are really well defined & I can't wait until I buy Season 3 .
    • 074 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) The season was great , but it is really short due to the writer's strike that went on that year .
    • 077 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) this is a very good product arrived on time and in good shape the dvds r jsut like the orignal tv series it great to watch them especially the one i never saw

    • 079 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) the product was exactly as described . No complaints . I am dissapointed in the actual season - so short ! we watched it all in 1 weekend .
    • 082 4  The second season is also quite interresting , but found it to be a little short . I intend to buy the 3rd season . It seems quite promising .
    • 083 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) Obviously it was a short season due to the writer's strike , but the Heroes dvd's are still great and packed full of extras .
    • 085 4  I caught one of the shows from the first season on cable and was it was not an instant hit . However , I ended up watching the whole season 1 and was hooked . . . I don't believe that this season was as good as the first or the third . . . This show is about a variety of different people with super powers . Everyone has their own story line and they all come together to more or less save the world .
    • 086 4  Although I really did enjoy this season , it wasn't as good as the first . Their weren't as many surprises and plot twists , but I think that was mainly due to the fact that this season was affected by the writer's strike . If you like Heroes , I would recommend this .
    • 088 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) I would recommend Heroes . Heroes had a slow start in Season 1 , but then along comes Season 2 & this season isn't slow at all . In fact Season 2 rocks . Heroes is well worth owning that's for sure .
    • 095 4  I love the first volume but this one no good at all . . . I dont know what happen to the writer in this volume .
    • 097 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) Although not the best season of Heroes , there is much to be gained from seeing season 2 again . Now that we have season 3 , there are things going on that you can see building toward something . The Latin American twins are still no great characters but they do function to get Sylar back into the game . Very clean transfer . Some interesting extras . For example , there is a documentary that looks like a history channel special about Takezo Kensei . The usual deleted scenes are interesting as far as how the story might have changed .

    • 102 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) Plays perfectly on both my playstation 3 and phillips blu-ray player . See Season 2 with all the detail it was meant to be watched with !
    • 104 4  I thought it was an okay season . I'm a little disappointed that they went for the trite no-good-villain-ever-dies storyline . I'm also bummed that they killed off D.L . ; I would have thought that there were legs on that storyline ( even without having Nicky's multiple personalities ) . I'm grateful that they weren't able to use the whole decimated-town scenario , that would have made things too weird .
    • 105 4  heroes 2 is a very entertaining and highly imaginative series with very plausible scenarios well acted and well performed the supporting backgrounds and cast were again excellent overall attention holding pleasing to look at and a credit to all who took part george
    • 112 4  Heroes : Season 2 Got This at a great Price : D thank you so much , I love Heroes : )
    • 113 4  The only problem I have with this installment to the series , Is that it is too short . ( It is only really a half season do to the writers strike ) It had been so long I actually went and watched the first season again to refresh what happened . I watched this entire set of disks in a single day . I couldn't stop till it was all watched .
    • 115 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) Great looking box , with loads of additional features , came fast and in perfect condition !
    • 117 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) Season Two of Heroes is a good season , but not a great season . It pales in comparison to the second season . I will put this blame on the writer's strike that occurred at the time . Overall , I would still recommend this season to anyone .

    • 119 4  My entire family enjoys Heroes , and we thought this DVD set was very good . The extra information was fun to watch and helpful to understanding the series .
    • 121 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) This Blu-Ray compilation has a very hight quality video and audio . The show its self is like a roller coaster : the beginning weak , middle ok and the end is where it starts to get off but all of the sudden you are done . Can't wait for season 3 due to the season 2 cliff-hanger . Recommended as a gift to a show fan or just to show off your HDTV and Blu-Ray player .
    • 123 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) Good service and delivery was great as usual . However , I would say that the season was shorter due to the writers strike and still cost the same as season one which was quite a bit longer .

    • 131 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 [ Blu-ray ] ( Blu-ray ) I thought that Heroes season 2 was done well .
    • 139 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) For Heroes fans there is nothing like owning the season on dvd . You get lots of behind the scenes & deleted stuff . I just wish they would come out sooner .
    • 144 4  Before purchasing this season , I read the rather unflattering reviews and still , after being captured by the first season , I had to purchase and watch . While the story line was some what ' lack luster ' ( in comparison to Season 1 , ) you can not be a heroes fan and not watch !
    • 145 4  I don't really understand the terrible ratings here . . . yeah it was a short season , yeah it was a tad convoluted at times . But it still has the quality production and eye popping visuals we are accustomed to in Heroes . I fully recommend this product and can't wait for season 3 to start !
    • 147 4  Heroes just continues to get better . Season 2 is outstanding . Great service and great price from Amazon . What a combination !
    • 148 4  This mini series is great . It keeps you in suspence and interested throughout the show . I would recommend it to all . I feel it is a better show that what you fined on regular TV these days . I hope it continues for several years to come .
    • 151 4  Just thought I'd add my rating . This season had no structure . It seemed like scenes were filmed , thrown in a hat , and tossed about on the DVD .
    • 153 4  I'm all for the writers getting what they deserve but why didn't they go on strike years ago when Lost and 24 where in production . I wouldn't have missed those shows as much as this season . Although the production quality is amazing it feels extremely rushed and there's way too many cut corners for my taste . grrr ! rabble-rabble-rabble . . .
    • 158 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) I am on the edge of my seat for every episode of heroes for the thorough charachter development that drives every action and conflict . Very well done show .
    • 160 4  I could not stop watch this movie.I think I finished the whole DVD like a day or 2 . So good . Loved it .
    • 162 4  This is the best Series i've seen in a long time ! Amazon is the cheapest place to purchase any DVD ! !
    • 163 4  This review is from : Heroes : Season 2 ( DVD ) Outstanding . Cannot wait to see the weekly shows this fall . Will purchase series 3 from Amazon who gives great prices and quick service . . AJM
    • 169 4  I loved season one of Heroes . LOVED IT . Unfortunately , season 2 really let me down . The writing wasn't nearly as good , the stories stumbled , and the acting even sagged with the general production decline . HOWEVER ! There is a ton of information stashed in this season that everyone will need if they want to keep watching this fall . I wasn't sure if I would tune in , but then I went to Comic Con , where they let us watch the entire first episode of season 3 . It was amazing ! That episode makes up for everything wrong with season 2 . When this comes out tomorrow morning , I'm going to go pick it up and re-watch it , just so I'm ready for what is to come . I make no excuses for season 2 . I only beg you to give the show another shot this year , because I sincerely think it'll change all those skeptics into believers .

  • 150 4  This was a short , writers ' strike season , but the producers filled the DVDs with good bonus material , and then Amazon.com goes and charges pennies for it . How cool is that !
    • 075 4  The season was great , but it is really short due to the writer's strike that went on that year .
    • 084 4  Obviously it was a short season due to the writer's strike , but the Heroes dvd's are still great and packed full of extras .

  • 171 4  Ok everyone , I know that this has been getting alot of bad reviews . But you have to understand that this was only supposed to be the beginning of season 2 , but it got cut wayyy short because of the writers strike . I promise that the pilot of season 3 is kick a * * . . . Cause i saw it at comic-con . So don't give up hope on this show ! And buy season 2 . Cause it is in my opinion a great season .
    • 025 4  The title of this review pretty much sums up what our family thought of Season 2 . Thw writing seems to have dropped off as well . But , hey , pretty rough trying to match up with the original .

  • 172 4  Okay well whoever gave this a bad review , or called this a sophomore slump , has no idea what they are talking about . First of all before buying this I looked at the reviews on amazon , which I usually do , and saw some really negative reviews . So i was starting to think that this season was going to suck . I bought it anyway because I felt obligated because of how good the first season was , and guess what ? You guessed it , this season rocked . I thought it was very well done , considering the writers strike , and it kept my interest the whole way through . Even though it is only eleven episodes , it is well worth buying . I'm glad i didn't let those negative reviews talk me out of getting this set , and I hope they don't stop you from enjoying this amazing series as it gets better .
    • 009 4  The show this season was ruined by the writer's strike , it was slow with all the traveling back into time , still for those who weren't patient to find out out how good the third season will be , too bad for them ! Anyway , this second season don't expect it to be as great as season one , but there are good stories and plots , if you missed them , you'll be lost in season three .
    • 142 4  I basically bought this because I'm a fan of Heroes . I didn't really like the second season . I've watched this season once since I bought it , but never after that . I watched the third season premiere last night and it seemed like everybody was getting back in form as far as writing goes . So let's hope the third season is a milestone not a stepping stone .
    • 170 4  This was a really great season while it lasted . . . but as with all shows last year , the writers strike messed up the season which made the season finale come to an abrupt stop . This season was still really good , obviously not has fantastic as the first but great anyways .

  • 176 4  Honestly even though this season got a mixed reaction out of some fans season 2 of Heroes wasn't too bad . Maybe it was a bit slower than season 1 but this second season has enough promising material that kept me interested and willing to watch more . This season picks up four months after the 1st season where the heroes are trying to pick up their lives but for some characters things are getting even more complex like when peter wakes up with amnesia and HRG and Mohinder trying to bring down the coampany not to mention Hiro being trapped in the past and must help his so-called heroe ' Takezo kensei actually become the heroe Hiro learned to worship during his childhood but this quest makes a dramatic turn mid-way and without giving anything away for those may not have seen it yet it has a very large impact later on in the season . The plot still contains lots of fascianting storytelling drama excitment suspense action and intrigue and some revelations and shocking plot twists as well . The second half of this season is electrifying like this season's new bad girl Elle's power and contains just as much as excitment and intensity and smart bold and inventive writing as the last season with an explosive and smart finale which finishes off the season quite nicely . The DVD is a good buy fot Heroes fans the episodes are great and it's always fun to be able watch a whole set of episodes instead of just one . Overall this season is a must-see for fans of the 1st season of Heroes there are some very stunning shocking and well - concoted episodes like Four months ago and Cautionary tales and let's not forget powerless . So if you Like Heroes and wanna see some more buy this DVD ignore the bad reviews and form your own opinion and let yourself enjoy it because this season of Heroes is alot better than the bad review let on .
